Serenity smiled warmly. "For as many worlds as there are," she murmured, giving his hand one final squeeze, "they all have many similarities."
Then she let go of his hand so that he could eat more easily, and focused her attention on her own food.

He nods and he smiles softly, himself and Prince eating their portions. When all was said and done, Gaunt relaxes at the table while Prince leans back on his seat and rubs his belly. He hadn't eaten like that.. ever.

Ian had fallen asleep on the table almost as soon as he had finished eating, and Serenity let him rest - it had been an overly long day for him, what with the time difference, and he was after all still very small and very young.
She on the other hand, rose to her feet to help clear the table.
"It was delicious," she smiled at Haradhel as she began to gather plates. "Thank you very much."

He smiles softly and he nods, rising when he saw Serenity start to clear the table and starts to help her out. "Yes, thank you very much for dinner. It was wonderful." He flashed the two older elves a smile, and follows Serenity into the kitchen.

Serenity smiled warmly at Gaunt as she set the dishes on the counter next to an empty basin, then brushed her hands together to get rid of crumbs.
"Thanks," she said softly, her eyes sparkling in the semi-darkness. The sun had long since gone down, and the only light was now from the fireplace on the other side of the room. "You didn't have to help, you know ... you weren't expected to."

He shrugs and he smiles, as he peers around him and into the darkness outsdie, if there was a window available, to try to find a water source. "Mmn. Can't I help because I want to?" He smiles warmly over to her.

Serenity giggled. "You could," she agreed, reaching for his hand. Her eyes sparkled in the darkness. "What say we put the boys to bed and go for a walk?" she suggested. "The stars are beautiful here, so much brighter than anywhere back home ..."
It would be their first real time alone - as alone as they could be on a ranch filled with eyes and ears.

He nods and he smiles softly, letting the dishes stay where they rested as he gently squeezed her hand again. "That sounds like a wonderful idea, my dear." He smiles and walks out with her, hoisting a drowsey Prince up in an arm. "Alright, big guy. Say nite."
"Gnite.." Muttered Prince, full and content, and rather tired.

Serenity followed Gaunt out to the dining room and smiled at Haradhel (the men had disappeared already). "Would it be all right with you if we put the boys to bed right away?" she asked politely.
Haradhel nodded, smiling brightly. "I heard you two, you go ahead. Just don't go into the trees, because the last thing I need is to explain to your mother how I lost you. I'll finish here."
Serenity giggled. "Thank you." She lifted Ian in her arms and moved to follow after Gaunt. Ian was far too gone to say anything, so she didn't even bother trying. Gaunt's hands were full with Prince, so she didn't bother trying to take his hand either. She simply moved to walk beside him and murmured, "Follow me."

He smiles and he nods slowly as he did just that. He follows Serenity, as he shifts Prince to lay more evenly against him so one arn didn't have to handle the whole load. "Mmn. So it's pretty easy to get lost in the trees, huh?" He glances toward Serenity.

Serenity nodded and kept her voice very low as she replied, "Very easy ... especially at night. I only go through the woods without a guide when I'm heading to or from the portal ... other than that I don't trust myself not to get lost."
When they reached the third floor, she led them down a corridor to a room with two beds in it. "Here," she murmured, "they can sleep here."
She put Ian on the pillow of the closer bed, then pulled the blanket up to cover all but his face. Then she leaned over to kiss him softly in the middle of his forehead and murmured a soft, "Good night, my little one."

He nods and he does the same to Prince, laying him in the other bed. At least, that's what he thought that was Serenity had in mind. He smiles as he mummurs a good night to Prince as he tucks him in, then walks toward the exit. "Mmn. I see. So we'll keep the walk to the grounds proper, then?"

Serenity nodded and reached for Gaunt's hand as she led him towards the stairs again.
"That doesn't mean we have to stay close to the buildings," she added with a smile. "Behind the stables, the paddock goes out quite far ... it's not to the trees, but it's far from eyes and ears. About as private as we can get on a ranch full of elves."

He nods and he smiles softly, his fingers gently caressing hers as they held hands. He walked down the stairs with her and let her lead on, since she was far, far more familiar with this place than he was. "Mmn. Then it sounds like the Paddock is the ultimate destination, isn't it?" He grins at her, a mischievous sparkle in his eye.

Serenity giggled, blushing faintly in the darkness. "Beyond it," she corrected him with a smile. "Otherwise we'll have the horses to contend with. They're a bit skittish at night, and I don't fancy the idea of being trampled on."
She paused at the door for them to slip their shoes on again, then led him out into the star-filled night. "This way," she murmured, heading to the left.
