He shrugged one shoulder, not bothering to look at her. "Sure, I don't see why not. We can have them moved into your room. Unfortunately, for the first few years, you're going to be cloistered up at HQ. You won't have any time for jobs or social lives outside of the Blazers. Is that clear?"

Emma's face immediately saddened when she was told that she wouldn't be able to see her friends while she was here. They were like her family, and with her sudden disappearance, they would all worry. I suppose everyone has to make sacrifices, Emma thought with a cringe as she thought about her two best buddies, Rob and Jake.
"I'm fine with that," she softly stated as she looked down at her feet and grasped her wakeboard close to her body.

Osiris, who had been walking in front, was suddenly behind Emma. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Hey," he said softly. "Don't worry. In a few years, you'll be able to go back to them. In the meantime, think about all the fun you'll have. And think, you're already making new friends." He pointed at the others and smiled reassuringly.

Blaine shook his head, "Well, I'm with you Osiris." he said. The only people he really cared about he left when he was sixteen, he had nothing to lose from becoming a Blazer.

Osiris shook his head. "Anatoly, you-"
"Hey!" came a voice from above. The sun was almost gone by now, so it was impossible to discern anything but a silhouette as it looked down on them from a nearby roof. "You! Blazer! Let's fight!"

"Your testers grow progressively less subtle, Osiris. Have fun, Emma. Anna." Anatoly stepped off to the side and sat down on the ground.

Blaine looked up to the voice and saw the silhouette of a man. He took a step away from Osiris, should the man decide to jump on top of him. He leaned against the wall, allowing Emma and Anna to handle this one like Osiris had wished.

Osiris cocked his head and looked at his watch. "Hmm? That's odd, I - oh."
His arm blurred as he made a move, just as the silhouette vanished. There was a resounding CRACKBOOM!, throwing up a huge cloud of dust and rubble.
It cleared in a moment to reveal Osiris on one knee in a crater several feet deep, panting and clutching his right arm close to his body.
Standing on the edge of the crater, arms crossed and looking down his nose, was a man. He stood a little over 5'5", so he was short compared to Osiris. He wore a pair of jeans and a black muscle shirt. Most noticably, he had an eyepatch over his left eye and a cross-shaped scar. It ran from his forehead down to the tip of his nose, and crossed right above his eyes.
He held a large hammer in his hand, wreathed in crackling electric currents.
"Go," Osiris said to the others, his voice clear despite the obvious pain in his face. "Get out of here. Head to where we first met up. There should be someone nearby who can get you to HQ." Osiris stood, his arm hanging limp.

"Mmmhmm. Of course. Will we be jumped there, too?" Anatoly replied, not moving from where he sat.

Emma's eyes were wide but she obediently followed Osiris' orders. She ran to where they entered, grabbing Anna's wrist as she passed by her.
