((Aren't natural abilities off at the moment? /to Quarria))
Winston had moved on ahead, long legs carrying him easily across snow. It seemed there was a bit of a mess going on behind him with the others, forcing him to turn and start at a steady trot back to the group. Perhaps it had not been such a great idea to move on alone. But really, a lone white dog in a snow-covered forest would probably attract less attention than the hodgepodge of students and giant serpents in the main group. Was there another tree attacking? They could handle themselves, but really, leaving other students to get themselves beaten on by happy-trees was hardly any way to make friends.
He really should have stayed with the group. Knowing his luck he'd get body slammed into a comma by some rogue joy-tree. Hopefully he'd run into the group before then though.

[I believe yes, natural abilities are off. :3 Like even Undead can feel pain and cold now when they were previously protected by their... Undeadness.]
Lizzy had been walking with Amrita's hand in her own, away from the rest; she had even missed Johan, apparently, and Christof was probably still in his tent, happy about being kissed by his crush... Currently, the only other student she could spot was a white dog a short distance away, and he was starting to look like a good, warm cuddle buddy. Everyone else was probably behind them... Perhaps it would have been better if they joined them? What if a tree attacked Amrita and herself at the same time?
She bit her lower lip nervously, looking at the Undead ghoul, "Should we continue walking or wait for the others to catch up?" Lowering her voice to a whisper, "And maybe... We should join up with the student at the front too?" She gestured towards the white dog. Seems to her like having company - protection - is important right about now.

Gabrian had swiftly decided that trees, along with snow, were now crowning his 'top most hated' mental list, specially as a random tree forced it's way into the main path and attacked Quarria. He hissed disapprovingly, almost as if the sound could help the larger serpent scare the offender away, and then did his best to remain curled up over the laps of the students Quarria was currently carrying.
Thankfully, her battle, like his own, was horribly brief, and the tree was defeated almost instantly. He found himself sniffing almost petulantly as he looked at the fallen foe, "Ssssserves it right!" then he moved slightly to make himself as comfortable as possible over the girls' (and Faint's) laps, hopefully serving as a blanket of sorts.
Of course, it was right around the time he'd laid his head on Alcie's lap and closed his eyes that he felt the familiar tug at the bottom of his stomach, indicating a shift back to human. Gabrian tensed and then began to squirm horribly in place, trying to wedge himself between two people, rather than remain on all their laps. He hissed sharply, disapprovingly and then felt himself change entirely to human; thankfully he was only in a semi-awkward position, half wedged between two of the students, still partially on poor Alcie's lap, "I'm sorry," he seemed rather embarrassed, and he squirmed in his newly regained human form until he'd placed himself firmly between Alcie and someone else before letting out a sigh, "I swear; the moment we get back to Halloween won't be a moment TOO soon. As lovely as this ride and... warmth is, the shifting is most inconvenient."
He turned his head to regard the larger serpent and offered her a true, honest to god smile. Possibly one of the first smiles he'd managed since the start of the trip, "A nix, actually. But yes, you can sort of say that. We prefer rivers, swamps and lakes though, over sea. Yourself? I've never quite seen anything like you."

He nodded. "I was made to scare off the crows from one of the school's gardens but that, uh, didn't work out to well..." Eracs sighed. "I ended up attracting them so yeah..." The scarecrow shrugged. "I guess as one of the many odds things to live in there? I didn't mind it since there were lots of cool things to play with!" Oh how he loved to tinker with things.
"Yes, let's press on!" He followed after Alerick with Draven. "I might be able to carry all the packs?" Might being the key word since never had he tested his strength like that.
The scarecrow slowed down and turned back to look at the rest of the class. "Hey, guys... Did you notice the trees attacking other students??" What's this? It was Jacking awesome. Not the attacking part, but the animated trees. How did they work!?

Trira Strait Jacket Girl Trira The girl who had been shoeless eariler spoke up, and Quarria give a quick nod of her head at the girl. "Of course the offer is still good. Just pick a seat anywhere you wish. If you need to, you can sit up near where my wings meet my body, farther down then my shoulder joint, and snuggle in them there. You could warm up your feet if you need to. And you can drop your bag on my back, too." She offered, lowering her body a bit so that more of her back was reachable, and thus more sitting room was provided. She was absolutely loving all of this, and she could feel her body starting to circulate slightly warmer blood, which was good since she was technically kind of a reptile. "I seem to have missed getting introduced to you. I'm Quarria Reikis. Who might you be?" "Wooooow, heeeeey....you're kinda pretty you know that? What's a pretty...thingy...like yourself doing 'round here?" And overly "Merry" tree has wandered over to you. It's boozy smell threatens to overwhelm you. HP: 5Damage: 1Damage to Quarria: 7-6 = 1 damage to Quarria. Damage to Tree: 12 - 6 = 6 ULTRA KO'D Suddenly a tree wobbled out of the tree-line, and had set it's...eyes(? whatever.) on her. This thing must be really out of it if they thought a thirty-foot long serpent was a pretty anything. Quarria immediately reeled back for a moment as the stench of it made her gag, and cough hard enough to cost her a health point. "I'm sorry everyone! Please take strong hold of a scale or horn around you! This ride may be slightly bumpy...! Sin, Alcyone, Faint, Junko, Gabrian, hold tightly!" And with that her feather crest flared and she let out a hiss, her sharp dragon mouth dripping with venom. She lunged the more frontal part of her body (such as her neck-head area, not her front scales) toward the tree, preparing to bite right through it's drunken bark.
(Her reaction to hitting/ko'ing is below. If I'm not supposed to include this or it's a bit like moding, disregard it, okay? ^^; (Or if her venom is too much of a natural ability.))
Her bite connected straight into the trunk of the tree, seeping flammable venom from her mouth that was now all over the bark. If something happened to cause a spark, that venom would go straight up in flames, and even if that didn't happen, as she pulled back with her mouth, it tore a size-able hole in the JOYous tree, enough to kill it, even. She then dropped the chunk of wood so she could check on everyone.
Quarria's HP: 24 HP.
(Responses to everyone in new post.) "Whoawhoawhoa, you're a bit too hardcore for me I think. Heeey...wow, I'm feeling kinda..." The tree topples over with a mighty crash. You are sad that your pack didn't come with an axe, but at least it managed to drop something. You rob the sleeping tree without regret. HP: 0 HP: LOOT ((I think the vemon is acceptable, besides she did ko the tree first shot so I don't quite see how its god-modding sorry late drop got distracted before having to head to work OTL))

Jamais watched the giant serpent with wings level the tree really quick. She also looked as if she was giving rides. Her tail flickered as she looked to Basil then pondered. "Hm... looks like there's a new train." She joked with a grin.
However she shrugged, "I'd rather hoof it, what about you?" She tilted her head.

Candlejack! Out of the corner of her eye, Alcie saw the tree approaching and she swayed vigorously as Quarria reeled backwards. Immediately with one arm, Alcie hooked herself onto Quarria's body and she placed her free hand on Gabrian so that he wouldn't slide off of her or Sin's laps. Thankfully, Quarria took care of the tree quickly and Alcie breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew. You showed that tree who's boss Quarria!" Chuckling slightly trying to relieve the tension, Alcie patted Gabrian's head gently. Glancing at Sin making sure that she was alright, Alcie nodded at her quickly.
Looking down at Gabrian, she noticed that the serpent was squirming uncomfortable on her lap. "Huh?" Then she noticed that Gabrian had switched back to his humanoid form and was kind of stuck between her and Sin. "Oops. Heh. It's alright Gabrian." For some reason she felt herself blushing a little but thankfully her cheeks already had a pink hue due to the coldness. Shifting over to make room for the boil, the water demoness looked away from Gabrian not sure what overcame her.
Pushing her hair from her face, Alcyone looked into the distance keeping a watchful eye out for anything that could potentially harm them. All she saw was snow, trees, snow, and more snow. It was all rather bleak...

((*gigglesnorts* At least it wasn't roadkill! <33 ))
The she-wolf couldn't help looking down at Kilo again and snickering. He really did look funny with all the stuff he currently had on. But he didn't have a thick fur coat to be out in the snow. She at least had that much in her wolf form. And now the she-wolf was curious. Just what exactly was d...Kilo! Jackdamnit she had been doing good too! Keeping an eye on the gryphon and the reaper, she let her curiosity get the better of her.
"What kind of undead creature are ya, anyways?" Her head tilted as she tried to recall any undead that she had heard of that could change into animals. Specifically cats. LW couldn't think of any.
Her nose twitched and before she could keep it from happening, LW sneezed a small squeak of a thing. And with the sneeze came a shift. No longer did she have her fur to keep her warm. Candlejack! What? Was she going to be switching forms at random times the whole time they were stuck here?! Oh that was just lovely. She shivered and glanced from Kilo to the other two. Now her cat friend was probably a hell of a lot warmer than she was. Maybe sticking with the three of them was better if she was going to be changing back and forth uncontrollably. From what she could see of the other students, most of them were gathering on the back of some large serpent creature. There was no way LW could do that as well. With her luck she would shift and fall off. Best to trek through the snow on feet. Very cold feet.

"Yeah, I noticed the trees. I'm sort of hoping to get in to a fight with one actually." They were very interesting, and the idea of fighting a tree was very entertaining. He could, if he shifted during the fight somehow, easily gnaw and bite at it or even just claw at the trees bark. He didn't know how much damage/pain it would cause the tree though...but he could hope to find out, right?
"I could easily drag my pack as well, if I shifted, it would be a bit odd and done best if I moved backward. It would leave my back exposed, which would not be good. If I dragged it and walked forward it would be between my legs and something I could trip on....so lets hope we don't shift at the same time." He said this with a smile at the two. "And no, if it happens we'll take a short break Eracs. I wouldn't ask you to carry all three packs, it wouldn't be fair." Among other things.
"Well, while you were in the shed I'm glad your a student now Eracs, or we wouldn't have been able to meet you. Though it sounds like it wasn't too bad...I'd have gotten lonely myself." Very lonely indeed, he needed others in his life.

Attracting crows? Draven thought about that for a second. In his mind Eracs did look friendly. Crows were known to like some company, so he guessed it made sense. "At least you had something to occupy yourself with in the shed." Having nothing to do would have been terrible. Alerick was right, though. It would have been lonely in the shed.
“I agree with Alerick. If we both change, you don’t need to carry all the packs.” He imagined the scarecrow could do it, but Draven didn’t want to impose.
Draven turned and looked at the other members of their group, too. “I thought that was what was happening. I am not a real big fan of trees attacking,” he said. “I mean…trees are for sitting in…and I don’t want to think about a tree I’m sitting in attacking me.” The animated trees in Halloween were usually nice, if one asked permission to roost (a raven roosting in their branches added to their look, you know)…but these green covered things clearly had it in for the students. Draven shuddered. “Not my idea of fun, that’s for sure.” Thoughts about trees attacking while he slept began to occupy his mind, and they were not pleasantly scary thoughts.

"...Oooh." Amrita hummed in understanding once Lizzy clarified the situation. Okay, that did make sense! Much more sense. She had read a couple romance novels to keep her brain active, but she didn't quite see the appeal in it. They were interesting, but she didn't really understand how sweet it was to want to die for them. If you lost your FEAR, there was nothing you could share with your special someone, right?
She let Lizzy explain even further to Johan, her gaze still on her heels in the snow. The offer to carry some students slipped past her in her focus on not tripping over hidden items in the snow. It wasn't until the Demoness spoke next that the Vetala looked up, holding onto the hand tighter when she looked behind them at the tent. "Umm...Probably...should keep moving?" She questioned, looking ahead at the 'leader' of the group. "Groups are good...I'm sure Christof could catch up easily."

Huddled in his tent, Christof regained his composure and once again took inventory of his things. Scarf on loan to Sinnnnnn he knew her name and it was so wonderfully fitting. That odd security card tucked into his pocket still, a few cards with totally useless things written on them, a black crayon, the gift from Those Legs, his Bell and the Fear Pills. Right. Good to go.
Once packed up and composure returned, it wasn't until he had folded the tent and stuffed it away that he felt the cold pressing into his exposed face. He probably should have brought a jacket, that would have been smart. Leg still hurt. While he was stowed away, the students had carried on forward but their trail was easy to spot, and it wasn't until he spotted Lizzy, Amrita and Johan at the tail end that he perked up, clenching his collar shut around his mouth against the cold and waving with the other.

Cuddled up to the best of his abilities Kilometer looked over in LWs direction. The look he expressed was one similar to disbelief that the question was even asked. One of those 'what do you mean what am I? Isn't it obvious?' looks. Then again maybe not everyone has met or heard of the nekomata before.
“I’m a nekomata.” Kilometer plainly replied. His balled body shifted as he fidgeted, trying to poke his tail out from under the cloth. “Split tail.” He continued, as if that was the grand answer of the decade. Adding, “I was a living nekomata at one point.” as he flicked his tail tips separately again. Those tails came in handy when grabbing the plate from falling. Speaking of which, he still never got to actually eat anything....
Kilometer’s half lidded eyes, due to the cold, widened from the sudden sneeze and shift change by LW. Bi-colored, wide eyes looked up at her. She was so much taller now. No matter. He was cuddled up in Vaith’s cape; making him content for the time being. That wouldn't be for long though. UGH! He can’t stay balled forever. Even though the cape was giving him warmth he still felt the cold from the snow below him. He’ll have to start walking soon. He assumed they had a destination.

"Alright then! And yup... I'm sure he will." Lizzy nodded, taking in a deep breath to prepare herself for the possibly long walk ahead before shivering at the cold, feeling rather silly for doing that. Pulling her scarf up to cover the bottom half of her face, she started to walk a little faster than before, trying to catch up to the white dog-student in front of them - he was looking more and more like a warm, fuzzy pillow. Not that she was ever going to say that to his face.
"Um, white dog-student!" She called out, pulling her scarf back down, not sure how else to address the canine without making it sound insulting; after all, if she was stuck in her other form, she wouldn't want anyone calling her something else other than 'black widow student' or things along those lines... Then again, did he even hear her?
She waited for a response, but decided to sneak another look back, only to realize that the Gromble Serpentine Express (she just made that up!) had gone by ahead. However, a waving Christof made her stop in her tracks, glad that she had looked behind; after all, there was no way for the hunchback to call for them! She squeezed Amrita's hand gently, "Hey, Christof's out of his tent!"

He looked really cute cuddled up in the cape, but she didn't feel like informing him that. Especially after the look she got after asking what he was. What? She had never heard of a...nekomata. The she-wolf just blinked at him and pondered over the word. As far as she knew, her family had never mentioned any sort of shifter by that name. All she really knew about was other were's.
"The split tail is cool." She couldn't resist and crouched down to tug gently at said tail. He was becoming more social and probably didn't even know it! "What do nekomata's do then?" It was her curiosity getting the better of her. And Jackdamnit! The tips of her toes and fingers were tingling. And not from numbness. Oh this was going to drive her insane.
She had the sudden urge to cuddle with the cat. The only problem with that was, she was shifting back and forth between humanoid and wolf. Kilo would probably claw her at some point for face planting it into the snow. Ah well, she could tease him and tug at his tail. It was nice getting him to talk. And the gas mask on his cat form? LW refrained from giggling and commenting on that.
