Next was the 6 on 6 battles, and Robert wuould have his work cut out for him in this one. May was one of the best coordinators in Hoenn. May blinked at Robert. "Don't think I'm going to go easy on you just because we're friends." she spoke. Robert gave bit of a chuckle. "I'd feel insulted if you did May." Robert retorted. "Blaziken, take the stage!" Roibert had an idea of what he was up agianst: Fire and Fighting type. And for that he had just the answer, a pokemon that was strong agianst both. "Hogan, time for your appearance!" Robert called out, bringing his Gyarados into battle. Even though Hogan didn't know any water attacks yet, defensewise Hogan had the advantage. "Blaziken, start off with fire spin and launch yourself into it with Sky Uppercut. Blaziken became a deadly drill like attack as it soared at Hogan. However, Robert was already one step ahead of her. "Hogan, Dragon Rage!" Robert called out. With a vicious blast of purple-ish energy from his massive gaping mouth, Hogan made quick work of the fire spin and nailed a direct hit on Blaziken. However, it would take more than that to put Blaziken down.

"Blazing Kick!" May called out, sending Blaziken back on the attack. "Hogan, take the hit and use Ice Fang." Even though ice attacks weren't very efective agianst fire types, there was always the chance to freeze, and the chance to cause Blaziken to flinch. As Blaziken's kick struck Hogan, the Gyaradossecured it's icy jaws down hard on Blaziken, then tossed Blaziken back at May. "Now, Dragon Rage!" Robert called out. "Quick Blaziken, dodge!" may retorted, but Blaziken flinched from the pain of the bite, leaving it wide open for Hogan's Dragon Rage. With a direct hit, Blaziken was down and out. "You did good Blaziken. Now, Glaceon, take the stage! Ice Beam!" As the newly called out Glaceon launched into attack mode and fired off a powerful Ice Beam, Robert went into offensive mode. "Roll and Dragon Rage!" Robert said. After rolling off to the left, Hogan let loose with another Dragon Rage. However, Hogan didn't dodge the ice beam completely is his tail fins were now frozen.. Glaceon rolled to recover it's footing after being hit with Dragon Rage. " Now, Iron Tail!" May called out. In this attack , Robert saw opportunity. "Hogan, intercept with a tail tackle, then use Bite!" Using Glaceon's iron tail to Robert's advantage, the Iron Tail attack shattered the frozen ice that had covered and pelted Glaceon with the debris. While heading towards the ground, Hogan used bite and, once more, tossed Glaceon towards May. At this point, Glaceon had taken heavy damage, while Hogan was still on his first wind. "Glaceon, use Quick Attack to run up Gyarados and blast it at close range with Shadow Ball!" Without hesitation, Glaceon did as she was instructed and landed her hit without a hitch. "Now whip your body around and send Glaceon flying with tackle!" Robert commanded. Whipping his head forward hard, Hogan sent Glaceon flying. With a quick whip of his tail, he pounded Glaceon, causing her to faint. "Good job. Now Venusaur, come on out and take that Gyarados down with Razor Leaf!" Robert smiled. Normally, water types were weak to grass. But with the flying type added in, Gyarados was an exception to this rule. However, the shadow ball from before did a nice bit of damage to his tank pokemon. "Hogan, try and take those leaves out with Dragon Rage and then go in with Ice Fang!" Robert called out. Hogan managed to take out most of the leaves, only to be pelted with those he missed. Gyarados lunged in to bite and freeze up the flower on Venusaur's back. With the flower frozen, Venusaur would be denied its Solar Beam attack. "Damn. Venusaur, use vine whip to shut Gyarados' mouth and slap the life out of it. Vebusaur did as it was told, and with Gyarados' mouth shut, it had all but one attack available. "Ok, let's match strength with strength. Hogan, whipe your head around and try to bring Venusaur closer to your, then tackle at maximum power!" Robert commanded. Enduring hit after hit of Vine Whip, Hogan yanked Venusaur close and drove his head hard agianst Venusaurs, inadvertantly KOing them both. "You did great Hogan. You really are the tank of this team." May smiled. "That's one heck of a pokemon, but this battle is far from over. Go, Wartortle!" Robert gave a nod. "As long as you have pokemon left, I don't plan on counting my Torchics before they hatch." Robert teased. "Sable, let's go!" Robert said, bringing his Pikachu out to fight. "Wartorle, Ice Beam the floor!' May called out. With a powerful ice beam blast, she began turning the battle field into a skating rink. Robert smiled. This was the kind of challenge he had expected. This would make movement difficult for Sable, while she could use moves like Rapid Spin to her advantage to deal even more punishment. "Sable, jump around the arena and rapid attack with Iron Tail each time you land." Robert called out. Sable did as she was commanded to and made several spots of dry land among the ice. Wartortle tried to hit Sable with Ice Beam each time, but Sable kept moving fast enough to avoid them. Once a hexagon was formed from the spots of land, Robert called out his next move. "Now, Electric Fence!" Robert called out. Using a combination of Thunder Wave and Quick Attack, Sable created a web of electricity like a temporary fence. Then, launching herself up into the air, she rained down a single, powerful Thunderbolt attack, which would center inside the hexagon and shoot out towards the 'fence', fryiong anything within it, which in this case was Wartortle. May was down to her last two pokemon, and Robert still have five, including Sable. "Beautifly, let's go! Sleep Powder and then follow it up with String Shot!" "Sable, Thunderbolt now!" Robert called out. The thunderbolt attack struck one of Beautifly's wings, but not before dusting Sable to sleep. After Beautiful landed with a thud, it String shot Sable, practically mummifying her. Beautifly was in no shape to move with an injured wing and being paralysed on top of that. "Beautifly return! Go Munchlax! Solar Beam!" With Sable fast asleep and all wrapped up, there was nothing Robert could do but watch as Munchlax KO'd Sable. "Sable return. Robert said, returning her to her pokeball then releasing her back to his side. "Go Lotus!" Robert said, bringing out his Umbreaon. "Alright, let's knock this one out with Focus Punch!" may called out. Robert waited for a little bit as Munchlax got closer. He knew if this hit, Umbreon woulf be out cold, but Focus Punch could be stopped if that attacker was hit before the punch could reach them. Once Munchlax was within five feet away, Robert gave his command. "Lotus, Destiny of Darkness!" Robert called out. Lotus nailed Munchlax at close range, too close to evade, but not close enough to be within striking range of Focus Punch. Lotus then used Quick Attack and Pursuit, nailing Munchlax from behind.. Munchlax stumbled forward several hops before May called out her move. "Munchlax, Solar beam full power!" Robert looked to Lotus. "Now Lotus, Painful Blessing!" As Munchlax stored up power, Lotus used Wish and then charged in with quick attack. Munchlax struck Lotus head on. Lotus emerged from the Beam to land a powerful Pursuit atack. Just as the attack landed, Wish took effect, healing Lotus for the majority of the damage Solar Beam did. Munchlax was fainted, and now all May had left was a badly injured Beautifly. "Beautifly, Morning Sun!" May called out. Robert knew he had to do something and fast. Knowing Morning Sun worked better with sunlight, Robert issued his next command. "Use Shadow ball at the ground around Beautifly!" Robert called out. Lotus unleashed several Shadow Balls, causing clouds of dust to flow all around beautifly. Although it managed to heal for a little bit, the dust cloud denied Beautifly its much-needed healing. "Now, Quick attack!" Robert called out. Ruhsing into the cloud, Beautifly ended up comming out from the left side, fainted. With that, Robert won his bout agianst May.

Having completed the first three rounds of the tournament, Jake stopped and got some quick dinner for him and his pokemon. He then headed back to his room with Dawn. "Wow, you did really good today Jake." Jake nodded, "Yeah, but there's one last thing I want to work on." Dawn gave a confused look, "What's that?" Jake replied, "I want to teach my Charmeleon dig. He could really use it for his smokescreen attack." Dawn gave a puzzled look. "Don't worry Dawn, I promise to use this strategy tomorrow for you to see." Dawn nodded and they walked into their rooms.

In Jake's room, Jake and Charmeleon worked hard into the night, finally mastering the dig attack. "Alright Charmeleon, I want to make an improvement again to our smokescreen meneuver. Its no going to be that you blow the cloud of smoke as usual, and then you will dig into the ground and emerge stealthily behind your opponent. As soon as you emerge, strike with the attack I tell you to, okay?" Charmeleon nodded. "Alright, this trick is going to be called "fire escape". After a good half hour of changing the routine yet again, Charmeleon had fully managed fire escape.

Jake and his pokemon then went to bed and headed back to the battle dome for their battle against Lyle. Jake watched as Hogan from Robert's team took out most of May's team. And Robert ended up winning. If Jake won his battle against Lyle, he would be up against Robert.

Liam started the battle by sending out a Wailmer. Jake thought carefully, and after almost sending out Gloom, Jake decided to send out Munchlax. "Munchlax, go!"

"Wailmer, use rollout!" Knowing that rollout was a strong attack, Jake figured his best choice was to counter it with another move, so both pokemon take damage and Munchlax's damage is reduced, "Munchlax, counter with tackle!" As Wailmer rolled in a straight line towards Munchlax, Munchlax ran towards Wailmer like a football player and slammed into her. The collision caused Munchlax to fly backwards while wailmer was just bumped, and kept rolling in the direction of Munchlax. Jake decided that his tackle approach was basically useless, so he gave Munchlax another command, "Munchlax, use shockwave to alter her direction!" Munchlax opened his mouth and shot a curved jolt of electricity at wailmer, dealing super effective damage and causing her to veer off to the right, missing Munchlax. The rollout attack was over. "Wailmer, water gun!" Wailmer sent a jet of water at Munchlax. "Munchlax, jump up and use zen headbutt!" Munchlax jumped into the air and slammed into wailmer with a Zen Headbutt attack. The attack had caused Wailmer to flinch. "Now Munchlax, shockwave!" Munchlax finished wailmer off with another shockwave attack. "Wailmer, return."

"Aipom, go!" An energetic Aipom emerged from Lyle's pokeball. "Munchlax, use zen headbutt!" Munchlax flew at Aipom with a zen headbutt. "Aipom, counter with brick break!" Just before Munchlax hit Aipom, Aipom slammed Munchlax to the ground with a brick break attack, dealing massive damage. Munchlax didn't have nearly enough health to take one more hit. "Munchlax, use rest!" Munchlax fell asleep and a pecha berry Jake had given Munchlax to hold woke up instantly. "Aipom, iron tail!" Aipom ran to Munchlax and knocked him back with an iron tail attack. "Munchlax, get up and use tackle!" Munchlax got up off the ground. "Aipom, brick break!" Munchlax began to run towards Aipom but just before the attack landed, Munchlax was KO'd by a brick break attack. "Munchlax, return. You did great."

"Jin, go and use hypnosis!" Poliwhirl emerged from her pokeball and put Aipom to sleep with a hypnosis attack. "Now, use water gun!" Poliwhirl shot a water gun attack Aipom, dealing a decent amount of damage. "Now, use wakeup slap!" Poliwhirl woke up Aipom, and KO'd her with one wakeup slap attack. Poliwhirl had defeated Aipom without taking a single hit. "Aipom, return."

"Roselia, go!" Roselia came from her pokeball. "Mega Drain!" Roselia shot two strands of green energy from her hands and used them to push Poliwhirl into the wall, absorbing health as it happened. Once Poliwhirl hit the wall, the two strands went back into Roselia. "Poliwhirl, use hypnosis!" Poliwhirl couldn't get up from the last attack. "Roselia, run and use poison jab!" Roselia began to run at Poliwhirl. "Poliwhirl, its okay. Take your time, just counter with wakeup slap." Roselia was nearing Poliwhirl and as she approached, Poliwhirl swung her right hand back, and then punched Roselia with an icy fist, KO'ing her. "Awesome, you learned Ice Punch!"

"Tangela, go and use vine whip!" A tangela emerged from Lyle's pokeball and hit Poliwhirl hard with a vine. "Poliwhirl, use hypnosis!" Poliwhirl used a hypnosis attack, but it missed. "Now Tangela, use mega drain!" Tangela KO'd Poliwhirl with a mega drain attack. "Poliwhirl, return."

"Charmeleon, go!" "Alright Tangela, its time. Use ancient power!" Three large rocks came from the ground and hit Charmeleon one by one. Then, Tangela began to glow and her shape changed. She evolved into a Tangrowth. "Charmeleon, use fire spin!" Charmeleon shot a spiraling flame at tangrowth. "Tangrowth, dodge!" Tangrowth dodged. "Tangrowth, return, I've got someone else who can deal with Charmeleon."

"Golemn, go!" A golemn came from the pokeball. "Uh-oh, its okay Charmeleon, you can handle him." Charmeleon nodded. "Golemn, use stone edge!" Golemn rolled towards Charmeleon at high speeds. "Charmeleon, fire escape!" Seconds before Golemn hit charmeleon, he blew a cloud of smoke, hiding him. Golemn struck, tackling nothing but thin air. "Now Charmeleon, use metal claw!" Charmeleon emerged from the ground behind Golemn and struck with a metal claw attack. "Golemn, while he's in close range, use explosion!" Golemn exploded, KO'ing both Charmeleon and Golemn. "Charmeleon, return." "Golemn, return."

"Cross, go!" "Rhydon, go!" "Scyther, use blade acceleration!" Scyther began to charge towards Rhydon with a quick attack. "Rhydon, use rockslide!" just before Scyther was within range to use fury cutter, a huge wall of boulders fell from the sky, causing scyther to run into it and take damage. "Now Rhydon, stone edge!" Rhydon blasted through the rocks and landed a double super effective critical hit attack that KO'd Scyther. "Cross, return."

"Gloom, go and use sunny day!" Gloom emerged from her pokeball, shaking her head as she did so, causing the stadium to fill with sunlight. "Rhydon, hammer arm!" Rhydon ran towards Gloom. "Gloom, wait for close range. now use sleep powder!" Gloom landed a close range sleep powder attack, putting Rhydon to sleep. "Now, mega drain until he wakes up!" Gloom use a mega drain attack on Rhydon, fully draining his energy before he had awakened. Rhydon had fainted. "Rhydon, return."

"Tangrowth, go!" "Alright Gloom, let's let Candra handle this. Return. Candra, go!" Gloom was recalled to her pokeball and Candra was summoned from hers. "Tangrowth, Ancient Power!" "Candra, dodge and follow up with a wing attack!" Three large boulders lifted from the ground and flew at Zubat. Zubat dodged each one and quickly dove down with a Wing attack, dealing a critical hit. "Vine whip Tangrowth!" A vine came from Tangrowth's body and swung at Zubat. "Candra, dodge and use aerial ambush!" Candra dodged the vine whip attack and dove down, biting Tangrowth in a poison fang. She then, to Jake's surprise, lifted Tangrowth into the air and began to glow, evolving into a Golbat. Golbat then flipped in the air and threw Tangrowth at the ground, striking her with Air Cutter as she fell. Tangrowth was KO'd.

Jake recalled Candra and quickly got his pokemon healed. Then headed back to the waiting room for his battle against Robert.

Liam headed back to Giovanne's room. Where he and the other Rocket members (with the exception of Kira) were watching the tournament on a TV. "I'm really sorry boss." Liam said as he handed two pokeballs back to Giovanne. "You should be. We've got three of our twerps in there and Kira's the only rocket left out there." Liam nodded, "Well boss, there is something I realized during that battle." Giovanne raised an eyebrow at Liam. Liam then finished his sentence, "That's the kid we lost the purple orb to back in mount moon." Giovanne turned to Liam's partner, Joan, "Is that true Joan?" Joan thought back to Liam's battle and replied with a yes. Giovanne hummed, "Well, we need that purple orb in order to gain complete control over Deoxys. Without it, our plan is a failure. However, we don't need it until much further in our operations. No matter, that purple orb belongs in our hands, and we will obtain it. Jessi, James, Meowth. Tonight, when Jake is headed back to his room, I want you three to steel that purple orb. Ya hear me?" The three of them nodded and Team Rocket continued watching the tournament in silence.

Jake walked out to the battle field and stood at the opposite end of the field from Robert. "Good luck!" Jake shouted with a smile across the field. The contest judge then declared the rules. "The battle between Jake and Robert will be a 6 on 6 knockout battle. Substitutions may be made. We will flip a coin to see who releases the first pokemon. If heads, Jake releases first and gets the first move. If tails, Robert releases first and gets the first move." The judge flipped his coin in the air and the crowd watched as it hit his hand. Revealing which side was facing up.

(I'm just going to use the random number function to determine who goes first. The number one will represent heads while the number two will represent tails. To keep it simple and a fifty-fifty chance. Okay?)

"Alright then, Cross, go!" Scyther came from his pokeball and stood on the stage, ready to battle."

"Scyther, brace yourself for the hit and then use ring dance!" Scyther took the hit from swift and then quickly approached Sandslash. He then used double team and circled around Mathias with his clones. Then, each and every clone sped towards Mathias with their blades ready.

"Alright Scyther, finish the combination while taking the hit." The clones dove towards Sandslash -some of them disappearing from being hit by swift on the way- and all struck with a night slash. However, the close contact with rapid spin and swift gave Scyther's attack some recoil. But he could handle it.

"Alright then Scyther. I think this would be a better job for someone else. Return.) Scyther went back into his pokeball. "Now, Candra, go and use Mean Look!" Golbat came from her pokeball and stared at the digging sandslash with her eyes. With mean look in place, mathias wouldn't be able to be returned.
