"Well, a traditional handfastin' is usually th' bride an' groom plus a handful o' witnesses an' whome'er's presidin' o'er th' ceremony," Rory said, "but your da wants certain thin's done durin' th' weddin', too, so I think w' should combine the traditions."

Lee stared at Rory a moment before grinning wide, her eyes soft with adoration. Compromising with her father... she couldn't possibly love him any more than she did right now. Biting her lip, Lee nudged at his foot a bit with her own. "Would you mind meeting my friends before the handfasting?" She sunk a bit in her chair, a bit worried how it would go, if he agreed to it.

"Any more o' them gonna try sneakin' in me bed while I'm sleepin'?" Rory asked, arching a brow.

Lee rubbed at her cheek, shaking her head. "Hailey wasn't that close to me. No, like, only a couple. The ones I trust. Pretty sure they all have boyfriends anyway." Except Akira, of course, unless she was trying to make Jeremy jealous. Lee would never understand what she saw in that boy...

"Yeah, lover. Fae you, anythin'," Rory said, smiling at her. He leaned over to kiss her, ignoring any looks from the chefs.

"They're nice, though." She tilted her head, giving him both an appreciative and apologetic look.
The kiss was interrupted by plates being pushed in front of them, two strawberry pastries, one for each of them. "Here you are."
Lee looked down, a wide grin on her face. "Thanks." She didn't notice the cook was still around, half waiting to see if she approved of the food. Taking a bite, she smiled and let her eyes glaze over a bit with bliss. She didn't know the chef, didn't know his specialty was desserts, and didn't know he put every scrap of talent and skill he had into her desserts, but she enjoyed it as much as if she had.

Rory took a bite and nodded in appreciation to the cook. "This is really good." He smiled a bit at Lee's expression. She was too cute and he definitely would remember to keep her in sweets if he could see her that happy all the time.

Lee had finished her dessert rather quick, regretful that there was so little to be eaten. "It was fantastic, really." She beamed up at the man, nodding in agreement to Rory's words. "What was your name, again?" Perhaps she could get him to make dessert for the wedding?
The cook beamed down at her as well, though more with affection than appreciation. "Brendan, Miss." He bowed a bit, and went back to working on what he was supposed to have finished by now.

After another bite, Rory nudged his dessert over to Lee, knowing she'd want to finish it. He knew her well by now.

Lee greedily took Rory's plate, finishing his off as well, and licking the small bit of strawberry filling off of the fork. "Do you think he'd cook for the wedding?" She peered over at this Brendan fellow, smiling at the prospect of having another dessert made by the man.

"Should ask him," Rory suggested, settling back in his chair with his fourth glass of wine, happily content with a full belly and his girl at his side.

Lee blinked over to Rory. "Like, right now?" She sunk a little in her chair, a bit nervous about asking something without knowing him. She was afraid he'd say "no", considering he didn't know them and they didn't have the money to really pay him what he deserved. Unless, of course, her parents helped out...

"Th' worst he's gonna say is 'nae', love, an' if he does, w' can find someone else," Rory said, sipping his wine.

Lee bit her lip, sighing and nodding a bit. Standing from her chair, she shuffled over to the man, tapping his shoulder once more, seeing his blushing face again as he whipped his head around. Lee cleared her throat, biting her lip and looking down a bit before speaking. Had she looked up, she'd have seen that the man was blushing even more now that she looked so nervous. "Brendan..." She started, managing to get herself to look into the man's eyes. "Rory and I wanted to know if you'd want to cook for our wedding?"
The man's face dropped, his blush fading a bit at her question. He seemed pressed for words, but took a while to answer her. "W-while I'm... honored... I might have... previous engagements on that day. Perhaps... perhaps if you let me think it through?" Oh god, if it were any other occasion he'd be all over it. But her wedding?! Why would he ever want to be present for that? Perhaps he should talk to Lydia about this... she could put things into perspective.
"W-we'll pay, if that's the problem." Lee pouted a bit, bringing out the rare puppy eyes she gave her father every-so-often.
Brendan thought for a moment, looking very torn. "I'll think about it." He nodded to her, giving her a look that he needed to get back to work.
Lee nodded, her shoulders slouching a bit. Turning to head back to Rory, she sat in his lap, sighing a bit with disappointment. "He'll 'think about it.'"

Rory rubbed her back gently. "Tha's all w' can hope fae. Let him think it o'er, yeah? You mum might hae some people in mind, too." He hugged her close, nuzzling at her neck. "Let's say w' gae upstairs an' finish what w' had gaen earlier, eh?"
