Makenna's proposition was tempting, but A'Hallei would make no promises. Tormentors needed to take what they gave out. They had gotten away with abusing those different from them and gone unpunished for far too long, and it was likely talking would never change their behavior. Not understanding something was no reason to become needlessly abusive.

There were no excuses for the behavior of others.

Normally silence was telling, but since A'Hallei spent his entire life more or less silent, his silence was unreadable. He'd spent years masking his madness from others, and knew exactly how to look completely blank. If nothing else then, he was honest, and would rather not reveal then speak a lie. He'd have a problem if Makenna pressed the issue.

Besides, he wanted Makenna to eat and sleep because he wanted to, not because of a promise made. A'Hallei looked down as he strugged again with new words.
"I...Want you...To heal." He said quietly, with words pregnant with more meaning. He wanted Makenna's dreams to be happy, and for the bruises to fade, and for him to eat, and to be the reason for all those things. His love's well being was his as well, now.

A'Hallei's smile was genuine. Leaning up, he lightly licked the shell of Makenna's ear as he stood to get ready to go out. During his forays, it had occured to him how much he stood out in everyday society. If they were to venture to an eating establishment, he couldn't look menacing.

Pulling off his own loose cotton tunic, A'Hallei slipped on a new chainmail shirt which hadn't any sleeves. It attached to a fitted steel collar that clasped in the back. Over it his tunic went again, concealing the armor for the most part. Instead of leggings, a simple pair of grey jeans and sneakers made him look the most normal he'd ever appeared.

Long hair was tied back into a ponytail, and he was ready to go. Strapped to his lower leg was a fairly large knife, but was obscured by his jeans. A'Hallei dropped the ladder and waited patiently for his lover to decend. He figured Makenna would know a good place to go to.

A'Hallei didn't like leaving the ladder down but when both of them were out, there was little he could do. He was glad it wasn't too cold out, either.
As far as things to eat, he knew Makenna had good taste, after all, the kid made delicious breakfasts and dinners almost every day.
But this wasn't about him, his task was to get Makenna to eat. If not a lot, but some, because watching him waste away was painful.

"What are Obsidian's favorite foods?" He queried, taking the time to lightly fluff Makenna's hair. It had the natural but unusual tendancy to just stick up, which most people could only accomplish with artificial means.

While it was true not too many people ventured around the forest, he also didn't want any random kids messing with all of their stuff. Absently, A'Hallei wondered why he'd never thought to obtain a lock before. So, he nodded at the suggestion as he grasped Makenna's hand in his own as they began to walk to where his love worked.

The forest was where A'Hallei was most at home. As it fell away to a sudden end into suburbia, his comfort dropped. With busy streets and lots of people staring at him, A'Hallei wanted to retreat to the shadows, where even though he was almost albino, he could find some measure of solitude. Pointed ears twitched with increasing agitation as someone roughly bumped into him. For everyone's sake he wouldn't tear the man's trachea free, though by the slight tightening of his grip, it was clear he wanted to.
"Never seen where you work." He offered at legnth.

Makenna's touch was like magic to his nerves, and he found himself relenquishing a small smile. Memories of his more pleasant dreams where his beloved and he finally consummated their relationship returned to him and an almost guilty pleased look drifted across his face.

Coming in closer, A'Hallei drew Makenna against him, letting his hand drift down to rest on the small of his back. He pushed open the door and was relieved to find the din of the outside almost completely shut out and replaced by soothing music when the door slid shut behind them.

A'Hallei looked over the menu with interest. Most of the things here he'd only encountered because Makenna had introduced him to it. In the mansion, all the mentally unstable kids had the choice of mush, medicated mush, and mush that was vaguely cheesy. Occationally they had such treats as mashed potatoes, or instant noodles.

He found himself very partial to seafood, ever since Makenna had made it.

When the waiter arrived, A'Hallei quietly pointed out the daily special with a smile. It was diced Salmon with risotto and shaved carrots. A little pricier, but worth every last blinkin cent.

When the waiter had taken Makenna's order and left them to be alone, A'Hallei reached across the table and rested his hand on Makenna's.
"I really like it...So far." He added it as a little joke.

A'Hallei watched Makenna intently, to look for any signs of sickness. If his love had gone as long as he'd thought without food, his body might reject it. As long as he started small and worked his way up, he should be fine. Heck, it wasn't like he was gorging himself, but a small bowl of vegetable soup would go a long way toward making him feel better.

Silence prevaled for a long time before he dipped his head, working with himself to find the words he wanted to say. The fingers loosely woven together tightened slightly, but for emphasis on his words.
"Are you...happy here?"

The waiter returned with a plate of food for A'Hallei, who began to eat quietly, waiting for his answer. The ghosly boy chewed a square of salmon thoughtfully, internally appraising the little resturaunt and finding himself quite pleased.

A'Hallei for once took his time eating, if only for the sake that he'd thought Makenna would stop if he was done. Taking the time to eat allowed him to savor the craftsmanship of cooking, and he was quite impressed by the meal. Yes, Makenna picked a good place to be employed.

When that tanned hand tightened on his own, worried green eyes watched his beloved carefully. Though he still held a sort of wistful smile, Makenna seemed to grow increasingly anxious about something. Setting down his fork, A'Hallei reached over and lovingly stroked Makenna's hand in reassurance, a rare smile on his lips. Glad he was a clean eater, the ghostly boy lifted Makenna's hand to lightly kiss it before resuming his meal.
