Karoku stepped up to Enya and wrapped his arms around her for a moment. "I'm sorry, again, but that's how he is. He cares, I know he does, but he has no right calling you a tool for his own needs." His embrace tightened a bit more before he let go. "Forgive me..." He bowed before her, apologizing for hugging her without permission then looked up. He was ready to walk away, afraid of her reaction, but he would wain regardless. He smiled at her and prepared for an angered reaction to what he'd done.

The room which Malcholar stepped into wasn't anything fancy, but still much better than any room he could have bought while he waited for her to prepare. The room which they stepped into was the living room. It was plain, but neat. Well kept but rarely used.

There was a wooden table in the exact center of the room, with a plain, three-seat brown couch on one side of it. Directly opposite of that was a recliner. The floor was covered in a cheap gray carpet, but it was much better than hard wooden flooring. He noticed from the doorway, which was almost directly behind the recliner, that the table was covered with a fine layer of dust.

The walls were painted a plain white, but they had no stains or cracks on them. In other words it was an utterly unremarkable room. From where he was standing he saw two other doorways leading out of the room. One led to a kitchen, the other was closed.

"Better then a hotel room, worse then a suite. Neither are my style so this will do just fine."

"Yes, by the looks of it this place will be just fine."

The room had no entertainment that he could see, but that wasn't important. He could tell by this room that the rest of the house would be in similar condition.

"Thank you once more for inviting us to your home miss Rhia."

He looked over to her and flashed one of his polite smiles. While stepping out of the doorway and gesturing for her to enter. At this he saw his companion roll his eyes and seat himself into the recliner. Apparently already at home. Kaledan was going to argue with him over his mannerism, but decided to let it pass.

She smiled in return with a small nod and walked into the room. She was unused to such courtesty but didn't by any means mind it, and she knew that convincing Kaledan to act any other way would require more effort than she felt like expending.

Rhia, for the first time since returning to Muirmor, noticed the dust that had gathered in the house. She went into the kitchen, grabbing a rag and turning on the sink simultaneously. Feeling as though she should explain the minimalism of her furnishing as well as the dust, she turned off the sink and went back in the living room.

"I've been traveling in Hikamitsu for a while, I've rarely even stayed in this house, except between trips," she stated, the damp rag in her hand. Remembering what she had meant to do, she walked over to the table and wiped it down quickly, and added, "Feel free to look around, but there isn't much to see."

Her bedroom was down a hallway near the back of the house, and was the only room that appeared to have been used. Her numerous journals and books were scattered on a large desk in the corner, and after putting the rag away she tossed her backpack next to her bed.

Flustered, Enya struggled for a moment with a reply, and in the end she only looked down and blushed silently to herself for a minute. "It-it's alright..." She replied in a soft murmur; swallowing hard, Enya stepped towards Karoku. 'Seems like I've come to this point anway...' She thought to herself, not the least bit happy about it; she was a secretive person by nature, and she didn't like expressing herself. She shifted her weight onto the tips of her toes and leaned forward, kissing Karoku on the cheek before she stepped back, her cheeks a much brighter shade of red. "I like you Karoku, a lot actually... but right now..." She shook her head from side to side as if to clear it. "Fenrir's very important to me, and I don't want to hurt him..." She explained, looking up at him with wide, slightly scared and injured eyes.

Karoku's eyes widened and his ears perked up a bit as he felt her lips against his cheek. He continued to smile though, even after her last few words. It hurt him a bit, of course it did. He actually liked Enya. Fenrir had beat him though. He chuckled and stepped forward. He placed a hand under her chin and kissed her forehead before turning around and beginning to walk away. "I'll be back later." He turned his head back, flashing her a toothy smile, his eyes closed from how wide it was. With that, he stuck his hands in his pockets and walked away, disappearing from vision soon as the rain intensified. His ki, remained over her head though, keeping her dry. When she returned to the cave, the ki would slowly dissipate.

"This may be a bit plain, but comfortable all the same."

Malcholar said while stretching in the recliner. His shotgun was propped against the table, and his shortsword was resting across his lap. He gazed at it for a minute or so before reaching into his coat. From one of the many inner pocket he pulled out a small book. The binding was leather, and the book looked about ready to fall apart. Though he flipped through it casually, even an untrained eye could tell that he was handling it with great care.

"Just as I thought, I can't read this one either." He said with a sigh, and put it back into his coat."

"You what? We risked our necks, outnumbered six to one in order to get that book of yours and you can't read it?! Unbelievable!"

"This book might be over a thousand years old, you didn't expect it to be written in any modern day language did you?"

"How do you know that it's not in a modern day language?"

"Because I've studied them all."

This much is true. Malcholar was adept at every spoken language used today. He had sent nearly two years of his life total purely on language study. If he couldn't read the book, then he doubted anyone around today could.

"I'll just have to translate it, eventually. I still have a dozen others to translate. This newest one isn't too high on my list of priorities."

Kaledan didn't bother to argue and just sighed in frustration. His own sword was laying across his lap. He was sitting on the center of the couch, staring at the drawn blade of the saber. He had killed seven people not half a day ago to get a book that couldn't be read, and no information regarding the pirates he sought. To him it was an utter failure of a mission.

The emerald dust covering the blade sent shards of green light across the room, but it didn't seem to bother Malcholar, who sat reading quietly.

"This is a captain's sword. A sword so beautiful and fine that we do not have the honor to wield it in battle. Thus when you carry it you shall carry a burden of honor so great that lesser men would crumble. We desecrate it's beauty when we harm another with it. However we must use it to harm because that is it's purpose. The sword carries the same burden that you do. The burden of being human, of having to do things that it never wants to. I pass this burden on to you son, hopefully when you have grown into a man you will have honor enough within you to wield this sword."

That is when the sword passed from his father to him. The words had confused him at first, but over the years came acceptance and understanding. Only on the day of his ascension to manhood did he learn the swords true name.

Aie-Du, Lordly-Wind.

Enya stood there for a little while, smiling silently to herself, making an attempt at a completely normal face. 'It's strange... but I actually want to cry...' She thought to herself, and all at once she was glad she had run out into the rain; Fenrir didn't have to know she was dry, didn't have to know that she was crying a bit. She frowned at that thought, 'Fenrir. I love you, but I hate you.' She thought at him, and with a sigh she turned and headed back. "I just turned down a guy who might actually like me, that I actually like, because I don't want to hurt the feelings of one who thinks of me as a tool? I think the gods are laughing right now..." She sighed to herself, shaking her head sadly; even she was laughing.

Karoku began to run, moving at speeds humans would find difficult to see anything but a blur, and leaped into a tree. He was atleast going to get a workout, hopefully losing some of the grief he felt. Each time he leapt to another tree limb, landing and jumping again with grace. He gasped as his foot suddenly slipped on one branch, sending him to the ground many yards below. He bounced as he hit the soft earth and grunted slightly as the air was knocked from his lungs. He gasped for air, holding his ribs as he tried to gather his breath again. When he could finally move again, he stood up and stared off in the opposite direction of the cave. Thoughts of running sped through his mind, only to get thrown away as he shook his head. He had ran too many times before, all ending with the same results; his pack finding him. It wouldn't do any good either. He would still have the Crystal Goddess nipping at his heels. He sighed and turned back in the direction the cave was. He disappeared from sight as he quickly sped off towards the shelter.

As Enya reentered the cave Fenrir perked up, getting up from his position near the fire to go over to her, carrying one of his spare shirts with him. "You are one damn lucky wolf." Enya mumbled at him as he came near, causing him to actually stop and look at her for a moment. "What happened?" He asked her, actually sounding concerned. Blinking, Enya lifted her head and frowned at him, looking a little confused. "Wha? Oh... Karoku said he would be back soon..." She gave him another odd look, then took the offered shirt from him. "You alright?" He asked as she walked away from him, looking dazed and as if she wasn't entirely there. "It's... getting louder, is all..." She murmured, pulling her wet clothes over her head and slipping the shirt on; it engulfed her, but it was dry.

Karoku stepped back into the cave, soaking wet. He was breathing heavily, due to the running. He sighed a bit as he saw Enya and Fenrir, then sat down where he had been before, closed his eyes, and soon forced himself to fall asleep. He didn't want to hear their conversation or be involved in it. He leaned his head back against the rocks as he fell asleep, glad to have a moment to finally rest.

After sparing Karoku a brief glance, Fenrir turned back to Enya and frowned. "That sound only you and Anya can hear?" He asked, and the frown only got deeper when Enya nodded. "Well, that's just craptastic..." He muttered to himself. "Lets see... that means that somethings coming closer that's been possessed... Or..." He turned to her and crouched down, leaning in close to eye her, but after a moment he turned away. "No, that's impossiable. Human's can't get possessed." With a slight groan, Enya fell over sideways on her sleeping bag, and by the time a shocked Fenrir turned around she was already asleep.

As Karoku slept, he could see the Crystal Goddess, hear her whispering into his ear. He began to shiver outside and break out in cold sweat, his ears slicking back as well. He muttered something under his breath as he began to turn. Fur began to sprout up on his body as his teeth became sharper. He was slowly entering his wolf form and unknowing as well.

"NO!" Fenrir yelled loudly at his brother upon seeing him changing into wolf form, and he moved rapidly across the room. "Karoku, wake up!" He called as he shoved at the slightly smaller Maolna in an effort to wake him up before something went wrong. "The last thing I need is to have to chase you all over Talard trying to hold you still long enough for Enya to bring you back!"
