Riley shrugged, flopping lazily on the seat. Maybe. She responded, but she didn't look convinced.

Then, something got flung in the air, and Riley looked up as it sailed right past her head. She reached her hand up, but was a moment too late; it zoomed by before she could even really try.

Oh well, she resigned. She was still mulling over her deer-riding loss to really care about not catching a trinket.

The toterror was not so willing to go to it's drunken master who kept it in the jar. No. It hated the jar. But, as it saw the dog fly in the air, it's eye bugged out and did indeed, rush back to the safety of it's master's jacket. Who had seen the shiny trinket fly in the air. And all he could think was:

RING A DING DING A LING NOISY SHINY

"Belllllllsssssss" shooting up, the siren drunkenly grabbed for it. "Ding dongs~"

There was a jingling noise in the air? It was soft and Lucien almost didn't hear it but when Israfel shot up to try and catch something, he couldn't help but see it fly through the air. It looked a little familiar but Lucien couldn't place what it was. He did notice that his bird seemed to want it... and it was shiny. Lucien liked shiny things. Lucien liked Israfel. Lucien tried to catch whatever it was as it flew through the air.

Thackery was not the kind of dog that enjoyed riding in anything that moved. It had taken him days to get over his initial trip to Amityville, and he was less-than-thrilled to discover that he would be taking another train ride. Despite preemptively preparing with a mug of Ginger Scale before setting out for his trip, he was motion-sick. Very motion-sick.

He huddled in the back of the train car, trying to hide the fact that he was panting like a sheepdog in the desert. Though his face was buried in his hands for most of the trip thus far, he had managed to glance up at his classmates a few times.

He had no idea what was happening, but he was sure he was hallucinating. Were they fighting something? Were they drunk? Surely none of this could be happening. Not on a train. They had to be safe on the train, oh please Jack they had to be safe. Whining, he tucked his tail under his feet and willed the train to go faster...no, just get there faster.

"Hey." The dracolich bobbed his head slightly in the direction of the green dragon next to him. It wasn't very clear where he was looking at any given time, or if he'd been in some sort of sleep-like state - all he had in the way of eyes were two blue glows set deep in their sockets. The commotion must have woken him up or snapped him out of daydreams. He stretched both arms. "What'd I miss?"

The other guy in his cabin was also looking green, but that was probably not his normal color. Aymet leaned over and reached out a clawed and extremely cold hand and rested it on Thackery's shoulder. With the sound of so many people scrambling over themselves in the hallway, Aymet didn't hear any warning whines and pants from the mystery creature he was diagnosing. "I think we both missed all the fun. Uh... are you okay?"

He tried to peer closer, nosing his bony face toward the demon's. "Is your species supposed to turn that color? That's pretty cool."

Cyrilla quirked an eyebrow at the bobble-headed boy, and looked off towards the mess that their train car was in. "Oh, you know. Nothing you would be upset about having missed." she grinned, not offering any sort of explanation for the situation. If he'd missed the show that Israfel had put on, he was a lucky boy indeed. Her ears still ached from the Siren's... song. If you could really call it that.

As Aymet's attention turned towards Thackery, Cyrilla perked her head in the boy's direction as well. He looked like he was half broken. Maybe the deer had kicked him. Though she's pretty sure she would have noticed that.

Then again, there was a good chance she'd been mourning the loss of her bracelet. She'd have to replace it at a later. Too bad, it'd been a favourite. Stupid ghost deer.

Right. Whimpering student. She shook her head.

"Umm... he looks like he needs a bag..."

Fading in and out of his lethargic state, Thackery snapped to attention when he felt a hand on his shoulder. A cold, cold hand.

"NO! NOT THE RIVER STYX!" His eyes were wide and he nearly fell out of his seat in his frantic attempt to get away, settling down only when he realized that he was looking at a classmate. In a train. Not some creature in the depths of Hades. Attempting to regain his composure, he once again hid his face - this time, it had more to do with shame than his sickness.

"Uhhh. Oh. Sorry." He moved his hand away and dragged it over his sticky forehead, trying to make himself look at least a little more presentable. This was not good for his (surely shining) image. "Yeah, uh, all of the fun looks like it's already happened and...things that we missed-" He thought that words were coming out of his mouth, but he couldn't decide if they made any sense or not. "Wait. None of this looks like fun." Could it be...sarcasm? Maybe the fact that they were on a train was completely tainting his experience.

The comment on his "color" finally sunk in. "Color? What color..? Please not orange, please not orange." Another wave of nausea hit, and he leaned against Aymet for support, eyelids fluttering closed. "No," he finally added, trying to clarify. "I don't change colors."

West perked up as the man began to speak. Prizes? Meh. Career counseling? RAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEGGG

WEST DIDN'T NEED NO STINKIN' JOB

He shot out of his seat and lunged for the career counselor, conveniently diving past the spot where the trinket had been thrown.

Iolanthe was still standing awkwardly next to a couple of seats when the professor started to speak, watching him with interest. She had to admit that when she signed up for this trip, this was.. pretty much the last thing she ever expected to happen. Then again, the world she lived in was just full of surprises.

She had just been about to sit down when the professor turned to leave, but she caught sight of the trinket in his hand just as he turned back to them. She caught his last few words and dashed forward instantly to try and scoop the trinket up from the floor. Normally, she didn't scramble for anything but she had fought this thing hard! She deserved that prize!

Mo sighed as the commotion didn't really die down as her ears went straight back. She wasn't really listening it was far to loud for her to care but then she head a bell. She looked around and went for it "bells" but sadly she tripped over the her own tail. Stumbling back she rubbed her sore bum and tail dodging students that were going for the bell. She stumbled back trying not to become an innocent bystander. She realized she had fallen by the feline student that was behind her. Mo's cheeks flushed as she looked at him "umm... Hello....again?" she brushed some hair back as she tried to stay out of the way.

Aksaja didn't know what it was that the man threw, but everyone else was diving for it, so the dragon decided it must be important somehow. As such, he actually vaulted over a couple of seats and ran for the thing, sliding across the floor to grab at it .....

It was all too much. The fight over windows just left him confused and wanting a blanket. He'd dived in frozen waters before, but the cold draft coming in from a moving train was not his idea of fun, not to mention his scarf kept hitting him in the face from the wind. To end matters, the windows were shut and his friend ~ his loud, crazy, loopy friend ~ had been punched in the face. It didn't seem to phase him too much, because just when Calder was about to go over, the siren was back on his feet, moaning and groaning, and then being distracted by the previous strange adult they all just glimpsed.

The same guy who moments ago showed up and then left to then have a reindeer attack them all. No one needed to be the sharpest scalpel in the mad scientist's lab to know that something was up with this guy.

Before anyone could grab this man and throw him out of the many open windows, the man distracted them all with a shiny bell.

And while Calder might have stayed up on principle, he did like shiny things. Twas the season of giving, and he wanted to be more festive. Maybe a certain someone he liked would compliment him on how pretty he looked with it.

So, like the rest of them, he made a dash for the shiny bells.

Things had calmed down... Maybe? Deacon grimaced a bit as a 'prize' was tossed into the air, sending nearly everyone in the car scrambling for it. He'd gotten to his feet in a half-assed attempt to go after it as well, but since everyone else had dived in front of him he decided to leave it be. Probably wasn't worth it, anyway.

Perking a brow, his gaze settled on Mo as she spoke to him again. A smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth. "You missed out too, I see."
