࿇ Inka was looking down at the planted seed when Nekita revealed what she was doing, the genin tilting his head as he thought of something that could help Nekita's decision with planting trees that would replace the ones that were maimed in their battle. But his words were cut short by the sound of the fan hitting the water, and Inka had to close his eyes and mouth and bow his head for a second before speaking - the memories were still so fresh, too fresh to be ignored, and he always worked too hard to let them surface in his nightmares. "The ashes," He started, voice strained but easing of trees - they fertilise the ground. That's why there are contained forest fires; to allow new growth. The trees that were destroyed, I can burn them, and you can keep the fires from spreading by using water." Inka paused, dark eyes looking off to the side, away from the water, head resting on an arm as he lay sprawled out on the ground.

Nodding her head in understanding, Nekita rose from her seated position, shaking the water off from her legs before turning to run into the forest. Along the way, she spread out the seeds along the embankment, gathering as much wood as she could before returning to Inka's spot. Dumping the first load onto the non-flammable sand, she skipped back up to gather another bundle, returning with a pile that she couldn't even see around. Letting that one, too, fall to the sand, Nekita ran off to her handy-dandy trunk. Popping it open, she deposited the genjutsu scroll from its lid & picked out several elemental scrolls, clicking it shut when she was finished. Mere moments later, Nekita skipped over the kindling with the scrolls in arms, her cheeriness had slightly returned. "I brought all the elemental scrolls for us," she announced, "so that we can practice on the kindling." Spinning on her heels, Nekita placed them on a wide, flat rock away from both the stream & the fire, unfurling them for an easier reading. "I'll have to learn a few new jutsus to handle the task. Do you want to pick anything out?"

Nodding to Inka's approval, Nekita replied, "Just a few moments to learn these two jutsus, if you could?" Looking down at the lists, she picked out the definitions & stood to the side.
Holding her hand up in the air, Nekita concentrated on forming water from nothing. Feeling the Suiton chakra build up within her, she directed it towards her outstretched hand, wanting for it to simply appear. When nothing occured but a pain sensation, she shook out her hand & rose the other to try again. This time, she focused on the rushing current just to her side, the stream's verbal strength going through to her practice. Welling up another batch of chakra, she directed it along the necessary routes. Suddenly, a ball of just formed water surrounded her hand, dripping about more than actually doing much. Letting it go, she dried off her hand & put up the first one to try one last time. Focusing more on the actual rushing of water, Nekita concentrated on the outflowing more than the creation. Letting loose the last bit of chakra, a stream of water shot out from her hand, flying out over the embankment to soak the planted seeds. (3/3)
Stopping the water jutsu, Nekita rubbed her hands together & thought about the next technique, Doroku Gaeshi. Squatting, she grabbed the earth & heaved with all her might. Hands flying up into the air, she fell on to her backside, the jutsu having not successfully being activated. Picking herself back up, she patted herself down & removed the rubish that had collected. With more gusto in her swing, she squatted over & grabbed the ground once more. Pulling again, a wall of earth rose up, 5x5 & 3 inches thick. (2/2)
"I'm ready now," Nekita called out to Inka. "Whenever you're ready!"

࿇ Inka sat back on his heels, but not before picking up one of the chilli bombs Nekita had offered him earlier, rolling it over in his hands gently, carefully, not wanting to set it off and have a repeat of last time. At least they were already at the water's edge, so Inka could just dunk his head right under. As Nekita continued with her jutsu practice, Inka started rummaging through his pouches, wondering if he had any room on him at the moment for seven extra bombs. He couldn't be bothered resorting his neatly packed gear, so he just set the bombs off to the side, in a small basin of wet sand, so no sparks could get to them and set them off. Dark eyes looked up to his teacher before glancing back down to the kindling.
"Right." He said, hands coming together, chakra molding in his lungs. Leaning down and tilting his head to the side Inka spat out a small burst of flame, wondering if he'd need a stronger burst to get the kindling going - depending on how dry it was.

Having been earlier coated by the Kirigakure no Jutsu, the damp branches simply refused to take hold of the flames while the thin leaves whithered & blackened. Noticing the moisture build-up on the branches, Nekita hopped over to Inka's side, but still giving him enough space to be comfortable. "Can you make it last a little longer?" she asked, hoping that the extended duration would dry them out quickly. "Try to refine the chakra internally. It should bump up the attack grade to D-ranked while keeping it only for an E-ranked cost." Giving him some room to try again, Nekita took a few steps over to the pile, grabbing the ground & raising it with Doroku Gaeshi on three seperate sides. With the last side open towards Inka, it looked like a small kiln, ready to accept a heat source. Rubbing her two hands together to rid them of the ground, Nekita backed off to just behind her student, for safety's sake.

Picking up the sense that Inka had been able to successfully condense the chakra to a higher grade, Nekita looked over to the kindling as the flame stayed lit for a longer time. Shielding her eyes momentarily with a sleeve as the temperature spiked from the retraining, she thought of how a fan would be great to help the flames. It wasn't necessary though, as the lighter, thinner branches dried out & took hold. "Such an larger burst!" she exclaimed, her voice obviously filled full from smiling. Clapping, she took off to retrieve another bundle full of smaller kindling while the pile's larger branches dried. "Feel free to practice some more, if you want," her voice carried over the small crackling of the flames as she bounded off to return soon enough. Given some time later, she'd arrive with more in her arms, tossing them into the make-shift kiln before sitting down on the beach to wait for the ash.

࿇ The flame took to the kindling after the slightly stronger flash of heat lit up right in front of Inka's face. Any normal human would have flinched or at least backed away so the heat didn't dry out their eyeballs. But Inka was trained to be resilient to heat, so he didn't move, gently blowing on the small flame, making sure it was firmly established amongst the damp kindling before he pulled back. Eyes flicked up to Nekita in surprise at the obvious praise of his strengthening the Jutsu. He wasn't used to such... naked emotion. Inka blinked, face showing his mild shock. "Oh, uh, sure." The genin said slowly, dark eyes watching the cheery woman skip off back into the forest. He looked down to the fire, mind turning its focus back on to the task at hand. Right, we got to burn down those fallen trees, so new offshoots can sprout. Inka closed his eyes as Nekita approached, training chakra into his lungs, playing with it as the woman had suggested after the first time he had used it.

Happy to see that the Katon training was going well, Nekita looked over to the open scrolls, perusing them to pass the time. Glancing quickly back up to the fire, to Inka, & then back to the scrolls, she nodded her head. "I'm not sure how long it takes to make the ash," Nekita started, "could you tell me when you think it's done, please? I trust your judgements." Rolling through one of the scrolls, she came upon Hekireki Koe no Jutsu, to help with her singing. Since people would be able to know her location anyways from her vocal music, it might as well be painful to listen to! The genjutsu is very simple, the scroll said, indicating that the amplitude of the voice would be increased significantly. It is usually used by academy teachers to awaken students, but Nekita had other uses for it. She would be able to combo it in with the Distortion Jutsu to make for interesting results, as well as other reaction time based jutsus. Understanding it completely & without hesitation, the put the scroll back down beside the others and looked back up at what the fire may have advanced to. (2/2)
