"Alright. Let's go up to the stage, and I'll call them up. We can see if they're still in here or not." The headmistress smiled and nudged Alwyn to the front of the room. She let the girl stay off the stage so she wouldn't be even more nervous, and one of the staff handed her the microphone. "Would Riley Langston and Harmony Canaan please come up here? Alwyn's looking for you two." she called out, scanning the mass of students talking to each other, or leaving. She handed the microphone back over to the staff member and went to stand with Alwyn.
"Once you meet your team mates, you should get to know them so you don't have to wander around alone." She smiled at Alwyn, resting her hand on her shoulder comfortingly. "It'd be good to know them, anyways, being your team mates and all."

Lite had been playing with Bear for the duration of the assembly, and when Sam had addressed him, Lite responded with a look of confusion. "What are you talking about, man? We've been divided into teams? Radical! I wonder who my teammates are," Lite questioned, "Bear, do you know?" The gecko stared at Lite like he was a moron, to which Lite returned the favor in saying "Woah, that's deep man. How do you keep coming up with these awesome theories!?" Lite looked around, observing everyone then turning to Sam again. "Dude, if we get to pick our partners we should totally pair up, and Bear here can be our mascot! That would be like totally awesome! Woah, do you have any food?" Lite took out his pack of cigarettes, forgetting he was indoors, and put one behind his ear for when he was ready for it. "This will be the most awesome year here ever." Looking around, he could see some familiar faces, one of which he remembered fondly. "Matt! MATT! Over here man! Dude it's been like forever, man!" Lite shouted across the auditorium hoping to get his attention.

Sam sighed, still smiling. "Lite..." he said, "your teammates are Aya and I. You weren't even listening to the Headmistress, were you?" His smile shifted to a hearty grin. "But, it's nice to know that you would want me as a teammate! And, as for Bear, he'll make a great mascot, especially if we call ourselves Team Gecko!" He turned to Aya. "What do you think, hon?"

Mal found his way to the auditorium and looked around. The crowd was mobbing every which way, everybody looking for someone else. "This someone's looking for you," he heard someone say. "Matt!" called another. In the heaving throb of people, he saw very few that looked different. When he'd heard of Pacis Salus, he'd imagined a place filled with humans, mutants, and beasts. He expected that there would be more people with inhuman features. Pulling his collar closer to his face, he started towards the door. Maybe this wasn't the place for him after all. Brushing past several people who seemed to know each other, Mal took one last look into the auditorium before reaching for the handle on the door.

"Blei" Sergey said through gritted teeth as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his large coat, his room door swinging shut behind him. He carefully made his way down the stairs, not wanting to trip and fall on his face. With his luck all of those gods forsaken little children would come running back in from the auditorium the minute he landed and he would be trampled beneath there feet. He frowned and swore again, muttering darkly under his breath.
True he had promised them that he would go to the school and try to grow, he wanted to be useful to them when he got back. He shoved open the door forcefully and strode out into the sun. He looked over to where he knew the helipad to be as he could hear the rotors from one of the helicopters dieing down. His frown deepened. At least he was not the only one who had missed that apparently 'super important' orientation meeting. He would find out later what the big deal had been about. His bird legs carried him across the path so he could see the person who was coming off away from the helicopters. Nondescript, seemed to be hiding himself from people's prying eyes. Not that it would matter much, he though, everyone here was a freak of nature, how can you be a freak among freaks?
Sergey watched as the kid went into the cafeteria and then up into the auditorium. Sergey followed after him up the stairs. He needed something to take out a bit of his frustrations on and so when they finally did connect as the guy had turned to exit right back out of the auditorium he bumped the other kid with his shoulder. He looked over at him and sneered, his voice spilling out with a heavy Russian accent. "Are you alright, comrade? Maybe you should be watch where you are going."

Mal stopped and turned to face the source of the Russian accent. "Com-" he began, but stopped. The man in front of him was around six feet tall with yellow eyes and feathers. Mal opened his mouth to speak but managed nothing. He still wore his hat and shades and his coat was pulled up as close to his face as possible. With any luck, nobody would see his face at all. "I'm so sorry," he finally muttered. "I didn't see you there."

A predatory grin spread across Sergey's face, this kid was gawking at him.GAWKING. To Sergey it was extremely amusing as a dark chuckle rumbled up from his chest. "I would think it hard to miss a six foot bird-man, but I could be wrong. And it is not polite to stare leetle one." Sergey's attention turned away from the kid he had purposefully bumped into and out into the crowd. People were trying to find each other, he wondered why. "Hey comrade, do you know what happened in de meeting? I seemed to have meesed it." His voice was excessively harsh as he took a step back into the hallway entrance to the auditorium a heavy frown seemingly plastered on his face. He did not need those children gawking at his feathers.

Mal managed to gather himself and turned to look into the auditorium. "I don't know," he said. "I got here late, too." Mal glanced around and then back to the bird-man. "I'm sorry I stared," he said. For a moment, he regarded him. For a tall guy, it was obvious he could stand taller. Walking around, what could only be identified as his knees were bent, almost as if he were crouching. Returning his mind to the subject at hand, he spoke again. "I'm not used to seeing strange-looking people." To himself he added, "Though I'm sure not many people are." Continuing to speak to the bird-man, he said, "I just wasn't expecting to see anyone that looked so..." He paused, searching for the right word. "Different," he finally said. Holding the door open for them both to look through, Mal sighed. "They all look so normal," he said so only he and the Russian could hear. He sighed, then blinked and held out his other hand. "Malcolm Tiberius," he said. "Or Mal if you want."

Sergey gave another snort as well as a shake of his head. "Deefferent is understatement I vould thenk," he said gruffly and when he mentioned about the other students looking so normal he merely gave a nod her dark mood growing even darker if it was possible. "They are the loocky ones." He looked over at the other male as he introduced himself as 'Mal'. He reached out and shook the young man's hand "Sergey Petrov," he said without smiling "Eet is pleasure meeting you."
Apparently one of the staff members had seen there late entrance and had made it to them in time to hear the introductions. He walked up to them and waved a greeting "Ah hello there, you boys just missed team assignments though you two seem to be fairly lucky at this point. You two as well as one Rozen Nihlus are on a team together! You boys should work on finding him so that you all can come up with a name for you group." the older gentlemen gave them a wink before turning around and heading off to bother some other students. Sergey looked over at Mal with a raised eyebrow and smiling twitching up the corner of his mouth. "Look like we are going to be comrades after all."

The words of the teacher echoed over and over in Mal's head for a moment. "Teams?" he said. "We have to choose a team name?" Turning to Sergey, he half-snorted in disbelief. "What are we, superheroes?" Sighing, he put his hand to his forehead and rubbed the muscles under his hat. One good thing about his disposition was that it made massages much easier to appreciate. "We should find this Rozen guy," he said. "Then come up with a name." With a breath of disbelief, he walked into the auditorium. "How do you like The Freaks?" he asked behind him as he searched the crowd. After a second, he stopped and laughed to himself, then turned back to Sergey. "I just realized I don't know what he looks like," he said.

Sergey chuckled again, a little more sincerely this time. "The Freaks? I theenk et would feet for the two of us, but what of the other comrade we are meessing?" Sergey raised an eyebrow at Mal as he just stood in the doorway leaning against the jam and crossed his legs at the feet. It looked rather comical of him to do this with his hands shoved into the depths of the pockets of his overly large black coat but by the look that was given to some of the other students who laughed at him it would be unwise to do the same. Another smirk lit across his face "And I do? For all ve know he not even here."

Rozen had already put his iPod headphones back in, listening to music, he continued eating, nearly finished with his food, he had heard loud commotion coming from upstairs, which lead him to listen to music. His head bobbed as he ate, wondering if he could get a little more food before he had to leave, but he knew no one was in the cafeteria with him, so he just sat there, and sighed, listening to music, as he popped the last peice of pizza crust in his mouth.
