Lin grinned, "Well those two over there are Storm and Starr and these two boys over here are Shiro and Ura."

Now that she thought about it there was a lot of people whom Amdir hadn't met yet.

"There are a lot more people inside the house too."

"Please!" Adan said eagerly, scrambling to his feet. "Maybe once I learn how to talk like Tao then I can ask her to go to the ground or something to make it easier, but that might take a while."

He held his arms up for Ryu to help him up onto the griffin's back.

"I've never been able to talk to a griffin before."



Aliya smiled and moved to the side of the doorway, letting in a little more light. "Well, we've always known that time passes far more quickly here than in your world," she murmured. "How long have you known me? I've known you for over ten years already. Adan's already seven years old, he wasn't born until three years after you and I met. The worlds work in mysterious ways, and I doubt even Aragost would be able to explain it."

She cocked her head towards the door. "Come on, we can talk in the living room, it's more comfortable ... and lighter."



"Hello," Amdir grinned at the four new children. "It's nice to meet all of you as well."

He noticed that Shiro's expression was slightly different from the others, and he couldn't help but wonder what it was.

"So, taking them on a tour?" he asked Lin, deciding not to ask about what might end up being a sensative topic.

Lin looked thoughtful, "Storm and Starr, yes, I told them I would show them around, but I think... that Shiro, Ura and Arwen was going to find you to meet Elnara-sissy and Lore."

At least that is what she got from Shiro.

As soon as Adan was placed on Tao's back, he could feel the way that she would move beneath his legs. Growing up the way he had, with an affinity for animals and working woth horses, he had probably more insight into the creatures he came into contact with than most others.

"Ooohhhh," he breathed blissfully, stroking the back of Tao's head and neck, "I'm gonna like this."


Alyse followed after Aliya and Feng, sitting in front of the fireplace and playing with her glowstone as Aliya took a seat.

"Oh, Feng," Aliya grinned suddenly. "You wanted to hold Adonijah, didn't you? This is probably the best time, he won't be awake and quiet for long. Comeon, sit here beside me." And she nodded at the couch next to where she was sitting.



Amdir chuckled softly at Shiro. "You talk like Adan does," he grinned. "Well, you can go tell the others that I'll be inside in a few minutes, all right? I just have to cool down this horse and return her to the stables, and then I'll be right there."

Now that Lin thought about it, Shiro did, but Shiro actually knew Japanese which was a great difference. She turned back to Storm and Starr now that Amdir was going to finish up with the horse.

"Do you want a quick peek into the stables? Just a look though, otherwise Elberon is going to keep us there for a while."

"If you're looking for Serenity," Amdir interrupted the children, "she's out with Elros, though they should be back at any time. It's nearly time for the shifts to change, they'll be back at the barracks in a few minutes, I'm sure."



Adan grinned at Tao and cooed right back at her, mimicking the sound she had made exactly. He understood that it conveyed contentment, and he wanted her to know that he was happy, too.



"Careful," Aliya murmured, smiling brightly as she turned to hand her youngest son over to Feng. "You have to be insanely careful with newborns ... Mum was probably right to worry about me taking him outside already. At a week, I was still in bedrest with the other kids."

She set Adonijah carefully in Feng's arms, laughing softly.

"Oh...." Lin blinked.

Well then, it was a good thing she had suggested to stay on the Ranch, looking for her would have taken them off of it.

"Then I guess we can head back now and wait for them if we're early," she replied, "Thanks Amdir."
