:::the smile lingered as he put his lips to her head. Maybe it DID mean thank you, afterall:::

You're welcome... :::She whispered, holding him a little tighter:::

*Alex just held Cora close to him, basking in her warmth, her softness*

:::She realized shortly that Cora would be happy if she could stay there, this way...she found herself forgetting again what it was they were all so sad about a moment ago. Was it dangerous to be this comfortable? But even that thought ran its course as soon as she took another breath of Alex's clothes::::

I.......

*Alex stopped himself short, not sure if he should finish verbalizing his thought*

:::Cora waited for Alex to finish, but when he didn't continue she looked up:::

Yes...Alex?

... I would stay with you forever, in The Brink... If I had a choice. I would give up the life I have to be with you. The time I now call my own.. If I could stay with you.

:::Cora was quiet for a moment. She thought about all the sorts of things that would mean. She knew it was not possible, and at no moment did she even hope it could be true Perhaps it was alright for herself, but she didn't think she could wish that sort of thing on anyone else:::

It's so kind of you...to say that. Alex... Thank you so much. You've done so much for me... in what feels like so little time.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 18, 2005 4:19 pm

That's very true. You haven't had the time that I've had to think about it. But I know that what I feel. And if I could do more to show you how I feel, I would, and in time I will...

Then I can't wait...

:::She sighed deeply into his shirt:::

Should we finish up dinner? The main course is ready, Cora. Then we can sit by the fire, with some wine?

:::Another quick sigh, and she nodded, getting up slowly and brushing herself off out of habbit. She returned to her seat and waited to see what he had in store next:::

*Alex sniffed quickly and took a deep breath, then jumped up and fairly ran to the kitchen, he returned with a loaf of fresh warm thick sliced bread, a pot, and two bowls*

Blarney Stone Bread, and Cheese Apple Soup!

*Alex ladled a bowl of soup for them both and some of the bread*

Be careful, the soup is still quite hot.

:::She looked at him, a smirk coming to her face again:::

It would have to be for someone like me to need to use caution...

:::She thought it was strange that people made food they needed to be careful with while consuming:::

:::Cora waited for Alex to sit down as well, and to get a good look at how he approached eating these dishes:::

*Alex took a bite of the bread, then took a spoonful of the soup. He blowed on it gently, to cool it off, then ate it. He looked at Cora*

What? Is something wrong?

Hm? Oh no... I was just waiting for you.

:::And Cora picked up the bread with her hands as he did, to take a bite:::

Mmm... :::She exclaimed chewing. To her, the bread was quite tasty, she then picked up the spoon, what she'd used to pick up the fruit salad before. This was...much more liquid-like than the salad was though.

She dipped it into the bowl, and balanced it so that it would stay level as she brought it to her mouth. She'd forgotten about the 'blowing' gesture to cool it, but that didn't seem to be a problem.

Cora could tell the soup was hot, but it had not managed to burn her:::

Hm..

:::She needed another spoonful to decide if she like this one:::
