Treasure Hunt Ruya sighed and kicked her legs out the window. She still hadn't found the chain and she was rapidly running out of ideas on where to look. Yesterday had started out productive as she had ransacked Kam and Sunil's rooms, but halfway through Chandra's room Kam had come storming in and demanded Ruya clean up the messes she was leaving behind. This had meant hours of not only cleaning up but then also rearranging things as she realized how much more efficient it would be to optimize object placement as she cleaned instead of leaving it until later. Then, this morning was filled again with working out with Sunil. It had gone about as well as could be expected. She had been woken up by cold water, but beaten Sunil in an impromptu race around the house. Then she had been able to do more sit ups, but fewer push ups than usual and she dropped a weight on Susu's tail by accident. This had led to some rather ugly looking scratches on her leg. Ruya ran a hand over them while thinking about it. Any other cat would have run away screeching, but Susu had turned on her instead and slashed her leg. What kind of cat hung around while you were working out anyway? After working out with Sunil, Ruya had finished up in Chandra's room, glared at the whole time by the pale girl. Then she had moved onto Riana's room and also come up empty handed. All that was left was the first floor and the basement. Both of which might take a day each to search. The best thing to do would be to have a plan, but Ruya really had no idea who or what might have taken the chain. She leaned back and scooted back inside the room, pulling her legs in as it started to rain outside. "If I were Silva's chain, where would I be?" She briefly entertained the horrifying thought that Silva had come and taken his chain back himself, but he didn't even know which room was hers. "Arrgh!" She muttered in frustration. "This sucks." Ruya stood and stretched, turning around as she noticed someone else in the room with her. "Hi Bozidar!" She smiled and made her way over to the little dragon, who seemed to be struggling with something. "Whatcha doing?" Bozidar glared at her, spit a little bit of flame in her direction, and continued trying to drag something out from under the bed. Ruya frowned and knelt to see what he was pulling more clearly. "An earring?" She glanced at Bozidar in confusion. "What the hell do you need one of Kam's earrings for?" Bozidar didn't answer, but dropped the earring and took off for the door. Kam poked her head in shortly afterwards and looked around. "Just making sure you're not making another mess in here." She glared at Ruya and then popped back out and down the stairs. Ruya scowled and picked up the earring thoughtfully. She felt like there was something important about this.

Flashback Kamtrouble Kam marched up to the front of what she hoped was Tera's house, being guided by nothing more than her own sense of where she should be going. At the front door, she nervously fidgeted with the notebook in her hand before raising a fist and knocking timidly. She despised meeting new people and having to do it because one of the people you were responsible for had stolen something only made it worse. Teralinth d'Kalin The knock, though faint, echoes slightly through the house. After what is undoubtedly a long, uneasy moment for Kam, the door finally opens, but not by Tera. Instead, a man stands there, blinking at her slightly. He tilts his head, then asks, "Can I help you?" Kamtrouble Silently cursing her new found power for leading her astray, Kam smiled. "I was looking for a Tera. I have something that belongs to her. I hope I'm in the right place?" Kam laughed a little, nervously. It occurred to her that she didn't even know Tera's last name or how she and Sunil had met. Teralinth d'Kalin The man grins slightly. "Friend of Tera's, huh? Yeah, she's here." Backing up slightly and holding the door open, he gestures with his hand. "Come on in. She's in the living room. Follow the hall and hang a right." He keeps his scrutiny of her unobtrusive. Another female friend of Tera's... What was she doing, purposefully *avoiding* guys? Kamtrouble Kam smiled back, relieved not to receive a blank stare and a "No Tera here". She walked past the man and into the house. Following his instructions, she followed the hall and hung to the right. She peered into the living room and fiddled with the notebook. "Tera?" Teralinth d'Kalin Tera looks up from the couch where she's sitting, a multitailed fox in her lap. She smiles at Kam, tilting her head slightly in a very similar fashion to the man's movement. The fox, black in color, lifts its head and peers at Kam curiously. "Aii? Can I help you?" She couldn't help notice the notebook in Kam's hands, nor the way they seemed to be twisting it nervously. She keeps her expression benign, friendly. Kamtrouble "I'm Kam," Kam stepped farther into the room, "and I'm bonded to Sunil. The feien. I think this is yours." Kam held up the notebook and hoped Sunil hadn't lied both about the method of obtaining the notebook and where she got it. Teralinth d'Kalin Tera's brow furrows a little, but it is really the only sign of a change of emotion on her face. With a nudge, she urges the fox off her lap, then strides over to Kam. "My notebook, eh?" Extending her hand, she nods a little. "Maq said something about letting one of his friends look at it." Kamtrouble Kam's eyebrows lifted and she handed over the notebook. "Sunil said you gave it to her. She really isn't very good at lying, so I took it away. I thought you might want it back. Who is Maq?" Kam looked puzzled. Sunil seemed to have a lot of friends Kam knew nothing about. Teralinth d'Kalin "Maq's one of my Feien." Accepting the notebook, she flips it open easily with her thumb, glances at its contents and then flips it shut again. Almost as if on cue, a small red blur comes into the room, sailing over and then landing on Kam's shoulder. Grinning broadly, Maq looks up at Kam. "Talking about me?"Kamtrouble Kam jumped a little as the feien landed on her shoulder. "Err... yes I suppose. You're friends with Sunil?" Kam regarded the little fairy with interest and wondered around how old he was. Teralinth d'Kalin Still grinning broadly, Maq shrugs. "Yeah. Sun and I hang out." It is right about this point that Maq notices the notebook in Tera's hand. Beginning to look a little sheepish, he runs his hand through his hair. "You found the notebook, then?"Tera nods, emerald eyes focused on Maq. "Kam here brought it to me. Said Sunil had it." Kamtrouble Kam frowned at the little red feien. "Yes I found it. I suppose you gave it to her?" Kam looked dubious. If Sunil was telling the truth about having permission to have it then locking her in the closet seemed a little harsh. Teralinth d'Kalin Maq, for once at a loss for words, turns and looks up at Tera. On the one hand, he doesn't want to betray Sunil by pointing out that she actually took the notebook without his knowledge, he also doesn't want to lie to Kam, especially in front of Tera. Tera, with a sigh, senses his dilemma. "From what I've heard, Kam, he and a friend of his, apparently Sunil, wanted to look at my notes on the Feien." She reaches out her hand to gently remove Maq from Kam's shoulder, who had been steadily becoming warmer as Tera spoke. "They snuck a key out of my closet and used it to open the desk drawer that it was in. The key is still missing, though." Kamtrouble Kam scowled even more than she had before and muttered under her breath about stupid feien. "Ah. So essentially she stole it. I figured as much. I didn't see a key anywhere, but I can ask her about it when I get home. Is it urgent? I'm not sure I have enough time to ask and get back to you before my flight takes off." Teralinth d'Kalin Feeling a little alarmed by the scowl on Kam's face, Maq thinks quickly as to what he can do to shift some of the blame off Sunil. Tera, however, with the mystery of the missing notebook solved, is more interested in other things. "Flight? Are you going somewhere?" Kamtrouble Kam's expression lightened. "Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm going to Ireland. For what I haven't the faintest." Apparently the revelations of the car trip have pushed Kam a little over the edge if she is telling total strangers about her hunches. Teralinth d'Kalin "Ireland? Interesting." Tera raises one elegant eyebrow. "But why are you going if you have no idea why you're going?" Maq relaxes. The two women were busy talking about this trip, and seemed to have forgotten about Sunil for the moment. Kamtrouble Kam sighed and gestured to the couch. "Mind if I sit? Its complicated." Teralinth d'Kalin Tera nods her head, motioning to the couch. "Sure. Mi casa es su casa." Kamtrouble Kam sat and looked down at her hands. "My hair wasn't always gray. I suppose that isn't important, but it was the beginning." She sighed and looked up and around the room. "I keep having these feelings and I know things I shouldn't have had any way to know. I knew how to find your house even though I've never been here. I know I'm going to Ireland, but I don't know why yet." Teralinth d'Kalin "Precognitive." Tera nods again, not looking surprised. "Are these your first episodes?" Kamtrouble Kam noted Tera's lack of surprise and if it were possible would have sweatdropped. "Yes. Of course they are. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. I always thought I was well... normal." Kam paused and looked at Tera quizzically. Teralinth d'Kalin Catching the expression on Kam's face, Tera smiles reassuringly. "I'm not from around here. Where I come from, just about everyone has some thing unusual about it." Kamtrouble "Oh." Kam just sort of sat there a little dumbfounded for a bit before catching sight of her watch. "I really think I have to go soon if I'm going to pack. Maybe I could ask you to watch Sunil? I have her locked in a closet right now, but that doesn't seem like a good idea depending on how long I'll be gone..." Kam trailed off, aware of how odd of a question that was. Will you watch my fairy for me? Who says that, she thought to herself. Teralinth d'Kalin "Aii, not a problem." With a soft musical laugh, Tera waves a hand to take in the living room. "There's plenty of room, and I'm sure Maq will like having his friend around more." Kamtrouble Kam smiled, relieved and stood. "Thank you. I'll send her over. I'm sure she knows the way. Maybe she can even tell you where your key is." Teralinth d'Kalin "That'll work. Where does she prefer to sleep?" Tera begins turning over possible places for another Feien to sleep in, especially an Air Feien. Kamtrouble "Actually she has a little feien sized bed at home I made for her. I'm not sure if she would want me to bring it here." Kam laughed a little. "Its girly. I think she is sensitive about it. Before I made the bed for her she used to just sleep on an extra pillow." Teralinth d'Kalin "Whichever she'd prefer." Tera grins slightly, tilting her head to one side. From everything she'd seen of Sunil, "girly" wouldn't be something she'd expect the Feien to associate with. "You could bring it here, or one of us could go over to your place to pick it up. Or she could always pick a spot in the house to call her own." Kamtrouble Kam glanced at her watch again, feeling anxious. "I think she'd prefer not to bring it here and you'll be lucky if she doesn't try to make the whole house her territory." Kam laughed a little to try and make that a joke, but the sad truth was Sunil probably would assume it was all open to her. "I probably should get going, but I'll send Sunil over?" Teralinth d'Kalin "Sure thing." Stretching a little as she rises, Tera makes a motion with her hand and a second fox-like creature, this black with green trim, appears from behind the couch to take up residence beside Kam's feet. "Emmett here will help Sunil carry whatever she decides she wants to bring, if anything. We've got great accommodations here at Chateau d'Tera." Kamtrouble Kam nodded and smiled down at Emmett. "Thanks so much! I'll see you when I get back." She turned to leave, making sure the fox was following and made her way out of the house.

X Marks the Spot Ruya backed out on hands and knees from searching below the kitchen counter, once again striking out. "Hmm," she mused to herself, "If I were a tiny dragon where would I keep my hoard?" A cave obviously, but what in the house would qualify as a cave? She was almost certain it had to be on the first floor, since this is where Bozidar spent most of his time, but she hadn't been able to narrow it down anymore than that. Oh wait! There he was! Ruya spotted Bozi out of the corner of her eye, dragging off a safety pin. She didn't look directly at him and tried to look busy with something there on the floor. He stopped and looked at her a little bit, but then resumed dragging his "treasure" off towards the basement door. Ruya frowned to herself. Was he trying to throw her off? She knew as well as he must that Kam kept that door locked at all times. She shifted a little so she could see him better, almost certain he was too concerned with his loot to pay attention to her. Her eyebrows shot up as she realized he had disappeared. One moment he had been by the door and now he wasn't. She narrowed her eyes at the door and resigned herself to keeping watch. If he had indeed gone into the basement somehow, he would have to come back out the same way.

Here Be Dragons Almost an hour later, Bozidar returned to the kitchen. Ruya wasn't actually watching the door at the time and missed how exactly he did it. "Ruya! Hey, are you listening to me?" Sunil poked her in the side of the head angrily and Ruya turned to look at her again. "Look Sunil, can we do this later? I've got stuff to take care of." Sunil scowled and looked beyond Ruya to try and see what she was talking about. Nothing but the basement door met her eyes and with a grumble, she took back off for her room. If Ruya wanted to get eaten by the stuff that lived in the basement, that was up to her. As soon as the coast was clear Ruya made her way over to the basement door and began looking for a way to enter. She blinked when she reached the part of the door right under the bottom hinge. A piece of light cardboard material patterned to look like wood covered a small hole in the door. It could easily be lifted up and the hole beneath it revealed. Ruya evaluated it and decided that her shoulders would probably fit through, but barely. She would have to hope the edges weren't particularly sharp. As she wiggled her way through, Ruya blinked at the sudden darkness. The only source of light appeared to be the hole she had come through. She sniffed and grimaced. Something smelled dead. She could only hope Bozidar's hoard was close to where she had come through.

Into the Dark Using her rapier, Ruya propped open the hole she had come through. Since it was about midday out in the kitchen this let in enough light for her to explore the top three steps and subsequent landing. Beyond there the light dropped off suddenly, leaving the rest of the basement in darkness. At first Ruya wasn't sure where to look, but after a coughing fit brought on by a cloud of dust she kicked up, she realized Bozi would have left footprints leading off to wherever he kept his hoard. So she looked down and started to get worried. There were several trails of little footprints that could be Bozidar's, but there were also a couple sets of larger tracks. Large circular tracks with a diameter of about 3 inches. Almost as wide as she was tall. She couldn't attach them in her mind to any resident of the house she had met, ignoring the fact that no one should be down here anyway. She shivered once and then shook her head. What nonsense. Who knew what made the tracks, but there was no reason to assume that whatever did so was hostile. Except for the fact that it was locked down in the basement... a little voice reminded her. Steeling herself, Ruya picked a set of tiny prints with drag marks beside them and began following. There was nothing to worry about. She would find the hoard, take the chain, and then return to the daylight of the kitchen where she could laugh about how scared she had been. Following the tracks led straight into the darkness below the landing, so Ruya sat and tried to figure out her next move. She couldn't see in the dark, but there had to be something she could do. "Aha!" She said, her voice echoing around her eerily. "A match." She whispered the second part, already worried something had heard her, She hadn't really heard anything except the sound of dripping water in the time she had been sitting, but that didn't mean nothing was down there. If the basement was as large as the first floor in area, there was a lot she wouldn't be able to hear from where she was. She stood and slowly turned her back on the darkness, trudging back upstairs to get a match from the kitchen. Except that she couldn't get her rapier back out of the hole where she had wedged it. There was no way to get the proper leverage to pull it out. She was trapped. Trapped in a dark basement that would only get darker as the day went on and the sun set.

Curiouser and Curiouser Sunil scowled as Rishi wandered into her room. "What the hell do you want?" "I can't find her." It was the only time Rishi had ever really spoken to Sunil and it was clear from his tone he wasn't happy about it. "Check the backyard. Maybe she is out there with Silva or that damn orange one." "I looked out the window. She isn't there." Sunil sighed and set down the weight she was working with. "Maybe she went out to the shop or something." "No. She would have told me. Or brought me. I go everywhere she does." "Fine! I'll look for her." Sunil stomped out of her room past Rishi and started down the stairs. The kitchen was the last place she had seen her, so it was a logical place to start. She set down on the windowsill to the back porch and looked outside. Despite Rishi's insistence, if Ruya couldn't be found in the house she was most likely in the backyard. But after a moment of looking, Sunil didn't see her and she turned back to the kitchen. She finally turned and looked at the basement door. Ruya had been looking at it when she saw her in the kitchen earlier. What if she had found a way in? Nonsense. There was no way in, just like there was no way out. Right? Meanwhile, Ruya had started to explore the depths of the basement itself. She could no longer get out through the door, but perhaps there was another way. Bozidar had come trundling along after a while and as soon as he squeezed by the rapier, Ruya had snatched him. There had been a brief struggle resulting in a minor burn on Ruya's right arm, but eventually her dominance had been established. Bozidar was now functioning as a portable torch, tucked under Ruya's left arm. They hadn't gone very far down the stairs when Ruya found out what smelled dead. A small rat lay across the step, its skull completely crushed and its stomach ripped out. Rat entrails were spread out over the rest of the step. Ruya just stared in horror for a second before turning and gagging. Bozidar used that moment of weakness to squeeze out of her grasp and hopped down onto the step below, scrambling away and leaving Ruya alone and terrified in the dark. Sunil hopped down off the windowsill and onto the floor by the basement door, drawn by something she hadn't noticed before. A hole in the door, normally hidden by a piece of what looked like carboard, had been revealed and was wedged with a yellow cocktail rapier. Sunil blinked. It looked like she had found where Ruya had gone, but she didn't really know what to do about it. No way was she going to fit through such a small hole.

Rescuing Ruya Silva Silva stood in the mid-afternoon sun, staring at the backyard with a strange look of contemplation on his face. What Ice had said about giving people what they wanted had stuck in his head, an idea slowly forming in his mind that could go either way. But hell, it wasn't as if he had much to screw up that he hadn't already. He cracked his neck, pulling the string that hung around his waist off and testing its strength. It wasn't his chain, but it was better than nothing. Sunil Sunil stared at the hole in the door in puzzlement for a moment and then hopped back up on the windowsill. She turned to look out at the backyard and sat down in the sunlight to think. Perhaps she should ask for help? Sunil scowled. She hated to ask for help, it meant admitting she couldn't do it. But then again, Sunil was going to be in trouble if Ruya went missing or worse, ended up dead. She stood and made her way out to the fence in the backyard. If Silva was around he could most likely be enlisted to assist Ruya. Silva The rat was weary, he could tell. It made him smirk slightly as he slipped from shadow to shadow, stalking it as it scuttled through the grass. He was almost surprised they even HAD rats around still. He had killed a good half dozen over the past month or so. He cursed as he realized the rat was heading toward the fence between his and Ruya's house. The b*****d wouldn't escape him that easily. Sunil Sunil smirked as she noticed motion. A quick check revealed that it was indeed her target. But he was on the move. She scowled and then yelled his name. "Silva!" Silva He jerked, cursing as the rat got away and reluctantly stepping out of the shadows. Sunil was calling? He blinked, not having expected that. He wiped the reaction off his face, giving her a leering grin just to piss her off. "Darlin! What brings you to my humble abode?" Sunil Sunil shrugged off his look. She was getting better at not giving away everything she was thinking. I need your help? No that sounded too weak. He would use that against her. Ah, she knew how to phrase it. With a smirk, Sunil crossed her arms over her chest. "Ruya is in danger. I assumed you might be interested in helping her." Silva He hid his first reaction quickly, raising a skeptical eyebrow. "You might not have heard, darlin, but she dumped me. Don't see why I should give a damn one way or another." But he needed to find out what was wrong... "Unless there's some sort of... profit in it for me." He finished, sure she would come up with something. Sunil Sunil snorted. "You gave her your chain. Your unconcerned bullshit doesn't fool me." She raised an eyebrow at him. "After Despair uses your chain to strangle Ruya to death I'll make sure you get it back. I know how important one's weapon can be." Silva He jerked, his face showing the shock her words brought on for a second before he nodded, wrapping the rope around his waist. "Fine. Let's go." He took to the air, heading for Ruya's house without bothering to wait for Sunil. "You're going to have to show me where she is." He called over his shoulder. Sunil Sunil smirked and patted herself on the back for the last part. She had no idea if Ruya would run into Despair or not. Sometimes he kept to himself. She followed after Silva and landed on the kitchen floor just inside the window. Then she pointed to the hole in the door. "I'm almost certain she is down there, but not anywhere near the door or she would have heard me earlier." She shrugged and looked Silva up and down. "I won't fit through the hole even if we get the rapier out, but you're smaller." Silva He nodded, clamping down on his toothpick as he headed towards the hole. Then he paused, turning to look at her. "Before I go... What all am I getting into? Or do you not know?" Sunil Sunil shrugged and unwound the whip on her shoulder. "I'm not sure. The only official resident of the basement is Despair. He looks like a child's stuffed bunny, but give him half a chance and he'll probably rip off your wings. If you and Ruya can avoid him, it shouldn't be that bad since you can see in the dark." She shifted from foot to foot, annoyed she had to explain things. The end result might be more amusing if she didn't. "Struturally, behind the door is a set of stairs into the basement. The basement itself is about the size of the first floor of the house." She guestured at the kitchen and living room door. "According to Kam it is divided into rooms, a little like a maze." Disgusted with herself, she held out the whip. "If you want it, you may borrow my whip. Should work a lot like your chain." She smirked. "Just don't lose it." Silva He shook his head, showing the rope that he held. It was his jumprope, with the small bolt at one end. It worked as a decent weapon in a pinch. "I've got something. And I'll be getting my chain back sooner or later." He turned, looking at the hole for a second. "Darlin... I've faced two psychopaths so far. If I get taken out by a stuffed rabbit I SWEAR I'll come back and haunt you." He turned, slipping through the hole feet first before she could reply. He paused for a second, turning on his night vision and looking around. "... cozy." Sunil Sunil wound the whip back up, relieved to still have it and flew up on top of the counter to watch the door. Ruya After being abandoned in the dark, Ruya wasn't sure what to do. She turned around to try and find the next step, but she just ended up totally disoriented. So she sat down where she was and hugged her knees to her chest. Maybe Bozidar would come back if she waited. Ruya Ruya perked up. Was someone speaking to her? She abandoned caution and yelled back out into the darkness. "Hello?" As her own voice echoed back to her a little, she realized the other voice hadn't done the same. She wondered if she had imagined it until it happened again, louder and a bit threatening. Silva "Well... s**t." He muttered, the voice echoing in his head. It was like Io had been, speaking in his head without his permission. He turned, not thinking yelling was a good idea. If that voice was the bunny Sunil was talking about the last thing he wanted was his attention. He moved into the darkness, looking for Ruya so he could get her and get out. Why in the hell was she down here in the first place, anyways? She didn't even like the spot under the porch stairs! Ruya Ruya tried thinking back at the voice, sending her name and a general picture of herself. She didn't get a response, not that she expected one. Staying here wasn't going to help, she decided. Even if Bozidar came back she wouldn't see him if snuck by her. So she stood and decided to fly. If she kept one hand on the wall, she should be able to make her way down the stairs. There had to be another way out. Otherwise how did the rat get here? So she stood and picked a direction, walking with her hands out in front of her just hoping she didn't walk off this stair and into the one below. Unluckily, she tripped over the raised edge of the stair and pitched forward with a very loud scream, landing on something cold and fuzzy. Silva Good thing was? He had found her. Bad thing was? He didn't know how far she had fallen. He took to the sky, diving towards the stairs and catching glimpse of her and... something furry. "s**t!" He dived, reaching out to grab her before the thing she was sitting on realized she was there. Ruya Realizing she was probably laying on top of the dead rat, Ruya just kept screaming. The rational part of her mind said that wasn't going to help anything, but she was too panicked to try and get off. Silva He scooped her up, forcing his magic to lift them back into the air as he struggled to cover her mouth with his hand. "Shut it, darlin, or you'll get us both killed." Her weight wasn't too bad, but he wasn't used to flying while holding things. Ruya She stopped screaming as she heard the familiar voice and she reached up to pull his hand away from her mouth. "Silva?" Silva "Who else would be stupid enough to chase you into this hellhole?" He asked, almost philosophically. "Why'd you come in here, anyways? What with that damn killer bunny I would have thought you'd avoid this place." He dropped down on the top of the stairs, letting her down slowly so that her body rubbed against his. He wanted to know the answer to his question. Something told him he wasn't going to like it. Ruya "Killer bunny? Is that why Kam keeps the door locked all the time?" Ruya frowned and fidgeted. Ignorance wasn't going to be enough of an explanation for her being here. "I came down here because this is where Bozidar keeps his hoard." She avoided his eyes. "He stole something of mine and I need to get it back." Silva "..." He looked at her, wondering what would be important enough to chase down here for. If it was that stone the little orange s**t had given her he would damn well leave it to her to get it on her own. Bunny or no bunny. But did he even want to know? He shrugged, looking around at the platform they stood on. There wasn't anything except for some dust and spiders. "Then we're going to have to go down the stairs." He said, scowling and heading for them. He wanted to get this over with. He had other things he wanted to discuss. Ruya "No. We're not going anywhere. I have to do this alone." She spoke quietly, crossing her arms over her chest and looking at her feet. "He stole your chain Silva." Silva Those words stopped him mid-step. "My... chain." He replied, not looking at her. "And you expect me to let you go down there and get killed? That way I lose you AND my chain, right? Wait, I already lost you." He turned, a strange smirk on his face. "And I'm supposed to leave my chain to be found by a little girl that can't even see in the dark?" He snorted. "I don't think so. Now either come with me or try finding it on your own before I do. Either way I'm going to get my chain back." Ruya Ruya looked up and scowled at him. "I lost it and I'm trying to make it right. I'll never forgive myself if you're the one who finds it after I lost it." Ruya Ruya jumped and looked down the stairs. Was there something moving down there? One of the lower steps creaked, loud in the rather quiet basement. "s**t," she whispered. Silva "Fine. I'll lead you to it then you can 'Find' the damn thing." He muttered, the hair on the back of his neck attempting to stand as the voice and the noise cracked in the air. "But let's do this fast, darlin. Before whatever's at the bottom of the stairs decides to play with the pretty fairies." Ruya "This sucks. How am I supposed to do anything in the dark? I can't even see you to follow you." She whispered the words, her voice barely audible. Silva He scowled, then sighed, unwrapping the rope around her waist tying one end around his wrist. Then he grabbed her hand, wrapping the other end around hers. "This should keep you from losing me, darlin. But I might have to take it off if we run into something." "Since my chain happens to be somewhere else." He finished, tugging on the rope to make sure it was tied correctly. Ruya "I didn't mean to lose it." She looked at the rope around her wrist. "Thanks. I was gonna follow Bozidar's footprints in the dust. That might be a good way to find his hoard if you can see them from the air." Silva He nodded, then realizing she probably couldn't hear it, spoke. "All right darlin. Let's fly." He shoved off the ground, launching into the sky slowly as he examined the floor. There were several footprints, including his own and Ruya's. But... there. He grunted, tugging on the rope slightly as he followed the trail with the drag mark next to it. Whatever he had been dragging was long, thin, and heavy. Just like his chain. It headed directly towards the stairs. "Darlin? Does the dragon know how to fly?" Ruya Ruya considered the question carefully. "I haven't ever seen him fly, but I guess he might be able to. What are we gonna do then?" Silva "Even if he could fly he couldn't carry that chain while flying for long..." He muttered, heading over the stairs, watching from the sky. He frowned, then caught sight of the trail again. "How the hell does he avoid the rabbit?" Ruya "Maybe he doesn't," Ruya whispered with a shiver. "Maybe they get along. Bozi didn't seem bothered by the dead rat when we came across it earlier." She kept following the string tied to her arm, trying not to fall behind. "He should still be down here in fact." Silva "Yeah." He muttered, going further into the darkness. The trail kept going down, as if the dragon jumped down the steps one at a time. He sniffed the air for smoke, wondering if that might lead him closer. The other footprints had been three inches wide, meaning the bunny wasn't a small creature. He looked around, remembering what Sunil had said about the maze of rooms. "Darlin? Has Sunil ever said anything about coming down here?" Ruya Ruya swung her head around in Silva's general direction, feeling blind. She hated not being able to see, it felt like she was trapped in some sort of very tiny box. "Not to me, but as far as I know the basement wasn't always locked. The washer and dryer used to be down here. Kam said something about it once. How nice it was not to have to go down an extra set of stairs." Silva "Huh." He muttered, seeing the tracks veer off slightly. "To the left, darlin." He altered their direction slightly, expecting her to follow. He didn't really want to talk too much, the rabbit might hear them. But he had to bring something up while it was in her mind. "I've been thinking about what you asked for, darlin." He said, lowering slightly so he could keep track of the tracks. Ruya She was glad of the advance warning as they switched direction. It was tough to folow him close enough not to tug on the rope, which wasn't very comfortable. "For you to sleep with me?" She colored slightly in the dark. It was the last thing she could remember asking him. Silva He scowled. "No, darlin. The one about just being friends for a while." He spoke quietly, scowling as he saw more of the large footprints. They were fresh... "I think it might work." He finished, sounding as serious as possible. "No touching, just... talking." Ruya "Oh, ok." That sounded good, but it didn't really sound like Silva. "What changed your mind?" Despair Closer... I can't reach... Ruya Ruya jerked, pulling on the string connecting her to Silva. Was that voice talking to them? Silva "Nothing... important, darlin." He said, scowling as he saw the prints heading into a small hole in the steps. But the voice bugged him. "Darlin, why don't you stay here while I check something out?" He flew closer to her, untying the roped from her wrist. "And uh... get a little higher while you're at it." He would blend with the shadows, and hope to high hell that the rabbit wouldn't be quick enough to catch him. Or tall enough to catch her. Ruya Ruya reached out for him blindly as he untied her. "Ok, but please don't forget me and leave me alone in the dark." She hugged herself and used her magic to go higher and hover. Silva He grunted, moving before she could touch him. How was he going to do this while letting her think she had found the chain? He scowled, telling himself to take one thing at a time. The rabbit was... He looked around, scowling as he realized that it was staring directly at him. "... s**t." He muttered, taking a deep breath and getting ready to dive. Despair Despair was very happy to have two new potential playmates. The dragon wasn't much fun, too small to catch and all hot. Despair didn't like warmth anymore than he liked light, so for the most part he and the dragon left eachother alone. But these new things looked fun. They didn't have light and they wouldn't be warm for long. Yes, closer... He clapped, staring at one of them with sightless button eyes. Ruya Ruya stayed up by the ceiling, prefering the spiderwebs she could feel to whatever was talking down below. Silva "Not today, fluffy." He muttered, diving to the left then zipping straight down, barely avoiding the rabbit and slipping feet first into the hole where Bozi's tracks had led to. "I hate rabbits." He muttered, looking around. Despair Despair slowly turned, looking for the fairy. It didn't appear to be anywhere in the immediate vicinity, so he turned his head to keep watching the one up above. Bozidar Below the stair, Bozi squeaked indignantly as Silva invaded his cave. Then he started huffing, sitting squarely on a pile of earrings, safety pins, some foil, and yes - Silva's chain. He obviously couldn't decide whether to char Silva or not. Silva "You took my chain, you little s**t." Silva growled, spinning his rope like a lasso. The bolt was at the end of it, making the spin go well. "Now I'm going to get it back." He sent the string flying, hoping that the bolt would have the rope wrapping around the dragon's stubby little legs and hogtie him. Bozidar Bozidar decided to flame right as Silva sent the rope flying at him. It wrapped around his legs, but it also had caught the bulk of the blast. He growled at Silva and chomped part of the chain in question in his mouth. Silva "That..." Silva growled. "Pisses me off." He waited till the dragon was busy chomping at the rope to tackle it to the ground. He forced the small dragon's face away from him as he dug through the pile of jewels and things behind him. "Got it!" Bozidar Bozidar continued to growl, but it was clear he was overpowered. Silva was the big dragon. He stopped struggling and just waited for Silva to take what he needed and leave. Ruya Ruya was starting to get nervous up in the air. It seemed like forever since Silva had left. "Silva?" Silva "That's what I thought." He muttered, arrogantly rubbing the dragon's head before slipping out of the hole. He left the rest of the hoarde there, figuring the dragon deserved it after all his hard work. He scowled, seeing the rabbit focused on Ruya. She was blind in this place, and getting nervous by the looks of it. He started towards her, putting as much speed as he could behind his flight. Hopefully the rabbit wouldn't notice he wasn't as fast going up as he was going down. Despair Despair turned slowly away from Ruya. The other one was back? He reached out with both paws, just barely catching the end of one of Silva's feet. Ruya Ruya fidgeted when she didn't get a response. He probably just couldn't hear her, but what if something had happened? She dipped a little lower in the air. Silva He jerked, feeling his foot stuck between the rabbit's paws, then turned, glaring at him and cussing. "Now that just ain't right." He muttered, before pulling the trick he had been practicing for a while. He kicked upwards, using the giant strength thing and all of his flight magic to slam it back down on the rabbit's paw. He hoped the pain would be enough to have the rabbit loosening his grip just enough for him to get away. Despair Despair let go with a mental howl. He hadn't expected such violence from something so little. How annoying. Ruya Ruya dipped a little lower again, still trying to figure out what was going on. "Silva, are you ok?" Silva "Stay up there darlin, I'm coming to you." He called out, fighting the urge to kick the b*****d again. He wanted to teach the damn thing to stay away from feien. ESPECIALLY since Ruya lived here. But he was worried Ruya would get impatient so he flew upwards, grabbing her hand. "I was wrong. It must be at the top of the stairs, after all." He lied, dragging her back to the top platform of the stairs. Ruya "But I already looked there," Ruya complained as he pulled her back up to the top platform of the stairs. Despair Despair watched them go, and made his own way to the stairs. They'd be trapped up at the top by the door. It was a good way to trap his playmates. Silva He jerked as he heard the creeking on the steps. "Darlin... look, as much as I would like to pander to your ego, you can't find the chain. We gotta get out of here. And quick." He dragged her faster, hoping to outrun the lumbering rabbit as he headed for the small hole. Ruya "I know." She sounded scared, her voice quavering a little. She had no idea what was following them up the stairs, but she knew she really didn't want to meet it if Silva was worried. She used her own speed to get ahead of him, dragging him along. Despair Despair continued up the stairs, following them slowly. He knew he had them, no need to run. Silva His chain was wrapped around his waist, making him feel more confident, but his jumprope was lost... it sucked. And that damn rabbit was getting closer. Finally they reached the platform, reaching the hole. "Go through, darlin." Ruya She felt bad leaving him to be the one who might need to deal with the thing behind them, but she wanted out and she wanted out badly. "Ok." She went in headfirst, putting her arms ahead of her so she could use them to pull herself out the otherside faster. As soon as she got on the other side, she hissed back through. "Come on!" Despair Despair halted as he reached the top of the stairs. One of them appeared to be gone, but the other was still here. The one who had hurt him. He lurched forward with caution, remembering the painful kick from before. Mine! Silva "Not in this lifetime you b*****d." Silva replied, sliding feet first through the hole right before the rabbit could catch him. The flap of cardboard almost fell on his face, making him roll to get out of the way. Panting slightly he stared up at the ceiling, a laugh choking him for a second, then bursting out. "Damn! That... ROCKED!" Ruya Ruya just stared at Silva, totally speechless. "That... rocked?" She sat down on the floor and wrapped her arms around herself. "That sucked! You had to find your own chain and we got chased by some large killer rabbit! You're insane." Silva He sat up, still grinning slightly. "It's all in the way you look at it, darlin. We're alive, aren't we? And the important part is that I GOT my chain, not who found it." He shrugged, not understanding why she was so down. "But hell, darlin, I warned you I was like this." He tried to stand, but wound up falling backwards again, every muscle in his body trembling slightly from the kick he had dealt the rabbit. Ruya She looked up in alarm as he fell and scooted her way over to him. "You ok?" She put a hand on his cheek and stared at his face for a minute. "Thanks for rescuing me. And not from yourself." Silva "I'm uh... fine darlin." He muttered, moving his face away. "But the rule is no touching. We're just friends, remember?" He gritted his teeth, shoving himself to his feet and feeling the adrenaline rush slowly leaving his body. He gave her a crooked smirk. "But keep out of the basement, alright? I'm one of those one-shot heroes. It probably won't be happening again." He turned, walking towards the door. "See ya, pal." Ruya "Right. See ya." She frowned and laid down on the floor to stare at the ceiling. Friends, huh? Whatever. She pushed herself to her feet and started off towards her room. She needed to clean up.

I'm what? I woke up to a shriek instead of cold water this morning. It was quite the rude awakening. I've actually started to get used to our daily routine of working out in the morning and to deviate from it felt odd.
Anyway, the shrieking was Sunil. I grew up!
I look a lot the same, but my wings are really cool and sorta long. And I have fangs! I was really surprised by that. Sunil made a lot of rude/stupid comments about them and we did an experiment to see if they were hollow. They don't appear to be.
I don't really feel all that different about being an adult except that I am taller than Sunil now! Not by much, but I am. Its a nice feeling.~Ruya

Formatting thanks to Ice Queen. ^_^ Friends, Fangs, Surfing & Sunglasses Ruya Ruya stepped out of the kitchen window and lowered herself and Rishi onto the back porch. Carrying him had actually gotten much easier now that she had no problem putting her arms around him. "I kinda like my wings," she said to him, settling herself down on a porch step. She craned her neck to look at them for a minute before folding them behind her and looking to Rishi for a response. Rishi didn't say anything though, just laid down beside her and stuck his head in her lap. He looked up at her and wagged his tail, making her laugh a little. "I know, I know." She scratched his ears, causing his tail to wag even faster. "Stop talking about myself." Silva New rules to the game... how the hell did you treat a "Friend" in the first place? Honestly, he had never actually had one before. Unless you counted Ice, and she wasn't a friend. She was a bondmate. Maybe, he thought, an evil idea popping into his brain, you talked about other interesting things... like girls. Or maybe hunting, or even working out. Hell, she might work out... Silva headed for the yard behind his, his chain hanging around his hip, a contemplative look on his face as he chewed idly on his toothpick. He wanted to further his "Friend" plan as quickly as possible, because frankly, he was feeling horny. Ruya Ruya continued scratching behind Rishi's ears and leaned back to enjoy a nice breeze. Between a new edition to the household and growing up, the weekend had been a busy one and it was nice to have a couple quiet minutes in the backyard with her best friend. "Think other people will be as surprised as Sunil when they see I've grown up?" She reached up and felt the fangs that had grown in curiously, remembering Sunil's unhappy reaction to finding that Ruya was taller than her. Silva He slipped through the hole in the fence, crossing the yard only to stop and look blankly at the adult feien sitting on the step. It was female... even had the same markings and coloring as-- "Darlin? That you?" He asked, moving closer. She was sitting down, but even like that he could tell she was a lot taller then he was. Ruya Startled, Ruya looked up as she heard Silva talk. She had the odd urge to run back inside and hide, but Rishi's weight kept her seated. "Hi Silva," she said shyly. "I grew up." She looked at him wanting to see his response, no matter what it was. Silva He looked her over for a second, a smirk pulling at his lips. "You sure did." He liked adult females, so much more territory to cover and-- Dammit, he was supposed to be just "Friends." He paused as he got closer, frowning slightly at the new addition to his darlin. "Are those... fangs?" How the heck do you make out with someone with fangs? Ruya Ruya frowned and brought a hand up to cover the fangs. "Yes. They're going to take some getting used to." She rolled her eyes. "Sunil asked me if I could suck people's blood with them." Silva He raised one eyebrow, reaching out and gently pulling her hand away. Then he took his thumb, running it gently over the fang. "I doubt you'll be sucking much blood, darlin. Too messy." He paused, pulling his hand away before he could ask how sensetive the teeth were. He had said no touching, after all. He dropped down on the stair next to her, ignoring the dog on her lap. The first chance he had to make out with an adult feien and he was stuck to his screwed up honor system. How wrong was that? Ruya "They're not hollow anyway." She smiled, happy to have him around. She had wondered what he would think of her transofrmation. Rishi eyed Silva as the male feien sat by his Ruya, but stood with a yawn and wandered off to another side of the porch. "I'm taller than you," she said teasingly to break the silence. "I'm taller than Sunil too." Silva "I don't mind, darlin. I have a thing for taller females." He leaned back, still watching her with a slight smirk. "So, darlin, how'd it happen? Did you just wake up one day three inches taller? Or did it happen at an awkward moment?" He scowled, imagining her changing mid-kiss with the orange boy, then snorting at the thought of him getting ripped apart by the fangs. Ruya Ruya laughed and ran a hand through her hair. "It happened in my sleep. Sunil came to wake me up for our daily workout and she freaked out. I spent like the next hour looking at myself in the bathroom." Silva "Well stand up and let me get a look, darlin." He twirled his finger, arrogantly. "I want to see how you've changed since I saved you." Ruya Ruya gave Silva a look, but stood anyway. She lifted her wings, stretching them out to their full length and did a complete revolution for him. "See anything you like?" She said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. Silva "Mmmm..." He almost purred, admiring her long, well curved legs. "But that's not what matters, darlin. Since we're just going to be... friends." Suddenly the word tasted foul. He wanted to see if he could figure out how to kiss her without being shish-ka-bob'd. But he had a plan. "What matters is how does it feel? Being an adult?" Ruya Ruya shrugged and sat back down beside him. She stared out at the lawn for a moment to collect her thoughts. She hadn't really been an adult for all that long. "I feel taller," she smiled apologetically at him, "I really only feel different physically, inside I feel the same. No big revelation that goes along with getting older." Silva "Huh... I kinda figured that." He said, relaxing and watching her through lowered eyelashes. "No sudden urges to find a decent guy and fall into a boringly decent relationship? I'm stunned." He was slightly sarcastic, hiding his sudden worry. Maybe there was a problem with just being friends. Looking like she did, save for the fangs, she could hunt down one of those adult males and forget all about him. Being short sucked... Ruya Ruya laughed and laid back on the porch with her hands behind her head for support. "No, no urges to do any such thing." Was he... worried? She narrowed her eyes at him in concentration briefly before looking away. "Think you'll be tall when you grow up Silva?" What if he was still too short when he grew up? That would just be weird. She didn't want to have to bend down to kiss someone, assuming one even could kiss someone with fangs. That thought hadn't occured to her before and she frowned. Silva "Don't know darlin... I could be." Ice had never said whether he would be tall, he doubted she even knew. "But hell, I'm not the type of guy that goes for a 'decent' type of relationship, whether I'm tall or not." He winked at her. "I'm much more interested in 'indecent.'" Ruya Ruya blushed a little and turned away for a minute. Then she looked at him again and smiled, sitting up. "Being just friends with someone is pretty decent." Silva "Well, darlin, that's because I have ulterior motives." He told her, smirking so that she didn't know if he was being serious or not. "But that's another topic. We were discussing your new body." Her wings were larger then they had been, that meant the spot they had found before breaking up was... "Hmmm... larger hotspot, darlin?" Ruya "Huh?" She just looked at him in confusion. Hotspot? What was he talking about? She gave him a sidelong glance, he had to be talking about something sexual. But what? "I don't think friends discuss eachothers' bodies. I know Sunil and I don't." Silva "Oh, sorry darlin. I'm still learning how this just friends stuff works." He leaned back, not sounding very appologetic despite his words. "Hell, it's probably best we're just friends right now. I'd have to learn how to climb--" He stopped, drawing it out with an evil little smirk. "And making out would take longer, that's for sure... What with so much territory to cover." He fell back on his back, staring at the sky as he tried to cool off. Even the idea was getting him excited. This just friends idea? It sucked... seriously. Ruya Ruya fidgeted for a second, trying to make up her mind. She sighed and then moved, putting her arms on either side of him and looking down at him, leaning over him from the side. She bent down, so her face wasn't that far from his. "You wouldn't have to climb." She said quietly, blushing furiously. "If you were laying down like this." Silva "Mmm...." He purred, his natural inclinition battling with his plan. She was so close... and so... "No, darlin. You wanted just friends, I'm going to keep to that plan." He sighed, dissapointed with his own decision, but sticking to it. It was starting to work, after all. "Can't deny you of what you want, after all." Ruya Ruya sat back down and tossed her hair, not looking at him. Right, of course. The whole point of being friends was to see if she even liked Silva without the fooling around. "Of course." She said, calmer. "So, what have you been up to since you rescued me from the basement? Your chain in ok shape?" Silva ... damn. Didn't work. But he was patient. A few more weeks and she'd be complaining. He was already close to it. "Nothing much, darlin. Worked on my workout schedule, did some hunting, tried that ferret gliding thing." He smirked, the memory coming to his mind. He had played with that for an entire afternoon. "It's a blast, darlin, like flying, but without the work for the speed." "I'm thinking about finding a new hobby, too. Any suggestions?" Ruya She stifled the urge to suggest painting. She really wasn't sure that would be something Silva would enjoy. "You could always try reading," Ruya suggested with a grin. "There are a lot of good books out there." She didn't really see him sitting around for that either. What he needed was something active. "Or maybe you could try something musical?" Really she was at a loss as to what to tell him. Silva "I read--" He stopped, deciding that telling his ex-girlfriend about his stash of hentai manga wasn't the best idea. "Comics." He finished, shrugging. "Ice has a stash of them." "Music, huh? Think I could find a musical instrument in my size even if I wanted one?" He shrugged, thinking it through. He wasn't artistic, his idea of good music included men that had overdosed on drugs years before he had been created, and porn probably wasn't what she considered high-class reading material. "I dunno, darlin... I'll have to think about it." Ruya "Yeah, you need something more active." She said thoughtfully. She sighed and leaned back on her hands. "You could try surfing if you could figure out how to get feien sized waves. I saw a show about surfers on TV the other day." She looked over at him and smirked. "Some of them were pretty hot." Silva "... Surfing?" He repeated, blinking as he realized how good an idea that was. "Darlin that's genius!" "Hmmm... I'm going to need a surfboard, a pool and some way to make waves... Or maybe I could hit Ice up to try and make a miniature... Some sort of motor..." He went on, enthused with this idea, then pausing. "Think you can surf before it gets too bright, darlin? Or am I going to need sunglasses?" Ruya "I don't know. It seemed pretty sunny in all the footage they showed on TV. You'd look good in a pair of sunglasses though." She reached over and ran the back of her hand down his cheek, before pulling it back with a short laugh. "Sorry. I keep forgetting. It feels so natural to touch you." Silva He nodded, his body tingling slightly where she had touched him, but his mind still on the idea. "I'll have to get some wire and break Ice's old pair of sunglasses. She won't complain since she just bought a new pair..." He grinned, an honest grin of anticipation. "I think I could make this work, darlin. I really do. And here I was complaining when Ice took me to that damn Wall... something." He would need a blow-up kiddie pool, sand, and a fishtank pump... The water he could get from the house. "But how the hell am I going to get a feien sized surfboard?" Ruya "Since I doubt doll surfboards really have the correct shape, I think you might have to make one." Ruya smiled apologetically. "Or maybe a doll one would be close enough. I'm sure Ken has a surfboard." She was happy to be able to help him. Hanging out with Silva was actually pretty nice. Silva "Hmm..." He paused, thinking back to one of his trips through the door. The last guy... or second to last guy... he might have had a surfboard in the corner. Of course it was too big, but it would give him the shape... "I think I might be able to figure something out, darlin. I just need to... talk to a few people." He turned, looking at her. "You gonna watch, darlin? I'll even let you laugh when I drown the first few times." Ruya "Of course I'll watch if you'll let me." She smirked, deciding to push the friend thing again. "I'll even give you mouth to mouth if you need it." Silva He blinked, finally jerked from his plans and gave her a dark look. "I guess I could make an exception. But ONLY if I'm drownin, darlin. Can't have you taking advantage." He smirked. "But I should get goin. I've got a pair of sunglasses to break." Ruya Ruya snorted. "You're my friend Silva. I would never take advantage of you." She smiled sweetly and then waved her hand dismissively towards his house. "Be gone. Go and make your surfing dream come true." Silva "Oh... we'll see about that." He muttered, shoving himself to his feet with a wicked grin. "But I'll see what I can do. I'll make it work, too. I usually make things work." He looked at her, wanting to touch but restraining himself. "Thanks darlin, I owe you." Then he stepped back, disappearing into the shadows, save for the fact he was whistling an old Pink Floyd song as he went.

Life Goes On I've had an exciting couple of days. Not only did I grow up, but I also went on a rather unpleasant adventure in the basement. Silva came to see me before I grew up and he told me all about his adventures beyond the door. About how dangerous they were. And then he said goodbye, so I asked him to stay with me. He got really pissed off, but left me his chain.
It wasn't what I wanted, but it was a nice guesture. Unfortunately I lost it not long after I got it. I spent forever tracking it down, only to find Bozidar had hauled it off for his hoard. Stupid dragon. I did find it mildly amusing that it was Silva's gift that stole Silva's chain, but my excursion into the basement cured me of my amusement at the situation.
Anyway, Silva had to rescue me from the basement and find his own chain. That sucked, but Silva didn't seem to mind. Oh and he told me he just wanted to be friends, which is exactly what I asked for when we broke up and he turned down so I'm a little suspicious. But it is what I asked for, so I'm not going to worry about it too much.
And after I grew up, the second person I've seen was Silva. He came over and told me he liked how I looked. It made me feel nice. It is always nice to feel like someone appreciates you. Even if you do have fangs to rival Dracula.
He went off thinking about trying to learn how to surf. I can't wait to see what mechanism he uses to produce surfable waves.
Working out with Sunil in the morning has been nice. I feel like I have more energy, since we started. I'm not sure I feel stronger, but that's alright. I don't really need to be physically stronger. However, as a result my reading has suffered. I've really fallen behind.
I think I may try and start reading a series Kam gave me a while ago and I've ignored, The Fionavar Tapestry. Kam told me that in fact one of the feien, Aileron, was named after one of the main characters of the series. Perhaps he has read them? After I've read them maybe I'll try to get in touch with him.~ Ruya

Flashback! Again. Kam was silent on the way back to her house, thinking about her upcoming trip. She was hoping that if she thought about it enough, the feeling would firm up and she could make some guesses about it. Once inside the front door, Kam made her way angrily up the stairs and ripped open the door to Sunil's closet where the fairy had been stashed. Sunil was sitting on the floor with her back to the opposite wall, watching the door. "I knew you'd reconsider," she said arrogantly, standing and stretching. "Heh. You're going away. Pack up everything you need and then follow Emmett," she guestured to the fox-like creature at her heels. "to Tera's house. I'm leaving and since I can't trust you here, I'm sending you to stay with her and her two feien." Sunil did her best to look pissed off. Kam was leaving, she wouldn't have to stay with Ruya, and in fact she got to stay with Maq and Quantel. Not bad. She had no idea what she had done to deserve this, but she wasn't going to screw it up by letting on to Kam. "Whatever. Better make Ruya take care of Susu, I'm not gonna lug him all the way over to another house." Sunil stomped off to a corner of her closet and started piling things up. After a moment of doing this she sighed in disgust. "Screw it. I don't need any of the crap from this house." Sunil stuck her nose up in the air and flew over to perch on Emmett's back. "I'm out." Kam rolled her eyes at Emmett in apology and then led them down the stairs, where she held the front door open for them. "I'd walk you back, but I've got some packing to do. I'm sure Emmett knows the way home." Kam closed the door with a bit more force than was necessary before stomping over to a window to watch the two make their way down the street.

Day by Day "Sunil?" Ruya peeked in Sunil's closet, holding onto the doorframe. Sunil looked up from where she was sitting on the floor patting Susu, clearly annoyed. "What?" Ruya raised both eyebrows at the tone, unsure why Sunil was so annoyed. "You never woke me up to go work out. Aren't we still going to do that?" Sunil sighed and pushed Susu off her lap, standing slowly. She didn't bother to approach Ruya, but made a guesture that could have been interpreted as inviting her in. Ruya stepped into the room, but didn't get too close. Reminding Sunil of their new height difference would only serve to annoy her further. "I thought we would start alternating with magic sessions. You did want to learn both, didn't you." It was a nice sentiment, but the way Sunil said it made Ruya wonder what she had done to piss the older feien off. She shrugged anyway, and moved closer to Sunil. Sunil turned without a word and made her way over to sit by her bonsai. Ruya followed and sat opposite Sunil and shot her a questioning look. "I like to practice by the bonsai. Like with working out, I find it best to have a routine. You'll have to find your own. First, empty your mind." Sunil closed her eyes and Ruya followed suit. The two feien fell into silence. Eventually Ruya broke it. "I can't Sunil. I can't empty my mind at all. I just keep thinking about the bonsai." Sunil sighed and replied without opening her eyes. "I suppose you know your element?" "Memory," Ruya said quietly. "Or at least that's what my mom said." Sunil opened her eyes and looked at Ruya with an odd expression. "Then perhaps a spot with less history would be better." She made a dismisive motion. "Your job for today is to find a spot where you can empty your mind." Ruya stood and made her way out of the room, passing by a disgruntled Susu. A spot she could empty her mind? This might be a difficult task.

Quest!, prologue I finally have it. A real clue on how to prolong my life. (Can't truly be immortal according to Julius, but can be linked to the life of your bond.)
Julius did something behind that veil he wears and he told me about an immortal, who had a ton of children. With each child he had, he lost some power (note to self: Do not ever have children.) and eventually his children killed him, scattering his body. However, and this is key, his heart remained intact.
I have to find this heart in the aither (whatever that is) on the mountain of heaven and return with it to spread a piece on myself and my bond. Then I will live for as long as she does.
Admittedly I don't know exactly what I'm doing yet, but I've always been smart. I'll find out about this aither and then I will find the heart.
And then, then I shall seek further power and vengeance on any and all who have ever annoyed me.
The further power actually shouldn't be all that difficult. Kam informed me that she had bought me a gemstone from the shop. Quite a while ago actually, stupid b***h, but she forgot to tell me about it.
She left it in my closet with me when she left, telling me that it was the gemstone of a feien named Rei who had died. (She said something about maybe resurrecting him. Screw that. He had his chance at life.) The gem is a suitable color, a rich brown and is apparently a gravity element. Next time I go to the shop I'm looking up gravity spells if they're there. I want to know just how awesome I'm going to be when I finally merge with it in the future.~ Sunil

Lessons... Over? "Sunil? I think I finally found a good place to meditate." Ruya walked blithely into Sunil's closet, assuming the other feien had simply forgotten to come find her for their regular lessons. Sunil scowled up from her journal, snapping it shut with a look of extreme displeasure. "So?" Ruya just blinked, halting her forward progress and glancing at Susu who was smirking on the floor. "You asked me to? Aren't you teaching me magic?" "No. Lessons are on hold. I have more important things to do." Sunil smiled nastily, and looked purposefully at the door behind Ruya. Ruya just shook her head, confused and annoyed. "We had a deal." "And your half is no longer of use to me." Sunil lifted one arm from her lap and made a shooing motion at Ruya. Ruya put her hands on her hips and advanced on Sunil, earning a hiss from Susu. "You haven't fulfilled your half." She narrowed her eyes and lifted an eyebrow, looking down at Sunil to emphasize their new height difference. Sunil just shrugged with a smile that could have looked agenuinely apologetic on anyone but her. "Are you really so stupid you can't work with what I showed you?" Sunil laughed softly, condescendingly. "Magic and physical strength work on the same principles. Discipline and repeated practice. Do me a favor and find some other feien to babysit you if you can't be alone." Sunil stood, ignoring the height difference that secretly irked her, and walked past Ruya to the door. "I'm going somewhere else, but I expect that by the time I return you will have vacated my bedroom." Ruya just looked after Sunil with narrowed eyes and waited a couple minutes before leaving. What was Sunil up to?
