The collecting of the flat rocks was still at its beggining, seeing as Osso would just immediately skip the next one he found over the water. Again Klaz chittered and squipped on his shoulder, green lanterns intently watching the stone go from the ground, to the boy's hand, and then out into the foggy distance.
'plonk' sounded a fat rock that the Mishap had decided to lob into the water, not caring to make it skip. Being alone was nice...but it was so boring...

It was the 'plonk' sound that caught Len's attention. She waivered, uncertain. She was lonely. But it could be a stranger, and she didn't want to deal with that at the moment.
But then again, maybe it'd be a nice stranger...
Hoping for the best, Lenore started in the direction the sound had come from.
"Hello?"

'schwip schwip schwip'
The skipping of stones had continued again after the sudden plunk. This was what, the hundreth one? The boy had lost track many rocks ago.
From the boredom daze plus the crunch and shifting of rocks under his feet, Osso failed to hear anyones voice except for the now annoying chitter of the inky companion on his shoulder. Note: gwipples don't make good conversationalists.

Lenore ventured further, feeling disappointed no one was answering. Maybe she'd just imagined the noise.
"Hey," she called. "Someone alive out there or am I jus' talking to myself?"

Another rock went plonk. This time he did hear something, words that he did understand, but who ever it was just wasn't clicking in his misted head.
"You're talking to yourself," he called out sarcastically. Who ever it was could pop up if they wanted to. Infact, he wished they would.

Instantly irritated and not recognizing the voice, Lenore growled slightly.
"Hey. Watch your tone," she said grumpily. "I'm in the mood for cuttin' off important limbs, don't friggin' tempt me."
She looked around, going forward a bit further.
"You gonna come out or do I gotta look for ya?"

"Go right ahead and maime someone then." This time he chucked a stone clear out into the distant waters, the liquid making a 'sploosh' before the 'schwip schwip' piped up again.
The chortles and calls from Klaz only grew louder with each reply the boy made, as if telling him to shut up or be nice. Osso was bored and a little annoyed for no reason at all, so why should he?

Lenore bristled.
"Sounds like you're volunteerin'," she snapped at the (rather pathetically, when one thought about it) unrecognized voice. "Come on up here and play."
Her wings, mostly regrown now, spread out, sounding like a knife being slowly drawn from its sheath.

"If you're so fearless, come and find me then. Besides...sounds like you're afraid anyways." The boy was dense at this time....severely; he still hadn't recognized who ever held the "all threatening" voice and honestly had no idea what he'd do if it turned out to actually be something threatening.

"Now you're just asking for it," Lenore said coldly. Stomping towards the direction of the voice, she pulled shadows from the ground, ignoring their cool silken feel over her skin as they formed a mask over her face. Her, Lenore Ligeia Adyamaur, afraid? A mortal insult.
The shadows took the form of something animal-like with empty eye sockets. In the false maw formed spikes to resemble jagged teeth. It took a great deal of energy to make the mask and she already felt herself getting tired, but damn it all if it wouldn't be worth seeing this jerkwad's reaction!
"Come an' say that to my face," she called, looking around for the speaker. She was very close now, who ever it was...

"Idiot..." he mumbled and sighed. Why'dhe have to even reply to that voice anyways?
Hearing the threats, he kept walking and soon rounded the corner that seemed to have taken forever to come to. "I'll say it to yo-...ur....face...when...Um...."
The skeletal boy had indeed come face to face with a...shadow monster mask thing? He just sort of stood there lamely, brows raised in confusion. His lack of being surprised most likely always ruined the climax of things, such as this current event.
Klaz however...well, the imp immediately shreaked and skittered back into the boy's hood.

As the source of her annoyance finally appeared, Lenore at first uttered a bizarre sound, like a bird's call mixed with a scream. All the better to be intimidating with.
Three seconds after the sound emerged, it was choked off into a gasp of stunned surprise, sounding much like:
"GRRAAAAAOHmygodOsso."
The mask dispelled instantly, leaving a deeply embarrassed Lenore with wide eyes and a dark gray blush.

"Len?!"
The boy blushed gray ever so lightly. Hollow sockets widend and eyebrows rose even higher than before. "What...um....why....were you about to eat my face or something?"
OH yeah, he was so good at conversing.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap-
"I wasn't! I. You. The talking. And we didn't rec- ohjeezI'msorrydidIscareyou?"
The last bits of her sentence were run together almost unintelligbly, and Lenore blushed even darker gray because of it, shoulders hunched. She'd just threatened to dismember her own boyfriend and tried to sneak up on him in disguise.
Fan-freakin'-tastic. she thought dully.

The boy only started to chuckle at her mangled and globbed together words, as well as her expression.
Taking a hand out of his sweatshirt pocket, he waved it as he shook his head, "no no no. I'm kinda hard to scare now-a-days. Besides, I should probably apologize as well." With that he brought her into a hug, still chuckling about the whole mask thing.
