"Heh...Don't worry...Nothing bad will happen to you...I promise..." With that, I clasped tightly onto the wall; grabbing my spear and placing it into my holster. Then, with a fiery grasp, I began to scale the wall with a faster pace.
Five hundred meters...
Four hundred meters...
Three hundred meters...
Suddenly, I stopped dead in my tracks. My eyes became glazed and hollowed. My breathing instantly siezed.
"Sh*t...! I...! I can't move...! I...have no other choice..." Agonizingly, I tilted my head to one side and weakly whispered, "Runa...pull out...the blue gem...from my satchel...Hold it tightly...Alright...?"

I held it tightly and put my right arm around him again. "I...I have it...", I said clinging to him and the gem tightly.

"Go-od..." As soon as I was aware she possessed the gem, I suddenly ignited my body in a fiery blaze.
From head to toe, my body was like a human torch. However, since Runa was holding the gem, her body stayed unmarked. She was protected by a fire-negate gem.
"Now then...to get up there..." Furiously, I began to scale the wall; smashing the rocky wall with my feet and claws. Clouds of dust formed throughout the air. "Almost...! There...!"
Two hundred meters.
One hundred meters.
Fifty meters.
Just as I was about to come upon the ledge, the fires from within instantly extinguished. Right at that same momemnt, I grapped hold of a rock jutting far out from the ledge.
Hanging there, I held freely within the air by one arm. All my strength and stamina was completely sapped.
"F**k..." I muttered in misery. I then looked upward. "...Ru-na...Get...Get going...Climb the rest...of the way...I'll...I'll be fine..."

I looked at him crying and shouted at him, "I will not leave you here". Hastily I reached into my bag and pulled out a rope, I tied one end around his waste and the other around me. I made sure that the knots were good and would not come out and then slowly climbed off his back. "I will drag you the rest of the way, I will not leave you here". I said as I carefully began to place one hand over the other. Sweat dripped down my face as I pushed myself up the cliff.

Limply, I hung from the ropes; watching her struggle to pull my weight up the cliff.
In complete silence, I grasped the end of my rope and looked up at her with hollowed eyes.
"Runa..." I took a deep breath, holding back tears. "...I love you..."
Then, with the twist of the wrist, I broke the rope, sending me lifelessly plumitting towards the ground.

"Runa..." I took a deep breath, holding back tears. "...I love you..." Then, with the twist of the wrist, I broke the rope, sending me lifelessly plumitting towards the ground. "NOOOOOO", I screamed loudly and started to scramble down the cliff after him, falling at points. My hands were sore but I continued down. I screamed loudly at him, "Wake up! Kang, wake up! You must, I can't loose you! I need you"!

As her sorrow-filled voice echoed throughout my ears, I could not hear her. Though conscious, I was numb. Though awake, I was alseep. Though alive, I was already dead.
1500 meters...
1200 meters...
1000 meters...
Faster and faster, my speed picked up as I crashed towards the ground.
700 meters...
400 meters...
100 meters...
Fifty meters.
Suddenly, my eyes opened widely; glowing a crimson red. My entire body was swallowed whole by swirling, dark flames from my soul; rising me right before striking the earth.
Propelling myself with the Hellfires of my body, I then shot the flames from my hands, levitating me through the air at unbelievable speeds. As I came closer and closer towards Runa, I quickly and tightly grasped her by the wrist; shooting both of us up the cliff.
When we flashed passed the cliff, we continued to scale higher and higher. Eventually, I came swooping down back towards the cliff edge; letting her down upon the higher ground. Slowly, I stepped onto the earth; my face and all engulfed with flames. All that could be visible were my eyes; a bloody red glow.
Then, as quickly as the flames came, they vanished; leaving me to fall limp towards the ground. As I laid upon the cold earth, I breathed heavily, yet weakly. All I could do was barely keep myself alive.

I couldn't believe what had just happened. "KANG", I cried and knelt at his side. "Please don't leave me.....I love you too", I said sobbing. I touched his forhead with my hand, he was so hot. I slowly and carefully put him over my shoulder. "H...hang on..k...Kang", I said and walked as fast I could towards the sound of rushing water I could hear. I sweated and where he touched me my skin burned.
I made it through the opening and could see the lake and waterfalls....it was beautiful and I cried seeing it. I layed him down gently and got a piece of cloth out of my bag and a cup and went to get water out of the lake. I came back to his side and held the cloth to his forehead. "Please don't leave me", I said as my body shook and I cried.

"...Y-Your...hurt..." I gazed upon her wrist. It was red; burnt by my touch. "...I'm...sorry..." Slowly, I raised my hand towards her cheek; gently hovering it over her face as to not to touch it. "I...I can't even hold you anymore...without hurting...you..."
Instantly, my hand dropped to my side. Tears began to roll down my cheeks, but all quickly evaporated. Crying was no longer even possible for me.
"I'm...sorry..."

(((Okay, bye))) I started to cry as I grabbed his hand with mine. It hurt and burnt but I didn't let go as I let my body fall and I rested my head on his chest. "I don't care about the burns, I just want to be in your arms", I said crying. I got up and took the cup of water and began dumping it on him. It evaporated and I went and got more. I stumbled back and forth many times from the lake to him. On the last run I collasped at the edge of the lake I was so tired and the burns hurt but not as bad as my heart did. I looked at the water, my face and shoulder was burnt, both hands and my wrist. I filled my cup and stood up and walked back to him and kneeled at his side and dumped it on him. "Kang......how d..do you feel....now", I asked smiling down at him. "D....Do you need more water", I asked.

Shadow_of_Shadows "P-Please...Move me...into the water..." My voice weak; my eyes empty. A cold feeling all over began to fill my body, yet my temperature still increased rapidly. Soon, I began to succumb to the extreme heat from within. "Water...Water..." I started crying as I grabbed his hands in mine, and I closed my eyes as my hands began to burn and sizzle. I pulled him into the water. I kept him where it was shallow and held his head in my hands, above the water, as steam rose into the air. I sat besides him in the water, too tired to stand. I wanted to cry this was not the vacation that I had planned. I....wanted to have fun....and relax....maybe that was a dream maybe there is nothing but war in this world.....I looked down at Kang and smiled. Though my smile disappeared and tears came in their stead. Maybe there isn't peace but there is love. "I'm sorry for bringing you here", I whispered cradling his head with my hands.

My body temperature began to reduce greatly as humidity began to fill the air. The forest soon began to feel like a jungle. I shamefully turned my head away; looking distantly.
"...This...is my fault...My leg wound...It was not entirely healed..." I looked through the water; my leg resting upon the shallow bottom of the lake. "...It got...infected...Infected with some sort of...strange disease...I can't explain it, but...Something dark...I'm sorry..."
Slowly, I looked back into Runa's tearful eyes. My eyes were also saddened and showed my inner depression.
"...Runa..." Gently I placed my hand upon her cheek--this time, without harming her. "...I...I shouldn't have come with you...All I have done is caused you misery...I'm sorry..."

"Heh...I feel...so helpless..." I looked away, yet was still in content. "...I don't...like being...a burden upon you...Or anyone...for that matter..."
Agonizingly, I raised myself slightly from the waters; sitting upward. I then wrapped my arms around her; pressing us together.
"...I promised...that harm...would never come...to you...I've failed..."
