Xavier quickly spun around at the sound of her voice. "Keyla?....Is that you?" He started to wonder if he was imagining things, maybe he was more injured then he thought. Placing one hand against a tree to lean against it, Xavier never took his eyes off her for a second. "What happened? Last thing I remember is running after you then everything went blank"

Keyla blinked at his question and nodded. "Yes, it's me" she said, and took a few more steps forward until she was close enough to reach him but stayed there for a moment. She nodded again, "Yeah I know.. I don't know what happened to you. You just disappeared. When I looked back you weren't there, so I have no idea what happened." She said with a shrug and looked down, seeing he was leaning more on one leg. "You're hurt." She said and looked up at him again. "Here.. let me help you." She offered.

With a quiet contemplation and slight hesitation, Xavier limped over to her. Everything was still a little hazy so he staggered slightly and fell down, using his hands to stop himself from falling flat on the forest floor. Rolling over, he looked up at her and started to laugh slightly. "Ya know, from this angle, it makes you look as if you have a halo."

Shane had stood by watching all of the newcomers wondering whether or not they would threaten the lives of his comrades. He kept silent and cautiously followed the injured Alaura and the newly arrived Paladin. He kept his distance so as to not eavesdrop on their conversation. He was still unsure of these people, and wouldn't be able to live with knowing Alaura was harmed and he was not around to save her. So, for now, he followed.
Knowing that Vivian needed to rest, Seth led her to the base of one of the unoccupied tree houses. "Stay here while I go ask for one of the earth users to assist us in getting all the way up there." He momentarily left to do as he had said. He returned shortly with a rather stout older fellow. The man used his abilities to raise the ground, on which Vivian and Seth stood, up into the air and stopped it at the entrance to the tree house. Seth thanked the man as they got off and the man lowered the dirt back down. Seth led Vivian to the bed so they could rest.
Was that a yes? He excitedly caught up with Nicki and motioned for Malachi, who promptly ran over. "We'll be going into town for a drink. You're welcome to take the night off." Malachi nodded to the two of them and he left the room. Nicolai opened the door for Nicki and they started down the road into the center of town. As they walked, Nicolai was attempting to think of something to say. He was rather new to this, as it was not often he even left his home, let alone with a woman. "So... where do you want to go?"
"Right then, let us be on our way. We will wait for her in the throne room. Shall I have the servants brings us some food while we wait?" Adel inquired with a grin. "I do hope it doesn't take her too long to arrive."
Flint watched as a single man approached the castle gate. And the sky darkened as the clouds that followed the man swallowed up the sky, choking off the sunlight. The man had his head slightly down causing shadows to block the view of his face. The only things Flint could see were the man's sapphire eyes. He wore the same clothing as most of the water soldiers did, with the exception of his weapon. The usual weapon of choice for a water soldier was a blade, but this man carried a rather large and heavy scythe. Flint at first thought that the weapon would encumber the man, as he wasn't the bulky sort that would carry such a weapon. But something told him that, the way he carried himself even with such weight, that it didn't burden him at all.
Flint placed two fingers to his drawn blade. The blood red metal began to glow a shade of bright red as he used his ability to heat up the sword to extreme temperatures. His blade was made of a special material making it able to retain its shape regardless of how high the temperature got.
The clouds that had gathered now began to pour rain down upon the two men as they stood there, staring at each other. No words were exchanged. The red blade sizzled as rain water rang off it, causing bits of steam to raise into the air. Everything went silent. Flint's ember-colored eyes burned with intensity as he broke the calm, charging towards the man.

As they walked through the camp, it became increasingly obvious that Evan would have to work much harder to earn the other's trust than he thought. His appearance was drawing far more attention and sideways glances than he was comfortable with. I am going to find a descent place to sleep. You can do as you wish, but I've had enough of the murmuring of the soldiers.
With that, Evan strode away, before Ryal could say a thing. Not that he could have anyway. He was still awestruck by his surroundings. He had never seen anything of the like! Trees formed into living houses! He began to wander aimlessly around the camp, marveling at one thing or another.

Crystal felt comforted by the sound of her new friend’s voice. It set her mind at ease to hear the woman’s rather soothing voice beside her. She, of course, could not see the sign and thus had no indication before Seilynn’s question that the woman intended to head to the light kingdom. Being so young, despite her maturity, and having been raised without the views of her country drilled into her, Crystal felt no fear when Seilynn mentioned the light kingdom. In fact, her eyes seemed to briefly flash with excitement as she turned to the woman.
“The light kingdom? I’ve never been there before. Is it a nice place?” She sounded every bit the child she truly was, questioning with excitement clear in her tone. For Crystal the world was one huge playground that she had yet to fully discover. She just wanted to visit all of the lands, even if she couldn’t see them as others could. Still, it was nice to visit and to hear and smell and sense in other ways how the world truly worked and lived.

“Damien Athariel, milady.” The paladin said, bowing his head towards the white haired woman. He still held onto her arm, noting that she seemed to have leaned a portion of her weight against him, whether intentionally or not, and he was now essentially supporting her as they walked slowly towards the largest of the houses in the trees. He noticed that a man, clearly of the water kingdom, was following not far off. A wary eye glanced toward the man, but Damien could tell his worry was for the woman the paladin now walked with. A part of Damien felt slightly downstruck by the man’s presence, though he couldn’t completely explain why. In any case, those emerald eyes now stared up at Damien with their intense, inquiring gaze. Even in her tired state this Alaura held a fierce demeanor.
“I have come to your camp upon the suggestion of a man I met earlier. A Seth Daedra. To put this briefly, I believe we have like intentions and I would like to, at the very least, travel with your group. I think we can offer each other much in such difficult times.” His words, as always, were spoken in the light and charming voice that seemed to calm and entrance most. It was hard, looking at such a seemingly angelic man, not to feel compelled to do as he asked.
Alaura listened to the man’s words in complete silence. When he had finished they had actually reached her treehouse. Her gaze drifted from the man up the tree until it landed on a single falcon resting on railing above. A very brief grin slid across her lips at the sight of the bird, a friend Alaura had been with for many years. Her mind was set at ease and the troubles of the past days seemed to melt away, if only for a moment. Then she brought her gaze back towards the earth and the man she still clung to as if he were her life. Not wishing to be so dependant on another, Alaura pulled away suddenly and leaned her weight against the tree, trying to pose casually so as not to seem so very weak.
“I must say I am truly intrigued. I have heard much of the Paladins of the Knorth Kingdom. Your great reputation preceeds you, Damien. However, as I have said to the others, I cannot fully trust you with my men until you have given me reason to trust you. Still, if you wish simply to travel with us ther eis naught I could truly do to stop you.” Here a slightly wicked grin found its way across her rosey lips. “At least not right now.” She added before letting the grin be washed away by that stoney expression.
Without hesitation, and before Damien could answer, Alaura bowed her head in a very slight gesture, indicating something of a goodbye. “Now, if you wouldn’t mind, I must turn in for the night.” She said, glancing towards Shane for just a second before looking back to Damien. The paladin nodded, bowing fully this time and heading off to find his own place to sleep. With only Alaura and Shane left below the grand house above, Alaura felt free to finally let her guard down, if only a little. Her eyes shifted to Shane and the true weight of the past few days seemed all to apparent.
“Shane?” She spoke in a voice softer than ever before, her eyes gleaming with embarasment. She knew there was no way she would make it up to her treehouse on her own. She couldn’t use her powers, not without a great deal of work and likely pain, but neither did she feel she had the strength to make the climb without help. Hate it as she might, she knew she had no choice but to ask for aid. Still, she didn’t seem capable of finding the words needed. A heavy sigh escaped her and she dropped her gaze. She simply couldn’t bring herself to ask him.

Nicki looked at Nicolai, a little shocked at his question. It was sometimes easy to forget how naive others could be, especially when one was so often detached from humans as Nicki liked to be. This was, however, as odd for her as it was for Nicolai. She wasn’t used to going out into public in such a casual manner. Thus it was that she couldn’t help but sneer at those poking their heads out of the window. They were likely checking to see if Fear had passed yet, only to be met by a scarier sight of the only being able to control the ferocious beast.
Icy eyes turned to stare at the air man as Nicki contemplated where they could go. She knew of only a few of the places within the center of town, having never really bothered to mingle as she now realized she would be doing. A look of slight disgust slid across her face at the thought of lowering herself in such means as to mingle with mere humans. Still, perhaps if she knew better how they lived and acted on a regular basis she might better learn how to rule over them, as was her overall goal.
“Well you did mention a drink. A bar, perhaps? I’m sure there must be some here worth visiting.” What was worth visiting, of course, was all a matter of opinion. Nicki thought of something a little more brutish in nature, where a brawl was almost a given. Her grin, of course, said as much as she continued down the street, heading towards the center of town with her eyes now scowering the streets for a place that would suite her needs.

Vivian smiled and followed Seth's lead, having missed his presence while he was gone. "Thank you." she whispered, sitting easily on the edge of the bed, arranging the skirts of her gown idly, "I am going to need new clothes. My father's emissary with point me out easily with this dress on." she added, twisting the fabric in her hands as a yawn took her and her words ended in a hushed silence.

Raphael grinned, it seemed his infiltration would take more than just sneaking in and then sneaking back out. To his glee he'd be doing actual fighting for the King he now served. He shifted his stance quickly, the cotton of his garb sliding and stretching as he moved to brace for impact.
His scythe screamed through the air, twirling as a shield on front of him, "I guess I under-estimated you. Very well... it'll be worth the time." he announced to the oncoming soldier, feeling his adrenaline and lust for the fight thunder in his chest.

Seeing how Xavier started to fall, Keyla attempted to try and catch him but he landed before she could, so she was paused in mid-action, with her hands outstretched. Although as he rolled over, her hands fell and she blinked as he started to laugh a little, seemingly at her. Hearing what it was she chuckled as well. "Heh, Thanks I guess. I'm starting to wonder if you're really clear in the head though." She joked and smirked at him as she got down on her knee. She picked up a tiny first aid kit and then looked at Xavier again, waving the kit so he could see it, "So, is it okay if I try to bandage your foot?" she asked and moved down a little, so she could reach it if that proved to be okay. She thought it was already though and took a look at the wound while waiting for an answer.
Seilynn's expression was a relieved one but also a very soft one at the child's questions about the kingdom. She smiled and answered, "It is a very nice place. I've never met anyone who isn't kind in that kingdom, although, that depends on opinion I guess." She smiled and looked at Crystal. "I think you will like it. I hope you will. It's a really nice place to be, as is a few of the other kingdoms are said to be." She said and offered the child her hand to hold, if Crystal wanted to, that is. "Come on, it's this way then." She told her and nodded her head in the direction they were about to walk.
Devon yawned as she was utterly bored by now. The raven was still flying above her but was all the time keeping a watchful eye out for anything that might keep Devon from getting bored or killed for that matter. She wasn't completely unknown in this city either, although, few new her name. It seemed, many of the dark kingdom's citizen's wasn't as respectful against fire benders as they perhaps should be. Many were even arrogant beyond limits. However, very few had been stupid enough to say things out loud that would trigger Devon, so, she hadn't killed in a while. Now was one of those moments that she wished she wasn't so considerate. She still had a sense of moral which prevented her from killing without a reason of some sort. The flame she was playing with, was slowly turning blue but the heat was not affecting Devon even in the slightest. She yawned and looked around. She wasn't far from a pub, which was very noisy. Maybe there would be a fight any minute, or maybe she would be able to start a fight? Now, that would be something. Devon decided to head over to the bar and the raven flew down at settled on her shoulder as she was about to step inside.

He started to laugh and twitch as she touched his foot while looking at the wound. "Hey come on, Im ticklish!" He said inbetween his laughs. Xavier tried to settle down so she could take care of his foot. "Since we seem to have a little time on our hands here, why dont you tell me about yourself? What did you do before the war?" He propped himself up onto his elbows so he could look at her. If he was to be travelling with this woman, even if it was for a short while, he wanted to know what kind of a person she was.

Keyla chuckled, a little amused as she looked at him when he said he was ticklish. "Oh? I think I've found a weakness then. Don't worry, I'm not gonna tickle you... for now." It was just teasing, what she was doing but her face turned a little more serious as her eyes returned to the wound, although she held a small smile. She had started to clean the wound. Since he had walked on it, there was a risk of infection and it was smartest to avoid that as much as possible. She glanced at his face as he asked her to tell him about herself. She paused treating the wound for a short moment as she thought and remembered and then started speaking, at the same time treating the wound again. "What I did before the war? I lived a normal knorthian life, with my aunt and dad." She smiled at the memory of how those two always had argued about the best way to raise. Now they were both gone though, but she had learned to handle that over time. "I don't think I had any real work.. I just helped out where ever I was asked to, I guess." She smiled again, this time more towards Xavier than her memories. Slowly, she started to wrap his foot in a a light cover of bandage just over the area where the wound was. Nothing was needed. She then blinked. "Uh... where are your shoes?" she asked and looked up at him, tilting her head just a little.

Shane walked closer when Alaura said his name. "No need to ask, I was going to help you regardless of you wanting it or not." He smiled at her before kneeling low to the ground. It had been raining, so there were still many puddles on the forest floor. He raised up both arms and the puddles of water surrounding him came up. He twisted his wrists, palms up, and the water flew onto the tree. Shane formed it and froze it until it resembled makeshift stairs. He got back up and walked back over to her. "You will have to forgive me for this later..." He quickly hoisted her up onto his back and cautiously made his way up the ice stairs. She felt warm, her arms wrapped around his shoulders. He blushed slightly, but remained concentrated so as to not slip. They reached the tree house and Shane used one hand to lower the ice back to the earth as water. He walked to Alaura's bedside and lowered her down gently. He brushed a few white strands of hair out of her face as he took the flask from his side and rested it next to her hand. "Don't say anything more until your well rested." His voice was calm and sincere. He quietly left the room shutting the door behind him. He had not let on, but he too was exhausted. Taking a seat on the floor, he lay against the wall just outside her door. The lack of rest caught up to him and he quickly fell into dream.
Nicolai thought for a moment. What kind of bar? Let's see... she wouldn't like a fancy type of place, probably more of the loud and unruly kind. "How about the Rusty Blade Tavern? I heard that a few guys have been thrown through the windows before. It sounds like it would be a rather interesting place to visit."
Flint watched as the man twirled his scythe to protect him. He jumped to the side to avoid coming in contact with the blade end. While moving, he touched two fingers to the cobblestone ground that the man stood on. The water that had collected on the stone evaporated instantly as the stone glowed red hot. The attempt was to burn the man's feet so he wouldn't be able to move easily.

Crystal turned her teal gaze on Seilynn, looking to her outstretched hand. She had concidered turning down the gesture, but soon thought better of it and took the woman's hand. For Crystal the world held no roads, it was like a clean slate and she could go wherever she pleased. Thus it was that when her new friend nodded her head in a direction, it didn't really mean much to the girl. All she knew was that in the same direction as that nod lay yet another adventure just waiting to happen. For this girl everything was an adventure or game, it was simply a new place waiting to be discovered.
She didn't feel as most in her position might have. Only the slightest feeling of foreboding crept to the service, but it was soon silenced by the girl's excitement to visit new lands. She tugged on the woman's arm gently, pulling her in the direction she assumed they had to go. "C'mon, let's go." She said with a wondrous grin breaking the calm demeanor of her face. There was a sort of placid look to her expression on most occasions, as if her face were a calm lake undisturbed by the rippling a wind might cause. Seilynn's presence was like the coming of a great storm, bringing forth waves of expressions formerly unused by the child.

Alaura watched in silence from under the trees as Shane went about his business. She was thankful never to have had to actually ask for his help, but a little surprised that he was so adamant about giving it. She knew she had found a great companion in this man, though she wasn't always sure why or how it had come about. He seemed determined to be there for her, always with her when she needed him and never far if she didn't. Her eyes, tired as they might have been, seemed capable of noticing things now she had not truly seen before. For one, Shane was far stronger than she had guessed.
Throughout their short time together, Shane had grown into a rather formidable water weilder, not that he hadn't been one before. He had become a master of his element, as far as Alaura could see, and yet she guessed his talents went unnoticed by so many. Her gaze softened in silent sympathy for the unrecognized skill before her. Then again, she knew this would work in their favour. With so many people turning their attention on Alaura or perhaps on the group in general, Shane could slip under the radar as a sort of hidden weapon. His powers were growing, she could see it, and the longer their enemies went on thinking that he was not a threat, the longer they could use such ignorance to their advantage.
When Shane finally came over to her, Alaura had only the briefest moment to flash a look of confusion before she was lifted from the ground by strong arms. In her exhausted state, Alaura seemed to show more emotions than ever before. Without her stone of mask she looked like any other person, or perhaps she seemed more frail. It was in that moment, so tired and weak and with her thoughts shown clear in her eyes and on her face, that she seemed all too frail to be out there in the midst of a war. She never had been a large woman, always standing at an average height with such a slender build, yet the strength that lay within her body seemed to outweight that which she appeared to lack physically. Without that air of indifference about her, that look which shed away her feminine body and brought forth the image of a hardened warrior, Alaura was nothing more than a small woman in the heat of battle so easily broken by her enemies.
Once in the house and in her bed, Alaura looked to Shane once more. Her eyes seemed to shine with a look she had never worn before, a look of admiration. Shane was so much stronger than anyone she had ever met, yet she had never told him before for she had never noticed it before. He was strong in a way so uncommon these days. He had an inner strenght, the ability to stick by and persevere through the hardest of times without showing an ounce of pain in his eyes.
His gentle touch startled Alaura and she glanced away, her cheeks flushing a bright pink. Never had anyone touched her in such a manner, and so unused to it she was that she almost struck his hand away. Yet a part of her felt the guilty pleasure of such a gentle and kind gesture. The moment passed her by and soon she was once again surprised, though this time by the command in Shane's voice as he stubbornly told her she was not to speak until she was well rested. No none had ever spoken to her like that before. It was as if Shane had come to her to break all of the burriers that once had kept her safe within herself. When he left, her gaze fell out of the window, staring at the night sky in her silent contemplation. Confusion whirled about her, broken only by the sharp cry of Faron as he fluttered into the window and landed on his pirch in the corner of the room.
Alaura gave the softest of smiles to the bird. <"Do not worry, my friend, for I have no intention of giving in just yet. There is still far too much I have to do in this world. I simply need a good rest."> She spoke in that strange language of hers, comforting the bird into silence. Her gaze drifted from the bird to the flask that had been placed by her hand. She gripped with her weak might, holding it close until her eyes finally slid shut and she drifted into another deep sleep. Only when her body relaxed in the deep trance of sleep did her hand finally release its grip on the flask.
