Leon sighed impassively as the person who seemed to be the leader barked commands. He was sufficiently buzzed and hadn't slept all night, the memories of his foster father on his death anniversary were still strong in his mind.
He looked up, the emotional pain evident in his eyes, but he simply stood up. "" he said in elven, seeing that the woman knew it. He ignored everyone for a while and got a few pieces of grass that he started chewing on. It would be his breakfast. He looked around and identified that everyone was still there, and most were readily awake.
He decided to walk over to Talon, the only person he could say he knew there, and see how she was doing, especially since she had just hit her head on the tree.He half stumbled in one step, revealing that he had indeed had a fair amount of alcohol, but not enough to really mean anything. He cracked his neck, shook his head, and that made him sober up somehow, probably had something to do with the grass he was eating. "Morning Talon. You sleep well?" he said in his normal voice. The drink had already completely worn off.

"" Blade responded, turning her head to look over at the new goat-man-thing that had come into camp. She could remember people like him from her studies... unfortunately, the name of the race escaped her. "" She scratched the side of her, wondering how he'd known that she knew elven. '' Still, would he be skilled enough? She eyed him as he sat there idly eating some grass, pondering. Well, he looked like he had some meat on him, but that didn't mean anything. Blade had taken down men twice her size with ease because they hadn't known how to fight. ''
"" Blade called out to Doina, although it was in more of a desperate attempt to ignore Seraphis and Silver than to help Doina wake up. Goddammit that man knew how to move fast. However, from the expressions Blade had caught out of the corner of her eyes, everything that had happened had been an accident. Of course, Blade didn't know how long the two had known each other. From what she could tell those two were lovers. So why in the seven hells were they acting so awkward? She'd seen couples in spawn hunting groups just sit there and make-out in public view of everyone else. If those two were shy in their public affection they were doing a really shitty job of doing it.
She walked over to the fire and kicked dirt into the embers to be sure that the fire was dead. No sense in having the trees survive against the fire spawn only to meet their fate at the ends of a measly camp fire. That would be a crappy way to go for anyone.
"Be sure to get all of your things together... namely... breakfast." '' With that said Blade looked around, her eyes scanning for food until they landed on some kabobs. She walked over and grabbed one, sniffing it tentatively. Oo, smelled like Ebon's cooking! If there was one thing that Feritae had to say about him it was that the man's cooking kicked a**.

Doina yawned one last time before reaching down and grabbing her bag. Blade was talking to her, ‘princess’ was her new nickname seeing as how the other woman had called her that once before. She was alert enough to do some tasks and walk but it was still a little too soon for her to be her talkative self. Some people with bright personalities could just wake up and act as if the sun was always out and shining. Doina needed a few minutes to herself every morning to get into that mentality.
She felt as if someone was watching her and looked over at her side to see the form of the Ferriles. She would have been startled to see her if she hadn’t remembered that the Ferriles had joined their group last night, brining along the herd of kittens. Still, to have her stare at her, or she thought she was, was a little unnerving. But she put on a small smile anyway and gave a little wave.
She could hear the sounds of the thief, saying strange things again. He seemed to be running around the clearing, why she didn’t know and it was too early to try to figure out. Her eyes roamed around the clearing, taking in the positions of sleep or awareness the rest were in. Taking a look at Seraphis and Silver she turned away and covered her mouth with her hand as she laughed. It seems those two slept snug and warm through the night. If those two weren’t a couple or at least had some sort of romantic feelings for one another then the typical signs of attraction needed to be revised.
The sound of another speaking elfin, this voice different from Blade’s, snapped her attention to Leon. She stiffened up and her eyes narrowed slightly as she wondered who this was. Blade wasn’t making any movements to this new person being unwanted so she relaxed. She must have slept really hard since she didn’t remember when he had come along. This man resembled a goat more than a man from the angle Doina was at. She stared at him for a little bit longer, her brain trying to connect his appearance with something. An Ibixian! Their whole people were heavily divulged in magic, nearly as much as some elves. To have one come across their group was very fortune though a bit odd. She realized she was staring and flushed in embarrassment before turning away.
She turned to look at him again as he made his way over to another new member in the group, this time a woman. She looked over at them for a minute before grabbing her bag and walking over to Blade. She looked at the kabob that Blade had. She wasn’t yet hungry but she knew she would be soon with skipping a meal last night. She had something her bag, she knew that, so she’d just dig in there and eat it.

Blade had just been about to take a bite out of what was in front of her when Doina came over. Her teeth clacked together, just but an inch away from what smelled like total paradise. She turned her head, smiling at the elf once Doina was finished talking. "" Blade giggled and took a bite off of the kabob, her mouth instantly watering more as the delicious flavors entered her mouth. '' It was so, so, so true. Blade could cook but it wasn't anything special. Her food was decent but after just a week of eating you'd end up wishing for a little extra. Ebon, however, was a god at cooking. Damn that man. Damn that man and bless him all at the same time. Blade would marry him if only to get a taste of his cooking at least once a day.
Blade came back to the world when a short while after she'd swallowed. "Hmm? Oh, right, my back." Blade undid the clasp that held her cloak together and grabbed it as the cloak fell off. She turned herself so that Doina could see her back. "Is it as p***y and disgusting as I'm imagining it looks? It hurts a lot, actually, but it's not unbearable. I've had worse from the spawn, although this probably could've been worse."
As Blade waited for Doina's conclusion she thought back to what had happened at the river. Usually the being didn't appear in the nature in which it had just appeared. Something was wrong, that was for certain. Sometimes they would at least stand there and watch Blade. But instead they hadn't even looked at her. That crying... something had to be wrong.
"Let's hurry up and get a move on." Blade stated, adjusting the cloak that she was holding. "We're heading up to Hightide Pass, remember that. We haven't got much time."
'' Blade supposed that it couldn't be helped, though. '' Maybe the next time that they met Blade would actually get a chance to communicate with them. ''
"So, what's the verdict, milady?" Blade asked, turning her head in Doina's general direction. "Do you think I'll be okay once we reach Hightide?"

Silver's eyes snapped open the moment she felt something touch her inner thigh. Too startled for embaressment at her position, she prepared to tell Seraphis off when his mouth came into contact with hers. The quite literal sword maiden wasn't too shocked to not to feel heat suddenly flood her. She didn't have the strength to pull away. Never before had she felt this way! Never had she been kissed, either. Only a fatherly peck on the forehead or a brotherly kiss on the cheek... Her mind was boggled, so her instincts took over. As soon as they parted, she rolled them both over so he was flat on his back in the dirt and she was straddling his hips, her hands firmly gripping his shoulders. With a gentleness so she wouldn't knock him unconsicous or make him bleed, just wake him up and give him a goose egg on the back of his head, she let him up slightly only to push him forcefully back so his head hit the ground with a satisfiying thump.
She kept him at arm's width as she immediately began to sharply demand, "Darkstar, what the hell were you...? Why did you...?" Frustrated she couldn't even finish a sentence she looked away to try and gather her wits, which had seemingly been scattered to the four winds. She was using very little force to keep him pinned, and her mouth was still soft from his affections. A bright light had appeared in her already iridescent blue eyes. But behind that light lingered shadows, those of a bewildered and inexperienced innocent and the terror of one who feared love with all their might. Her lower lip had begun to slightly tremble, and if her hands weren't busy gripping his robes tightly, they would also be shaking. His words of love at the last had barely registered, though her subconsious noted them and her whole body began to tremble.

Seraphis cried out sharply as his head hit the ground. His wits came rushing back to him in an instant. He turned his head to the side, refusing to meet Silver's scornful gaze. He deserved this, at least a little, he knew. It certainly wasn't a conscious act on his part, but the deed was done none the less. He stoically accepted her scorn as just punishment. He stayed silent for many moments after Silver attempted to demand an explanation, dwelling on the awful reality of the situation. Finally, deciding that she deserved her explanation, he opened his mouth to speak.
"I was sleeping," he said softly, "I wasn't aware of what I was doing until it was too late. I didn't... I haven't..." Seraphis let out an exasperated sigh, more toward himself than Silver. He couldn't stand the scrutiny. All he wanted right now was to be away from her. It was all too much to handle. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice, barely a whisper, "Please get off of me." He closed his eyes, attempting to shut the world out. He dearly hoped Silver wouldn't demand anything else from him... Or strike him again. The back of his head hurt like hell.

Leon noticed the elf that had just woken up was staring at him, but he didn't mind. He was used to it at this point. Especially since it was likely that almost none of the people here had ever seen an Ibixian in the flesh and fur before. He smiled pleasantly and nodded curtly to show that he didn't mind and there was no need to be embarrassed.
He had noticed the couple, but not the surprise from the others, so he assumed that it was something normal until the female half-elf flipped the male over and hit his head on the ground. It was then apparent what was happening. He was no empath, but he didn't have to be to get the basic feelings they were both having, and he couldn't help himself from laughing. It was a hearty and good natured laugh, not making fun of them at all, more understanding than anything, and his mind flashed back to his first relationship briefly. The apparent inability to finish a sentence on either part was the final giveaway.
Leon had to struggle to get his laughing under control. "Please, excuse me, I don't mean to laugh, But to be honest and blunt, it seems to me that neither of you know a good thing if it smacked you, or in this case, kissed." His smile faded a little. "I'm sorry, it is no place of mine to advise you, especially since neither of you know me and I don't know your customs. Please excuse." he said in a more serious tone. Now having totally defaced himself in front of the group, he sighed and bowed his head. "Perhaps I should go." he said and turned to leave. He didn't want to, but after his display, it wasn't likely they would let him stay.

Grenth didn’t sleep well. He usually didn’t. To sleep well, he had to wear himself out, and their brief battle with the fire spawn hadn’t been that difficult for him. Bad sleep was a problem he shared with many, many other spawn hunters. At some point or another, almost all spawn hunters had lost someone. Everyone handled death differently. Denial was his method, and it resulted in bad sleep and, often, bad dreams. The dream he was currently having, however, was simply the reliving of an unpleasant memory. He mumbled and rolled over, eternally searching for a more comfortable position
””
He groaned loudly. That was Blade. Yelling at them. “Ah…” He mumbled something as he searched through the muck of his mind for the right words. Oh, there they were. “ It smells like fish because someone probably killed a fish, woman.” Grenth slowly got to his feet and stretched out. Blade was on his cloak all night, which meant that he’d spent eight hours on hard ground and tree roots with almost no padding. The after effects were unpleasant at best. He rubbed a particularly sore spot on his should and looked around. They had, in fact, taken in new people. How many of them would stay, though? It was entirely possible that none of these people wanted to hunt the spawn.
“As for food, gorgeous…” He grabbed the dead deer by the back leg and pulled on it. It moved, but not quickly enough. Acrobatics were not good for his health this early in the day. Sighing, Grenth took a few steps back. When he was sure there was enough room, he ran forward and, to put it simply, bodyslammed the carcass. As soon as he made contact with the corpse, he teleported away, bring the body with him. A second later and he would have just ended up landing on top of a dead deer. This way, he ended up landing on top of a dead deer at the front gate of a small village about a day or two away from where they were camping. He’d stopped by the town originally to search for Blade, but ended up staying for… other reasons. Grenth dragged the deer into town and stopped in the middle of the market, which was already crowded. There, he offered the deer for food that was a little fresher. Someone took him up on his offer immediately and Grenth filled a small sack with sweet dried meats, a few different kinds of fruit, and a lot of bread.
Blade had already been heading for one of the kabobs near what was left of the fire by the time he teleported away, so he just grabbed the food he wanted. When he was sure that he had enough food, Grenth thanked the vendor and teleported back to camp with the sack of food hanging over his shoulder and a piece of soft, dried meat hanging out of his mouth. He picked his cloak up off the ground and slung it over his other shoulder. He took a look around and discovered that he’d obviously missed something while he was gone. There was something happening between Silver and Seraphis, who had slept all cuddled up the whole night. Who hadn’t seen that coming, he wondered?
“So, we all set to go or what? Oh, for you!” Grenth turned to Blade and reached into the bag over his shoulder, and pulled out a thick pancake-like pastry that was covered in powdered-sugar and, as Blade would soon find out, cream-filled. This was the good stuff that you could only get from the small towns. The secret ingredient, Grenth suspected, was probably some kind of love. “Think of this as an apology for something you’ll probably want to hit me for in the future,” He said, handing her the cake.

(I frantically typed this two minutes before I had to leave for school, so I'm editting it real quick!)
Silver felt herself pale further at the Ibixian's words. No... No, no, no! She wasn't going to do this to herself! She refused! Standing up and unpining Seraphis, she noticed how her entire body was shaking, though from what she wasn't sure. She was too confused; she needed to do something familiar. Walking over to her boots, she quickly pulled them on and grabbed a comb from her pack. "I'll be back in a few minutes..." she muttered, before walking off in the direction of the nearby stream. Along the way, she gathered herbs that she didn't carry with her.
Once at the stream's side, she let out a soft sigh and sat down, her legs set to one side. Distractedly, she took out the clips that held the silvery strands in place, making sure not to send the hidden dagger crashing to the ground. Gingerly she held it in her lap as she ran the comb through the freed hair, the ends just brushing her waist. Using two stones as a sort of make-shift morder, the half-elf ground the herbs together to form a thick, though rough, paste that she often used for a make-shift soap when she traveled. Rinsing her hands, she hesitated and glanced around before she pulled her tunic over her head, folding it and setting it aside, her shirt following, so that they wouldn't get soaked by her hair once it was wet. It left her in her leggings, which were just as good as a pair of pants because they were so thick, and her strapless white shift that she wore under her shirt. Horribly self-conscious without the protective layers of cloth, she hurriedly wet her hair and washed it using the herb paste. Once it was clean, she pulled it over her shoulder and wrang out the excess water, the silvery locks slightly darker now that they were wet. She began to untangle the heavy bulk with the comb, the familiar act helped soothe Silver's frazzled nerves. Even though they were still wet, the stubborn strands were already beginning to develop a slight wave, hinting at the curls she would have if she kept it much shorter.

((When I do this, [blah blah blah] that means Seraphis is speaking in the native language of the ibixians.))
Seraphis numbly registered the ibixian's words. It made him realize how foolish he must have looked to everyone else in the camp. He was filled with grief in that moment, but it did not show on his face. He breathed a small sigh of relief as Silver removed herself from his person and left the clearing. Forcing himself to stand, he methodically brushed the loose grass and dirt from his robe. He felt regret after the encounter. He wished dearly that he could take it back. He really thought Silver was Burenna, didn't he? That kiss was meant for Burenna, right?
'Now I'm being sabotaged by my subconscious,' Seraphis thought to himself sardonically, 'So much for sorting myself out in the morning...' He glanced around the clearing, gaging the party's reaction, his mind on damage control. Nearly everyone had noticed. How could they not? He wanted to explain himself, but he decided that he ran the risk of looking like more of a fool and remained silent. His eyes fell on the ibixian who was turning to leave. Seraphis decided to stop him. He hadn't done anything wrong. Granted, the encounter was somewhat of a private affair, but he couldn't expect the party not to notice. The ibixian's comments were well warranted.
"[Wait,]" Seraphis called out in the ibixian tongue. It was one of the few languages that his mentor required that he learn. The man had always stressed that the exchange of ideas was an important thing in regards to magic and the ibixian race was entrenched in it.
"[Please wait,]" he continued, approaching the ibixian, "[If you are willing to help, then I bid you, please, stay with us.]" Gods, he felt awkward! Letting out a low sigh, Seraphis reasoned with himself that the situation could only get better from here. "[What you saw back there...]" he said with a bit of reluctance, "[It wasn't a normal affair. I can't speak for the lady, Silver, but I will not hold your remarks against you.]" He laughed a little in spite of his mortified state.
"[It really is sort of funny when you think about it,]" Seraphis continued, "[I've only known her for a day. I was half asleep and I honestly thought she was someone else! But I digress. I am Seraphis Darkstar.]" At the last bit, he extended his hand as a friendly offering.

Leon heard the girl go off towards some running water and that only strengthened his resolve to leave. One thing caused him to stop, and that was the guttural and slightly off accent of the Ibixian language telling him to. He turned to see the man who had just created what Leon considered to be a funny situation. Confused, he tilted his head to the side to hear this man out.
As he finished, he straightened and his nod turned into a slight bow as his hands came together, one in a fist and the other covering the fist. "[My sword arm is for the group, as is what magic I have practiced and my knowledge.]" he said before standing back up. "[It is a pleasure to meet you, lord Darkstar. You are far too kind to forgive me, but who am I to argue? My name is Leon Elsaril.]" He said as he shook this new man, no, Seraphis' hand. He was silent for a moment as he let go, thinking over the little information that he had attained through what Seraphis had said and both of their actions. It seemed hat he decided to go through with a thought process and make it action.
He leaned forward so that he could speak privately with the man in case any of the others knew the Ibixian tung. "[If I may be so bold as to suspect something to you, and it were to offend you again, please forgive me and if you wish it I would leave, but I must ask, the woman, Lady Silver was it? Did you think that she was a lost lover of yours? I base this on your actions during and after the event took place, and what little you told me. It is not my place to pry, I admit, but I am curious and wish to know more and see if I could help, if only as a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. Or, if needed, a wisp of wind to disappear.

Seraphis gazed at Leon for a short time, trying to weigh his intent. He had just met the ibixian and he was, indeed, prying, however, it seemed to him that Leon was more of a compassionate sort. Seraphis could respect that, plus he felt that talking things over was far better than brooding over them in silence.
"[Indeed,]" Seraphis said, a hint of sadness touching his voice, "[I could almost swear I saw my Burenna's face in that moment. Tidal took her from me seven years ago, destroyed every memento I had of her except one, which I still carry today. I've not known the touch of a woman since... As a male, I'm certain that you can understand my.....situation.]" He paused a moment, gathering his thoughts. "[Then Silver came along,]" he continued in a softer tone, "[She showed me the kindness, compassion and friendship that I had denied myself for so long. She had somehow become somewhat precious to me in that one day. Curse my wretched heart for betraying me like this.]" The last part, he had spat out bitterly, his dour mood overtaking him again.

‘You weren’t the only one sleeping heavy.‘ she thought.
Doina lowered her eyes to look at Blade’s back and her hands reached out to brush against the injury. It was exactly as Blade thought it would be. There was some swelling of the skin around the claw marks, but there wasn’t any discoloration or a smell. The fact that it still hurt worried Doina but she knew that the injury could have evolved into something much worse and Blade herself said she experienced more than this.
They were going to leave soon so there was nothing she could do right now. But as soon as they were able to stop she would have to look at it again. At Blade’s question she nodded and stepped away from her back.
“You have some swelling but I think I have something for that. And next time we’re able to stop you should wrap it, to be on the safe side. If the pain gets any worse tell me okay? I’ll need to check it right away.”
Her attention was pulled to the side at the noise Silver and Seraphis was making. She thought she saw a sweet little moment of kissing but Silver’s reaction made her re-think it. After all you didn’t just throw someone to the ground after kissing them. Well…some people would but this wasn’t the most appropriate of places for that…
She watched the two a little longer, her gaze narrowing in on Silver. She didn’t look…well she supposed that she wouldn’t be happy with the situation but she seemed a little sad. She watched as Silver got off Seraphis and went off towards the stream. She wondered if she should go see if she was alright. But so far Silver had rejected her assistance before so she didn’t know if her following after her would help. She sighed slightly, dealing with these different personalities was difficult. It was so much easier with her group, only because she grew up to them and used to their personalities.
“Where is Ebon and what about our new…comrades?” she asked in relation to the question Grenth proposed.

There was a lot of commotion going on around Talon as she leaned against the tree. She was so drained that most anything else was a blur. The voices, the movements, she didn't pay much attention untill the leader of their party - her new party? - mentioned moving out, toward Hightide Pass. She remembered that area from somewhere, but brushed that off. She came out of her thoughts and ignored her weariness, something she was used to by now. It helped when she rolled her shoulders and cracked her neck. The sound made people cringe, but it was like being invigorated again. Too bad she could only do it once a day.
With her new awareness, she surveyed the group. The full elf woman was inspecting their leader's back, which looked like it had seen better days. The man the leader was sleeping with was standing with a sack of food from... somewhere. That hadn't been around last night. That made Tal curious, but she didn't want to pry. Leon and the half-elf man were talking in some strange language. The half-elf woman had gone off somewhere, but probably not too far.
Bending down, Talon grabbed her small pack, crossbow, and it's quiver of bolts. She counted and made sure that all the bolts were there. The crossbow looked to be in good condition - she needed to buy another string soon, though, and her pack was a little squished but fine. Shouldering all this with a sigh she came a little closer to where most everyone was gathered. She was ready to move out.

So, she was okay? Blade grinned to herself, quickly bit off what was on the kabob, and then put her cloak back on. "I'll be sure to do that." Then, as if on cue, Grenth came back. Originally Blade had been scared strait out of her skin when Grenth would just teleport out of the air. He'd done that just yesterday. However, by some sort of sixth sense or maybe it was just the mere fact that she was used to it, she remained normally completely unsurprised at his sudden entrances. She was tying the front of her cloak together when several things happened at once. Silver and Seraphis were doing something on the ground, Grenth was handing her something, the goat man was about to leave, and Doina was asking her a question. Blade blinked after the man who'd spent came, biting her lip. As much as she'd like him to stay (more party members the better) it wasn't her decision. He had said something that could go either way with Seraphis and Silver. Silver stalked off and Seraphis stood up, chasing after the man. Blade straitened to listen to what they were saying, her brow furrowing in concentration. They were talking in... Ibixian. Oh! That's what those goat men were called!
"Hmm? Oo, what's this?" Blade's eyes flickered back to what was being presented back to her. She reached out and took it, taking a small sniff. Her eyes widened in delight before she took a bite. '' "Grenth! You are a wonderful man...." Blade said before she took another bite. She practically danced passed him and over into some of the shade. She bent down, careful not to lean over, and then reached into the shadows. She pulled a cloak out and then turned around, holding it out to Grenth. "" Blade licked some cream off of the corner of her mouth before smiling at him. "A new cloak for you, since I bled all over your other one." Blade had maybe... one more in storage, which was a heavier one used for chilly travel. Either way, she didn't mind giving one up for him. "Nice and soft!" She walked over and draped it over his shoulder before turning around and walking back over to Doina. "Ebon will catch up... wherever he is. As for these new people they can come as long as they're willing. "
As one of the said people came up, Blade turned her head and smiled at her. She finished off what was left of Grenth's gift before she spoke, wiping off whatever crumbs there may be with a long, thin finger. "Coming with us? I do hope so. We could always use more help." She now looked over at where Seraphis and the Ibixian were. She could catch just snipets of what they were saying. She knew Ibixian but not very well, just enough to get her point across. If she'd had anyone to actually practice on maybe she'd be fluent. Unfortunately all that she'd had were her texts and her father. After she'd left what little she had learned had been chipped off bit by bit. Blade actually knew quite a bit of various tongues, but a lot of it was lost to her now. "[Hello!] " Curiosity getting the best of her Blade tilted her head, looking at the Ibixian with careful eyes. "Uh... [good to...]" '' "[Baklava you.]" Her face scrunched up immediately afterwards, her head pulling back. She knew that she'd said something wrong but she wasn't sure what. "[Panties? Chocolate mayonnaise foot pudding?]" She frowned and cocked her head, tapping her heel. "I just know that there is something wrong with that sentence."
