Finally a picture. Too bad it was bright in the room. Ah well, new scarf. I think it is a bit too short though. Excuse the jeans, I was going casual today.

Electric_Tok ohmygoodness...I love that scarf! Did you make it?! Its so colourful and ..the word fruity comes to mind for some reason My grandmother actually knitted it for me. It's a replica of Tom Baker's forth doctor scarf.
I'll edit with a picture later when i'm not running to morning class. sweatdrop

*steals your scarf* I recognized that scarf immediately! I must say I'm quite jealous. XD Anyways, here's me in some of my stuff: I got amazingly luck at the Salvation Army store one day and got a bunch of awesome cheap stuff. Including a totally amazing brown tie with gold gear-type designs on it. surprised This isn't nearly complete yet. I must stop being lazy and actually work on it. So many awesome costumes on here!

Agent Ginrei So many awesome costumes on here! Says the one who just posted one of my favourites so far... xp That's one incredible jacket, and the tie really is one great find! It's a shame we don't have Salvation Army over here - the next best thing would be our barter shops, and you really have to be INCREDIBLY lucky to find anything good there.

Thought I would throw my two cents into this... sadly the shirt I was going to wear is in the washing. As you can see I still need to do some work on the coat and the goggles(which I'm bronzing the metal bits of now). And I'm going to add some faux leather to create a nose bridge later.

Tis just an old one revamped; care to take a look: [x]Everything was done on Paint and Photoshop, so sorry if the alignment wasn't too great. sweatdrop

Drew Zoe: Why settle for faux leather? lots of towns will have a tack shop where they make horse's saddles and things like that, and they usually have bags of leather scraps around for dirt cheap!
I have found tack shops are the best places for little brass buckles and rings and things of that nature (They practically know my name now)

I'll be going to Wondercon this weekend in full steampunk gear! My character is the daughter of a rich coal baron, since I tend to dress in a more aristocratic fashion rather than a grimy, sooty way. Pictures coming soon!

I'll have go to the flea market sometime now. lol Sadly, I don't know how to sew all too much just yet, but my mom or dad can teach me, since they used to do it professionally. Does it take any kind of special materials to sew leather? @ Antlers: Can't wait! mrgreen

I dont know what they are called. http://toolmonger.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/speedystitcher.jpg There^ That lovely thing. Its an Awl, and that is the exact one I own, and it is lovely~ probably one of the most useful things to have in a crafting box, especially for steamy type projects~ beware of the needle though! it is very very sharp

Youre all awesome. Seriously. Im now sat here racking my brains as to what i have in my wardrobe thats remotely steampunkish so i can get in on the photo action. Im new to this and could do with advice i have long brown trench coat lace scarf black ruffled blouse longline brown/grey tweed waistcoat full lengh black skirt with white petticoat (think victorian maid!) clunky black biker/work boots with buckles or dainty heeled with buckle strap fingerless gloves
no hat or goggly things though sad sound about right? I'll try it all on a post it when theres anyone around to take the picture.
