Liam watched as the girl ran away. He turned back to the other girls and the one other guy in the group. "Did I..um..say something wrong just there?" He turned back to the direction the girl ran.

Placing her leftovers on the ground for Sarah, Mai stood up, watching after Stephy.
"No..no you didn't." She said softly as she looked at Liam, before walking after Stephy.
Mai found herself led to the bathroom, and saw Stephy on the ground, surrounded by shattered glass.
"Stephy!" Mai said, stepping over to her and snatching the glass out of her hands. She was carefuly not to cut herself, as she threw it to one side.
"What in God's name..." Mai let her sentence trail off as she headed to the door and locked it.
"It wasn't skateboarding, was it?" Mai asked, sitting herself on a place on the counter, where glass did not litter.

"What the hell is going on?" I mutter, pushing myself to my feet. I walk out of the waiting area, across the way to the bathroom where Mai had fled to. I pushed open the door, disregarding the fact that it was a woman's bathroom, and saw Stephy covered in glass. I started to ask what had happened, but I saw the trash can lid she held loosely in her hand, and the shattered mirror above this sinks.
"Why...?" was all I could manage to ask. I couldn't speak past the large lump and my throat that I was trying desperately to swallow. Out of habit, I started scratching my upper left arm, absentmindedly pushing the short sleeve up to reveal multiple circular burn scars.
I lower the sleeve, still staring at Stephy, trying to process what I knew my eyes were seeing, but my brain simply would not.

Liam followed the other guy, which he had still never bothered to learn the name of. He didn't know that it was a girls bathroom when he walked in, and quite frankly he didn't care at all. "Holy --" He cut himself off there. "I must have said or did something wrong..." He looked from the girl that ran, to the guy he followed, then to Mai.

"No, it wasn't skateboarding..." I looked at Xander and saw the burn marks, I put a mental note in the back of my mind, "It was my father. I glanced up to the boy and shot my eyes back to the floor. "You didn't say anything wrong. I just... I'm too emotional I guess." I stood up and faced a non-shattered mirror and wiped the tears away from my eyes and cheeks. "Sorry..." I muttered.

Liam just looked at the girl with a little bit of pity in his eyes. A woman walked in and stared in shock at 1) The shattered mirror and 2) the 2 guys in the women's bathroom. Liam looked at the Woman and they shouted just a little pointing towards the door. "Do you mind? We are kind of in the middle of something here!" The woman double checked the sign on the door but then decided it was best to find another bathroom and left. Liam turned back to the girl who had shattered the mirror. "Don't worry, I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason for you emotions to be raging like this...do you need a hug?" He held his arms out as a little tiny voice spoke in the back of his mind. Have you gone soft?! First that Mai girl, and now this girl!? I mean, yes we love girls, but WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!?!

I jumped slightly at his movement, not that it was sudden, but I wasn't sure if he was going to hit me or not. I looked at him and fully realized this boy was nothing like my father. He had a heart. He cared. I hestated, I knew what a hug was, but I might have only had three in my whole life. I finally walked into his arms and cried against his shoulder. Someone cared. Someone didn't want to hurt me...

Her father...? Mai thought, now really shocked. She swallowed the hollowness in her throat.
Stephy seemed so happy.. but then again, I guess I do too. But.. how? Why? Mai fought the urge to ask questions, as the girl was alreayd upset enough, and crying in Liam's arms.

Liam was shocked as a thousand thoughts when through his head almost at the same time. What the--? I didn't think she would accept the hug. Okay what do I do now?! Like what do I say?! He closed his arms around her and held her. Okay...I'm sure I saw this in a movie once. "Um...There there, everything will be just fine....?" Liam had a questionable look on his face that basically said: 'What am I doing? Please tell me I am doing good...' Like it mattered though, that voice in the back of his head was back, telling him to just let go, push her away from him. His heart on the other hand wanted to keep her with him...as it felt about most girls.

I closed my eyes and started to drift asleep, comfort was rare, so when it came, I took advantage of the security it brought. My head rested on his collar bone and I made very soft snoring sounds. My mind was free of torment and I felt warm. Still not quite completely asleep, a small 'Thank you' crossed my lips and then like a narcoleptic i was unconcious.
