Meredith was startled to find that they were up higher than before. Even more surprising was the revelation that it was not something Leonardo had done on purpose. "That means you could learn it. To fly, actually fly. That must be exciting." Meredith smiled, then joined Leonardo in watching the scurrying ants they knew to be people. Fun time was over; there was still the small matter of that mission they were assigned to. Meredith tried to think about the mission without thinking of how inadequate he felt as they floated to the ground. He smiled nervously at Leonardo who was surprisingly about as shy as he was, apparently.

"Yes, I think it does mean that." He replies with a false show of confidence. He didn't kiss boys. Or girls, for that matter. Meredith almost might as well not have hormones for as much as he'd acted upon them in the past. In truth, he'd only thought of Leonardo as a friend before now. Well, that was not entirely true; being pinned against the tree was not the first time he'd been very confusedly aware of Leonardo's closeness. He'd just always managed to brush it off and forget about it before. "Granted, with all the excitement of imagining my own death from a great height, my hormones were no doubt in a heightened, frenzied state. I don't know if I'd ever have had the nerve to kiss you otherwise." Meredith admits, his eyes shying away from Leonardo's face.

"But I know I wouldn't have done it at all if it had never been on my mind to." this admission is a bit quieter, though he's certain Leonardo can hear it. He can actually feel his face turn red with embarrassment. "That's good enough reason, isn't it? To be someone's boyfriend?" Their transportation had arrived. He would have his awkward 'first love' encounter at such an inconvenient time, of course.

(( well the transport to the airfield is waiting for everyone to board, then a routine trip to the airfiled and a normal flight across the pond and into germany or whatever... as soon as everyone loads up... unless most agree to just do a narrative time skip to germany... something like a few seconds of the batman swirl and bamf, everyone is in germany. ))

The trip to germany had been uneventful, and the offloading from the plane to the helicopters was as well, since they were treating this as a hot LZ they would quickly off load from the helicopters to a nearby field from the site and then secure it and set up the base, which would be dropped five minutes after they would land. IT would be good practice for them if nothing went wrong, and if something did, they would be ready for it.

Draqx just smiled at the first comment and replied.

'Good hustle, nice quick judgement and reactions there... that should prove you in good stead, now lets see how you react at the LZ...'

Later when they were approaching the LZ Draqx heard the question as to weather this was the place and nodded, then activating the clear hemlet bubble that was part of the skin suit he wore beneath his cloths powered up the systems that would help keep track of everyone and streached his legs a bit.

'This is it, keep your head down as you exit the chooper and set up a perimeter before the base lands. This is my stop, see you on the ground... and try and keep up... alley oop.'

Draqx purposefully said this in a freindly challenge way and stepped out of the helicopter while it was still a few meters up and took the landing with his legs and with a rool, the white of his labcoat and the shape of his backpack tumbling as he did and using the momentum of the roll Draqx popped back up, heeding hunched over and zig zagging, the practice of years of mission coming back smoothly as a smile grew on his face.

It felt good to know he could still do stuff like that, if maybe he might feel a bit sore the next day, it would do the students good to have a bit of a fire lit under then, because of a reasearcher could get moving that fast then they should be able to keep up. Draqx just hoped that none of them would be rash enough to pull off something they could not pull off, as Draqx relied heavily on the skinsuits systems to assist his landing by absorbing some of the shock, but that was because he could control the systems directly with his powers.

(( good reactions and fast thinking though. Even if you could have played it several different ways, as time warps like that are very fluid to get the plot moving, but it gives interesting situations to play off of between people like that. ))

(((Okay I'm confused. Was everyone on the helicopter? Or was there a sperate plane, if so, who was on what, and also, are we all off, and if so, where?)))

Meredith was a bit winded after being tossed into the helicopter, but he was determined not to complain. This was his first mission and he hadn't even gotten to Germany yet; complaining already could not possibly reflect well on him. Leonardo immediate began railing at Mr. Smith for the timing of the helicopter's departure and Meredith could only stare wide eyed. Leonardo was a strange one to be sure. He'd gone from stammering and shy to blazing hot mad in the time it took to leap to the helicopter. And then just as quickly, he was leading Meredith away, holding him close and asking if he was alright. Meredith smiled brightly. "Nothing hurt but my pride. I am fine." Leonardo soon fell asleep. Meredith remained awake a bit longer, nervous still about what was to come, but he too fell asleep before they arrived.

Meredith woke to hear Mr. Smith giving some last instructions before leaping to the ground. Meredith would wait until the helicopter landed, which did not take too much longer. Leonardo was already awake and lead Meredith off of the helicopter, still hand in hand. "I should catch up with Mr. Smith. He will have work for me to do."
