' Huh, so he doesn't know, and he didn't explain who Haruka was. She must have gotten hurt, maybe even killed. I'll inquire further later. ' Laxus thought, pushing himself off of the rock. He grabbed his right sleeve and ripped it off, tearing it in two and wrapping one length of cloth around his head to absorb sweat, and keep his hair out of his eyes. The other bolt of cloth he took several stones and cleaned them, then wrapping several more in the cloth he tossed one half dollar sized stone in his mouth and began sucking on it. " ooh igh unt un ooh. " Laxus said with the rock in his mouth. He tossed one up to Sora as he pushed off the large boulder and walked after Kensei.

Innocent little Sora did not understand what Kensei meant by balls. However, she was smart enough to assume that what he meant was the fuzzy air was created by the heat of the desert.
Choosing to wait for Laxus and Kensei to get a bit of distance in front of her, Sora remained sprawled on the rock and watched from the higher vantage point. She saw Kensei walk away as expected. Laxus, though, did something strange. He ripped his right sleeve, this part wasn't too strange as the shirt was already quite worn, and then used a strip of it to clean a rock. the girl wondered to herself as she raised an eyebrow, then she saw Laxus stuff a stone in his mouth, . Not one to hide her curiosity, Sora's eyes were wide with shock as she asked, "Huh?" while catching the rock that was tossed to her. She hadn't even been able to make out what Laxus was saying. The girl stared dumbly at the rock, then at the receding image of Laxus, an then back at the rock. Finally, she jumped off the rock herself and asked excitedly, "Hey, what's the rock for? Why are you sucking it? Huh? Huh?" as she ran to catch up with the two males.

Kensei stopped running for a minute to allow the other two to catch up. He was trying to keep up with Laxus only to run past him completely. He sat on a boulder and looked at the view of the village as he waited for the others to catch up. The letter he received from David to give to the Raikage was bothering him badly. Kensei pulled the letter from his pocket and stared at it for a while. He was tempted to open it and read it multiple times ever since he got it. There were good chances that the letter was a trap. It could probably make the person who wasn't supposed to read it blind or just blow up in their face. Kensei wasn't really going to take those chances though, instead he just sat and looked at the envelope (or scroll).

Laxus stumbled up the path, Sora probably trailing behind, still energetic. Laxus on the othr hand was spent, since he'd been trying to keep up with Kensei. Laxus shook his head as he looked around, laughing lightly. Kensei had caught up with him just to sprint past him, Kensei had a competitive side, but the again most taijutsu users would. " It is fine as far as I can tell. Nothing metal in it... At least not Iron wise. " Laxus said, looking at Kensei as he stopped and placed his wrists on the boulder. It was nice and cool, and quickly cooled Laxus down as the warmth escaped from his wrists. " We're almost home, I wonder if I'll get reprimanded for not aiding in the defeat of Jishaku. " Laxus said, inwardly cursing himself. Why had he just stood there, they could obviously have used him. He shook his head as he let out a sigh. " So what are you going to do once we get back to the village? " Laxus asked, looking at Kensei. He was wondering what the other two would end up doing, since he'd probably just buy some more scrolls and learn more after a couple of missions.

Actually, contrary to popular belief, Sora got tired at the same rate everyone else did. It was just less noticeable, what with all her smiling and maintenance of good posture (her mother always stressed maintaining good posture). The only sign of exhaustion was probably her heavy breathing and, once she had reached the rock everyone else, her decision to flop her body over it.
Sora piped in her answer to Laxus's question as she let her body relax over the cool rack, "Candy! Then food and sleep! And... Mm... Oh, right! Laundry! Actually, I should probably start the laundry before sleeping, shouldn't I?". As expected of a kunoichi with civilian origins, her thoughts were more down-to-earth and everyday-life-y than those of other ninjas.
Despite her carefree response outside, inside she was still worried about the welfare of the people in the Sand Village. She really couldn't shake off the notion that perhaps she, Kensei, and Laxus should have stayed behind and helped a bit with the rebuilding efforts. However, they had been asked to leave by David and were even escorted out by ANBU. In a case like that, the girl knew that there was really nothing she could have done. At least, not in Sunagakure. she looked at Kensei and the letter he held as she thought, "Ne ne, Kensei," Sora asked, bright-eyed and innocent, "do you think Nagisa will let us read the letter with her?".

"I think I'll just go train...You can never know enough jutsu." Kensei said while putting the letter away. He started to notice that he doesn't have much of a social life besides training and going on missions. He looked at Sora when she lied on top of the rock. He let out a little chuckle after seeing the sight before hopping off of the boulder. "I don't know honestly. We'll see when we get there. But lets go. I want to get home before night time." There was a good chance the trio would just get a pat on the back and be sent away to do something else.

Laxus looked from Kensei to Sora as she answered his question. " Heh, I didn't realize you focused on such menial things. " Laxus said, laughing lightly. He didn't mean it to sound mean if Sora took it that way, it was just interesting to him that she had answered with such an answer.
Kensei's answer was easier ot guess, and not nearly as shocking. " Ah, I'll probably do the same, hopefully I can find someone in the village who knows of a teacher. I'd really like to learn more of my own bloodline. " He said shaking his head. How could he have finally found a lead to his own bloodline, only to have it snatched away? Well, Jishaku probably would have killed Laxus before he taught him anything, but still! Laxus couldn't do anything more than simple manipulation, nothing spectacular. This had to change if he was going to use his bloodline to claw his way to the top, or at the very least a respectable position. Oh well, time would tell him his purpose, and hopefully it would be a great one.

Sora raised an eyebrow and cocked her head to the side in an obvious show of her inability to understand what Laxus had just said. Well, yeah, she admitted candy was sort of menial but the rest? Making food was in no way menial. Her frequent burning of her cooking proved that. As for laundry, the focus required to finish it all in one go seemed like a skill of the gods to the constantly excited genin.
However, Laxus soon moved on to another topic and Sora found herself shrugging away her thoughts, Then, with some effort, she pulled herself off the now-warm rock and stretched. "Ready? Ready?" the girl asked Kensei with a large smile once Laxus had finished talking. She was, obviously, asking if the group was ready to move forwards.

Kensei grinned and gave a thumbs up to Sora. "Yeah lets go." Kensei said calmly while walking away. "Oh and uh Laxus...Maybe I could help train you. I'm just taking a wild guess but your bloodline knows raiton right?" Kensei asked . He actually need something productive to do in the village and trying to get to know Laxus counted in his book. "I could train you in the raiton I know if you want. It's an open offer, so whatever."

" Yeah, actually we use both Raiton and Doton. something about using electricity and earth to mold magnetic chakra. I don't know much more about it since I'm not a regulated member of a clan or anything that has it. I'm actually lucky to have it. My mother and father were simple farmers. " Laxus said shaking his head. " They died shortly after I left. " He said, looking downtrodden. On his outside he looked slightly sad, but on the inside he was smiling. If he could get the "pity" of these two, maybe he could forge a closer bond. The bond would naturally be torn to shreds if they found out he had killed them by using wire and using the electricity that flowed through his body as naturally as the wire had molded in his days of stringing fences, or the needle when he had to stitch his own clothing back together. Either way, he could definitely use this moment to his advantage. Not only could he begin to forge a stronger bond, but Kensei was actually willing to extend a metaphorical olive branch out to him. " So sure, I'll take you up on your offer Kensei. " Laxus said, looking up to Kensei, making sure that his face still showed a bit of remorse, but at the same time was a bit happy.

Sora followed behind Laxus and Kensei. She was actually surprised that Laxus and Kensei were getting along. Not only was Kensei not calling Laxus names for once but Laxus seemed... almost meek? Definitely not like Laxus. Naively, she thought,
Sora couldn't imagine how she would handle her parent's dying. However, the story wasn't exactly new to her. There were many in the shinobi academy that were also orphans. She even knew some civilians that were orphans; although, it was a lesser amount. While non-ninjas didn't fight, just living in a shinobi village created a risk.

Being an island nation, most of Kirigakure was very flat. Sure, they had mountains, but they were gradually sloping, and nowhere near as tall as this. These mountains were higher than Yamatano had ever climbed in his life, and the new, thick clothing he had been using to survive the blistering cold of the snow village was not helping him here. Yamatano almost considered abandoning the clothing altogether, but knew that he had to go back to the village to meet the Mizukage when he arrived. Instead, he tried to focus on the path ahead to prevent altitude sickness, realizing again how much he longed for the level land and cool mists of his home.
