"Alright, thank you," Alerin bids her as he takes the key. He wanders into the room and examines it, finding the usual simple furnishings of an inn. Walking over to the window, he peers out and sees that his window faced the street and allowed access to the porch roof at the front of the building. This detail prompts him to scratch at an ear thoughtfully, as while it would make getting down to the ground in a hasty exit easier, it also made access to his room easier. He'd not heard any whispers that there were any pursuers after him though, so he wasn't worried about that overmuch. Leaving the room and locking it, he turns to head downstairs.

Now that most of the customers that came with the rush had been served, the workers get a little downtime. Bethor goes in the back to make another batch of stew and Frank goes out back to check on the horses, leaving Mikora and Nim to mind the tavern. Mikora takes up a rag and starts to clean the bartop.

Alerin had settled at the bar on a stool and had purchased a tankard of ale. He was currently leaning his back against the counter while looking out at the crowd. Sipping from the tankard every now and then, he watches the other customers behavior, looking for anything that could be out of the ordinary. Fortune seemed on his side though, these folk all seemed to simple travelers and townsfolk. Still, he knew how appearances could be deceiving. He listens to Nim and Mikora and wonders how he was going to get them out of here unseen.

Alerin just continues to listen and watch while enjoying his ale. His left ear tilts downward as he relaxes. Speaking of ears, his mind wanders off as he wonders what Mikora's parents must have looked like for her to have pink ears.

A customer that had had a little too much to drink bellows for service and Mikora quails a little. "I'll be right back," she says, sounding a little exasperated. Suddenly, she were wishing Frank were here. She heads over to serve the customer, a regular, and one that is removed now and then for his lewd behavior when he'd hit the ale a little too hard. Mikora tries to stay out of arms length when she asks what she can get for him.
"Oi...a little pleasurable company'll do, lass," he says with a bawdy laugh. He makes a grab for Mikora's wrist, reaching out and almost losing his seat.
Mikora tires to pull her hand away but isn't fast enough. "Now William, you don't want Frank to come back in here seeing you like this, do you?" she tries to reason with the man, in a very flustered manner.
"Aw, well you can just sit in in me lap til 'e comes back, luv. I'll let ye go after that."
Mikora squeaks when he pulls on her wrist and plants her where he wants her. She blushes furiously, looking a little like she wanted to cry.

Alerin saw the trouble coming as soon as William had called Mikora over. It happened far too often in the taverns in Asterage. Nim's response wasn't appropriate either as of yet. It wouldn't do for there to be bloodshed, so Alerin sigh and gets up to keep trouble to a minimum. Say, friend, what's all this fuss about? Can't you see the lady has other duties to attend to other than being a lap-warmer. I daresay her father will be most displeased to find that you've been monopolizing her company when other customers are left thirsty due to your selfishness," he says amicably, smiling in a friendly manner at William.

"Oi..now...'oo 're you? Mebbe you two oughta mind your own business," William retorts, drunkenly swaying in his seat a bit. "I saw her first 'afore anyone else in 'ere." He lets out a little hiccup.

"Me? I'm just a concerned traveler, that's all. However," he leans forward a bit, "Don't you think your nice comfortable bed sounds much nicer than sitting here? Mikora will still be here another day, so why don't you go home and get some rest? By leaning forward, Alerin's cloak had fallen forward, obscuring his hands, letting him quickly do the somatic component for a suggestion spell. The slightly emphasized words are the magical suggestion to the man. As sloshed as the man smelled, it was highly unlikely William could resist it.

William, looking slightly dazed answers. "Y'know...that might not be a bad ide'er...." He answers a little slowly, as though it's taking time for the ieda to come into his head. More because of the drunken haze than any resistance to the spell. He gets up, almost dumping Mikora onto the floor, and walks out, still looking mildly confused.
Mikora stumbles forward, looking a little bewildered and pouting. "I really hate it when that happens..." she murmurs. She turns to Alerin. "Um...t-thank you..." she says, giving a little curtsy. "And you, too Nim," she says, turning to her friend.
