:::Cora was still working on the paddles as she spoke:::
That's really interesting Luana... obviously, gravity works... I suppose it would be a drip system? Measure accumulated volume? I only wonder...how do you not run out of water?
:::But as she finished her question, she seemed to switch gears:::
Alright, watch closely.
:::Cora waved her hands in between, under, and over the paddles. Then she cleared her throat, and took a deep breath.
She lifted her foot, and placed it upon the lowest paddle, and lifted off. She was standing on it. With a renewed smile on her face, she placed her foot on the second, and climbed up, until she squeezed both her feet on the fourth paddle, and looked at the tops of Luke and Luana's heads:::
Isn't this wonderful!? They're sturdier than the ground! Literally! They're not affected by force because, that require motion, and that requires time...which of course :::she hops carefuly::: I've stopped.

Luana watched her climb in amazement, but held on to her thoughts of the water clock as if her life depended on it.
"It would work," she said to Luke, "as long as the pull of gravity on the water remained constant."
She looked up at Cora. "And as for the water, I'm playing with a sort of water wheel idea that would eventually take the water back to a main holding tank. It's not perfect, by any means, but I've got ideas."

*Luke can't take his eyes off the show Cora's putting on.*
Cora, how- ... when did- ....
*Luke starts to fade in the middle of his questions and he notices.* Aw c'mon...

:::Cora's little personal party kinda lost it's pep when Luke faded out. She was still pleased with herself, but she began to get down off the paddles, each one falling to the floor as she stepped off them::
:::She whiped her brow, and picked up the paddles from the floor, looking up at Luana now and then:::
That's the trouble with time though, y'know. When we measure it, we're forced to use things with limits. So at best we can only caputre intervals of time. Even if you ran a sort of water-loop, it would only catch a small amount like...an hour, and then recycle?
:::She stood up, and put the paddles on the table::: Unless... you could build one big enough to capture a day, or even maybe a week... that might prove truly useful. :::She smiled again, though more weakly now that Luke was gone:::

"The one on the board in my room is designed to measure time like clocks at my home, with twelve hours. I bet if I played with it long enough I could even get it to measure weeks and months," she smiled. "But then we'd need a Brink calendar."
The ideas began to win out over her fear from before, but before she could really enjoy it, Luana faded out.

:::Now Cora's shoulders slouched. She sighed deeply, and looked about the room. There were lots of things to learn...
After Cora had gotten a serious once over of the externals of the place, she decided to call it a night...or day...or whatever for the time being. What ever that time... be...ing.

**Enter Luana from Main Room 820**
Luana moved the bead curtain aside. She may not have wanted to work, but she did want to find some form of recreation where she could still use her brain. She went to the pool table.

After a few games by herself she started to get bored. She went back to the bar to see if anyone else was there.

*Alex bolted ito the room, furiously fighting off the beads draped over him. He breathed heavilly as he looked around the room for... THERE! He spotted the cabinets next to the fridge and wasted no time running over to them. He threw open each door until he spotted a box of cereal, he didn't stop to look, only grabbed it and bolted back out of the room*
Please let her be alright, please let her be okay....

*Slightly baffled by the beads in the doorway, Maggie pushes them aside to step into the room. She stands next to Luke as she looks around* Good heavens, what is all this?

*points to each as he names them* Pool table, ping pong, jukebox, enterainment center....
*Luke walks as though drawn by a tractor beam* Fridge....
*Opens it and finds pepperoni and sausage pizza. His mouth waters.* Awww. Yes. *The Brink Gods are smiling upon him today.*
*takes a huge bite of pizza* *walks back to Maggie*

*Maggie stares at each item as he names it, but the names don't do much to enlighten her* 'Tis very . . . very . . . *but she can't think of an appropriate adjective, so she just shakes her head and laughs slightly at herself* Truly I've no idea.
