Pausing the Minotaur gave a look around. He seemed to be in serious thought for a moment before he finally declared, "I don't know." In a cheerful manner. "Why don't we try down this way?" Turning left the minotaur continued on his way leaving the other two to follow. "No...maybe this isn't the way." He gave a good look around. "I seem to remember this way is out, so that way is probably to B-4 maybe?" He pointed the other way. Obviously he was turned around.

Blade stared at the minotaur who seemed to have absolutely no idea where they were headed. However, the key words 'this way is out' caught his attention moreso than anything else said thus far. Since they were so close to the exit, he just went ahead and tugged at Riyo's sleeve before breaking off into a sprint towards the door. He let out a small grunt of pain as he did so, clutching his chest but kept going.

Riyo had heard the key words as well. Blade hadn't needed to tug her sleeve. She'd been staring right at it.

For the split second before she darted as well, her mind furiously questioned what lay on the other side of that door....

No time to ponder though. As Blade took off, she followed as fast as her legs would carry. Before they were out of the door, she shouted "SORRY 'BOUT THE DINNER, I'M SURE IT WOULD'VE BEEN DELICIOUS!"

She actually felt guilty about leaving the minotaur in the dust. He really seemed like a great guy who could've used a good conversation...

But a strange feeling struck her as they were about to leap out of the door.

I'll be back here.

It wasn't a question. It was a dead certainty. Her time at this sadistic place was far from up... Perhaps, that's why the man with no name did not object to her leaving.

Perhaps it was best that they hadn't been able to shake on that deal yet...

In blank confusion the minotaur stayed in place. "Where are you going?" But that answer came all too soon when the sorry about dinner phrase came back in his direction. "W...wait!" He started after them but it may have already been to late. There was nothing beyond those doors for miles. It was one of the many things he didn't understand.

The door that lay ahead held a stair case that seemed to go up with no end. Rigged into the door was an alarm so as soon as the door was open the halls would be a mess of lights and sirens. At the end of that staircase, however, lay freedom. It would lead them out into the midst of wreckage of old Galloway. All around them would be the runes of buildings, that being the only thing visible under all the snow. The thick power had covered all else long ago.

Practically bursting through the door, Blade noticed the drop in temperature on the other side... as well as the alarms that were not blaring.

"Figures..." he uttered under his breath before staring up at the stairs leading up. After shooting a glance at Riyo and over his shoulder to see if the minotaur was still behind, he grabbed a hold of the railing and started his way up. Running was bad enough for him at first, and now he had to go up these stairs.

Up at the top, he ended up dropping to his knees, doubled over while clutching his chest. It really wasn't too good of an idea for him to be running around while still injured. If that wasn't bad enough, he noticed that there was snow. Everywhere. And it was freezing cold.

"This place really is hell.." he said while gritting his teeth and trying to push aside the pain.

Riyo had made her way up the stairs with ease, using her tail to balance instead of the rail. The sound of the alarms were so loud they made her temporarily deaf. It was a pleasant reprieve, she supposed.

As she saw Blade collapse in front of her, she braced herself for the pain she was about to experience, threw her arms out in front of her, and scooped the full grown man up into her arms. "No time for that!" She shouted, her face cringing from not only the movement of her arms but the weight she was now carrying.

If Suto hadn't known they were running already, he certainly did now.

The next few steps she took made her realize just how cold it was out in this place. "We're so screwed." Riyo managed to hiss, her eyes narrowing towards the wind slapping at her face.

Blade was about to try and force himself to run again when he was suddenly scooped up by Riyo. Grunting, he slowly lifted up his hands from his chest, noting the blotch of red in his palms. Well that was great.

Gritting his teeth, he felt the blistering cold winds go straight through to his bones. He said nothing in return to Riyo's comment; quite frankly he wasn't sure how they were going to manage it either.

"Put me down," he hissed in a mixture of pain and cold, "I can run now..."

Adrenaline and the temperature was helping numbing out the pain. The thief didn't think that he would be able to run as fast as he normally could, but he didn't want Riyo to be wasting more energy than she needed by carrying him. While he had the chance, he looked around and tried to asset where they were exactly. Never been in this area before, but it seemed it was a ruined city far northeast. Perhaps they could find a road or something along those lines if that was the case.

Riyo had no problems putting him down when he asked to be put down. It was letting him down gently that was the problem. She did her best to not jut toss him down, but when he gave her the okay, her arms pretty much just gave out and stayed limp at her sides.

"S'cuse me for a second." Turning around for a second, she let out a very loud exclamation of pain, then let out a sigh and turned around. "Okay. Lets keep running then." Her teeth chattered slightly as she spoke. She could already feel the cold start getting to her.

Landing with a light thud, Blade grunted and nursed his side as Riyo had to let out a scream of pain. Once they were both ready he started running once again, gritting his teeth in the process. The cold was mind-numbing for him. At his birthplace, it snowed during the winters but it was never this cold.

He was not looking forward to nightfall. No doubt the temperature would be even more unbearable then.

As he ran, he went ahead and threw on his normal coat, leaving the crispy labcoat behind. With how burnt the thing was, it really wasn't going to be helping them stay warm that much more.

The streets that once were here were at least still visible to some extent, giving him somewhat of an idea for a path. But with the sun high above their heads, he didn't have much of an idea where west was. It probably didn't help that his mind was not all too clear any more with everything going on.

The abandoned city gave Riyo a feeling of deep emptiness. The ruins of what one could assume to be a place booming with life now dead and buried in white.

"It's like w-walking through a dream..." She mumbled to herself, red eyes exploring the terrain. What had happened to these people?

... She didn't have to wonder very long. This city being so close to that place probably meant that Suto had something to do with it.

It made her think of the village. How desolate that place was now... How tainted the ground felt. This place... It wasn't so different.

"One hell of a c-cold dream..." mumbled Blade as he wrapped his arms around himself to try and conserve his body heat. He really wanted to try and set himself on fire to help warm him, but he knew such attempts would only drain him further. Every step he took seemed to sap more of him, even as his pace slowed down.

"D-damn that devil..." he uttered under his breath. The scientist had experimented on Mitsu, abducted him and some of his friends, tortured him, and he just HAD to build his secret laboratory in the middle of a frozen wasteland. Right now he felt more resentment towards the guy for that last fact.

The emptiness of the land just made it seem colder too.

Riyo couldn't really say the cold didn't bother her, but to say it bothered her slightly less than Blade would be accurate. When you live in the forest for a long time, the cold is tolerable as long as there's something covering your body... Though, this was an all new level of cold... She was starting to lose feeling inside her boots, which was a bit of a problem...

They continued on for some time, though Blade wasn't sure how far they had traveled. Slowly his vision had begun to blur and he wasn't registering much of his surroundings. His skin was likely as pale as the snow around him, save for his lips which had a hint of blue to them now. He tried to push his body to continue forth, but his pace had pretty much come to a stop. Most likely he was lagging behind Riyo to some extent.

"R..riyo... I'm sorry..."

Unable to go on, he collapsed face first into the snow. The thief's body shook violently as he laid there, but he didn't move otherwise.

Their progress had slowed down substantially due to Blade's lagging. When he had started to walk behind her, Riyo would make sure to look back every 10 steps to make sure he wasn't lost to the snow. She was on the 5th step when she heard a faint "I'm sorry." from just behind. "No!" She shouted as she redirected to the sound of a soft thud on the covered ground. Her eyes widened as she stared at Blade's form now twitching in the snow. She made an effort not to stare for too long and rushed over to him. "Y-y-you're not S-sorry yet." Was all that managed to come out of her mouth as she picked him up again, though it was a little bit harder now that he was as good as dead weight.

Damn it.

As they continued the journey two feet short and a new load to manage, Riyo's arms screamed at her with every pile of snow crushed under her boots, though it kept her going. While everything else was numb, her arms were busy shouting obscenities at her. It was enough to drive her insane (if she wasn't already past that point).

Which led her to have a crazy idea. Being mindful of the man in her arms, she carefully summoned her black liquid. Though, instead of using it to create a monstrosity, it wrapped around her like clothing. It wasn't much, but enough to take away some of the wind. Yes, it would drain her a little faster, but the option of freezing to death wasn't any worse than falling asleep and freezing to death.

When she'd Almost lost hope that they'd make it out of this situation alive, Riyo spotted a small dwelling with most of it's architecture still in tact. It was like a golden vision of a sanctuary... "W-we're gonna b-be alr-r-right..." Was the only thing she had managed to say in awhile, though she didn't suppose it mattered. Without another second wasted, the popsicle of a girl rushed into the building and closed the door behind her.

The shelter on the inside looked rather shanty and held no warmth to it as of yet, but it looked like there was a place for fire on the wall. Thank God.

There was a small blotch of red in the snow after the thief was lifted up. All of the movement had tore at his wound somewhat. The cold air helped keep the blood from flowing too much but some did trickle out.

As they traveled, Blade was completely out of it. His vitals were weak, his body was cool, and he kept shivering like mad. The man's dark red eyes were opened halfway but he wasn't seeing anything. There seemed to be no changes to him as they reached some form of shelter.
