Between the gunner's shot and the demoness, Truewind absorbed the force of the bullet with his shield and fired a red lightning bolt four inches in diameter down at the woman on the bike.

As his sword was blocked, Allen folded his wings, dropping downwards for a moment. Then he gave himself a burst back upwards, wincing some as blood began to leak from the scales in his wings, slashing upwards in a powerful strike as he came back up even with Flare.

((Flare doesn't have a school in it...but she's pretty damned fast in the air. *shrugs* She's not fast enough that I feel comfortable saying she just dodges...
But if True hadn't blocked it, she couldn't have dodged that shot.))

Alber was taking some time to catch his breath when getting back to the motorcycle. Looking up he saw the mage aiming towards the group at the bike. He was too far away to do anything except run towards them and yell, "Look out!"

The woman's wrist was still glowing....yay adrenline. That meant that the nice little and ONLY affect of this damned bracelet was in effect. ((see post before Seyumi arrived. It was glowing then as battle heated up)) There was a small magical shield around Sam and anyone she was touching within a five foot radius. IF Owle had struck out, she would have had to deal with that, thankfully she did not. However it was simply a matter of the lightening vs the shield. Thank the heavens for passive magic.
((Since you didn't roll....Probably screwed on this...but whatever...
First roll...shield Second ...vs lightening))

Abel, watching the mage carefuly had already started running towards his target. He was going as fast as he could, a cloud of steam mixed with the dust kicked up by the burried stabilizers.
He bareled managed to get infront of Truewinds bolt, blocking it with his arms.
The bolt rended the clothing revealing the metal arms, attached to machines leading to the stabilizes, providing the path of least resistance for the bolt. Since Abel had no heart to stop by electrocution, all he had to worry about was heat.
Steam fixed that.

James tossed aside the empty clip of ammunition and replaced it with the last one from his pocket. Mentally he cursed himself for not bringing more... then again, he also cursed himself for not brining a few things. If he'd have known that something like this would have happened, there could have been any number of things that he could have done about it.
He sighed... and resigned himself to the crude nature of brute force.
Taking aim as best he could, he dropped to one knee and braced the rifle against his shoulder, trying to make a stable base to shoot from... at which point he fired all 5 shots in rapid succession towards the wind mage. If these didn't go through, he might actually have to do that...

When Allen dropped down, Flare shot upwards, hoping True would follow. She kept her eyes on Allen the entire time, continuing to fly higher and higher as quickly as her wings could move her. Let's see if he could catch her on those scorched wings...
((Flare's trying to run away from you.))

Alber was too late to do anything near the bike, and Abel was there and could take care of himself. He changed courses to approach Anna. "Lady Fontaine," he said, getting closer, "is there anything you can do to stop these people?"

Normally, Allen would have been more than up to the challenge. If fact, he would have stood a great chance of catching up to her. In this case, however...
...a few more powerful strokes of his wings, trying to catch up, and one of them gave. Blood began actually seeping out of it actively from the exertion, as he began to circle down towards the ground, trying to get as close as possible before the wing actually collapsed.
"...dammit..."

With the blast hit, it hit good and Sam and Sey went flying to the ground even as the bike did as well, what with no one holding it upright anymore. Sam was going to be pissed. But for the moment, she has just gotten a shock haircut...aka losing several inches to a fried bolt and was currently unconcious, her body on top of Sey's
((Dice roll..how many posts Sam is out for.))

God she was tired... But... There was something hopping on her?
"What in Gaia..." Sey blinked her eyes open and the first thing that registered was the orb in arms, then the coat around her body, then an Owle on top of her...
Owle!?Owle Isohos Landing practically on top of Sey, Owle pushed the white mage forward into the woman who'd shot Flare with her whole body, leaning forward and reaching out with her right hand to stab Iris in the nearest accessible body part...preferably the shoulder of her gun arm. "What the-?!" She yelled, seeing the dagger in her hand. Grabbing the core and bracing herself, Sey blinked after a moment. She didn't feel any pain...
As she looked at Sam, Sey heard a bang - and then something wet covered her cheeks. A knife was sticking out of Sam's arm, and she saw Owle shift too late.
Raising a shaking hand to her face, Sey wiped off the blood and stared at it.
At that moment, Sey was thrown from the bike. And is currently under Sam. But is still holding onto Artillery's core so ******** tight! scream (( ... :: waits for the moment she can cast again stare :: ))

Abel quickly realized that he hadn't accounted this being magical energy. A good deal more umph in that.
Then something bad happend, the heat on his stabilizers became critical. They went limp and took a waloping of lighting too the chest as he tumbled backward. <********, they had given out too early too, he haden't diverted all of it.

Anna looked down to Alber, frowning. "Not unless they're on foot... but..." She looked up as the bolt of crimson lightning struck the small clutch of her teammates.
She unlatched her shield from its position behind her saddle and tossed it to Alber. "Stay on guard, we can still get through this!"
Kicking Yves' flanks, the paladin spurred him into a charge towards Joseph, Sam and Sey. The powerful horse burst into a distance-devouring sprint, huge hooves throwing up clumps of grass and dirt in every direction.

Flare ceased her ascent as Allen landed, her hands beginning to glow. If she had enough time...if she could avoid their shots for that long...
