Aras stuck her coloured tongue out at her sister, but then she giggled along with her.
"Well the taste is going away," she laughed, "but I think I'll let everyone else paint. I can watch instead, then I can see all the pretty pictures that everyone else is making!"
She wasn't bothered in the least by the idea. On the contrary, her eyes were shining as she set her brush aside and clasped her hands behind her back to do just what she suggested.
Ruque smiled broadly up at Niyana and dipped his brush into the green paint.
"Don't look until I'm done, okay Mama?" he requested quietly, his eyes sparkling mischievously.
Idhril watched curiously as Ruran began to paint on himself, but his hand was tilted away from her and she could see what he was doing.
"What are you putting on yourself?" she asked him curiously, craning her neck to try and see.
She turned her golden eyes to Joruri and smiled softly at him. "It's all right," she told him warmly, taking his hand again and squeezing it reassuringly. "Not everyone is good at everything. I can teach you if you want, sometime ..."
She looked over at the rest of her family. They all seemed busy ... well, Celebor wasn't, perhaps she would paint him next.

Kanis giggled and nods turning to start painting on a leaf. It was odd but she enjoyed seeing the colored lines.
Niyana nods and shuts her eyes. "Alright I wont look until you say so dear." She laughed warmly and knelt still, listening to those around her.
Ruran turns and smiles brightly at Idhril, "I painted the key to your heart Aunt Idhril." He held up his hand for her to see.
Then as she looked away he smirked at the doll and stood.
Joruri blushed, "Please do not trouble yourself mistress Idrhil...though Joruri would like to learn to read....one day."
He watched her looking around and smiled warmly at her. She was so beautiful and thoughtful, carring and warm. He must have done something right to be gifted with a master like this young girl...and she didn't even treat him like a doll...she treated him as if he were real.

Aras peered over Kanis's shoulder, trying not to look too closely so that she wouldn't bother her.
"What are you making?" she asked with a smile.
Ruque's smile widened, and he knelt and began to paint on the back of his mother's hand. He painted thin green lines, tendrils of ivy, that overlapped and underlapped each other, twisting around each other from her wrist and all over the back of her hand. His tongue stuck out of one corner of his mouth as he worked, walking around his mother's hand to be able to reach the areas that he needed.
Finally he stopped just in front of her fingers and tried to lift her middle finger.
"Can you hold this one up, Mama?" he asked, tugging on her finger. "But don't look yet!"
Idhril giggled at Ruran and smiled brightly. "Aw, that's so sweet," she said brightly.
She smiled warmly at Joruri. "Then I will teach you to read," she told him matter-of-factly. "Whenever I can." She giggled and grabbed his arm, hugging him tightly. She couldn't imagine being without him now, even though she had only been with him for a short period of time. He was already so much a part of her life, of her.

Kanis smiled and leaned back showing the bunch of squiggles and lines. "I don't know what it was suppose to be...but I think it is done." she giggled more and hugged her sister.
Niyana felt her son's smooth near flawless strokes her mind trying to paint the picture he was working on along her flesh. When asked her to lift she moved her hand, "Is this too high?"
Ruran smiled, "I am glad you like it Aunt." he looked her over when she hugged the doll. His eyes focused on her legs and how the shirt moved.
Joruri saw the way Ruran was looking at Idhril and as she hugged him he pulled her into his arms holding her close. "Mistress is too kind. And after she paints her family she can paint Joruri?"

Aras giggled and hugged Kanis back. "Well, whatever it is," she grinned, "it's pretty."
She let go of her sister and held out her hand, palm down. "Will you put it on my hand?"
Ruque grinned and nodded, and once he realized that his mother couldn't see - since he had told her not to look - he said, "That's good, Mama!"
And he started to paint again, spreading her fingers so that he could paint all the way around her middle finger, a ring of twined ivy.
"Don't move!" he told her again, running and putting black paint on the brush now instead of green - and he rushed back to outline the tendrils so that they would be more three-dimensional, so that it would be obvious so that they were twirling around each other instead of just flat.
"Okay, put it down again," he told her, stepping back so that he could finish up the top of her hand and wrist.
Idhril was surprised by Joruri's actions, but she curled up against him and smiled warmly. "Of course," she told him softly, laying her head against his shoulder. "Is there anything in particular you would like me to paint on you?"

Kanis felt her cheeks flush a little at her sister's praise and request. "Only if you will try to paint once more on mine." she said warmly and giggled.
Niyana smiled do what her son said he was really into this and from the feel of her hand and skin he had a talent with it.
She concentrated on the feel of the brush over her skin, her mind moving back to Celebor's first painting of her, how feather soft it was. He had been so nervous but Ruque's strokes though feather soft were full of meaning and purpose.
"Your doing a great job Ruque...I can not see what your doing but your strokes are near perfect and wonder." She praised her son.
Joruri loved the feel of his mistress in his arms and how she seemed so comfortable there. He would always protect her and even when she grew too big to curl up in his arms he would still be there to cradle her against him.
"A cricket?" he asked softly hoping it was not too much to ask.

Aras blushed embarrassedly but she nodded. "I'll try not to make too much of a mess," she giggled, sitting down so that she could rest her hand on her knee and keep it steady for her sister to work. After all, if she moved around too much then her sister wouldn't be able to do a good job on her!
Ruque blushed but his eyes sparkled excitedly as he finished up his painting. In the tendrils, he had copied the markings that ran down Niyana's nose, so that her name was in elvish on her hand as well, even though the boy didn't know it.
"All done," he said softly, shyly, yet proudly, as he stepped back and held the brush up, saluting her like a soldier. "I hope you like it, Mama."
Idhril's thoughts immediately turned to the cricket Joruri had found in the cave and been so fearful that he might have to kill it, and she smiled and nodded at him, slowly crawling off of his lap again.
"I don't know if I can do a very good job," she smiled regretfully, "since it's not really abstract ... but I'll do my very best, I promise!"
She knelt in front of him and reached for her brush once more. "Where would you like it?" she asked him brightly.

Kanis laughed, “The messier the better. I don’t mind really it is the fact that you did it for me that matters.” She smiled warmly and hugged her sister before she picked up a brush and trying hard not to get it on her sister’s clothes she started to draw random colored lines across her skin.
Niyana nods, “Can I open my eyes now?” She laughed and slowly opened her eyes. She gave a gasp as she saw the skill of her son’s work on her hands. It seemed one of her children had gotten something from her. She blushed and was speechless for a moment, “Ruque…it is so beautiful….” She picked up her hand and looked at it how it wrapped around and she saw the Elvien letter. “You even wrote…my dear boy you did so wonderful.” She picked him up and carefully but warmly hugged her son to her breasts.
Joruri shook his head, “It can be an abstract cricket….it doesn’t even have to look like one.” He blushed as was worried that maybe he had upset her with his words he looked at her sadly then down at the ground.
“My body is your canvas mistress….you can paint where ever you wish….any time.” He looked up at her shyly.

Aras giggled a bit and watched Kanis as she started painting on her.
"Such pretty colours," she said brightly. "So much fun!"
She couldn't wait until it was her turn now that she knew it didn't matter if she couldn't paint a real picture.
Ruque squealed a bit as his mother picked him up and held him close, and then he blushed and stretched out his arms to hug her as well as he could.
"I did?" he asked sheepishly. "I just copied what's on your nose ... how did you get that there, Mama? Did you put it there yourself?"
Idhril smiled widely at him, her eyes shining brightly. "I'll do my best, Joruri," she promised him happily.
She crawled forward to sit next to him again, cuddling against his side and pulling his arm around her.
"I'll put it on the back of your hand, okay?" she grinned at him, placing his hand on her knee and crossing her ankles so that she could balance better.

Kanis giggled more at her sister’s enjoyment and then she set her brush down, “Okay all done…see nothing special!” she laughed and held out her hand then set it on her own knee. “My turn my turn!”
Niyana shook her head, “Nope I do not know that language but your father painted it on me. He told me it was his name though. You do have a great talent Ruque. I am so very proud.”
Joruri nodded and his body heated with life as she pulled his arm around her and placed it on her small knee. “Yes….m…mistress.” He could feel the heat of her dark skin under the thin layer of clothes and he hated himself for the images his old masters put into his head. He looked away watching the family instead of her working on him.
She might be the best thing for him…a gift from heaven and the goddesses themselves but he was the worst thing for her. He was not ment to be with one so kind.

Aras beamed at her sister. "Of course it's special!" she said brightly. "You painted it!"
She giggled and waved her hand around for a few seconds to dry it a bit, then picked up the brush that Kanis had dropped. "Okay ... let me think," she murmured.
She picked a random colour and started to paint on the back of her sister's hand. Kanis had given her stripes - she would give her spots! And she started adding random dots here and there in different colours to the back of Kanis's hand.
Ruque giggled. "Neat," he said warmly. He looked at her hand from where he lay with his head against his mother's chest. It did look pretty neat, he had to admit. He had no idea where it had come from ... he'd just had an idea and gone with it.
"Can you paint on me now?" he asked, lifting his head and looking up at Niyana eagerly.
Idhril stared at the back of Joruri's hand for a moment thoughtfully, trying to imagine how she could do this without making it look too awful. Perhaps a skeleton would be best ... or something similar ...
She began to paint in slow, even strokes: the round head, the oval body, wings sticking out slightly, legs bent ... yes, it was turning out all right. She didn't mind this. Perhaps it was her determination to make Joruri happy that was guiding her brush: but this, she knew, was the best painting she had ever done, the only one that had ever turned out looking exactly as it was supposed to.
She nudged his cuff out of the way so that she wouldn't get any paint on it, and her eyes grew wide as she saw the marks around his wrist. She stopped painting, holding her brush slightly in the air so that she wouldn't mess up the painting now, and stared.
"Um ... Joruri ..." she murmured softly, looking up at him, her golden eyes filled with worry. "Did ... something happen?"

Kanis blushed and nods, "Then yours shall be just as good!" she laughed warmly and tried not to move as her sister painted her.
Niyana nods, "I would love to place something on you my dear...I will give you something I have not given anyone." She set him down and smiled, "Shall I put it on your back for chest?"
Joruri turned his eyes to his mistress as she stopped the brush. He was about to ask if she was finished when he saw the cuff was lifted a bit and her soft words touched him.
He sighed and looked at the ground, "An hold master of Joruri's marks...they do not hurt much mistress." He said gently then looked at her his other hand moving to stroke her hair, "Don't worry mistress."

Aras grinned and kept dabbing spots of paint on the back of Kanis's hand - but then a mischievous glint appeared in her eye and she reached up and put one spot on Kanis's cheek, below her eye.
"Got you!" she squealed. Then she held out the brush. "Get me!" she urged her.
Ruque grinned up at Niyana and unclasped his cloak, dropping it to the ground, and then he shrugged out of his shirt.
"On my front!" he grinned, sitting down, "so that way I can see it! Because if you put it on my back, then I can't see it even if it's really special!"
Idhril looked up at Joruri and smiled faintly, then leaned forward and kissed his wrist gently.
"I'll make you better someday," she promised, smiling up at him.
She finished off the cricket and leaned back into Joruri's arms. "Finished," she said brightly.

Kanis smiled watching her sister. She was so nice. "You are making it look so good...YIP!" she gasped in shock then smiling nods an picked a pretty purple shade and dotted her sister under her left eye. "There you are your so beautiful!"
Niyana watched him undress and smiled. He looked so handsome. "Alright then on your chest it shall be. She looked over him and tried to think of the prefect thing for her. Something soft yet strong.
Joruri felt his body respond to the soft kiss to his wrist and his flushing cheeks deepened. He was so bad for her and she was far to kind. He felt a weight in his chest as her promise, it was so soft and beautiful in his ears. He wanted to cry and hold her to him.
When she finished he smiled and brought his hand up around her pulling her close as he looked at it, "It is beautiful mistress Joruri...so beautiful!"

Aras giggled and touched her finger to the spot under her eye, leaving half a finger print over the purple paint.
"Very nice!" she agreed cheerfully. "Now we can be beautiful together!"
She grinned mischievously. "Let's get Daddy!" she encouraged her sister. "Well we should ask him first ... let's ask Daddy if we can get him too!"
Ruque grinned. "Should I sit or lay down?" he asked. "If I lay down it will be easier for you, I think, right?"
Idhril giggled and squeezed one arm free, slipping it around him and hugging him tightly. "I think it's the best one I've done ever!" she told him enthusiastically. "Special for you! Just like you!"
