Sometimes, but most people don't tend to prefer to do things alone, not that I don't prefer to socialize. I just enjoy my "me" time even in typical "social" settings more than most. Like malls, I prefer to go to those alone. I've also been pretty cool going to the movies alone. I also LOVE to be alone in a park. What can I say, too much time in a reclusive family - granted most of 'em quail at leaving the house. I love to be outside, I just love to be outside alone... razz

Exactly!

Yay Greeks indeed!!!

Lol what about the person who invented solitary? It depends on whos around me, at some points I really need my me time, but other points I want someone around! Lol I am never around my family really, kinda my own fault though. I was told that my niece and nephew didn't get only me any gifts because I don't love them enough. I didn't know I had to fight for their love or something XD it made me a little sad, but for some reason at the same time not really...Is that sad? XD
Eh, just how it is around my house.

@JK: OMG glittery Paris with a wand! <3 That's awesome.
I have acquired some minor sewing skills thanks to Karma and another friend of mine, and because of that, suddenly my mom is asking me to do all her sewing for her because she hates it! XD
Pft... Trojan Condom thing is so true as well...
I'm more of a pasty indoors nerd, so I generally don't get very dirty during the day. I dunno, pajamas are just too loose for me, and I don't feel like there's any cover between me and the air. I also don't like the feel of most pajama material; just more comfortable in clothes. XD Also nice not to have to pack pajamas or change into them at sleepovers.

@Karma: Video is win. XD
At least our schools didn't suck as much as Arknight's and Puddles' high school. XD

@JK: Better yet, maybe people could be a little more creative than all taking their mascots from either animals or classical stories and do something like... Asian history? Or occult figures? We could have the Peppermill Ainu or the Springfield Zombies. <3

@Karma: Yeah, we don't have much to do in Arizona. Too hot to go outside anyway. I'm happy just being alone at home though. <3

@JK: I still vote for the zombie mascot. Halftime would be terrifyingly awesome!
There's definitely a difference between underdog and dead dog. Just ask Jounouchi. <3
I think the people who come up with school mascots themselves don't actually know their classical stories.

Definitely more of an introverted person myself. Like most people need a certain amount of social activity to get by, I need a certain amount of alone time. Which really sucks because my family is quite social.

@Ketz: Lmao really? Oh that comment wasn't ment for me but still XD you guys need to fix that sewing machine first...

But Arknight and Puddles had more adventures then us! Remember their haunted stories D:

Boo you loser...

@Karma - alright are we talking Solitary as in solitary confinement? Because I'm pretty sure he didn't invent it for himself. If you meant Solitaire though, maybe - although playing a card game alone and going to the mall alone aren't quite the same thing razz

That's depressing, and yes - ignore you, that'll teach you to love them. Anyhow it's sad in the sense that it's always sad when families don't get along, but how you feel might not be that sad - depending on your circumstances it might be completely justified.

@Kits - Isn't it? He wasn't very pretty though, but oh well, it was hilarious all the same.

My mom likes to sew, she just gets really busy, but I still doubt she'd ever ask me to do stuff because she could do it better, she tends to take over my projects - and I let her because I'm lazy, but then I never learn ~_~.

Ok see I'm the opposite, I NEED loose to sleep, right now I'm still in PJs because that is my idea of comfort. I feel like I'm being suffocated if I have material clinging to me while I'm trying to sleep. I've more often just gone to sleepovers and stuff in PJs rather than pack clothes, yay opposites!

I doubt most people would want Zombies as their mascot, and most of the country doesn't know enough about Aisan history. Most people might not think of the fact that Trojans were in the end losers - not bad warriors by far, but when it counts they lost, same with the Spartans - but that they were epic warriors. And that's what competitive fighting teams want to portray themselves as - the winner. I mean most people the goal to zombie movies and zombie games is to NOT be turned into a zombie, haha. Anyhow that would be a more interesting halftime show - although I have a feeling there would be WAY too much Thriller going on.

My family isn't so that's not a problem, they are even more introverted with me which means they actually still infuriate me. But yea, the problem with socializing for me is that need for alone time, so if I go out, I still need to come home and have alone time for the most part, which means that I cut into sleep. It's pathetic, but just how I am.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 16, 2009 6:01 pm

Haha both! Lol I guess they aren't the same. And it depends on if you're going with the annoying person that shops for themselves ((I'm sure I spelled that wrong ))and not you...

Lmao thought me well. Wish I was around more but I don't know, I pull myself away from people. Funny since I hate being alone xD but I like it sometimes.

I don't mind solely shopping for others, since I don't rather like to buy things for myself (especially at malls, maybe at Borders). I just get bored shopping in general, so it's wayward wandering that I don't like. Even if the conversation is interesting, I don't like to meander around malls without a goal, they aren't a pleasant environment in my opinion so I need a purpose to be there.

Family is complicated, it's as simple as that.

Ohh borders! I spend too much money there...I can't shop for a long time.
I like malls when the kids are in school XD because then it's not as crowded or nothing.

I'm thinking of what to have Mai do now xD might have dad stop by XD he needs a screen name...

I do too, I spent $80 just the other day, luckily it was with gift cards. However I ended summer (between my Birthday and a gift from my coaching job) with $120 in gift cards from Borders (and $25 from Barnes and Noble). I'm down to $13 at Borders and still $25 at Barnes. I dunno what I'll do with that one, I like it ok, but the selection isn't any better than Borders and the nearest one is further from my home than Borders. It was going to be used on the last book in my yaoi series, as Borders won't even carry it online for some reason, however I ended up getting that at Y-con (and meeting the author and getting it signed, so yea WAY better than Barnes, but still dunno what specifically to do with this card). Blah blah, end boring rant on bookstores, but yea that's def where I spend most of my money. This lest expenditure was for Christmas presents though so I don't have anything for ME to show for it, haha, which is fine but aww. Maybe I'll get more cards for Christmas ^_^.

It's not crowds that I dislike about malls, they don't help, but yea, I've been in malls in both situations and I just don't like them anymore when they are deserted (that's actually kind of creepy) than when they are over crowded.

Hehe...oh dad... razz . Yes, think of a screen name!

@Karma: My mum says we can probably pull of fixing it if we stop being lazy about it. XD I'll be needing it for Fibers though...
Yes, at least they had more fun outside of school. XD

@JK: Wow, we are like completely opposite. XD
But if you think about it, most zombie movies don't actually have the zombies being completely annihilated; either they kill all the main characters by the end, or just a couple survive and have to go on living in a zombie world. So zombies far more often than not are the winners! =D Sounds like a good mascot to me. Better than the Buckingham Victims, eh?
Nah, I get the needing alone time too. XD Like I'll be out all night and exhausted and want to sleep, but have to go on the computer real quick to update roleplays or play solitaire before going to sleep.
Yeah, I'm very goal-oriented when shopping. I hate shopping with my mom because she takes forever, where's I usually know what I want and just get it. Exceptions may be if I'm shopping for gifts and haven't decided something yet, but I still don't take too long in picking something out, usually. I also do enjoy casual shopping if it's with friends and at like a book store or video game store. As long as it's not too crowded, and we don't take super long, it can be relaxing and enjoyable. I usually don't buy anything though. XD And I don't like the mall either, but that's because of the crowds.

@Karma: Well, Gouzaburo's main card was Exodia Necross, so maybe you could do something with that...?

@Kits - I'm not saying Zombies are weak, I'm saying it is the goal of about 99% of people to not be a zombie (even though yes, in these movies/games about 99% end up as zombies and the rest probably are assumed killed or zombified eventually). I guess that's kind of what it is with say the Spartans - they may be the losers, but it's better than being a "boy loving Athenian" in the wide perspective. Likewise, zombies may be strong and formidable, but most people would just rather not be mindless and decomposing, it's just a weird perspective quality most people seem to have.

Yea, even if I have nothing to do online I just need some isolated moments letting my wind wander around - be it in a fanfic or even actually chatting on aim. It's the isolated quality that matters, not particularly the lack of social connection.

I will browse shopping for gifts for sure, comparing prices, debating items. It's probably the only time I do like to wander, getting ideas. But yea, the rest of the time I just want to be in and out. But yea I'm much more likely to enjoy extended trips to book/game/electronics stores than to clothing/shoe/purse stores. Or, if I'm in a place like SF rather than a mall. Between each shop I'm outside enjoying the crazy people and chaos, getting some fresh air, enjoying the spectacle and then hitting another shop. It's more just giant malls that I don't like, being locked in a box filled with bad lighting where I'm just not into 80 something percent of the stores.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 17, 2009 9:10 pm

Guess that's a good point. Too bad people don't think out their mascots more. I'd love to be a Zombie. XD
I don't know what SF is, but I think I know what you're talking about. XD Like an outdoor shopping center that you can walk from place to place in, usually has a lot of restaurants too? We have only a few of those in Arizona, but they're really nice. Definitely prefer them to malls, unless it's hot outside...

Well become rich and famous, have a school named in your honor, and insist that they make zombies their mascot.

Ok, and you seriously had me laughing out loud there, BECAUSE this is the second time I've used the acronym for San Francisco AND the second time you've told me you don't what SF is. Though it was awhile ago and on a different thread, but still, I LOVE IT!!! Hahaha...SORRY! I am just to used to using abbreviations, but I'll try to only do it within the same post and not just assume you'll remember from posts back (I think last time you told me "oh I've heard of San Francisco" so I at least am pretty sure having spelled it out you will now know what I'm talking about ~_~).

Yea, SF - sorry, San Francisco ^_~ - is FULL of restaurants. Anyhow yea, I like outdoor shopping centers in general, Market Street SF is just a giant shopping center, even if it does extent for who knows, fifty or something blocks (including China Town and Japan town and all that, which does extend out of that area).

I guess malls ARE a good source of air conditioning, that is true ^_~.

@JK: It's a plan then!
Ugh, I haaaate abbreviations... *whine whine* There's just so many of them out there and I can hardly remember any! crying Yes, of course I know what San Fransisco is... didn't realize the whole city was like an outdoor mall though. Sounds awesome. >_o

@Karma: END. That's actually pretty awesome sounding. XD Kind of sinister, ya know?
