Proudly_Jewish Eccentric Iconoclast OH YES. In my brand-new spiffy shiny huge wonderful awesome giant French-English dictionary (The best one on the market! heart ), it says how to say the concept of 'off the wall'. To be off the wall = etre dingue. cool Mind me not, I've fallen in love with my dictionary. heart heart heart eek what's it called???? I MUST get it crying Oxford Hachette French Dictionary (3d Edition). It's got about 3000 pages. I'm considering using it as a pillow. heart Why 'hachette', I don't know (Hatchet!). But I've been wanting one for ages and I finally have it. Oxford dictionaries are wonderful to start with, but when you get their best one... heart heart heart It's full of idioms and phrases and covers everything fairly extensively and has 'Over 360,000 words and phrases, and 550,000 translations' I can hardly pick it up. gonk

Eccentric Iconoclast Why 'hachette', I don't know (Hatchet!). But I've been wanting one for ages and I finally have it. Unless I'm mistaken, I think Hachette is the name of a French publisher. So maybe Oxford and Hachette joined forces to bring the uber dictionary -turned pillow- to life. IT LIVES!!!! *crackle of lightning* whee

Actually, I believe the Maschler German-English Online Dictionary at Exeter is the best dictionary in existence... of course, that's just me, as I prefer German to French. German goers should really take a look at this one. Type in a German or English word, and it will give you results in the other language. It's actually got most types of slang, too.
... Except the word 'Muschi.' redface
