Switch and his Astromech are pretty much using all the cover behind the desk.

Dont forget you have guys on your side as well. Switch has goons too, plus Nolaa and Roth.
The only way out of the bay besides that door is the chasm in the back that has no railings and plumments all the way down into the station's reactor core.
