The Raven Of Crimson Wing

PostPosted: Tue Aug 03, 2010 12:19 am

Deep within her dream, Shadowpaw heard a warning bark in a voice she didn't know. Quickly her mind scrambled to awaken from the dream of running with her pack again. Her mind in full alert she scanned her room for the source of the strangers voice. She quickly ran out her door closing it behind her knowing that if anyone wanted to get in the room it would really only take a few minutes and a lock-pick. She shifted to her own wolf form and ran in the direction of the new canine, not knowing if they meant harm to her or the other students. But she would not let any harm fall upon her new home.

Garbhan's well tuned ears heard a door slamming, and footsteps shooting down a hall. What surprised him, however, was when the soft footsteps became soft pads. Pads of a Wolf. There was no coincidence; there was someone else here who was part Wolf, part Human. Or at least had shape shifting capabilities. Either way, this Wolf was coming towards him.

He lowered himself down, crouching, and a soft fog began to roll its way out of his mouth. The temperature around him dropped a few degrees, and snow eddies began to swirl around his person. In the back of his mind, he knew he needed to calm himself. He couldn't allow his powers to go out of control again. Nothing good ever came of it. That little part managed to get through to his mind, and he calmed himself somewhat. He kept his position, though altered it for it to be more of a cautious one, rather then aggressive. The mist thinned somewhat, and the eddies became a gentle snowfall. His eyes, a mix of ice blue and white, locked on the Wolf that came into sight. He was so stunned that he actually raised himself up from his position, and cocked his head. A She-Wolf. One who could shift from human to beast. He settled himself instantly, having respect for all women, just as his pack had taught him. This was no Male, no one he needed contest with over dominance. It was a female. This caused him to try something risky. Very risky.

He leaned his body forward and down, in a mock bow. He then began to elongate. His back legs grew longer, and larger. His front began to lose a canine shape, and began to take on one between that of an animal's, and a human's. His fur lost the light blue, and white to it, and settled with a rich, deep blue. His muzzle became wider, but shrank a tad bit. Using his arms, he pushed himself up, until he was standing on 2 legs. His ears shifted, now resting atop his head, perked up. From underneath the fur, muscle was evidently everywhere. His tail shortened, but the fur got longer, hanging down furry-like. His hands were massive; looking large enough to palm watermelons. His claws were roughly 2-3 inches long. He stood tall. Very tall, well over 8 feet. Perhaps over 9. He had shifted into this form, so she wouldn't see his human form. He seldom showed that side of him.

He tilted his head, and bared the very ends of his elongated teeth at her. It resembled a grin... Somewhat. His voice came out in a gruff, bestial, snarl. "You. No normal Wolf has the ability to be a Human. No normal human has the ability to be a Wolf. Show me your Half, Dame," he barked the last part. Not as an order, so much as rough peer pressure. He had to be sure exactly what he was dealing with. This is why he gave his Half's appearance away.

((OOC: Half is how he describes Were form.))

Guiseppi sighed, bored, and walked away from the Headmistress' office--beyond escorting Shadowpaw here, he really had no reason stay. He heard a bark, and out of curiousity, he followed the sound. Shadowpaw seemed to have reacted to it as well--he could see her approaching... something just out of his line of sight, but when he got--aha.

He stood out of the way, watching with interest. This... person... seemed to be a werewolf. Isn't that what Shadowpaw was? What an interesting development. He smirked to himself, wishing he had a glass of wine to drink while observing. Instead, though, he simply crossed his arms over his chest and leaned his shoulder against a wall.

Yes, he was going to be entertained by being around Shadowpaw. She had not given him any reason to dislike her yet.

Even before Shadowpaw ran into view in her wolf form she knew by scent that a young male was the one who gave the call. She wearily returned the bow as she stopped on the other side of the gate. She could taste the magic around him, see his breath come out in crystal clouds of frost.

"I would know who you are before showing my Half as you call it. These lands are new to me, but I would not hesitate to bleed for them." She barked out in the wolfen tongue. She would have to know this one's intentions before anything would be allowed to happen. She had to know if this unknown male was apart of one of the packs her own was an ally to. She took an aggressive stance on her side of the gate; of her new home.

Garbhan tilted his fuzzy head at her. This Wolf, this Dame, was protecting her 'home'. Garbhan couldn't help but snort. Homes were over rated. They never lasted, and were always full of fights. Bickering. Betrayal, hate, and backstabbing traitors. But the way she was prepared to fight, for a place that was new to her... In a distant corner of his heart, he felt respect swell up slightly for her.

He bared more of his teeth then, not in a threat, so much as changing his own position to be a little less aggressive as hers. Not too much over, not too much under. A point of negotiation. "If you were not a Dame, this question would be met with a battle," he snarled in the grotesque, Irish accent that mingled with his rough, throaty Half voice as he returned the language. "Before you do anything rash and unwise, Dame, I mean this land, as well as you, no harm at the moment." And then, without thinking, he bowed himself onto one knee, and tucked his head down; a technique he had had lodged into his skull. Proper greetings were everything... But he was rebellious; which is what caused his earlier comment.

As his head was down, he couldn't help feel like a fool. He was in such a vulnerable position... He was a Lone Wolf. He had no pack to guard him right now. What if there was a being behind him? What if the She-Wolf was silent, and charging him for the death blow? Multiple scenarios ran through his head, but true to his chivalrous code, though to his disliking, he remained down until she would return her own name. "My name is Garbhan. And if you are wondering, there is no pack lurking. I am Lone," he admitted. Hopefully, this would earn her trust more. If he was to study here, then having a She-Wolf who did not trust him was not a good thing. PMS times could seriously be a hassle; even when said Wolf WAS fond of him.

Her ears twitched and she slowly padded to him, her eyes scanning the trees and nose taking in his own scent and the scents coming from the wood behind him. Shadowpaw walked carefully around him, close but so close as to touch him.

Something about him made her heart ache, could it be that she to was alone. Not run out from her pack like him, but cut off from her pack by the Wyrmspawn that hunted her.

She shook her head and walked around to his head and sat down, looking at him carefully. Huffing a stray snow flurry away from her nose. She was no truth-catcher like her mother but she could tell that he was no sliver tongued jackal.

"I hear your words and see the truth behind them. I am Shadowpaw of the Black River pack. And you are wrong to think that I would not go to battle just because I am a b***h. In my pack all wolves must take up the call to battle, all but the old and the pups. Do not be so quick to ignore the b***h with the hidden claw." She wolf smiled; her tongue hanging out of the one side of her mouth. She watched the young male named Garbhan carefully seeing how she was within range of any attack he would desire to make upon her but it was showing that she was unafraid of him in such a large form. And besides, she had the upper hand on both speed and cunning in this form.

Guiseppi couldn't understand a word of what they were saying to each other, but he saw no reason to hide any longer. He stepped out to be fully visible to the pair, hands in his pockets and eyebrows raised. He'd seen the male--whose name he didn't catch--seemingly bow to Shadowpaw, and for a canine of any sort, he was certain such a thing was... uncommon. It was, he believed, a show of trust or the like.

"Hello," he greeted blandly, standing arrogantly with his head held high and hips jutting out to one side in true rich-boy fashion.

Garbhan waited until she had finished talking before rising once more. He noticed how he absolutely dwarfed her in this form, but knew from experience that size did not matter. Take the bears, for instance. He tilted his head at her words. Their packs had been entirely different. The reason his pack had been so fearsome, their motive for fighting, was to protect their women and children. In hers, however, everyone fought. This did not make sense, for what if their pups were to be killed before their eyes? Such rage that would come of the action would lead to fatal flaws in combat, ultimately leading in an utter gruesome win, or pathetic loss. He shrugged to himself; it did not concern him, one way or another.

Noting how she seemed to be somewhat relaxed with him, he put himself down on all fours, and shifted back into that of his Wolf form. He then slowly circled around her, sniffing, taking in her scents, and those of the scents she was mixed with. After a few circles, he was content, and moved to sit in front of her, less than 2 feet away. Should he have leaned his head forward, he couldn't touched noses with her. He let loose a soft chuckle at her words, which sounded more like a wheeze. Wolves weren't known for laughter. "Pleasure, Shadowpaw. Is it wrong of me to assume you have claimed this land as your own?" He seemed to huff the words, not entirely content with the answer, either one. The gentle snowfall ceased, but as his mouth hung open, and panted softly, fog still rolled out on the exhales.

**EDIT**

Yet as he saw the man step out of the shadows, he growled fiercely. Stepping to the side a few feet, he let loose a warning snarl, and the fog began to stream from between his jaws, coiling around his feet, but never leaving within a foot or so of his legs. He curled his lip back to reveal bone white, razor sharp teeth. It wasn't that the man had angered him, so much as startled Garbhan. A wolf. Which, as most people should hopefully know, was not a good idea. He let loose another bark, and felt it resonate throughout the area. This pleased him, as it sounded rather intimidating. If one were to look closely at his eyes, they would notice what appeared to be sparks running through them. Jolting from one side to the other, hardly noticeable. But there nonetheless. He then turned his head, but not his eyes, to Shadowpaw. He was looking to see how she reacted. If she was calm about it, then the man most likely possessed no threat... Currently. If she were to react similarly, then nothing good could possibly come of it.

Guiseppi scowled at the newcomer. "How rude," he declared. "I said hello, and you act as if I've insulted you." He acted unphased by the encounter, but he was now on guard. He did not want to be caught in battle. It wouldn't look good on his reputation for the innocent one with a hidden edge. He knew, though, that he couldn't take the wolf on physically; that didn't matter. He'd just release a paralyzing effect if it proved necessary.

Uriyu stumbled out of the corridor following the sounds of barking. Hearing guiseppe speak of insults he chuckled, "Do you know nothing of canine pride?" He turned to the direction he heard the growling from, "No offense meant if you take it so by the way." he said apologetically with alow bow as he kept his distance. he had to rely on his ears for distance because of the blindfold but he wasnt too worried. He knew warewolf, of course he couldnt speak it but he could understand it... He could understand most languages. He remained in a bow waiting for some sort of signal that he was in the clear, he just hoped it wasnt a visual one. "My name is Uriyu Yukoto." he introduced himself slowly. "I am a... friend... of this areas... what does your kind call it... alpha if im correct?" he said choosing his words carefully so as not to step on a nerve.

Shadowpaw wagged her tail happily at Guiseppe and Uriyu knowing that only their curiosity was to blame for them stumbling into this. She would have changed into her human form if she had kept Asmusei's cloke had given her to wear. The only other form she could take was her Werewolf form, Guiseppe had seen it but Uriyu- She shook her head it was the only way to explain to them what was going on.

She stretched allowing her muscles to stretch and grow. Her fur was only a little longer then in her wolf form and still as black. Her muzzle elongated and her ears moved back and farther up her skull. Her front legs grew into long arms with large paw like hands tipped with sharp 3 inch claws. Her back legs bulked up to hold her weight. Her muscles rippled under her short fur as she stood calmly. She barked out in the human tongue; which was hard to do with a wolf mouth, "It OK, Friends. He with me."

Shadowpaw turned to Garbhan and spoke in the tongue that all werewolves use in the form she was in, "These are fellow students of mine here. They mean you no harm. Unless you chose to be a threat."

Guiseppi just rolled his eyes at Uriyu, arms crossing. "He could stand to use a lesson in manners," he said disdainfully, looking the foreign canine up and down with critical chocolate eyes.

She smiled, but in were form it looked more like her gapeing her jaws but her tail wagged too as she huffed at Guiseppi, "He startled by you. He no smell you."

Uriyu chuckled, "Couldnt smell us... well hygiene boy here maybe but i havnt had a chance to settle in and take a bath... I wouldnt be surprised if he found his way here out of curiosity as to what smelled so terrible." He chuckled. looking at where he heard guissepe from he grinned, "He's not the only one." he said obviously playing around. Hearing the comment of being a threat he burst out laughing, "Who me a threat? I cant see." he said waving a hand before his face to prove the point.

Garbhan now looked at the 2 of them, and nearly barked once more. However, he was interrupted by Shadowpaw's words. The fog began to slowly dissipate, and the stream slowed from his mouth. Backing himself up, he once again shifted into his Were. Speaking Englih is difficult enough with a half human mouth; 'twould be impossible trying with a canine one. When he was upright, towering over them, he proceeded to take a few, insanely large strides towards Shadowpaw. He stopped beside her, and allowed his lips to curl back as he spoke, facing the smart a**. "Human. Never sneak up on Wolf. Wolf not human. Wolf animal. Animal attack," he said, though whether is was a lecture, or a threat, was not clear. "Manners. Not needed, I can tear off head," he promptly stated, as if it made perfect sense.

Turning himself to Shadowpaw, he switched back to the Were-Language. "These men are to be trusted? You are completely sure, Shadowpaw?" As he spoke, his demeanor changed. It shifted from one of caution, to a more relaxed manner. Nothing but an animal could detect it, but it was a large show of trust towards Shadowpaw. One that, he hoped, would be returned.
