Korsu watched Suzuka as the others left. He broke his gaze when Gitano patted him on the head and he briefly smiled at him. Once they had left, he stood up and moved to one of the counters, Lifting himself up onto and he sat on it, his legs dangling.
He heard her question as he was moving and he cocked his head to the right slightly, thinking of how to answer. "Youngest actually. I'm only 15 years old." he started, "Your Grandfather picked me up from off the streets about a year ago. He saved my life really. Don't think I would have lived long without him."
He thought that was a safe enough answer. He figured from the troubled look on Therin's face, the letter was something that troubled him greatly. He was curious as to what it was but he also watched Suzuka, wondering if she suspected anything about their true natures.

Therin flopped onto the couch Gitano was leaning on. "He certainly did," she replied with a weary chuckle. She had to think about it for a moment. Even her roomier-than-human mind was rather overtaxed at the moment. "I don't know. I have not idea myself how to tell her, but I know she has to be told, and soon. It's just too difficult to tiptoe around the truth all the time. Maybe it would be for the better to give her the letter and then be near to help explain. Unless you have a better idea?"
Suzuka watched Korsu hop on the counter. She hung her head a bit in sympathy at his short tale. "That's so sad. I may never really have had anyone to look after me, but at least I always had a safe place to live and plenty of food and stuff.." She shook her head and took a bite of her food.
Figuring that he probably wouldn't want to talk much about that topic with a practical stranger, she decided to change the subject. "So... what's life like around here? You know I never really knew my grandfather..."
(A question and a request: Should we wait for Stephisgarden (Arisu) to show up or continue on? And if we're going to be giving Usagi's letter to Suzuka, I'll need some idea of what's in it, which means back stories on how ya'll came to be with him as well as anything else would be in the note.)

He had taken his time about feeding, going far out of the town to the rural farm area beyond to stalk out a potential meal. A smile had touched his lips when he'd passed the home of a little girl he'd 'rescued' a few months before hand. She'd gotten lost in her family's wheat fields after dark, and he'd stumbled across her on a hunt. The little girl, Alice, had looked strikingly familiar to a girl that had lived in his village when he'd been human. He'd scooped her up into his arms and taken her to where her family could find her, and since then, always made a note to make sure she was safe and sound within her house if he passed. She called him 'Jasper' after a kitten of hers that had died that the chill to Ashii's skin had apparently reminded her of.
Carefully, silently, he made his way back to the mansion, slipping in through the back garden where he'd left from. Emerald hues looked carefully around, his senses telling him who was home and who had yet to return. Hn... Nemuriko's still out. He'll probably be a while...
Voices from the direction of the kitchen caught his attention. Korsu and the new Mistress. A small p***k of worry struck him at the thought of the youngster being left alone with their human guest, but then the sounds of Gitano and Therin's voices caught his attention and he turned toward the parlor after them. Coming to a silent pause at the other side of Gitano, he gave the two of them a light smile.
"Speaking of what to do about our new Mistress, I presume?"
He inclined his head at the letter in Gitano's hand.

((I'm sorry. I thought this was dead. I still would if Neptune hadn't PMed me about it. Let me just try to get back in here.))
Arisu still sat in her room, playing a bits and pieces of random songs on her ocarina. There was some Final Fantasy music here, anime music there, and Legend of Zelda music everywhere.

Gitano shook his head, "No, I can't...Usagi knew what I was when he allowed me to live here, but before that I never had to explain what I was to anyone."
He returned Ashii's smile with a small, weary one. "Usagi wrote a letter to Lady Suzuka about who and what we are. The question is do we give it to her." He hoped the older Vampire could help.
((Glad to have you back, Shikonkun. Hope every thing's worked out.))

Korsu lightly kicked his heels against the drawers as he thought about her question. "Well it's pretty much free for all. We all have our rooms and things that we like in them. We do what ever we feel like and we helped your Grandfather out as he got older. Though I only knew him for a year, he treated us all kindly and made sure we had things we enjoyed and stuff like that." he said, looking at her, drumming his heels quietly on the drawers again.
He took note of the fact that Ashii had come back and was with Gitano and Therin. Briefly he took another note of their conversation. He wondered what their decision would be as he watched the human.

Suzuka listened to Korsu. She'd never really been too upset about not knowing Usagi, but talking to all these people that had lived with him, a flood of emotions rushed through her. Something similar to love for the old man, jealousy for the people that had gotten the chance to know him, and anger and resentment that her grandfather had known about her existence, apparently liked her enough to leave her his house, routinely took in young people who needed a home, but had left her to suffer on her own.
All this conflicting emotion boiled away inside her and started to leak out her eyes in the form of tears. She set her food down and pushed the plate away a bit, folding her arms around herself in a loose hug. "Sounds wonderful," she mumbled.
Standing up, Therin looked between Gitano and Ashii. "Well, since we're getting a caucus together on this, why don't I see if I can find Arisu? I think she's still in her room. Be right back.
Heading to Arisu's room, she heard the music. She knocked on the door and called "Arisu? Are you busy right now?"

Arisu lowered the ocarina from her lips. "No, I'm not busy," she called, putting the ocarina on her nightstand. "Come on in."

((Ooc: Thanks, I'm glad to be back, and glad this didn't die. Hopefully I'll be around for a while this time.))
He gave a light nod to Gitano's words, then an inclination of his head as Therin departed to find Arisu. Emerald hues focused on Gitano as he allowed himself to lean backward against the arm of the couch, a contemplative look to his face.
"Well... the Lady is bound to find out about us eventually... though, I must admit-- it's only her first night with us. Perhaps it isn't wise to allow her to know of what we are so soon. Wouldn't want to scare her off... we should..."
He trailed off, pushing himself off the arm of the couch and stepping lightly over to the ebon piano across the room; fingertips grazing softly over its surface before turning to face the blonde vampire.
"...wait until she's gotten to know us a little better. Let her become attached, or at the very least, become comfortable around us. Otherwise, she'll probably go along with the stereotypes of today's age and just assume we're monsters."
His eyes flicked toward the kitchen before returning to Gitano, clearly indicating Korsu before speaking again.
"I think that'd be safest."

Gitano nodded, understanding the older vampire, though still a little nervous. He watched as Ashii made his way to the piano and said softly, "We've already had two close calls. First Vergil and then with Arisu and I. I've seen the look on her face those moments as well. She knows we're hiding something, though like her grandfather, she's letting us take our time."
He stood up and walked over to the piano. "If she finds out on her own about us, she'll become upset and all trust between us will be lost..." He looked down, memories of his early years surfacing.
"We're walking on a knife's edge, a hair's breath from losing this home..."

Pangs of sympathy struck the older vampire as Gitano approached him, speaking in that soft tone of his he used when worried. He let one hand arise from the surface of the piano to rest briefly on the younger's shoulder, emerald hues pouring into Gitano's as he held his gaze and spoke.
"Yes... and if she has no trust in us to begin with, there's still nothing there to stop her from throwing us out. We are, a hoard of strangers, living in a house that is rightfully hers."
He sighed softly and let his hand drop from the blonde, directing his gaze to their reflections in the polished ebon. "If she finds out on her own, at least we would have probable reason for not telling her the truth sooner. If she is truly as understanding as Usagi believed her to be, then even if she discovers we were deceitful of what we truly are... she will understand, and forgive us."
His gaze found Gitano's once more, resignation across his features. "Ultimately, it will take a consensus of the rest, I am merely one person inputing my opinion where it was asked. If everyone would rather show her the letter now, tell her what we are, then I will not interfere."

Korsu watched her silently, unsure of what to do. Once a small silence had stretched out, he hopped down from the counter and leaned against it. "Have you seen the gardens of the mansion? I think you'd like them." he said, straightning his hat.

Thorn came strolling into the living room and jumped on the couch and layed down on her back with a arm behind her head and the tv remote in her free hand. She pressed the power button and the tv turned on.

Therin opened the door and walked into Arisu's bedroom. "Hey. Um, Gitano found a letter from Usagi. It included a letter for Suzuka explaining what we are. Gitano, Ashii and I were discussing if and when to give it to her, and we wanted your opinion. Mind coming down for a little while?"
Suzuka sat holding herself until Korsu spoke. Looking up at him, she could tell the young boy was a bit uncomfortable. She was sorry for that, but there wasn't all that much she could do about that. Sniffing and wiping her eyes, she gave him the best smile she could. "That sounds nice." She stood and walked over to him, making a sweeping gesture. "Lead the way!"
