F'ed up cont.
As Patience let her attention drift since Averno was talking with Silva, which she now knew his name, she noticed the tension between a few of the feiens. She was hopeing nothing might happen, though there was enough other feien here that might be able to stop a fight if it did break out. Though she couldn't find whyere the tallest feien had gotten. After a quick scan, she noticed he was collecting his notebook off the floor. Seeming to be avoiding everyone. Patience had also noticed the human gaping at them all, but decided to ignore her for a bit and made her way over to Simon.

"Are you ok? Or did you just drop that and was getting it?"

She asked, concern in her voice.

Simon finally managed to close his fingers around his notebook and remained down on the floor for several moments. He thought he might want to leave, but he couldn't just leave every time something happened in the shop to unnerve him, could he? He had to learn to deal with other feien. It was his job now.

But he wasn't entirely sure he was feeling up to it today. Maybe he should leave and come back another time and try again.

Frowning, Simon looked up at his companion, decided to advise her to not wear skirts to the feien shop, and wavered back and forth on the idea of leaving. This was his shop now. He owned it. There was no reason for him to be down on the floor with half a dozen feien having a conversation above him. No reason whatsoever. Come on, Simon, just go and talk! he told himself. Now why couldn't he just listen?

"You know which sister I mean." Sunil hissed.

Was he making fun of her, asking which sister she would care to see?

"Quantel." She said finally, crossing her arms over her chest as if to protect herself. "I am asking about Quantel."

And then suddenly Simon was jerked away from his thoughts by the arrival of another feien.

Another feien. Not one he lived with, not one he knew (though he didn't really talk to the feien he lived with, did he?), but a face he did not immediately recognize.

"I, ah, I've got it," he managed, waving the notebook in the air. He swallowed nervously. He thought he might have met this feien before, but wasn't sure. If he had it was too long ago to remember.

Averno smirked at Silva, letting it show plainly once Patience turned her attention to Simon. She turned her back on him to face Sunil only and murmured a quiet "Thank you. I'm still getting used to being so bloody tall though. I have my bond home working on making an alternate to my room in the tower. I can't duck under the portcullis chains like I used to be able to to climb up there, and I can't squeeze through the space between them due to ah..." She glanced down at her chest "...Extra padding. So she's renovating on my behalf. I was tired of the racket she was making doing it, so I decided to pay a visit here."

She twirled a raven lock around one finger. "Would it be rude of me to inquire as to where you've been. I was worried when you stopped showing up for work."

Maq's grin widened, those orange eyes of his gleaming a bit at Sunil's defensive stance. "Nah, she didn't come. She's back at the House with the new Feien." As he looked her over, he bit back a remark that would probably sound bitter. The phrase he chose to use instead was a lot more jovial. "Maybe you should drop by? See if she still remembers you and all..."

Okay, so he'd slid a little towards the end. Big ******** deal. Sunil was probably too wrapped up in thoughts of Q to even notice.

"Ah, I see. My name is Patience if you didn't catch it before. Your name is Simon, right? You companion had called you that earlier."

Patience smiled, good to know he was ok, but it seemed he was just kind of a Shy feien. Which was a bit different. Most of the other feien she had met had been not as shy as he seemed. Well, except for maybe the first time she met Shux when she was younger.

"Ah, pleased to meet you." Simon stuck out his hand, then realized it was the wrong hand and hastily switched his notebook and extended the other hand, nearly fumbling the notebook again in the process.

Zelda flicked into the shop, wings fluttering out behind her. That damn bond of hers, fussing over that damn bloom... she was vaguely annoyed at herself for caring so much about what Sunny, of all people, thought. Sunny was vaguely useless. Sunny and her new bloom... it was ridiculous. The thing would probably interfere with all of Zelda's plans...

...maybe she should fortify her tent?

She emerged from her inner thoughts to eye the other feien here. Most she didn't know... but there was that one tall skinny feien. Again. Hrmph.

Zelda folded her hands behind her and moved closer.

Sunil turned back in Averno's direction with relief as the dark feien spoke. After her little outburst to Maq, she would rather be looking anywhere but in that direction. Speaking to him made her uncomfortable.

"Padding?" Sunil's eyes were drawn to Averno's chest and the minimal markings there for a second before she jerked them back up in panic.

"Ah yes. Hrm. Well. I have been in a frozen wasteland outside of gaia. My bond decided I was," Sunil made air quotes here, "out of control and Ruya and I were shipped off to stay with her brother. We were forced to eat cold pizza and remain in a tiny room all day everyday. It was dreadful."

Sunil gave Maq a sidelong glance.

"Maybe I will." And she probably would. "We'll have to spar." She raised one arm and made a muscle with it, making sure it was at a good angle for Averno to admire. "I've gotten weak in my confinement. I doubt I could even kick your a**."

Patience supressed a giggle at his fumbling and accepted his hand shake. She had to crane her neck to look at him though, since he was very tall compared to her. Almost 3 inches.

"Nice to meet you."
She smiled up at him, though the note book was interesting her. She glaced at the notebook and then back up at him.

"You seemed to be taking notes on the spells. You interested in magic?"

She wondered, curious about magic herself.

Simon looked down at the notebook. "No, actually, I'm taking notes on the information that needs updating. Due to the change in management and all." He quickly pushed at his glasses, hoping he wasn't coming off half as badly as he thought. "I'm not much for magic."

Silva almost laughed at the sight of Averno smirked, then jerked as he felt his new "Magic Detection" ability catch another presence in the room. He turned, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the juvenile he had met a while back. The dark skinned one... What was her name again?

"Hello, little darlin. Come to play with the big kids now?" He asked, motioning her forward. As he remembered, she had been entertaining.

"Change in management? This is new... When did this happen?"

Odd. she would think such a think would have been posted in a place where most could see it. She wondered when it happened and who was now in charge.

"I guess updating is a good thing though. Sadly I am trying to learn magic on my own and haven't had much luck. I have been looking for someone good with magic, but everyone I ask I find out they are as clueless as I am, or know someone but haven't seen them in a while. Oh well."

"Don't call me that," Zelda scowled automatically. "I am not anyone's 'darling,' least of all yours." She circled closer, head tilted, smiling distantly. Were all other feien as annoying as this one? She hoped not. If that was the case she'd go home and shred that bloom right away.

Exactly as she should have expected, Ruya thought to herself coldly as Silva blatantly ignored her to speak with some juvenile.

"I suppose I'll speak to you some other time." She said coldly to Silva's back before moving over to stand a bit apart from the group. She didn't really want to go home, but she wasn't sure the shop offered her anything either.

After a moment's consideration she took to the air and slowly made her way out. No doubt the pixapets would need to be let out and fed soon.

"The previous owners left," said Simon, a bit more weakly than he might have liked. He recovered well enough, continuing, "One of them was very good with magic. He gave lessons a few times. I suppose you might try the two feien I heard him mention having talked to about magic, Sunil and..."

At that Simon cocked his head to the side, thinking a moment. "Avernum? Averna?"

Averno gave an admiring glance at Sunil's bicep. "I fear I am woefully unequipped in the arena of fighting, though I am not a bad hand at weilding a rapier. I've been focusing on trying to learn more magic."

"Looks like we have a runner-up for the role of princess, then." He replied, amused. This was an interesting gathering, felt close to some sort of f'ed up family reunion. But he was starting to get claustraphobic...

"She holds that role." He said, motioning to Averno with his toothpick. "You're going to have to work harder if you want it." Sure that would piss her off, he turned, looking at the others for a moment. "It's getting too crowded in here. Think I'll leave."

This whole time the little girl had just been listening to the conversation. Finally, now that a bunch of fairies were leaving, she saw an opening. "What sort of magic do you know so far?" she asked Averno.

Her ego swelling just a little bit, Sunil spoke graciously to Averno. She had previous thought rapiers to be useless, but after a run in with Ruya's she had changed her mind.

"Magic is also very important. I have to admit, I've grown rusty in that area as well. I plan to start training immediately now that I am home."

She noted Ruya's exit with a sneer. Running away already? The girl had no spine at all.

"I'm sure we'll all miss you very much," Zelda said coldly. She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. She pressed her lips together. Did he try to be so aggravating? Or did it just come naturally?

"Sunil... Wasn't that one of the names of the feien that was above on top of the counter?"

Patience tried to recall when her attention was grabbed by the human making mention to magic. Looking up, she was tempted to fly up there right that second, but it was rude to leave in the middle of a conversation. So she turned her attention back to Simon and bowed her head.

"Forgive me, but I think Sunil is above and someone just mentioned magic. I enjoyed our conversation. Nice meeting you Simon."

Nodding her head once again, she took off and landed back up to catch the rest of the magic conversation. Maybe she could get some good help from listening.

Seeing that Ruya was heading out before coming by to say hello, Maq thought something was up. He shot back to Sunil as he flew in Ruya's direction, "You know where the House is. Swing by whenever!" Then, in a blur of red, he was after Ruya.

Silva nodded, trying not to laugh as he took to the air and headed out the door. Ruya had left. He would have to see about talking to her again sometime...

Love'em and Leave'em
After Maq left, Ruya thought about heading back up to her room. But with the paints gone (lost in her absence) and the pixapets mostly still adjusting to the move back, there really wasn't much to do up there. Besides, that would make it easy for Sunil to find her, something Ruya currently wanted to avoid.

So instead she glided out onto the porch, finding comfort in the fact that it hadn't changed at all while she was gone. The peeling white paint and aging wood felt exactly the same as she walked across the porch and sat with her feet dangling out into the air of the first step.

Silva slipped across the yard, trying to think of a way to say this. He had a quest he was going on... and right when she had just got back. Probably his own fault... but there was a reason. Right.

He slipped into the yard, noticing her on the step and moving forward. He had seen the red feien leaving. It kind of figured, actually. "You work fast, darlin. I'm impressed."

Ruya favored Silva with a look that said quite clearly she didn't have any idea what he was talking about. She looked down and kicking her feet a little, she wondered if this was in reference to Maq. Silva and Sunil had something in common then.

"Maquinar," she said to her feet, "is a friend. I suppose, like Sunil, you don't understand that concept?"

He motioned to the direction Maq had flown, his toothpick between his fingers. "Not home a day and you've already got a new admirer. I figure that's damn impressive." Yeah, he was jealous. Again. Just like the guys had thought he would be.

He sighed, shrugging it off. "You look good darlin. Even better from this angle."

Ruya shrigged off his first comment. She had a feeling Maq admired anything female, but there was no point in arguing with Silva about it.
Her hands twisting nervously in her lap, she looked up at the compliment, smiling finally.

"Thank you. You look nice as well, all grown up."

She made a circular hand motion which seemed to be her way of pointing out how good he looked altogether.

"Yeah. It's good to be tall." He said, smirking. "Course it was a b***h learning how to surf again in the middle of winter. I'm going to have to make myself a bigger board." Then he looked at her. "You never said you were leavin' darlin..."

"Ah," Ruya said, the smile fading again. "I thought that might be a problem."

She looked down again, banging her heels against the back of the stair. Would it matter what she offered as an excuse? With a heavy sigh, she looked back up at him and neatly tucked her hair behind her ears.

"I didn't know we were leaving until we were gone. Sunil pulled some stunt and Kam just decided on a whim to send us both away."
She wanted to offer an apology, but it wasn't her fault. Really she hadn't been happy about the move.

He grunted. "Same thing almost happened to me earlier..." Okay, usually he would jump on that excuse to give her a guilt trip, but-- He stepped forward, standing in front of the stairs so they were face to face. "Darlin... I have something to tell you..."

Ruya raised an eyebrow, suddenly suspicious. He was being very understanding about the whole leaving thing, which seemed like a bad sign.
"You do?"

"Well... yeah." He muttered. "I went to talk to Yanvir. He's this crazy a** sonuvabitch. But he's got a lot of power. And I asked him for a quest."

"You're leaving." she said, disbelieving. Wishing she had had any control at all over when she had returned, Ruya just blinked.

"Best timing ever." she added finally, totally sarcastic. "What are you questing for?"

"A cape." He replied, shrugging. "At the bottom of a dark hole. Shouldn't be too hard since I can see in the dark." Then he looked at her. "I shouldn't be gone longer than... hell, a month or so." He hoped. Maybe. "Look, you were gone a long damn time, darlin. Maybe-- Hell, I don't know. I'll call you or something."

"You'll call me." Ruya repeated. She narrowed her eyes at him, realizing she was probably being totally unreasonable in being upset. "I don't use the phone and as far as I know you have no idea what my bond's phone number even is. If you're going to lie to me, do try to remember I'm not stupid."

She stood, brushing herself off. It didn't matter that nothing had stuck to her, it was more of a habit than anything else.

"I've been trying to get a quest for months, dammit. What do you expect me to do? Stop my life because you finally come back?" He stopped, taking a slight breath and forcing himself to calm. "Look, what do you want me to do before I leave? To make you sure I'll be back. And I'll need my chain, so don't even think about it."

Well, the mention of being back seemed to penetrate Ruya's anger and she deflated a little. Crossing her arms defensively over her chest, she looked him in the eye.
"Your word. All I ask is your word that'll you be back. I missed you Silva."

"Look, Darlin. Everything I care about in this godforsaken world is right here. Granted, that's not much, but I'm not going to give it up easily. And I always come back." He stepped forward, then leaned down slightly. "And hell, now I have even more to come back to."

Giving Silva a lopsided smile, Ruya nodded. That would have to do. Besides, getting a cape out of a black hole shouldn't be all that dangerous. Right?

"Good luck getting that cape."

"Thanks darlin." He said, dropping down beside her on the steps. "It shouldn't be too hard. Not like when I was trapped on the pirate ship in a bird cage..."

"Pirate ship?" she asked, not sure she even wanted to know. At least he had obviously made it through this ordeal alive. "Lucky for me you seem to be very difficult to kill."

She looked over at him, one of her hands sliding slighty in his direction before she remembered something and halted its progress, hoping he hadn't noticed.

He smirked, leaning back on his hands, one behind her back. "Well, it was an amazon pirate ship. I was caught because well... I got distracted. And they auctioned me off to the highest bidder. She had a thing for No Doubt CDs..." He twitched visibly. "But they were attacked, and I got out while she was... distracted."

"I see. So really all you were in danger of was being forced to listen to music and stare at attractive women all day?" Ruya couldn't help but be amused. "Did you fetch a lot of money when you were auctioned off?"

"You have no idea what type of torture No Doubt can be." Silva replied, sounding vaguely wounded. "And I went for a decent amount." He replied, arrogantly. "I'm a damn good looking feien, after all."

"I wouldn't think amazons would have much use for a fairy." Ruya said slyly. "You're really not very big. In human terms anyway."

"Alright, she was a bit of a... ditz." He replied, snorting. "She looked a lot like Barbie, actually. With pigtails and a wanna-be pirate outfit." He chewed on his toothpick thoughtfully. "All in all I almost preferred the professional killers. She was a bit... terrifying in a way."

"I can imagine." Ruya said dryly, rolling her eyes. Trust Silva to find a living Barbie doll more terrifying than death. "So," she said, changing the subject, "Can I assume you missed me as well?"

"Yeah." He said, almost harshly. "Damn me, but yes." He turned, touching her cheek with one hand.

She had expected him to dodge the question somehow, so Ruya was surprised when he admitted it so easily. It robbed her of words, so she didn't say anything just reached up to touch his hand with hers. And then, hestitantly, not really sure what sort of response she would get, she leaned her face in closer to his.

He kissed her, softly at first, then deepening it once he grew accustomed to the fangs. It was as if nothing had changed... as if they hadn't been apart for months.

As the kiss started her stomach gave a little lurch, but it slowly settled down. Who would have thought it would be this easy to slip back into her life?

After a little while she pulled back, favoring Silva with a satisfied smile and a blush.

"I was worried," she admitted, reaching a hand up to touch his lips. "that you would be glad to have been rid of me."

"Things happen. People get older." He replied, shrugging as he pulled away slightly. "I'm not quite the same as I used to be, Darlin."

"I see." she said, feeling slightly uncomfortable. "I don't think I have." She sighed a little and looked off to the side of the steps, trying to figure out how to classify exactly what was happening here. What she wanted to happen here.

Then he snorted. "Haven't changed that much, either. Still do things I shouldn't, go places most wouldn't." He shrugged. "But right now I figure we just go with whatever happens. Hell, maybe you and me..." He shrugged. "We'll see."

Ah, the situation was undefinable. Not her favorite state to be in, but nothing she could do about it.

She turned back to nod in Silva's direction, signifying her assent to his suggestion.

"Whatever happens, happens."

"That's right." He replied, smirking slightly. "Neruo's missed you. As much as I probably shouldn't mention that, I figure I owe him one."
kam trouble: "And why exactly do you owe him one?" Ruya asked, wondering what death defying adventure this might relate to.

"I got him drunk." Was his reply, a little smirk playing on his lips as he remembered. "For someone who doesn't drink the boy can pack it away."

Ruya couldn't help giving Silva a disapproving look. "Poor Neruo. What possessed you to do that?"

"Seemed like a good idea at the time. Didn't hurt him, though I bet he had a headache in the morning."

She just sighed and shook her head, trying not to smile. "What was he like? Was he different when he was drunk?"

"A little slurred. And less stuck up." He replied, thoughtfully. "Think Nack was the only one sober by the time I passed out. So it's a bit hard to remember."

She gave him a sidelong glance. "What are you like drunk?"

"Not much different." He replied, fighting back a laugh. "But we did have a conversation about kids."

"Really? I could see Neruo wanting kids, he seems like he would be a good father," Ruya said thoughtfully. Curious, although fighting it, she asked, "What did you have to say about kids?"

"Ice has a breeding ticket. She says I'm going to raise the little s**t. Figure I might as well start thinking about it." He said, shrugging. "Just hope the kid's not a weakling."

That was surprising. Silva with a kid. Huh. She couldn't help but space out a little, picturing Silva commanding some juvenile to do push up after push up.

"Wow. That should be an adventure. Kam didn't let Sunil near me while I was a bloom according to her."

"Then you should thank God." He replied, dryly. "I plan on teaching it to surf. And snowboard." He smirked, already picturing it... kind of. "Maybe fight, too."

"Sounds like your kid will end up very similar to you." Ruya observed. "What if they don't like surfing, snowboarding, or fighting?"

"That's the same thing Neruo asked." Silva muttered, scowling slightly. "I guess I'll have to figure something else out." He laid back, propping his head on his hands and staring at the sky as he thought. "Might have to drag the kid over here. Make you deal with it."

Ruya shook her head, laughing a little. "And what makes you think that I would be willing to deal with your kid?"

She twisted around sitting so she was facing him.

"You took that annoying little butterfly, right? I figure a feien couldn't be any worse than that... or much." He shrugged, smirking in amusement.

"I thought the butterfly was a gift," Ruya said, an edge to her voice. "Besides, maybe I'm at capacity. Maybe I don't have room for any more things I need to take care of."

"He was. And it was also for his sake I brought him." He replied, not too bothered. "Nick and Nack would have killed him after a little while. And I didn't mean I'd make you keep it."

"Just figured I'd bring it over when I came over."

"Mmm." Ruya agreed, reaching out a tentative hand to run along Silva's leg. "That would be fine. I just don't think I'd make a particularly good parent right now."

"Hell, and I would?" He asked, honestly amused. He didn't move his leg. "It's like I said earlier. We go with whatever happens. Death's too damn close to live each day like you had a million more."

He turned his head, looking at her. "I guess that's why I'm going on the quest."

"You know who you are," Ruya pointed out. "What you want?" She withdrew the hand and leaned back on both of her arms, her legs still crossed in front of her. "Maybe someday I'll work up the courage and desire to go on a quest. You'll have to tell me all about yours when you return."

"I want... hell, a cape sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe it'll have some badass powers." He replied, a tint of excitement in his voice. "And yeah, I'll tell you all about it."

"Maybe it'll give you the ability to be invisble." Ruya mused, thinking back on the powers of capes in books she'd read. "Although you really already are in the dark."

"It's not always dark." He replied, sitting up. "But it's getting there and I need to pack." He turned, looking at her, then touching her cheek again, before slipping his hand into her hair, brushing the base of her ear.

"Mmm," she murmured and then leaned in to kiss him. Maneuvering so she didn't impale him on a fang was tricky and she gave up part way there, leaning back again. "Fangs," she said, blushing furiously.

"I have healing powers." He replied, leaning forward and kissing her deeply. When he pulled back his lip had blood on it, but it was already healed. "And I really want to snog you before I leave."

"Me too. Well, I want you to kiss me before you leave." Ruya said, nonsensically. "I'd like another when you come back, too."

"You can bet on it." He told her, leaning forward and brushing another kiss over her lips.

Ruya leaned back again, trying to hold on to the feeling of being kissed. The excitement of having Silva close again.

"You'd better go. Otherwise I might be tempted to lock you in the basement or something so you couldn't." She smiled a little to let him know she was kidding, at least partially.

"Yeah." He replied, pulling away reluctantly, his hand falling from her hair. "Just something to look forward to when I get back." He said, shoving himself to his feet. "I'll be back."

"I know." Ruya said, remaining seated. "As you said, you always come back." She gave him a lopsided smile. "At least I got to see you again before you left."

"Yeah." He said, stepping back into the newly developing shadows. "See ya, Ruya." He said before disappearing completely.

"Au revoir." Ruya said to the night, before looking up at the night sky. Maybe she'd stay out here a little longer before going inside, get herself together before facing the daunting task of feeding all the pixas.

Silva folded the piece of cloth over, effectively making a bag around the food he had decided on. The cloth would double as a blanket if it got too cold. Ice watched him, frowning slightly. "So all you know is you're looking for a hole."

"About fifty feet from Kanin."

"But where's Kanin?" She asked, confused.

"In the big west mountains."

"But--" Ice sighed. "There's miles and miles of mountains in the west, Silva. It covers almost all the way from the top of America to the... bottom." She said, lamely. "You've never been anywhere, well, I mean, not inside the door. Look, we'll look on a map."

"It's a feien city."

"Then we'll look on a feien map!" Ice said, looking stubborn. Silva raised an eyebrow at her. "I am NOT letting you go until you know exactly where it is you're going." She said, in that tone that meant she wasn't kidding.

"I'll find it, dammit."

"How?"

"Feien instinct." But his tone wasn't as sure this time. He cursed. "Well what do you want me to do? The b*****d's insane. He thought a parked car would run away if he didn't stare at it."

Ice blinked. "Well maybe you need to ask more questions. Go back, see what he tells you this time around."

"He'll demand more stuff."

"And you'll do it. I'm not going to let you travel off to God knows where to find God knows what without knowing where you're going!"

He cursed, but she made sense. "Fine." Then he headed out the door.

Information
Simon came back. He had a reason. In his hands he held a small photo taken of the front gates of Wakefield Manor. While the written directions were good (according to Careli) this visual representation was even better. Now anyone looking for the mansion would know with absolute certainty when they reached it. It was the only mansion like it in the neighborhood.

Which was a point Simon was going to discuss with Djerod later. At length. But for now, he just wanted to drop off the photo.

The shop was deserted, which suited Simon fine. Three visits in three days -- it was all getting to be a bit much, honestly! Simon flew over to the notice board and busied himself with figuring out how to add the photo. It looked like he might need to move things around -again-. Bother.

Val hovered her way into the shop as usual. It was pure coincidence that brought her here the same time as Simon. She hadn't been much interested in things at home since Halo had gotten a new child again. He kept trying to grab her and stick her in his mouth!

She'd spent the day with Gallium in front of the laptop, listening to the mendel's loud music. Some of the words had gotten stuck in her head but she wasn't quite capable of singing them in the same way of the singer, so they ended up sounding like something of a combination between a nursery rhyme and a musical.

"He calls this mansion not a house but a toooomb, He's always choking form the stench and the fuuuuuuumes, the wedding party all collapse in the roooooooooom, so my resignation to the bride and grooooooom."

She bopped her little head back and forth and then smiled thinking how silly she probably looked, though she didn't much care as she continued to do it anyway.

Silva flew into the shop, his map rolled in his hand as he looked around. Yeah, maybe Yanvir could tell him, or maybe not. But it would be a pain in the a** getting more information out of the feien. So he was looking to see if he could find someone else that knew where it was.

He caught sight of the tall blue feien, and headed for him. He looked like he knew what he was doing. "Hey." He said, dropping down next to Simon.

"Ah, hello!" blurted Simon, fingers tightening on the photo. "Can I help you?" The response was fast, automatic. How quickly those shopkeeper instincts developed.

"Yeah, I hope, at least." Silva said, unrolling the map in his hand and showing it to the male. "You ever heard of a feien city named Kalin?" He glanced over at the little dancing red feien, then turned back to Simon. The quicker he found his answer the quicker he could leave.

Simon blinked. "Beg pardon? A feien city?" He supposed Silva didn't mean Barton Town.

"Well... he said it was a city... and he said every feien knew it. But hell, I didn't know it..." Then he paused, thinking. "You know Yanvir, right?"

"Yes, of course," said Simon, even though he wished he didn't. From his interchanges with Julius he knew Yanvir to be a less-than-savory individual, even if in person the little ancient seemed mostly harmless.

Simon spotted Valsharess's movement from the corner of his eye and made a mental note to seek her out as soon as possible. But first things first, he had to deal with Silva.

Val continued her bopping, singing and toe wiggling until she was well into the shop. She saw Simon and waved, though she didn't know if he saw her or not. She didn't know the feien.. though she thought she may have seen him once before passingly.

"Let's gooo down. This elevator only goes up to ten. Lets goooo down.. He's not around he's always looking at men!"

Vals singing turned into humming as she got closer to both adult feien. She walked up to them, still humming, and just watched what they were doing. But it was in a way that she was acting like she was part of their conversation.. and looking very interested.

"Well he told me to go to a place called Kalin. That there's a hole fifty feet away from it that has a cape at the bottom. Said it was in the big west mountains. Only problem is there's a..." He motioned to the mountains on the map. "Shitload of mountains in the west. And they all look big."

"The Rockies," said Simon instantly. (He certainly was on his game today, wasn't he?) "That's where I found Yanvir, so whatever you're looking for, it's bound to be there."

"You found him there?" Silva asked, looking up. "Guess that explains why he's living in the store room." He looked at the map, eyeing the Rockies for a second. "But doesn't explain why he thinks a parked toy car would move if he wasn't watching it..."

"You uh... think you could pick out a certain spot in the rockies?" Was the feien right? It made sense. And probably more sense then whatever Yanvir would tell him.

Simon frowned. "I found Yanvir in Banff, which is in Canada. The Rockies are huge, though. Can't you just ask him to teleport you wherever it is you need to go?"

Val had her head stuck in between the talking adults and she'd turn to look at whoever was talking at the moment.

She did pause to look at the map and stared at it for a good while.

(And was that faint humming still coming from the small feien?)

Simon gave Valsharess a small smile, just to let her know he was indeed happy to see her and that he'd be with her in a moment.

"He can teleport?" Silva asked, blinking. "Well s**t, he didn't tell me that!" Then he paused, scowling. "Should have known when he doubled in size and spit out glass..."

Then he looked at the map again. "Think I can borrow your pencil for a second?"

Simon gestured at the pencil hanging off the noteboard, thoughtfully provided there for all to use. "Of course." It was his shop, sure, but far be it for him to impede the use of the community pencil!

Silva noded, walking over and taking it, then marking on the map where Banff was. "Thanks. I owe you one." He said, glancing over at Simon, then at the little girl. He nodded briefly at them, then headed for the tunnel again. Something told him he might be able to get the feien to take him, but to bring him back? Who knew?

Ice walked into the shop, looking around curiously. "Hello?" she called, not seeing anyone there. Then she blinked as Silva came out of a small hole and headed for her. "You haven't left yet?" She asked, confused.

"Can't find the short b*****d that told me..." He muttered, flying up to her and dropping down on her shoulder. "But I found out where I have to go." He handed her the map, leaning back against her neck as he waited for her to look it over.

"Banff Canada... In the Rockies." She said, frowning. "Okay... It would take four days driving to get to Canada, or roughly four days to get to Colorado. But that's a straight line..." She walked over to the counter, pulling the pencil behind her ear out and laying the map on the counter. She drew a straight line from Gaia to Colorado, then a straight line to Canada from Gaia.

"So... what's that mean?" He asked.

"Banff's all the way over here, see? I know there's a railroad that goes this route..." She pointed at the line going west. "But the easiest way would be by plane." Then she grinned evilly. "Or I could ship you UPS!"

"Um... no. The ancient b*****d's supposed to know how to teleport."

"Oh... Well, you wouldn't have liked a cardboard box, anyways..."

They went silent for a second, looking at the map. "You won't be here for the party this Saturday, will you." Ice said, sounding a little down.

"It happens." He replied shrugging. She nodded, looking at the counter for a few moments.

"Kind of awkward being the meet your staff party and one of the staff member's feien is off doing God knows what in Banff Canada..." She went on, making him snicker. "It's not funny!"

He laughed out loud. "Honest to God, woman, you're full of s**t."

"Yeah, yeah..." Ice replied, rolling her eyes. "I guess it would be more impressive if you weren't such a jerk."

"I'm damn impressive, thank you very much." He dropped off her shoulder, heading for the supplies and grabbing a roll of simple patterned red and black cloth. He hauled it over his shoulder easily.

"And I suppose I'm paying for that?" Ice asked dryly. He looked up at her blankly.

"Who said anything about paying?" He asked.

Ice groaned, digging in her pocket and pulling out some gold. She walked over to the register, then paused. "Anything else you want to... steal?"

"Hmm..." He said, then blinked as she handed him his traveling supplies. "Yeah. A bowl."

"Okay." Ice said, ringing it up as he got the bowl.

"I think Tera usually handles this part of the job." Ice said a few seconds later, watching as he stole her exacto knife from her jacket pocket. "You know... you COULD say thank you." She said dryly.

He grunted, looking over the cloth for a second before cutting a long triangle. Then he folded it over, cutting a half circle in the middle. Ice blinked. "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, huh?" She asked curiously.

"Mountains don't sound that warm." He replied, trying it on. Then he scowled, not liking the way the sides were completely open... Or his chest was covered... He took it off again, laying it open on the table and grabbing the pen knife again. Ice winced as it scratched lightly against the countertop. He split the front panel from the hole down, then went to the rest of the cloth, cutting off a strip.

Then he slipped it on, noting how it bunched between his wings with a slight movement. He frowned, grabbing one of the hand mirrors to look at the cloth. He scowled, taking it off again, not caring that Ice was watching. He might have been irritated if it was someone else, but hell, Ice wouldn't say a word.

He sliced into the cloth again, then at his wings. They were too large to fit through a small hole... Reluctantly he cut out most of the back, leaving only a thin strip that ran between his wings, flaring out to a wider piece to cover his a** and legs. He put it on again, then grabbed the strip, belting it around his waist. Then he glanced at her. "Give me some of your hair."

She raised an eyebrow, but took the exacto blade, cutting a few strands of her hair and handing them to him. Then he proceeded to take the jacket off... again.

"You're making yourself a coat... to go and get a cape." Ice said, looking incredulous.

He shrugged, taking the coat off again and folding it over. Then he cut slices into the sides, making sure they lined up. He grabbed the hair then, lacing up the sides like shoelaces, the white hair probably not the best sewing material, but it worked. He tied them off, then slipped the makeshift coat on, belting it once again.

Ice raised an eyebrow, then grinned. "Nice." It had no sleeves, and it was simplistic, but at least he wouldn't be freezing.

He took the jacket off and shoved it into his bag. Then he dropped down on the counter, looking at her for a second, chewing on his toothpick. Ice gave a little shrug. "You're not gonna die on me, are you?"

"Nope."

"You'll be back?"

"Yeah."

"I know you know how to use a phone. So I'm going to give you my 1-800 number." She dug through her pocket, pulling out a small slip of paper and writing quickly.

"Yeah." He muttered, taking the sheet and shoving it into his bag as well. Then he stood. "If I can't find him soon I'm going to find a different way there."

"Call me, I'll sneak you into the airport."

He grunted, nodding slightly before heading for the hole, wondering if accepting help from his bond made him less of a man. Probably, but at least nobody would know about it.

((Before I start this, realize I am choosing of my own free will to make this quest longer than it has to be. A Yanvir quest only has to be one post long. But I love to torture my feien, so he'll be gone a little longer than that. Besides, he's planning on avoiding the party.))

Ice sat at her computer, tapping at the keys quickly as she scrolled through the google search program. "There. Got a map. Let's enlarge it..." She tapped a few more keys, then sat back. "That look about right?"

"It's big."

"We can fine tune it through the door." She replied, minimizing the map and bringing up the controlling system for the closet gateway. "It's going to take a few days at least... so I'm going to close the door behind you. I don't want anything getting out..."

"Or getting in." He finished, nodding as he remembered the experience with Snake.

"Exactly." She typed a few more keys then stood, heading for the door. Then she paused. "Look, I knew this was supposed to be some big... proving yourself to be a man thing, but--"

"If I wanted to prove I was a man I'd go back to Snake's place." He said, getting himself a new toothpick then putting on his makeshift coat. "In some cases being a dumbass and being a man aren't the same thing."

"It only took you.. how long to realize this?" She asked, grinning crookedly. "You know... it's too bad you're not human sized. If you were I think I'd have a crush."

He snorted, smirking slightly. "You damn well better believe it."

She laughed, opening the door for him and shivering slightly. "Man it's cold..."

He nodded, belting his coat a little tighter and grabbing his staff. His chain was under his coat, next to his skin, but he preferred it that way. Then he took to the air, flying through the door and looking around.

"Bye, Silva." Ice said, closing the door softly behind him. He didn't say a word.

For a second he stared at the city, focusing on his magic detection so hard that his head hurt slightly. Then he jerked like a horse sensing water, or a wolf sensing food, and flew. Not to the human city, but to something deeper in the mountains.

His arms got cold, and his stupid coat kept flapping against his legs, once again reminding him of why feien didn't wear clothes. But he wasn't as cold as he could have been. And after a while he didn't even notice the cold. He felt magic. It was faint... as if old... but he felt it. And he damn well wasn't going to give up until he had found it.

The day seemed to go by without his noticing, slipping into night, the air getting even colder. He was a shadow feien, not a cold feien. This was a pain in the a**. But he kept going, only dropping onto a tree limb when he could feel his muscles protesting. He sat there for a moment, dragging open his pack and pulling out a cherry. He ate quickly, then slipped into the tree, hiding in the shadows to take a quick nap. One eye stayed open.

When he woke it was to the sight of a bird hesitantly approaching him. He jabbed his staff at the bird, jumping to his feet. The bird startled, complaining as he jabbed at it again, then swung, hitting it upside the head. It flew off.

"I hate birds." He muttered, digging in his pack and grabbing another cherry. He ate quickly, then took to the air, heading in the same direction as before. Then he stopped, seeing the city of Kalin for the first time. It looked deserted... But that wasn't where he was going, anyways.

He stopped, about fifty feet from the city and started looking at the ground. For a while it seemed as if the ancient had lied. Then he caught sight of it. The hole... a large, gaping hole that looked to be the purest black he had ever seen. He smirked, speeding up and diving towards the hole, landing on the side and looking down.

His eyes gleamed for a second as his darkvision kicked in. The hole wasn't empty... Or at least it hadn't been for long. Large tracks came from the hole, paws... claws... And a belly that barely missed dragging on the ground.

... Whatever it was, he got the feeling it wasn't very friendly. With that thought his teeth clamped on his toothpick and he dived, letting himself fall straight down... and down... and down... Then he let his wings out, grunting with the jerk the wind caused. He had found the cape.

He landed, grabbing it quickly, then took to the air again, racing to the surface. Just in time he thought, catching sight of a lumbering badger heading towards the hole.

He stayed where he was, looking thoughtful, then held up the cape examining it for a second. He shook it out briefly, then hung it over his shoulder. He needed to get to the human world and find a phone.

But wait... it was only friday. He smirked, figuring the call could wait. If he went home now, well... she'd be dragging him to that damn party of hers.

And if he called her tomorrow, well, it might be too late. Pity.

It took him another day to get to human civilization, and this time he hadn't bothered to take a nap in the trees. He was tired, yeah, but he had pulled all nighters before. He had wound up stuffing the cape in his bag, not sure he wanted to try it on just yet. Not when he needed all his wits about him. Who knew what the cape did?

He dropped to the ground on the outskirts of the town, heading for the shadows besides the buildings automatically. He was looking for a phone. And if it was too easy to see then it wouldn't work.

He caught sight of an open window on the second floor of a brick building, and headed for it, slipping in, for once grateful he was skinny. The room was mostly empty, a red phone on a desk, a few boxes scattered around. It was obviously a buisness office of some sorts. With a glance around he nodded, figuring no one would come in the few minutes it took him to call Ice.

He dropped down next to the phone, dragging the receiever off of the phone and laying it on the desk. Then he dug through his bag, pulling out the piece of paper and jumping onto the keypad to "Step" the numbers in.

"One... eight..." He muttered, dancing from number to number, then waiting impatiently as the phone rang.

"Oh... um... Ice here! What can I do you for?" The answer was tinny, but unmistakeably his bond.

"I'm done. I'm in the town."

"The feien town?"

"No, the human one."

"Wow, that was fast..." He rolled his eyes, once again asking himself if she was hiding something or if she really was just a ditz. "You know... now that you're there I could lock on to your--" Then she stopped. "Wait, can't."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm in public! You don't do stuff like that in public! It's rude! Go back to the place where you came in at. I'll call Kisa and have her open the door." It was irritating, yet another hour or two of flying, but did SHE think of that? "Now I've got to go mingle. And try to come to the party when you're back, alright? I'd really appreciate it."

"When have I ever done something that you appreciate?" He asked dryly, jerking as his ears picked up the sound of someone coming. "I've got to go." Then he grabbed the phone and hung it up, heading back to the window and slipping out just as people entered the room.

"I could have sworn I heard someone talking in here..."

"Huh."

Kisa, child alphapet, dughter of Ice, and (unknown to her) an ice elemental, sat in the doorway of Ice's closet, looking out in wonder at the immense mountains that eclipsed the horizon. The air was sharp and refreshing, with just the type of bite that she loved. This... this was where she wished they lived, she thought, pouting slightly.

She had been waiting ever since the phone call, actually. Just sitting in the doorway, watching the hours go by and peering into the distance for the sight of dark red wings. Silva sure flew slow...

She sighed, kicking a leg slightly, her boothill hitting the dirt. As much as she liked the cold, she thought as she picked up the book she had been reading again, she was getting bored. She should have asked to go to the party with Ice. But that would mean dealing with other people, something not very high up in her to-do list.

Oh well...

She hadn't gone to karate, since it was the weekend, and Boss said they were going to be "On Planet" whatever that meant. All he really said he did "On Planet" was go surfing all the time. And she didn't know how to surf.

"Yo! Kitty!" The words made her jerk, smiling brightly as she caught sight of a tired looking feien heading towards her, his pack tied to the end of his staff, hanging over his shoulder. "Get ready to close the door!"

She blinked, jumping to her feet and entering the room, waiting until he dashed through the door to slam it shut. A large THUMP! hit the door, making her wince and look over at the smirking Silva.

"I should do that more often." He said, making her blink in confusion. "Forget about it. Want an egg?" He opened his bag, pulling out a bird egg. "Thought it would be dinner, then the damn thing started wiggling..."

Kisa went wide-eyed, taking the egg from him with a confused look.

"You might want to put it somewhere warm." He told her, nodding slightly before heading for the door. She just stood there, staring at the egg for a second, before gently placing it on her pillow. Then she chased after him, making a few hand motions to try to catch his attention.

"What?" He asked, pulling the door of the fridge open and landing on the top shelf. "If it's about the party, I ain't going." He told her, grabbing a mini water bottle and taking to the air again. He left the fridge door open, making Kisa sigh inwardly and close it for him. He was such a pain...

He dropped down on the couch, opening the bottle and taking a gulp. If some of the water splashed over him, well he didn't seem to mind. Until his jacket got wet. Then he made a face, putting the bottle down and stripping the coat off and tossing it to the side.

Kisa sighed, sitting down next to him and curling into a half ball to watch him drink. After a second a little smile pulled at her lips. He would never change...

After he got back from the party Silva dug through his bag, pulling out the black piece of "Cape" that he had recovered from the badger hole. He scowled, turning it one way, then another. It sure as hell didn't LOOK like a cape...

"That b*****d lied to me." He muttered, tossing the piece of cloth aside.

"Or maybe..." Ice offered, looking sheepish. "We didn't go to the right place?"

Silva just looked at her.

"You know, the cape must have been in there for a long time... maybe it's falling apart."

"...."

"Okay, we probably went to the wrong place. And I admit, it's probably my fault. Why don't you go try to talk to Yanvir again?"

"Fine. But after this..." He muttered, standing and grabbing the piece of cloth. "No more quests. All this cryptic bullshit is giving me a headache."

"Sounds like a plan."

He looked at his pack, reluctantly grabbing it and heading for the window. "I'll be back later."

"I know."

"Then I'm taking a vacation."

"Yeah? Where?"

"Hell if I know. Someplace with a beach." He muttered, taking off for the store.

Ice carried him home, not sure he was up to flying, and even if he was... well with her luck he would have got lost. "Silva's on a quest... so it'll be a little while before you get to meet him." She said, mentally comparing him to her other feien. He was shorter, but broader through the chest. And he had much more color on him. It looked like a tribal design.

"What's your name?" She asked, heading through the door.

"I don't remember..."

"Um... then I guess we should give you one..." She said, looking thoughtful. He was kind of a shock from Silva... "Um... Aleric?"

"That works." He said, shrugging with a slight smile. "Aleric." He repeated, looking thoughtful. He turned, watching as she headed through the house for a room in the back. The first thing that caught his eye were two small males playing what appeared to be a game in the middle of the floor, kicking a cherry back and forth.

"Nick, Nack, come over here!" Ice said, dropping down on the bed and letting Aleric step onto the surface. Nick looked up, grinning widely until he caught sight of the stranger.

"Who is he?" Nack asked, sounding cautious. "And did Silva do that to his wings?"

"Silva hasn't even met him, thank you very much. And this is Aleric. He's going to be living with us."

"Until Silva finds out about it, you mean." Nick replied, going back to his dribbling. "This is his house."

"You never know... maybe the new guy can hold his own." Nack said, sounding doubtful.

"Wait just one second, guys, this is MY house, not Silva's!" Ice said, glaring at them. They looked at each other, then laughed. Hard. "It's not funny." She muttered.

They laughed even harder.

They were trying to scare him, Aleric thought calmly. He dropped down on the bed, watching them curiously, a little smile pulling at his lips. This Silva had their loyalty. He could appreciate that. A man that was respected when he wasn't there. It didn't happen very often... at least he didn't think it did.

"This Silva... he's a fighter?" He asked, making them both jerk. They looked at each other, then back at him.

"You could say that." They agreed.

"Does he hurt you?"

"Only if we don't block." Nick said, grinning sheepishly.

Aleric nodded, satisfied with that answer. Then he took to the air, using more magic than wing power. His wings weren't much good for that sort of thing. "I need to look around." He said, making Ice blink, then nod dumbly. "I'll need a place to sleep."

"Silva sleeps on the tiger." Ice said, pointing to the stuffed animal. "But that depends on if he actually sleeps at all..."

He nodded, glancing at the tiger, but not commenting. He was starting to get a picture of this Silva in his mind... It was... interesting.

But he had yet to find what he was needed for in this strange family... For some reason it bothered him. He needed to repay Ice for taking him in. Somehow...

It was just his luck, Aleric thought dryly, heading down the hall, his eyes taking in all the photos on the walls. He liked his bond. He liked the house, too. It was full of life. But it wasn't HIS life, and his bond was only his by accident.

He was encroaching on another male's territory, and that territory had been marked so blatantly that even when Silva wasn't there... he was there. So where did that leave Aleric? Sleeping in the tree outside? For some reason he didn't think that was so far off the mark...

Except, he thought, heading through a room, intent on looking through the window, the only tree back there looked more like a twig than a proper bed and breakfast.

He jerked, his stomach grumbling at the breakfast thought. But when he turned, he was somewhat shocked to see an adult... human? female blocking his way, a cautious look on her face. She had a tail... and black stripes on her pure white skin. And she didn't look as if she was going to say anything.

"Hello." He said, making her jerk back slightly.

Kisa was confused. This was HER room, and any visiting feien were not likely to barge in. Silva did, of course, but that was different. Silva had watched her grow up. He was like a... brother or something. This feien--

"You're comparing me to Silva, too. Aren't you?" Aleric asked, his lips curving slightly. "I'm Aleric." He said, noting the cautious look on her face. "I won't hurt you. I'm just going to live here."

She shook her head, stepping back slightly. Not because she minded him living there, but because Silva would. And this feien-- She reached out, gently touching his tattered wings. He looked to have had a rough life.

Aleric bit back the urge to jerk at her touch, patiently letting her feel his wings. "I can't stay in Ice's room." He said, making her look up and nod. She let her hand fall as she looked around the room. Her tiger pixa was laying in the sun in his terrarium, his belly up for the world to see. That was an option...

"So you'll let me stay in here?" He asked, feeling pathetic. He could survive on his own in the wilderness. He was tough. But he had a bond now... and he should stick close to that bond. They shared her spiritual energy... her life energy.

Kisa looked at him, her shoulders slumping slightly. Silva would be mad. But he was right. He was better off staying in here than in the room Silva claimed as his own. But-- She walked over to the terrarium, bringing the lazy tiger out and showing him to the feien. Snake Eyes yawned, showing his gigantic (for a pixa) mouth, sharp fangs and long long tongue.

"I don't mind sharing." Aleric said, flying closer, his hand held out. He had never seen a creature that size. Well, other than a feien. The tiger looked to be as large as he. The tiger sniffed him, eyeing him as if mentally evaluating how he would taste, then closing his eyes, clearly not interested.

Kisa nodded, lowering Snake Eyes back into his glass housing and turning back to the feien. But the feien was gone, standing on her bed, examining the egg that still shook there. He knocked on the shell, cracking it just slightly, and a head broke through from the inside.

Kisa gasped, watching in awe as Aleric helped the small bird release itself from the egg shell. Silva would never have bothered to do that. In fact, she had been surprised he had bothered to not eat it, even after it moved.

The bird chirped, looking pathetic. Aleric turned, looking at Kisa. "He's hungry." He said simply, taking to the air again.

She nodded, not having a clue what to feed him, then headed for Ice's room. Ice would know!

And Aleric stayed there... looking at the room he would call his own. A silent mistress, a lazy tiger, and a newly born blackbird. And the imperceptible sense that even now he was encroaching on someone else's land.

"And you say this woman--" Ice started out, staring at the paper. She was an English major! She should be able to figure it out... but it wasn't working so far.

"Asked me to go with her off Gaia to join her breeding factory." Aleric replied, calmly. "She gave me that letter for you to give to the rightful owner of the feien store."

"Simon?"

"That's what they told me." He replied, nodding, a slight smile on his face as he remembered the feien that had told him. "I told her--The woman, that is, that she would have to approach you about taking me. I'd rather not die again."

"She won't take you." Ice said, looking confused. "She won't be taking anyone, I would think. But we do need to talk to Simon..." She stopped, looking sheepish.

"Is there a problem?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I've um... never actually talked to Simon before." She said, hesitantly.

"And you work for him."

"Well... yeah."

"So you'll have to meet him."

"And what? Hand him a page of gibberish and say that my feien told me this happened? And I'm still not sure exactly WHAT it was that happened?" She frowned.

"Would you rather I go?"

"I hate to do that to you... I mean, you're only a few days old, and--"

"I'm a few days reborn, Ice. Not old. I am no child."

Ice smiled brightly. "Aleric, you're great. Really."

"And it gives me something to do." He said, shrugging off her words. "You have the directions to get there?"

"Um, yes... I copied them from the shop a few days ago..." She said, digging through her papers and handing one to him. "So... are you happy with your situation?" She asked, hesitating again.

"I'm alive." He said, his wings rustling slightly. "It's better than I have been in a long time." He blinked as she reached out, touching a finger to his shoulder.

"I won't let you go, Aleric. You're my feien, just as Silva is. And you'll stay with me as long as you're alive. I promise."

He nodded, smiling just a little. "Your Silva might have something to say about that."

"Then he'll just have to deal with it." Ice said, her jaw turning stubborn. "Because you're both going to live here."

"Thanks." He said, taking the letter back. "I'll leave in the morning."

Aleric's Entry
Dear... book.

I assume you're a little confused. I know Ice is, and I am as well, to be honest. My name is Aleric, and I am... three days old. Or "Reborn" whatever you want to call it. I first remember being on Ice's hand with the feeling that something was missing. My memories, to be precise. I am an adult feien that has no memories of his past. Did I have a family? A lover? Children? It's rather frustating...

As well as that, I also find myself in a house that most definitely belongs to another feien male. As far as I can tell the bond relationship consists of a human bond and a feien who runs the household. And this household is ran by a feien named Silva. He isn't here yet, he is... otherwise occupied. I will have to deal with him, no doubt. And from what I have heard and seen so far... I believe it will be difficult.

Not only that, and please, dear book, don't think I'm complaining. But not a day after my rebirth I get thrown into a massive problem with a woman in black and a scheme to trade feien like commodities. For a breeding scheme. One that means if we go with her we will never see our bonds again. I don't feel like dying again, but that's not the real problem.

Feien seem to be very... emotional creatures. Especially the children. An argument started, and a lot of screaming happened, but nothing was resolved, save for the fact I now have a letter of gibberish to deliver to a feien I've never met. One that my bond works for. She's never met him, either.

The good thing is, I am most definitely needed in this new world. The bad thing is I wish it hadn't happened quite so quickly. I still haven't set up my sleeping quarters.
