Shemei lowered the basket to the ground and stopped. "Firrah don't rub your eyes!" She sighed, "If the cloudiness is bothering you then shut your eyes...just sleep if you can and I will take care of everything else..." she said gently.
She was getting to know his body movements when he started to mess with his eyes.

Firrah was shocked and amazed at Shemei's knowledge. How had she known he was rubbing his eye? And how did she know about it being cloudy? Could she see it when she had looked at him earlier?
His ears drooped with shame. He had let her down again.
"I'm sorry," he whimpered. "I won't do it again ..."
He bit his lip anxiously, then suggested, "What if I carry the basket for you? Then my hands are busy and I can't rub even if I did want to!"

Shemei could tell the hurt in Firrah's voice and she nodded moving to pick up the basket and turned her head to hand it up to him, "Alright..." once he took it she nods, "And you should eat something too Firrah dear."
She wanted him to finally be better so that she could stop upsetting him.

Firrah took the basket from Shemei and held the handle with both hands, his grip so tight that his knuckles were showing white beneath his black fur.
"Okay," he agreed softly, opening the basket and peering inside. He pulled out a strip of meat and looked at it for a moment, then looked at Shemei again. "Do you want some?" he asked, holding the meat out so that she could take it in her mouth if she wanted to.

Shemei nods, "yes thank you dear...you do know what I need sometimes don't you?" She laughed softly and licked his hands before taking the meat. He was so troubled she just wanted him to smile and be happy again. But she was failing to do so.

Firrah giggled as Shemei licked his hands, and he stroked her head lovingly before he reached into the basket for more food for himself.
"But you know what I need better," he told her warmly ... and then his voice faltered slightly. "I just am not a good listener ..."
He was such a bad boy ... why was she so good to him?

Shemei chewed the food and smiled, "Well dear listening takes time...you just don't learn to do it over night." She laughed, "And your still young....give it a wail." she nods and could see the house over in the distance.

Firrah blushed and gripped the basket tighter, lowering his eyes. He promised himself right then and there that he would always listen to Shemei, as much as he possibly could, to show her how special she was to him.
"I'll do better," he promised Shemei quietly, rubbing one leg back and forth against her side as he rode.
He could see their tree looming in the distance, and he felt a fresh wave of fear. Casimirio was so close now ... and he was the one they were going to see ... on purpose ...

Shemei smiled and was distracted by the soft feel of Firrah's leg rubbing her side. She purred softly, her body vibrating under Firrah, "I know you will." she said and turned to lick his non moving leg.
She stopped feeling his body tense a bit and she looked at him.

Firrah felt Shemei's body vibrating beneath him, and he smiled a bit, feeling a little bit braver.
"We should keep going," he squeaked timidly when she stopped. "Gotta ... gotta see Casimirio ... and just get it all done ..."
Before he chickened out.

Shemei nods, "You are very brave...and once we are done with him I will give you a bath and you can rest in a real nice and comfy bed." she smiled and started to walk again.
"Don't worry i will not leave your side."

Firrah smiled broadly then, and he leaned forward and licked the top of Shemei's head affectionately.
"Then I'll do everything Casimirio tells me to," he smiled, trying to sound braver than he felt. "I can be brave if you're with me."
And he honestly felt that way. As long as he wasn't alone with Casimirio, he would be fine. Or at least, he wouldn't run screaming.

The vibrating increased as he licked her head. She did love to be cuddled, stroked, and licked. She was of a cat mindset after all. She smiles, "Very good...and after he fixes you up you don't have to see him again...unless you get infected again.."
She promised him. After all Casimiro hardly ever came to the second floor.

"And I promise no scratching or rubbing or anything," Firrah grinned, "so that it won't get worse again!"
He held onto the basket once more and wrapped his legs around her. "Come on, we gotta get going," he murmured once more.
As they approached the house he asked her, "Should I be riding on you when we go in? What if Casimirio gets mad and hurts us both again? He doesn't want us to be good friends ..."

Shemei lay down for Firrah to get off when she was close to the house, "IF you feel better walking then I will let you walk in. He will understand seeing you hurt...but he just does not want me looking at you with love....and the need to mate you in my eyes." She smiled at him and whispered into his ear "If I don't show him that then you are safe."
