For the moment Lattice let her be the ambassador of the both of them. It was easier to just let her twin take over the task of talking and asking questions and exploring the unknown. Naturally she moved whenever she would moved to avoid being dragged about by her sash. The ghoul stared up at the voice of the voice recognizing it almost instantly though she waited until the person turned toward them more fully so she could see his tattoos. Lattice seemed to relax slightly and even had a momentary smile upon her lips, "Petro," she said softly showing she recognized him and knew his name. She nodded with her sister, "I am Lattice," she said helpfully to help him keep it straight. The Engraver was everything but angry that he had mixed them up, it happened often even at home with the other Engravers - at least when Needle was being calmer and not getting into things.
She fell silent when Petro was explaining the elections and even let out a small giggle at her sister's disappointment, "That would be interesting..." she agreed and startled only a little when her sister grasped her hand and urged her to stand more next to her. Lattice shuffled forward obediently but she didn't let go of her sister's hand. They were able to easily hold hands they knew from experience what sort of contact would result in pain and awkwardness and this wasn't one of them. Except now...Lattice refused to let go of her Sister's hand.
"Have you been well, Petro?" Lattice asked softly. There was a faint stench to the air that she started to notice the longer they lingered at the booth. The ghoul wrinkled her nose a bit and ducked her head as if to keep the scent away from her senses.

The horse boil looked a bit embarrassed for having switched the two ghouls' identity and used this opportunity to really focus on their differences. Had the sisters the ability to see, Tro might have been chastised for being rude and staring given the intensity of his stare. Thankfully, his study of the two ghouls did not have him completely shut off from the rest of reality, allowing him to hear and process the succeeding questions being posed.
"Heh, yeah, seeing 'em duke it out'd be interesting and educational, to say the least," he grinned, "From what I heard, y' elect students after they campaign. Guessing y' go and pick the student y' think best fits the position. 'Course y' can't pick someone who ain't running for the spot, dunno why that is, though." He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck, wishing he could have been more informative. There were a lot of things in this academy that differed from his Clan's ways. "Dunno if there're bonus stuff to getting elected, other'n y' getting the position y' wanted. Being on the Student Council's probably like being a Clan Elder."
When he noticed the two had been holding hands this entirety, an easy smile appeared on the horse boil's face. Despite the faint twinge of homesickness tugging at his chest, he found the sight comforting in some ways. "Been good, got to attend Prom. 'M thinking I passed that rite of passage'n I got to visit Lizzy's. Either of y' been to her booth yet?" His suggestion to visit a different location might have something to do with the look of distaste that had appeared on Lattice's face.

Needle had never heard of student elections; their clan was all about Engravers, all the time. The idea that someone would run for a position and be elected by their peers was fascinating; pity she wasn't enrolled, she would have loved to give it a shot! Hah, wouldn't the old hags be surprised then! While her thoughts went on an energetic tangent, her body remained motionless, that tiny little smile on her lips remaining where it was.
"I imagine the positions are pre-determined, then?" Otherwise there would be students running for anything! Imagine a student running for 'grass cutter'? Hah! "What are these two students campaigning for?" She gestured towards the booth again with her free arm; damn their use of paint! Luckily, Petro had yet to tell her to shut up; his patience made a new record in the 'indulge Needle's curiousity' category! Lattice's previous records were not included, as they were twins.
"We have not! We only arrived moments ago." Then, turning her pale face ever-so-slightly towards her dear sister. "Would you like to go, Lattice?" If this ghoul was Petro's friend, perhaps she could be another scareling to enlist to watch over Lattice for her!
"Which reminds me...Petro, when we get a moment, may I have a word?"

Lattice was a little interest at the idea of electing people for jobs and positions especially when it was compared to being like a clan elder, she appeared to understand the concept being presented to them and was happy to listen to Petro explain while her sister asked questions, "Well it makes sense...if you pick someone who isn't running then they probably wouldn't care as much about their position and thus do poorly and disappoint everyone," she murmured thoughtfully. It didn't matter how much of the honor it was - some just didn't like the weight of the responsibility.
She would need to pay careful attention to the people who run the election booths since she would likely have to try and vote for someone soon as she's settled and things start truly going.
The ghoul tilted her head, "What is a prom?" she asked softly this time taking her turn to be curious. Lattice sometimes had nice gaping holes in her knowledge about the goings on outside of her little world. "It must have been nice to visit a friend. No we haven't been there yet," she replied and then tilted her head toward her sister.
Honestly she was fine for the most part but still they should investigate other places, right?
"Whenever you're both ready I wouldn't mind exploring other booths," she said politely while not mentioning anything about the unpleasant smell she was experiencing.
