Alpha: Like Shooting Fish In a Barrel... maybe not

Evie arched an eyebrow out of interest listening to Carlos educate her on the beauty of Cicadas. A grin spread across her lips liking the sound of a challenge. He knew her well. This was something she would never say no to. And something she wouldn't quit attempting until she was successful. Evie never gave up. There was always a way to win even when hunting little buggers.

Now, when it came to him blowing the dart at her. She can't say that she was un-surprised. His back had been to her so she could only hear what he was doing. Her reflexes and senses were abnormally quick so she heard the object come towards her. She didn't move, though. Things were so calm and quiet right now that she had a clear focus on the dart. The trajectory on it would miss her so she wasn't worried. And even if it did hit her, she'd pull it out and heal. Evie was so used to pain in battle that the smaller things didn't phase her much. Sad when somebody at the age of 20 builds up a tolerance to pain.

She pulled it out of the door frame and looked at it. She walked towards him, "Impressive as always. Was your aim dead on or an inch off?" She looked at him sideways through her glasses with that playful arch of her eyebrow she always gave.

"Ah, V... nobody has called me V or Vi in years. Wasn't that long ago I was the purple haired dare devil nobody can put their finger on let alone get away with landing a dart within an inch of my hand." She gladly took the weapon from his hand and wondered how many attempts it would take to get this right. One of her mutant abilities was adaptation. Evie was very good at realizing what she did wrong consciously or subconsciously and fixing it. This was going to be interesting.

She stopped and listened to the sound of the cicadas and knew that their sound was slightly misleading the way it echoed off the leaves and branches. It wasn't as easy as targeting a person. Looking at the sky she saw the sun's position and then looked at her watch. Looking over her shoulder at Carlos she commented, "Can I convince you to come to the bonfire tonight? Or am I going to stick around here long enough for Bella to send out a search party for us... or at least me." She stuck our her tongue with the last comment and nudged him with her elbow to indicating, again, she was joking. Of course, that joke might be partially true.

The first thing she did was test the speed. Of course, the force and velocity of the dart greatly depending on her own lung power. But that, she knew she could keep steady. So generally she had a good idea of what she was working with. Secondly, she moved towards the lovely leafy tree homes of the cicadas. She closed her eyes and listened for a bit. This helped her visualize and then she was able to use her vision to hone in. Attempt one missed. But she had mistimed herself before the little bugger moved.

"Oh you little buggers stand no chance with me." They were small... maybe only and inch or two. They hid well up in the trees. Attempt two through ten were also failures. It didn't bother her any. Many would get frustrated. She was super-human but not a god. Attempt eleven was hers. Cicada in hand she brought it back to Carlos, "How many do you want? Now that I have this figured out these little guys are screwed."

Alpha - Irresponsibility, Can I make it up?
User Image
Eli listened as his statement heated Kerrigan's mood again. An obvious mistake that he realized. That was one of Eli's issues, he tended to say what was on his mind and said it before he could think about it.

He thought a moment about the bonfire for a moment and looked down to his attire. "Damn it... The rest of my clothes were in my backpack." He said, remembering he left if on the helicopter.

He looked to Wilbur and Leion, "You guys wanna grab a bite to eat before the bonfire?" He asked, his stomach seconding that notion with a growl. "We've got about an hour, nothing big in case they have more food there, you guys in?" His glance also jumped to Jack, Isabella and the most recently arrived Matt, indicating they were invited too.

Eli was trying his best to socialize, he knew that he had trouble socializing, and maybe only had two friends at the academy; if they could be called that at all. On the helicopter ride over the channel he knew it'd be an opportune time to practice his socializing skills, and to be honest, from his recent displays, they weren't that great.

Alpha - Seriously, You People Can Be Too Serious

Jack raised a quizzical brow to Eli, feeling the coldness but otherwise not phased by it as he simply smirked, and patted Kerrigan on top of her head rustling her hair abit. " No reason to get so cold buddy. All fun in games till someone gets maimed. I'm not telling ya off. Just telling you to be ready to run like hell".. His voice boomed just as he removed from his hand from Kerrigan before she left and possibly beat the living daylights out of him. He felt her eyes on him but wasn't sure if that was good or bad considering. Glad that Bella was around to prevent further problems though he looked at the attractive Siryn, he stretched out, being utterly aloof to her pouting and suggestion.

" Will do, lil boss lady... Afterward how about a moonlit walk? You and me?", Jack stuck his tongue out at her to show he was playing. She already made relationship status with him clear, but it was just plain boring to act like it would get him killed for throwing sarcastic suggestions and flirts out. It was easy for him to be friendly enough, if anybody took such comments seriously they were just too tense for this vacation. The thought occurred to him to go to the bonfire tonight, another part of him kinda wanted an early sleep so he can go jogging at sunrise. His heart was fixed but he wasn't use to it. He'd go spend some time, leave early and hopefully wake up on time.

He shrugged as he watched the lot of them wondering how fun it was going to be and more importantly if the two teams could get along. Select Omegas were just scary at times. Their leader was a tad off from what he could see, and even though she she looked at him pleasantly at the beach earlier it still felt like icy daggers. The red head he knew wanted to kill him at times and he liked it that way. She was a barrel of fun, and feisty. He sighed as he looked up. " I really wasn't going to go out till tomorrow anyway, so I'll do just that"

Omega: Show-offs? Yea, It’s kinda our thing.

Jacen cringed slightly, realizing immediately that he had messed up yet another greeting. More than a year on the mainland and he still couldn’t figure how to perform a simple method of greeting. Silly little quirks…

Suamalie, Another Omega to add to the ranks.” Jacen said, smiling warmly to the new recruit. “And yes… It seems most just want to… make a name for themselves, as it were. They all cool down and go with the flow soon enough. With a few exceptions…” Jacen said, with a glance towards Alek’s dormant form.

He looked over to the group the new guys had amassed, scrunching up his eyebrows. “Hey Leion, What’s going on over there?” He called out to the other Omega. This whole beach was abuzz with activity it seemed, and he had heard talk of a bonfire.

Omega: Out of the Loop

She bit her lip while listening to Jacen's explanation of power use. Maybe she was just older than some of them or maybe she just had always been used to keeping her power at bay. Probably more the later. She nodded and said in her thick accent, "Maybe I am just eh, old... old-fashion. Hide your power, my mother always said. Not to give all your secrets to enemy."

"But you are friend. I do this," she held her wrist up that had the cuff bracelet. The metals turned into moving snakes of liquid and reformed the fork back in her hand. With her will she sent it back around her wrist, "Student watch too much tv. Say I metal bend. From some cartoon."

In the best fashion she knew she waved to all the new people and said, "Come, let us eat. Best way to make new friend, through food."

She didn't really care who was on what team. They were all X-Men. As long as people did their job and stopped spraying sand in her face, they would be fine... until they proved to be not worth her worry. For now, they were all worth her worry. After all, under the line of fire everybody was needed.

ALPHA maybe going out tonight? User Image

Wilbur stepped out from behind his shield of bodies to see that Kerrigan was not going to beat him up as he’d originally assumed. She was mad, but that was totally reasonable. Hoshi offered a tour of the teams, and this time Wilbur couldn’t disagree, he’d wanted to know more about Narcissa and some of the other Alphas.

“Yeah, sure! You know, I think this whole X-Men thing is gonna work out. Haven’t even made it to the academy and I’m already enjoying myself.” He smiled. Eli’s offer to go to town for the day sounded incredibly nice at the moment, but before he could jump for joy, Isabella shot down his hopes and basically told him they were marooned on the island until daybreak. Now, he wasn’t the least bit upset that they were having a bonfire, it’s just that the thought of walking in the fancy shops and town specialties just sounded much more fun.

“Tell me at the bonfire?” Wilbur asked Hoshi. “I don’t want any more interruptions,” he laughed, “I think this crowd’s a bit too unpredictable.”

Not fifteen seconds after Wilbur mentioned the group’s unpredictability, Eli offered him and Leion the chance to go get food before the bonfire. He let himself laugh a little at how spot on he was about the group. “Um, I don’t mind. I wanted to go for a walk anyhow. I’ll go if it’s you and Leion,” He turned to Hoshi. “Are you down too?” Slowly, Wilbur could see some close ties forming within his team, he just hoped it would be the same at school.

Omega - Gone Fishin

Carlos faked a smirk. " If I wanted to hit you, I would. I did come close more then twice with that one game. And finally got it.". He was of course referring tot he high school bet of stealing a kiss from her. He had to surprise her at a pool event but it was fair. He came at her through a wall one time and close but she seemingly over reacted then and judo flipped him onto his back. good times. While she went off with her focus placed he went back to work sharpening a stick, amongst other things to prepare. He could hear some of her attempts but had not comments or real advice for her beyond what he told her already. When she came back with one on a barb he took it and without hesitation plucked the large vainy wings off, then put it off onto a larger skewer for the roasting.

He was glad that even though she probably wasn't counting on it that the bug was dead with the shot she placed. as loud as the things are to be misleading they could be quite irritating quite close and even deafening. Thinking back to her question he rolled it around in his head and found an answer for her. " You really couldn't convince me even if you offered I was to be a judge at a wet Bikini contest V. I have no real reason to go back. It was really clear I wasn't Needed or wanted.", what feelings he possessed showed as he spoke, referring to what Cissa said to him last before he left. It hurt far more then she knew, far more then he allowed himself to feel as he was. All the reason he wasn't too intent on fixing himself.

He looked back at Evie, blank as he handed her more darts that he had made while she went to catch the first one. " I'd say seven more. I'll hopefully get three fish by then." . The nicknamed rolled off his tongue easier. Evie's reminisce over over her nickname didn't pass over him but he had little to comment on it. Vacation, why be formal in slightest with good friends? It was another thing peeving him all this time. He let it go and went back to prepping for his spear fishing. If the Fish weren't here he could to with a few crabs though already they were gonna have something crunchy to eat. And reptiles here were either too small or protected. He stood up with his newly made implement and knife.

Without another word to Evie, He headed towards a rock near the water to scout for a reef to hunt at. He had things set in his head prepared to counter Evie knowing as stubborn as she could be if she really wanted him to go to a bonfire she would follow him. He was going to be equally stubborn, and unwavering in his decision. The Amount of apathy generated in the sad state he was in, was enough to make sure of it. She wouldn't give up still he knew. But then She'd have to make the choice of either knocking him out or dragging him back or backing off and going so she herself doesn't miss it. This was all in his head, but it helped to be prepared. Always.

He spotted a multi colored patch out in the water a short distance away from the shore. He could see the small movement just under the waves and tried to judge size from it. There was larger life further out, sharks or dolphins he guessed. Not a problem so long as he wasn't a fish or bled out. He's hunted two sharks in water, the first was small, the second time not so fun and a friend lost an arm. From what he knew about this area he wouldn't want to bother with it. He stretched himself before biting down on the knife blade and jumping into the water spear in hand to swim towards the reef. Hoping to make it back and have enough of a catch to impress Evie out of talking him to going back. if She wasn't chasing after him to watch and do that anyway.

Omega - Finishing up food... lingering

The moment he noticed that his friends and himself were being watched, Christian felt uneasy. Not that he wasn’t used to being targeted by folks, but why now? Did their group look THAT touristy? Shandra told him he didn’t miss much in his brief absence aside from their dinners being brought, which set him slightly at ease.

To his surprise, Christian didn’t mind eating a meal with everyone today. Normally, he’d at least eat one meal by himself. It was just the way he was. He firmly believed that it was best to eat a solitary meal out of the way from everyone. The best to sit down and read a paper, book, or even to just collect his thoughts. Lord knows he had a lot of them to try and collect anymore.

After a small spell of time, their server noticed they were all done eating and dutifully picked up the empty flatware. The conversations at the table were beginning to wind back up again, yet Christian was remaining silent. He couldn’t wrap his head around why it was the four of them were being scoped out by that group. Was it something that Shandra did before she joined them for dinner? Were they being singled out from all the rest of the crowd around them because of their youth? He could only guess that was the case, and the fact that the gang had maybe the cajones the size of cantaloupes… not that Christian would be useful in any regards due to his injury.

His train of thought was derailed yet again when Shandra sparked up conversation again, bringing up the idea of walking around for a spell. It made sense. It gave time for people’s stomachs to settle and to enjoy the time they were spending together. Christian voiced his agreement with that, and leaned back in his seat slightly. He was relatively stuffed now, and could definitely use a nap sometime in the near future.

Again, the group was interrupted when their server came back to the table and deposited the bill in between the four of them. It looked like everyone was going to reach for it at once when Christian flat out said, “I’ve got this folks… no worries.” As he was assessing the monetary damages, he felt a set of eyes on him again, this time from someone close. When he looked to his right, he saw Shandra looking at him with intent. After he put what money he owed for the meal into the small server book, he looked the redhead straight in the eye.

“That’s half the fun of being out and about right?,” Christian replied, “Finding surprises along the way.” The way he said it kind of surprised him. Gone was the relatively happy tone he had a bit ago. Now he was on edge. He was prepping himself mentally for what may happen. He didn’t answer the first question purposefully. Christian knew he wanted to try and replace the rod and reel he lost previously, but there would be plenty of time to work on that while on vacation.

While they continued to sit there, Christian took note of the fact that the sun was almost completely out of the sky and the moon was starting to ascend to its position in the night’s sky. As he sat there and after he was watching the stars appear in the sky as well, he found his gaze falling back onto Sophia. He knew he was going to try and stick somewhat close to the lass, considering that they were all being tailed. Not too close, however. He didn’t want to have her worry. Judging by the way Shandra was speaking with him, she knew what the deal was. Two people in the know, for now, would have to be enough.

Alpha: Pondering

The first real emotion she had heard from him was his response about the bonfire. The change in his inflections didn't fall on deaf ears. Her eyes looked down behind her dark sunglasses so he probably didn't see the look of concern she wore. Her eyes studied him very closely and the lines on her forehead probably did show some concern. Evie didn't always have a poker face.

She did, though, like him calling her by her old nickname. It made her feel welcome. Aside from Bella and Gideon, she hadn't had time or the ability to feel welcome on the team again. It would come. Baby steps. She still had demons to fight off not proud of how she left things.

Evie respected his decision and didn't want to force the issue. But it broke her heart hearing how he felt. She loved Cissa, she really did. But she hated seeing the lack of warmth on a team. No matter what anybody did, no matter the situation, Evie had always made people feel needed on the Alphas and wanted. She could only assume that Bella carried that tradition on. There was a reason they had been friends for so long.

She looked at the blow gun in her hand and then back out at Carlos not sure what she wanted to do. Yes, she was always the one to push until she broke somebody's stubbornness... but was that the right thing to do here. Evie also was one to act on impulse and instinct. This time she acted on impulse without much thought.

She put down the weapons handed to her with every intention to go back to finish the job. Her sunglasses and denim shorts were also left behind. Evie walked down down to the water sporting her black bikini and her light eyes squinting due to the harsh sun. Standing on top of the rock, she watched what he was doing. For a moment she wondered if her stealth applied to water. Sliding into the water she swam under the water as long as she could out towards his location. She surfaced and swam over to him.

Evie didn't say anything. Sometimes actions were stronger. Putting a finger on the two ends of the blade she waited for Carlos to let go of it with his teeth. Once he did she put a hand behind his neck and pressed her lips against his deep down knowing that this lone action can potentially put a target on her back and not caring. Letting go she whispered, "You are always welcome, wanted and needed where I am."

She handed him back the knife and said, "That is all. Carry on." Diving back down under the water she headed towards shore to finish her job.

Alphas:Food is always a good thing

Hoshi gave Wilbur a fangy smile. It was a talent she'd acquired a few years ago and it amused her sisters to no end. "yeah, I'll tell you at the bonfire... and I'll give you a rundown on why we're on vacation in the first place..." She had to think about the offer to go to get food with the guys for a few minutes. Then she shrugged inwardly. She did need friends and the last six weeks hadn't really been conductive to making friends amongst her teammates.

"Sure, I'm Starving." she said as she realized how true it was. "Let me go change first." She said as she lifted into the air and flew up to the house through her bedroom window. She quickly shimmied into a kimono like dress and rejoined the guys as she pull her long hair into a ponytail."Ready!" She announced cheerfully.

Alpha: Skirting Through Dinner
User Image
“Bonfire at Descanso Beach in an hour!”, she called into the comm link on her wrist, sending out at all call to both Alpha and Omega.. Since sometimes word of mouth wasn’t good enough.

Bella felt bad for ruining the trip to the main land…But she wasn’t even entirely sure of they WOULD be allowed that far away, especially with newly promoted Alpha’s under her wing. Despite the fact that they were on vacation…She had rules to follow, as always. Separating from the group put them at risk…Someone always wanted to serve the X-Men up on a silver platter rare for some reason or another. To have a bunch of new baby lambs was fun, and exciting, but also a liability. Mainly, because they never understood their own limitations till they smacked into them.

She prodded Eli gently… “Lighten up…It’ll be fine.”

Her head tilted, a little too sharply at hearing Jack…Mostly because she was worried if Gideon was within hearing distance. Worried for Jack, that is. Her eyes rolled heavenward… “Yes, I’ll get right on that moon lit walk…”

“You warn Eli about crossing Narcissa… But… Really? Have you met Gideon?”
, depending on her significant others mood… That would determine whether Jack met with the noogie of his life, ignorance, or a swift punch. Perhaps it wasn’t the promise of death in the dust way Narcissa delivered it… But death by noogie could be just as painful.

“You aren’t interrupting…”, she spoke to Matthew, taking her arm from around Eli’s shoulders to shake his hand. “I’m Bella… This is Kerrigan, Wilbur, Hoshi, Jack, Leion, and Eli…”, she pointed out—Including anyone else not listed above.

“We were just about to get some dinner… And then go to the bonfire. All you really need to worry about is relaxing… We can get to the heavy stuff later on.”

She smiled at the assembled group… Wilbur, if you, Matthew, or Eli need a change of clothes—I’m sure we can find you something inside if need be… Otherwise, meet all of you soon.”

**

SMALL TIME SKIP

**

Bella assisted anyone that needed help with clothing, there was always something spare on hand in the Condo and then she herself got dressed to go to the beach. Bella put on a slightly over sized blouse over a pair of black denim daisy dukes, her feet kept safe by a pair of pink flip flops. She didn’t feel the need to dress nicely for a bonfire… You’d just end up smelling like smoke and burning wood anyway.

They finished dinner early, and the group that traveled with her arrived just as the sun finished setting, and the bonfire was up in a blaze.

Bella had never seen a fire so big that wasn’t a burning building.

Either way there was loud music, and people dancing everywhere. She was willing to bet that very few of the drinks, if any, were actually safe to drink anymore. Spiking drinks was something that just came with the territory of being almost twenty one, but not quite for her… She’d learned to be wary of it, but it was clear some people were having toooo good a time. Immediately she worried that Alek might become one of those people.

Not everyone was sitting or dancing near the main fire, some people had started smaller one’s, or sat around talking in quieter area’s… It seemed very laid back, a nice breeze in the air.

Sophie kept up a simple chatter going, filling the air with small tidbits of information and quotes—Her happy voice in complete contrast to what two of her companions were thinking. She knew that she was…Missing something, by the way that they talked, but she didn’t know what. Sophia was too…Gentle, to suspect that someone may or may not be following them.

She frowned, faintly, when Christian paid… She hadn’t expected him to… Especially not because what she had ordered hadn’t been cheap. But to complain of him, or to argue about the bill would have—Probably just made an unnecessary scene. Christian was stubborn.

So once the bill was paid, and dinner was over, it was with a wide smile and a full stomach that she picked up her small handbag and danced towards the exit, hopefully with her friends in tow. So it was that she even got outside the restaurant, and waited the scant seconds it would take them to catch up.

“Where should we go first?"
, she questioned, her accent stressing some parts of her sentence more than others. It was clear that she wasn’t from the area, especially with the Creole lilt to her… It was probably Sophia that gave them away the most as being tourists. She was, for the most part, awed by everything that shined and sparkled.

It was when she was about to unthinkingly head towards the first booth she saw when her comm link went off with Bella’s voice: Bonfire at Descanso Beach in an hour—That she paused and pressed her hand on her purse to drown out her voice. They were supposed to keep low key, how could they do that with their comm’s going off?

She looked around, hoping everyone around her would think it was one of those walky talky Nextel cell phones…When her eyes landed on a group of individuals not far from them. It was strange, because the entire group stared in her direction. Confused, Sophie looked around her…Wondering what there was to look at, before realizing that they really WERE looking at her, and her friends.

And that she had more than likely just given them away.

A little afraid, she tried to cover her blunder with a bright smile and pointed towards a booth selling charms… All the while making sure that she was planted firmly beside either Shandra, Antonio, or Christian. She wished Raine were there. She knew now, that this was what she had been missing at the table.

Le merde…Ah’m an idiote…”, she muttered just under her breath, taking down a charm of a kitten to show to Shandra.

We should…We should head towards the bonfire. Our friends will meet us there, non?”, she questioned flippantly, hoping she wasn’t being as obvious as she thought she was.

There were signs that pointed towards the correct Beach…But it pointed towards several darkened area’s…That didn’t seem good…She swallowed hard as she put the charm back and grabbed another, nervous as her fingers trembled slightly.

What did they want, that they would stare at them so—Had they done something wrong?

Eli looked around the bonfire at the faces, scanning for the 4 other girls who may attempt to seek revenge on him from today's earlier sand incident. He continued his scan and wove his way through the crowd of people reaching the drinks. He picked up a cup and sniffed it. Spiked. He picked up several others and sniffed them as well.

Several seconds passed by as they found an alcohol -free. He moved his way to the bonfire and stood in the path of the smoke. He loved the smell of burning wood and fire, especially beach fire because of the salt water scented compliments.

Omega - To the Bonfire - There Had Better Be S'mores
User Image

Maddy had broken off from the group soon enough and promised them that she would find them at the bonfire. The girl had just gone back into the condo, dripping all over the floor on her way to her room. There she tried to shake she sand off herself but gave up and opted for a shower. She simply stood in the bathroom for the majority off the time until her skin was nearly all red not from sunburn but from the hot water. When the door opened from her leaving steam poured out into the air-conditioned hall. She dried off and changed into a pair off black capris and threw on an old Led Zeppelin t-shirt.

She nuked some taquitos in the kitchen and returned to her room to eat them there with a glass of chocolate milk. There she stayed reading over a book on physical diagnosis her uncle had sent her until the light started to go down in her room, and she noticed that it was almost time to head to the beach. Maddy hoped somebody had some marshmallows to bring.

She trekked down the beach by herself, but she could see a small group with Bella not too far in the distance. The beach was a nice one, though she hadn't been expecting other people there besides the X-Men. Well, at least she had brought her own bottle of soda. Maddy never drank. She valued her brain cells, but she'd been to some concerts back in Boston [which seemed to be in a different galaxy from here in California] where stupidity ensued.

Maddy sighed slightly and began to walk through the center of the grouping looking for others. She'd lost track of Isabella's group right off. There was a group of boys in tank-tops with two ditsy looking girls, one blond, one brunette, that beckoned her over. She simply acted like she hadn't seen them and went on.

On the beach - Cut short

User Image

Shandra stayed silent as Christian went to pay for dinner. The jester was subtle, and she was just rather thankful that nothing was actually said about it. Making a big scene out of his generosity would have been a waste. Despite the fact that she had no part in the cost, it was just nice no one rose a stink over someone paying for someone else.

"Surprises, I've found, aren't that fun till you get to look back on them," Shandra said calmly, her words meaning nothing more than the truth as she saw it. "I think I'd rather know where things are headed, or what has happened...so much less trouble."

She stood up and took a calming breath as dusk settled in. The air distinctly had that sea quality as they were surrounded with it, but she could almost detect the feeling of the pollution that was wafting over from the LA area. It wasn't long after that, that Sophia took the lead in going to the first shop.

But somewhere between the first shop and them leaving the cafe, the girl had finally noticed what was going on. Maybe the cat trinket she picked up had given her the clue...or maybe someone had told a weed on the ground their secrets. Either way, at least the flower had been told. They walked in quiet for a moment, till Bella's voice from Sophia's comm.

A Bonfire...quaint...almost as much as the fact that Sophia had picked up a cat icon to show her.

"You're not stupid," Shandra said comfortingly, "a lot of people have a weakness for cat figurines."

But what Sophia did offer next, about going to the bonfire, made logical sense. Yet...they still had plenty of time, technically. And she did have one thing she wanted to get...still...the group behind them wasn't leaving. It didn't look like they were going to in the least. They were instantiate. And she had a feeling that the falling sun was going to afford them more courage.

The shadowed pathways were only going to encourage them more. But the shops were closing down anyways...and it was best to pull the splinter soon after it entered when one figured out it was indeed a splinter.

Just meant she was going to go later that night to get what she had wanted...

"Alright, lets go," Shandra said kindly towards Sophia.

She let go a small trinket that she'd been playing with at the open shop of the rather country like market place and started towards where one of the signs were pointing. Rather the group followed her at once or not...she was playing to draw the stalkers away more. She loosened her walk, leading with her hips swaying a bit more than she normally did, her feet lightly crossing in front of the other. She knew how to move her body, it was one of the things she found was emphasized when she practiced anything physical, but she had to say that walking like a different kind of girl was strange. There was almost a swaying hypnotic effect to it.

Looked like she'd at least got the stalking group's main eye as they started to follow her into the darkened pathway. Without turning around she stopped, knowing that the new mini-bad-guys were behind her just from the sounds they were making.

In a few minutes, she had a feeling that she should be feeling sorry for them. Not that she would...but that she, as a "human" being, should...

big difference.

"You really shouldn't try anything you know...it would be safer if you just walked away."

There, her one warning...now if they did try to do anything...at least they couldn't say she didn't warn them. Were they going to?

Judging by the sound of snickers and a step forward...That group of thugs would never know what had hit them. But then again, they probably just thought she was a helpless girl away from home just trying to be brave.

It almost made her want to pity them.

Shandra's eyes glowed in the darkness, their luminescent quality as apparent as the sun during the daytime. She wasn't going to turn around to give them the clue that she wasn't what they'd call normal. No...they wanted to attack a girl and her friends in a dark alley they were going to find out that not all people couldn't bite back harder than they could.
