Kara couldn't deny the logic of that, but she didn't want him to get hurt, either. He was one of the only people among the heroes who was still treating her like a person instead of a monster.

There was a long pause. "Thank you," she said quietly. It was quite obvious that she meant it.

"... Agreed, I guess," she sighed, "... Was there anything else?"

"Overrated," Kara said dully, "Try not to kill anyone I like." The connection terminated.

After much self-deliberation, Lex decided that he needed someone who could be used for information, like his imposter had used Calculator in the Society scheme he hatched. Luthor, the REAL Luthor, knew all about it, though, so he was able to pretend he was that same man, able to convince even Deathstroke that it had been he who had helped found the Society. However, this line of thought was a digression. Calculator had been immensely useful to the Society due to his uncanny ability to figure the odds of success of any given plan, even going as far as to factor in personality traits of peope involved. However, for this, Lex wanted someone who could perform close to the same function in the field, something Calculator didn't do. Lex needed a robot of some sort, one that could store all the data nessecary, and be capable of holding its own in combat, where it would inevitably end up. Also, Lex wanted someone who could be used for range. Deadshot had been a perfect candidate for the role when he established his original Six, especially considering Deadshot had an intimate knowledge of all the remaining Suicide Squad members. he needed someone like that now, as well, but once again, from another Universe; between himself, Joker, and Deathstroke, he had all the information he'd ever need on just about everyone from his Universe, good or evil. But who? Deciding these things, Lex narrowed his search.

[enter the Joker and Robin from Underground Hideout]

"Oh, LEXIE!" the Joker called as he walked into the control room, dragging Robin along with him. Hope and Mercy had been very helpful in directing him where to go to find him. "We got ourselves a little songbird!"

Lex turned to look, and replied, "Deathstroke didn't want you to kill her, did he?"

Joker's expression was that of confusion. "What makes you say that?"

"Simple. That's a Robin. You kill Gotham heroes. If you'd have had your way, she'd be dead right now."

"Touche..."

Robin had decided the pathetic girl approach was probably her best bet at this point. It would make them underestimate her some, and would allow her to get the information she was looking for the easiest way possible, by just surviving. She wanted to make a mean comment like only male songbirds sing. But that wouldn't help her acting. She used her amusment at the situation to her advantage as she used it to bring up tears. She had put herself in danger again to prove to a batman, protect a batman from getting hurt. Why did she so much want his approval...she let her mind wonder on these thoughts a bit as she tried to pick up on any details of the trip and the room. She hoped her trail of broken glass would be enough to help someone find her. Maybe she wanted his approval because he was the closest thing she had to a father...because she very much wanted him to approve of her and Tim. She very much wanted...well for him to make her part of the family. All she had growing up was her mom and then she used boyfriend after boyfriend to fill the gaps of not having a father. But here was a family of misfits parts that didn't fit anywhere else. Mashed together to make this protective, supportive bond that she very much wanted. It was love, and the best kind of love, but she hadn't earned her unconditional love...hers had conditions. She had to listen to every word and not think for herself, not do things her way. This was apparently still to hard for her now, all though new bat didn't give her orders, he didn't even seem to want to know where she came from. She let her teeth grit as she had tears roll down her face.

"Now, Slade, we go get the next member of our group," Lex replied.

"Another member? Between you, me, Deathstroke, AND my magical girlfriend, you don't think we have enough power?" the Joker asked in surprise.

"We have power, but not knowledge. I have reason to believe that our next target is not human, but robotic. I also have reason to believe that he's a hero-type. I believe we should take him, and allow myself to reprogram him to our purpose. He'd make an excellent addition to our group, should this succeed."

The Joker regarded Lex with overwhelming disillusionment. "Ah. You want a robot. And here I thought you were constructing a villain group. What is it with you and technology?"

"Brainiac is a villain."

"So was Anarky. Look at what happened to HIM! Editors COMPLETELY bastardized him!"

Lex looked at Joker inconfusion for a brief moment, then turned to Deathstroke, apparently ignoring Joker's moment of seemingly-greater-than-usual insanity. "Would you mind going and getting him?"
