Pietro looked over his shoulder, only to watch Sasha fall en route to the doorway. His jaw dropped as she fell on her stomach, and began to clutch her belly in pain. For a single, base instant, he wondered how she'd managed to look thin earlier in the day, but seemed to be showing now. An instant later, that no longer mattered, and in a strange moment of humility ran over there to try to help her up.

"Hey come on, let me hel-" was all he was able to muster before Sasha slugged him in the face. And it wasn't a simple punch either. It sent Pietro flying back. It hurt badly, especially for someone who was not at all used to people being able to hit him. Still though, he wasn't mad, nor was he wallowing in self-pity. In fact, he wasn't exactly sure how he was feeling at the moment.

He stumbled painfully as he rose to his feet. He looked into Sasha's eyes with an odd aura of determination, and walked back to her yet again. "Hate me all you want but at least let me get you some help before you kill me."

Where the hell did that come from? he thought, as he awaited her response. Inwardly, his pride was aching.

I swear to god I will destroy you if y ou turn yourself into some stupid after-school special, coward echoed a darker voice in the back of Pietro's mind. In a way, it sounded like him... in another, he could swear it was the words of his father...

Pietro reached underneath one of Sasha's arms, flinching a bit as he expected more of the same... but it appeared that Sasha was following her friend's advice. He wasn't sure why she was calling him "Pete" as if she knew him or something, but he always tended to attract people to give him s**t. Even when he didn't deserve it. Not that this was one of those times or anything but still...

"Come on and... you know... be careful..." he murmured. There was still enough pride in his soul to keep him from sounding like he cared too much.

Like a cat stalking its prey, he watched the group outside. A flash from thoes golden eyes. He moved slightly, perched in a tree. He tried to move to a better vantage point, one foot sliding a bit too close to the end of the branch...

SNAP-CRACK! came a loud noise from the tree as the end of the branch snapped off, sending him off balance. Even his tail couldent help him regain his footing, so he fell to the ground along with the broken branch, landing with a dull thudd. "UUOF!!" He yelled, landing flat on his back, "OWW! DAMNIT SONUVA--!!!" He yelled even louder.

"Ah, come off it, Gen. Look at where we are! When is there not something going on around here?" Teagan asked, half joking as they walked down the corridor. She walked slowly, raising a brow as they drew closer to the Infirmary.

"Wonder if that's what all the commotion was about.." Teagan murmured, seeing some students gathered around the door, peeking in through the small window.

"Should we check it out? Clearly something big must have went down if all them are gawking like crazed peeping Toms." Teagan laughed, looking over at Gen for a reaction.

Despite things constantly changing, being back at the Insitute felt familiar and it felt the same. This place was actually home for a change. He was done chasing clouds of smoke... it was all smoke and mirrors. He left his world where he was comfortable for what? For nothing. Left Regina worried and probably heart broken. They had barely spoken in months. That was his fault, and he knew it.

After leaving the garage and his car, he made an important stop, the most important stop. Before checking in with the headmaster, before his office, he went to Regina's room and left her a note.

Jade was pinned in. She had to get out of this... had to regroup. Her faded green essence faded down through the floorboards as her being wasn't really solid to begin with. She ended up back in the subbasement in front of Penance's cage again looking worn out.

"Give up yet?" Penance smirked.

Jade put her hand around Penance's throat and pinned her into the bars, "I will kill you before I let them destroy me... and it appears that may be my option. And if you die... I get this body. So maybe, I'm going to stop being nice to you."

Penance gagged a bit as her neck was grabbed so quickly, "Jade, if you could kill me, you would have done it a long time ago."

"Do you want to test that out?"

Penance didn't answer. She knew it wouldnt' be long now.

Morgan sailed right through the greenish mist left behind by Jade, as she sank through the floorboards. "Dammit," he cursed, twisting his body in the air to avoid crashing headfirst into the wall. After getting to his feet, he looked back at the door that Penance had apparently created.

"She knows she can't win here. She's probably headed back to where ever she's holding Penance's mind. Regina, you can get pretty much anywhere in here using your powers. I'll take the elevator, Regina, can you have everyone meet me down there?" Morgan said, turning, and stepping into the illuminated shaft. The door slid shut behind him, and was gone.
