Roy listened to Sue explain what was on her mind before he listened to the girl's (Hatmon, she said) response. He then listened to the nomad speak again before he shook his head.
"War occurs when the beliefs of two different groups clash. It happened when we fought Bern and Zephiel, who wanted dragons to rule Elibe. It happened when our fathers fought Nergal, who wanted to bring dragons to Elibe. Both were threats to humanity. However...this new conflict...I don't know why we have to fight the Heroes. Weren't we peaceful when we had lunch with them? How did things end up this way? I can't help but feel that it's because of some misunderstanding, or that someone is forcing them to fight us. Someone that can summon morphs...like...Auntie Mika..."
He looked to the side.
"I guess...tying back to what you were talking about with truths...everyone is looking for their truths, their answers to how things should be. We fight to discover our truths and gain answers to that single burning question that drives us to combat. Why do we have to fight? What became of Rei, whom we haven't seen in a long time? Who is the mysterious force that brought back the Heroes, and why has that force pitted us against them? With this battle, may we find the truths."
Roy had no idea what he was saying anymore. He was rambling now. But he hoped he made some sense to Hatmon and Sue.

“I’ve learned that sacrifice is necessary and that death is also a part of life. Those people you shot made their choice knowing full well they might die and with the indent to kill you they set out. They had something to protect, and so do we.” Hatmon placed a single paw on the girl’s shoulder and did not avert her gaze to show that she spoke true to herself. In her time, Hatmon had killed many a person, sometimes it was with regret and with others no such feelings of guilt had graced her. Her life had been full of struggles, and rather than give up and let those people kill, she had dared to face them so that she might stand victorious and most importantly… alive at the end of the day.
“I cannot give you a reason to fight, lady nomad. You must find it on your own. Eyris might not belong to us, but our right to live there was denied. We at least deserve this right; we should earn it back. If taking it back feels right, denying this feeling would be fool-hearty. And as this man says,” Hatmon said gesturing with her other paw to the man who had just spoken. “If nothing else; fight for Rei. Fight to bring him home to the Eyris you remember.” Her hand then moved to gesture to Roy who had also spoken finally. "This one sees clearly. Do try to take to heart his words."
The chimera’s tail swished lazily, occasionally brushing against her legs. The swishing stopped though, when she realized a man with a strange hat had spoken in order to get the group’s attention. Her eyes narrowed at the mention of the name Loki; it was not a name with pleasant memories surrounding it. “Our time is growing short, lady nomad. Might I wish the best for you? I can only hope you can clear your mind of these thoughts and stand firm, for a wandering mind is no place for a battle field. May your arrows stay true to their path and your sword sharp; should you decide to fight.”
With nearly inhuman speed, Hatmon kissed Sue and the two men on the cheek before turning away from them. Before walking off, she glanced over her shoulder back at them. Her face displayed a small, kind smile. “For good luck,” she joked, as she stuck her tongue out before wandering off; her hips swaying teasingly as she left their company. Before the battle she had hopes of finding a certain lizard to check his condition. Though her search might prove to be fruitless, she would spend a few moments in search of him.

“If nothing else; fight for Rei. Fight to bring him home to the Eyris you remember.”
"Rei..." Sue shut her eyes, the moment that name was mentioned, her doubts had begun to get shot down just like the wyvern riders before her in the days of warring Bern. Rei was taken... and he was a friend of hers. The nomad had remembered the oath that all her tribe took... that no matter how bad the situation looked, they must always, before anything, save another tribesman from danger.
The Troopers of the Kutolah did all they could, and because of that, Sue was spared the claws and spears of Bern: as were Grandfather and Shin. They were alive somewhere, so was Rath, so was Rei.
As long as those dearest to her were alive... and as long as at least one of them... Rei for sure was in danger, it was Sue's duty, no... her choice in morals to save him not by the Law of Sacae, but of her own violation entirely. He was alive. He was waiting for her and the others...
The Nomad Trooper had no place to deny him the rescue he needed so badly. She instead nodded to Hatmon and General Roy... and even Ziaram as she listened to their words. These doubts were just wondering thoughts. They had no place in her mind... not now. Not when someone needed her. "You all... speak the truth. With my bow and my sword... I will find my own reason. .. I shouldn't doubt my own firm judgments I have made before. General Roy... I'll instead be honored by fighting at your side again. We'll rescue our comrade-in-arms, Rei, who did the same for us when we were in the heat of battle with Bern!"

Ganon was sitting apart from the others, now that he had been left to himself at last. He was emotionally drained, but full of energy, and as much as he wanted to curl up and sleep, it was impossible for him. It wasn't the excitement or the dread of what was to come, of course.
He was just hungry. His body wanted to hunt, but he couldn't bear it. He didn't even know if he remembered how. It had been so long since he'd truly hunted, really fought with his claws. He stretched out on the grass dejectedly, eye closed as he tried to bask and forget about the body's desire to eat. Three weeks was pushing his limit.
He failed to notice Hatmon at all, but Ganon himself? Rather hard to miss.

"Oy you. Lying there. Have some of this." pointing to ganon and pulled over a whole deer for him and placed on a leaf infront of him. "Eat well. Feel better." he said as he returned his rock.

Hmm. Amelia was okay for now. That was good. A lot of the others he didn't know. And that sage person was getting up there to proclaim himself as the apparent leader at the moment. That was a bit annoying. But Renault wasn't ready to go anywhere yet. He didn't feel exactly in control of himself, and he needed to find someone to speak to. And then, his eyes lit upon a familiar face, with a suit of armor to go along with it. The man's eyes brightened, and he moved in the direction of the paladin.
"Lady Isadora," he said softly, giving her a smile as he moved up next to her. "It's good to see you again. There seem to be... many unfamailiar faces around her lately. It makes me feel a little... out-of-place. It's good to see someone that I've known for a while." He glanced around, then relaxed a bit to speak to the woman. His voice still caught a bit, and his eyes were still that same bright gold, but the old Renault seemed to be coming back, slowly but surely. "And I have the feeling... that you'd like to see me as well, am I right?"

"Yes, Father Renault. I do." Isadora replied as she looked up to the Bishop. It had been ages since she lasted talk to someone about the confession of the sins and the guidance of St. Elimine. She felt that she needed one right now before the battle was about to begin.
But before she could tell Father Renault why she wished to see him, something caught her attention. His eyes..... They were not the same color as she last saw them. They were gold. The same color as the eyes of the morphs. When did that happen?
Although it seemed like this was the same Bishop that she had known before, somehow seeing with his new eyes made her feel different. It was as if Father Renault was a stranger to her now. Familiar, but also unfamiliar too.
"Father Renault.... Your eyes..." Isadora spoke unsure. Somehow, it seemed that the paladin was at the lost of words.

Octavio raised his voice a little for his next announcement. "Alright. Those of you whom are coming with me, please let's begin our march." He directed his next words at Lt. John. "Let's begin, yes?"
He began walking.

"My eyes are... well." Renault paused for a moment, shaking his head a little. "I know that it's a little... strange, but.... I've been forced to make my body this way in order to preserve my life. It is only temporary..." He looked at the woman softly, eyes asking her not to reject him either. "I promise you that... I am still the same person you have known, Isadora."
His hands came out and clasped over one of Isadora's; partly to affirm himself to her, but part to hold himself up. He needed something to steady himself... he still didn't feel exactly normal. "Please, Isadora. At this moment, I need someone to speak to as well, so that I begin to get my bearings back. I'm not quite... myself, yet."
People were beginning to move. That meant the battle was nearing them... The two of them should move too. Not releasing Isadora's hand, Renault turned, moving in that direction, though staying far enough away that none could hear them speak. "We should keep up with them while we speak... we'll likely be needed for the battle..."

Steely Dan fell into step behind Octavio, now that he properly knew the score, and Chickenwire started up after him, leading the group of Watchmen and civilians who had volunteered to join them. Perhaps there would be medals for the survivors. And flowers for the non-survivors.
It was a bit unreal. He'd always been either a Watchman or a Guard, never really part of an army. Dan couldn't help feeling a bit proud as he hefted up his greatsword. With luck, he'd get to show these amateurs how it really worked.

The paladin was stunned from what she was hearing. Father Renault.... was forced to create this body? To preserve his life? Was he........ Was he going to die? She didn't understand what was going on or what sort of magic was it.
But why?...... Why was he doing this?
Before she could confront him, she felt her hands being clasped by the Bishop. She stiffened a little bit. What was she going to do? Isadora listened to Father Renault for a moment, hearing that he needed someone to support him. The paladin bit her inner lips.
Wasn't she the one who need support and guidance, not the only way around? What would St. Elimine do if she was in her shoes?
Before she could say anything, she heard movements. Isadora looked around to see that people were leaving. It seemed the battle was coming. She felt her hand being tugged forward, heading in the same direction where the group were going, but not near the group. Not wanting to far behind, Isadora whistled sharply. Her horse heard her calling and went toward her. Isadora grabbed the rein as she turned to Father Renault.
"Father Renault," Isadora finally spoke, going in the same pace as the Bishop. She lowered her voice down, away from the people's ears but to Father Renault. "Tell me...... Are you dying?"

Lucius sighed, battle worn and tired. He had followed Octavio through the attack and even gained a Light Tome. He was lucky to have been able to defend himself.
He sat down, trying to rest up for what was to come. It wouldn't be long before another battle was started. He was getting too old for this.

Ah...just like old times, hunh?...
After bidding Lance, Alihi, and all others who were remaining behind a sincere goodbye, Aidan gathered up the last of his supplies. A few elixirs, a spear, another lance (a killer lance, maybe? the design was different from the ones in Elibe)...whatever he could carry he took along, and what he couldn't he shoved into the deep, bottomless pit that was his messenger bag.
It was times like these that he LOVED hammerspace.
The tactician quickly jogged past the others, reaching the small archsage at the front of the group.
"Hey!" The young man beamed and waved at him. "Y'know, I've never actually spoken to you, but I guess we should probably get to know each other..." He chuckled in spite of the serious circumstances. "I'm Aidan. Since Alihi isn't here, I'll be your tactician. That okay?"

John stepped back for a sec and fell in rhythm with Dan's footsteps to introduce himself. "Hi Im Lt.John nice to meet you." he said as he extended his hand and smiled politely.
