Rook parked half a block away from a run-down apartment building that looked to be a school, in days gone by.
"Well, there is a pair of supers in this building. We gotta find them. The list is somewhat fuzzy on the apartment numbers they are in."

"Pfft, I've been wanting to quit anyway" she mumbled, glancing out the window, "So, we just start asking around, knocking on people's doors, ya know, grab some pixie sticks and say we're selling cocaine..."
She then snorted, flicking open her Zippo and burning off a stray thread from her jacket, "Yeah, I'm gonna get shot here."

I'm willing to bet if I went back to the school tonight, I'd be able to sneak in and get us some kind of lead to go by- Record of the year book, one of those ID badges kids have to carry around.... Something."

"Well, I picked out for the list a couple of kids in my classes, so that should give us some common ground." Jeffery piped up. "Kids might not buy it, but a teacher's a credible enough source."

"I wouldn't know. I've never had any formal schooling. But, if you think that'll work, I'm all for it." Maya cracked her neck impaitently. She was ready to do something, even if it wasn't busting in some skulls.

"Well, should we have Jeffery start out by knocking on the doors? Tell them that he's from the school?"

Maya unsucessfully tried to supress a raucous laugh. "Billy Everyteen?! HAHAHAHAHA! Sounds like someone I'd see on TV." She wiped a tear from her eye and continued to giggle. "Come on...Let's get 'em."

He turned to Jeffery.
"Well, what's the apartment number, Jeffery?"

Olivia suppressed a snort, looking around a little to make sure nothing was defying gravity, "That poor guy. Sounds like something I'd name my kid if I ever decided I needed another me running around...I'd change my last name for that..."

The apartments were booming that night, a party going down in one, while another group seemed to be blasting their television at full volume as if their was some kind of war between how much noise the neighbors could make. However, the front door to the apartment where this Billy Everyteen was supposedly living, stood three inches open. No lights on inside. No sound. Just an unclosed door and an ominous darkness...because ED likes the word ominous. ....Ominous.

Rook held up a hand while he crept up on the slightly ajar door, closing his eyes as one formed on the tip of his finger, which he slowly inched towards the doorjamb to look into the open apartment.

That is decidedly creepy.
Being that there was no lights on in the apartment the eye trick did little to illuminate the situation (snickers). Several shadows played on the floor, one swinging in a heavy motion, back lit by the small amount of slitted light that was available from a shaded window.
