Shisei was going to retrieve the deer, but Karite had already gone ahead and was now walking back with his staff and carcass. Kore was going to find Orika’s club so that left another job out of the way. The reaper began to take command giving whoever heard orders of what to do. It wasn’t a bad idea to use vines to carry the prey. They’d probably all have to lug it together for that many of carcasses to move. Regardless of what they did it would be a workout.
The silent snake decided to let the reaper take lead and form an idea for the movement of the animal cadavers. He had some other quick planning to do before returning to the grounds. “You two begin with the vines. I’ll be right back.” his voice stated as he picked up the gold fan and closed it. The large instrument had a strap that the serpent youth used to place across his shoulder to his waist. His fingers also retrieved the makeshift stake. What the other two wanted to do with their weapons were up to them. As for him he would have to ditch his in a safe location until a later time. No doubt people would question how three hurt children brought down two boars and three deer that greatly outweigh them. The puncture and stab wounds would also raise questions. That was the reason her needed to keep that wooden dagger. It was their alibi.
The other reason was that the serpent youth wanted to try and rid himself of some of that disgusting red liquid upon his frame. There had to be some pond puddle nearby he could use to wash his face.

The first thing Batsu felt as he jumped was the bramble clawing at his feathers. Batsu was a lot of things but tolerant of mussy feathers was not one of them. Despite this set back, he pressed on. He reached as far into the bush as he could. The next thing he felt was a familiar soft cloth. That was definitely the wrapping for his lunch. Some would give up here but this was just as much about revenge as it was about getting the stolen item back. He would punish the thief. There was no doubt in Batsu's mind about this. As he continued to reach he felt something else but only briefly. The most important thing was what he heard. The flapping of wings right after something brushed past him. After less than a moment of contemplation he dived back out of the bush, leaving his lunch behind. He would come back to it but this was much more important. As soon as he was out of the bush he could see the bird flying away. With thoughts of nothing but retribution, Batsu was in the air. The bird had made a grave mistake when he challenged Batsu to an aerial race.

Orika wrinkled her nose at Karite. She didn't understand an iota of what he just said and though she probably could have figured it out given some time, the message was probably not worth the effort. All she could gleam from his long winded rant was the fact that the boy didn't want to die. What did that mean? Orika tapped her fingers on her thigh, deep in thought as her breathing slowed from the excitement of the hunt. Karite seemed fairly beat up, but by no means was he close to death. Had coming even semi close to death twice in such a short amount of time weakened his will? If that was true, then he shouldn't be a shinobi. Orika kept her head down, contemplating the lion boy's words as she made her way to the vines. She started stripping them and draping the tangled branches wherever they would look natural. After a while, she caught Karite's eyes, took a breath, and asked very simply, "Why are you suddenly so preoccupied with death? We're still young and have our whole lives ahead of us. Even if what we do brings us closer to that day, there's no use worrying about dying and ruining life." Orika gripped a vine in her hands so hard her knuckles showed white. She wrapped it around a tree trunk and set the remaining half on the forest floor. Even dragging the deer with vines would prove too much work, especially for three already wounded students. They needed to use wheels... perhaps by taking fallen logs and building a sort of cart.

Karite dragged the deer into the trap and set it next to the other two. As he did Orika wasted no time in asking him what happened. He sat down with the staff in hand. "Orika, I almost died today for a second time. I had no clue what happened. The hunt was going good and then towering over me was the deer. i panicked, his hoof was about to impale my skull. I grabbed the staff and at the last second the staff pierced the deers heart. I sat there eyes wide afraid that everything I have worked for and everyone I have come to care for might just vanish like that. In this line of work we could die any day and I am ok with that fact Orika. Its not death I am afraid its dieing by a damn deer. It dieing from a fight with a loved one. If I die anytime soon it is out there." Karite said standing raising hand deep into the forest. "If I die I will die fighting for this place, for you, for Kore, for Maya. I will not die hunting a damn deer. If I die on this island it better be a damn good reason." Dropping to his knees Karite looked into the ground. "If I die so easily then everything was worthless. I don't deserve to train as a shinobi." Looking into her eyes Karite stood and smiled. "But I am still here and with every passing day I will work harder and longer then any other shinobi on this island. I will make sure when I die its from old age and nothing more." Karite smiled and gave Orika a thumbs up. "Lets get to work, we need to get out of here before the sunsets."

"What does it matter whether you die by a deer or in war?" Orika asked, perplexed by Karite's distinction of the two, "Either way you were too weak or just unlucky enough to encounter death. Plus, you're dead. It's not like the spirit world differentiates between how you died." She shrugged her shoulders and finished taking down the vines. The farm girl wondered where Shisei was; She hadn't really been listening had he said where he was going. Orika nodded when Karite mentioned getting out of the forest before dusk. She look at the setting sun and guessed that they had about an hour and a half before the world went dark. Her brain was already working, eyes looking back and forth from the deer and the boars. Deer and boars... Boars and deer. Holy crap, they forget about the rabbits! Orika glanced worriedly at Karite and spoke up, "We need to hunt 6 rabbits or Maya will be pissed. But let's build the cart while there's some light left. We can petrify rabbits easily in the dark. Okay, so we need about a dozen sturdy logs. We'll bind them together with these vines. I'll cut notches in the end logs to hold vines in place. Then, all we have to do is roll the animals out. It'll be easy!" Orika clapped her hands together and grinned from cheek to cheek. She was exhausted, but that made the day feel like they had accomplished quite a bit. "It'll be easier to bind everything together if we get the logs on water. They float, you see, so we can just slip the vines underneath and adjust as we wish."

“That should do it.” the sly serpent thought to himself. It was a nice hiding spot for both the smoke grenade and the fan. He’d have to leave it there until the entire weapons fiasco blew over. That or if his feet were silent enough at night the child Orochi could sneak out and get some solitary training with the weapons. That would be perfect for now. Although there was still a way his fingers could get a bit of training. While doing his best to wash away the blood from his stained skin in an icy puddle and idea came to him. The gold eyes searched around the area and then looked back to the tree in which he almost had a life threatening fall. It was about the same place. Earlier the snake child remembered seeing some cotton tailed, white little rodents running about. His hand had broken another small limb from a tree and used his other stake to scrape it down into another menacing sharp object. This one not as thick as the first, but slightly lighter. Within Shisei’s hands just as deadly. It was time for the serpent youth to get some more target practice in.

((Like your Idea Katz I am going to have to do the same thing with the knuckles. I am sending Kore to hunt. Karite's going to build))
"Kore, I need you to do what you do best little buddy." Karite picked up the knuckles and pretended to put them back in his pants but slipped them to Kore. He began to whisper in his ear softly instructions to hide the knuckles and then to go hunt for rabbits. Standing and sending the cub off to do a job the boy turned to Orika with his carefree smile back on his face like a blazing sun. "So how do you propose we get these logs cause your more banged up then you admit and I may be strong but not as strong as I should be." Karite was fine with admitting that he need to work on his body more then his agility. His staff skills where starting to get impressive for being new to the weapon but even so he was still new to that as well and the knuckles where interesting and he would learn to handle them and it would help his hand to hand combat.

Kore listen as Karite instructed on him on what to do next. Grabbing the weapons the cub shot of into the forest and found a bush further into the darkening woods and laid the metal into a safe covered area. Licking his lip the cub heard something light. Twitching his ears the cub tried to focus on the sound. The hare was coming from the east and would more then likely cross the cubs path. Sinking back into the brush the cub waited. He sunk low to the ground and dug his heels in. As he saw the white hare cross his path he waited patiently till it was in perfect position. licking his ash black lips the cub tightened up and ripped through the brush jumping on the hair sinking in its teeth perfectly. Swinging the rabbit around he felt the neck snap on his tongue. Dropping the rabbit the cub made sure it was dead. Picking it up he ran towards the trap and dropped the first rabbit at Karite's feet. Turning he went off again to get another.

The serpent youth had quietly perched behind a tree peering at his first victim. A nice little cotton tail huddled within its fur. It seemed as if it was trying to nibble on the snowy grass. While Shisei did not know much about hunting, he had heard hunters in the past talking about hunts. It was during his time as a wanderer where his frame was led to aid in pulling the dead animals from a cart once the hunters returned. His brain could not remember everything they said about hunting for it was long ago and the snake youth didn’t think he would be hunting on a daily basis. One thing that stuck with him though was a few facts about rabbits. Easiest way to aid in hunting winter rabbits is with a beagle. There were none of those around so the snake wanderer had to think of another fact that could help him. There was that other fact that would be of good help. Bunnies tended to be motionless during the winter unless forced to move. If the sly serpent could get a good shot with one of his tools then he wouldn’t need to chase after them. Chasing should be left to the experts. The Orochi had to try and use his wits.
His frame darted from behind the three and flung both stakes as if they were well crafted weapons. Although their aim was a bit off. The snake was aiming for a head shot, but both items struck a front and rear leg of the creature. The little rabbit gave a small squeak as it tried to run away. Shisei approached a little disappointed in his aim. Well if he did hit it in the skull that might have made the even a bit messier. The snake approached the rabbit.

"Well, you're more injured than me!" Orika retorted, then bit her lip as she realized that she just supported Karite's claim that they couldn't obtain the logs. Well, they couldn't by regular means, but it was winter, right? "Of course we can!" Orika exclaimed, motioning for Karite to follow her as she limped further into the forest. She grabbed her crutches and then sped off to find that meadow she'd kill the deer in earlier. When they arrived, Orika spun around and pointed to the numerous trees lying conveniently on the forest floor. "See, when it's winter, the trees lose their moisture and dry up so we won't have to worry about water weight. Makes the logs real light and no trouble to carry. Here, you take those 6 and I'll grab these over here. There's a river down that way a little bit and I think it's wide enough for our cart." Orika bent and lifted two logs onto her shoulders and packmuled it to the river, where she dumped the fallen trees in the water. It was weird that there were so many free logs lying about, but then the girl remembered the winter storm they had. Those horrible gusts must have knocked down enough trees for them to use. Orika grinned as she realized something about nature and balance. Something may be terrible to them, but it always had a positive effect for something else out there.

[Sorry about that Maya. I forgot the hunting exercises were posted on the Tategami Grounds. I’ll switch to the correct way next training.]
Shisei got very lucky the first time around, but for the next couple he’d try and take a more secretive approach. For now the serpent youth kept his back behind a tree. The first rabbit he killed lay behind the tree with its puncture wounds. Gold eyes just scanned around hoping to find another. His amber suns would not be deceived long. Within an icy shrub lay a small white bunny. Its head pivoted away from Shisei. The creature was probably having its breakfast….lunch. The serpent youth looked up at the sky and took in how the sun had moved to a different position. The trio had been out here all day. “What a wasted day…” the boy thought to himself as he began to plot his next move towards the bunny. With its back turned to the serpent youth Shisei didn't need to think long of what to do. One of his devious instruments would be good enough if it hit the back of the neck. The self proclaimed best, flung his weapon as silently as possible.

Batsu's eyes zoomed in on his fleeing prey. Leaving the lunch behind was a risk but it was one he had to take. Judgment was far more important to him at the moment. The bird was fast but so were many birds. Being fast and being faster than Batsu were two entirely different things. The lunch thief had just broken out of the clearing and was zigging and zagging between the dense trees of the Forest of Sorrows. Batsu could tell the bird was not the best tactician. He was taking a number of routes that were less than opportune. Unless of course his intention was to throw Batsu off the trail. Batsu was more than offended at the implications of this. The thief had underestimated Batsu for the last time. Batsu made a quick weave around a tree, keeping his eyes trained on the thief. He made sure his route was the most efficient while at the same time keeping on the trail of his enemy.

Time, time, time. You can’t get back the time you spend. Shisei should be using this time to learn jutsu, not playing hunter in a forest with two broken teens. He felt like he was in a rut while time was walking by. The academy student did not fret aloud though. His features still remained passive although it was his prey that would get his aggression. This is why Shisei was placing two more rabbits to his kill count. The first one was struck down and made a quick, but very high squeal. This alerted two other white hares in the bush to bolt out. The serpent youth’s fingers quickly released the second mini spear and it hit another of the creatures within its ear. The third had gotten away, but it wasn’t the kid’s concern at the moment. His main objective was to finish off the maimed two. His form was able to corner them both by a tree and within five minutes… well they became a part of the past by the pearl snake. The shinobi in training was now trying to find the third that had escaped. The one good thing was that the emotionless student was getting some practice. He’d also need to find some alone time to practice with his needles.

As she dumped the logs into the river, Orika came to another problem... or ten. Would the raft be large enough to carry both them and their prey? Where did this river head anyway? How were they to control the raft in case there was more than one tributary? They could drag the whole contraption over dry land, but that would take forever. Orika ssat down and sketched out the familiar map of Shimagakure. She had lived on the island for as long as she could remember so the image came as easily to her as if she were looking at an actual drawing. But it was one thing to draw a map and another to actually use it to carry this much meat all the way across the island. Wait, that was it! They would follow the river downstream until it reached the ocean, find some way to steer the floating raft along the shoreline, then dock at the western side of the island, finishing by rolling the raft back to the Tategami grounds. The plan was perfect, plus it would help them avoid the villagers who would certainly question what three near murderers were doing with a tonne of freshly killed meat and weapons. Orika sighed in happiness and wiped away the map, then limped back to tell Karite of her brilliant plan.

"Karite, Karite-kun!" Orika chirped, hopping up to the boy. She quickly relayed her big, awesome plan, pointing in the direction of the river as she rapidly talked. She was so excited to get home and show Maya all they'd done! "Cool, isn't it?" the farm girl asked, looking for the boy's approval. She was hoping he'd take the plan as it were, but if he had any suggestions, she wouldn't mind listening. Orika's eyes fell to Karite's weird fist blades and her grin turned into a frown as she looked back to the promise she had made Shisei of making him return the weapons. She had no attachment to her club or kama, but it would be too difficult to get the boys to return their cool new toys. But Hammah-san would no doubt find out about the missing weapons and kill them! Ah... there was another way. The girl's jaw locked into place as she thought about her other option, to craft all the missing weapons before Hammah returned. There were pieces and parts everywhere in his shop so all she'd have to do would be to weld the parts together, touch up the handle of this and that, assemble together a fan, and so on. It was doable, but difficult. It would be so much easier if she could persuade the boys to return their toys, with promises of making them new weapons later on, under Hammah-san's supervision.
