Mika's eyes narrowed only slightly, but they did. She always knew that skinny white guy was pure evil! But that wasn't even the biggest problem right now. Not demons or evil white men or talking rats that needed to back the hell away before she got a giant cat, no, the biggest problem was that her cards kept telling her to avoid giving Akiko a gift.
"I must divine our luck before allowing you to pilot our plane. It would be most unfavorable to discover the Moon was in it's reversed position."
Not caring if they waited for her or not, Mika kneeled onto the floor and pulled out her deck. Slowly and surely, she lay the cards onto the hard surface below her.
((I have a plan for your gift. I was going to get it to you and Kiante anyways, but this just gives me even more of a reason to give you ths 'gift'. BTW, if it's really your b-day, happy b-day, I had mine on monday!))

((Sorry I wasn't on, I was pretty busy the past few days. I'm just a BIT confused, but I'll manage. Is it really your b-day Akiko? That's pretty kewl! If it is. And what's this about a gift? Ai ai ai, well, let's get to posting!))
Kiante stood listening to the King's story quietly, his eyes closed, his hand poised under his chin. After it was done, he sat down for a moment.
He had heard something about Akiko asking what day it was. He was wondering why she was asking, obviously she would know it was her...'oops' he thought, 'her birthday.'
'Aww man, I'm gonna be in big trouble if she finds out I forgot to get a present. What to do, what to do? Hey, I know, why not ask the king?' Kiante thought to himself.
"Hey Mick, er, King, er, your majesty," Kiante did a small bow, "Could I talk to you a moment. In private?"
((Hey, BTW, Akiko, sorry but I can't help wondering, and I know this might be taboo, but I have to ask, are you a Christian? It's just, what you're describing about Angels and Demons sounds a lot like Christian Theology. I am, in case you were wondering.))

In exactly ten and three hours, we will face a danger greater than those we've already faced." Mika avoided saying the word thirteen, knowing it would bring bad luck and hoping her friends didn't say it. "The object we seek is within range, yet obtaining said object will be a puzzle. Teamwork is highly reccomended and personal problems should be cast aside."

Kiante pretty much ignored Mika's cards, knowing that he never really trusted them, and figuring the future could always be changed anyway. "Sir?" He again asked, inquiring of Mickey.

((No it's not really my birthday lol...that's in May with the other three-quarters of the world biggrin But yes I am Christian...actually, originally I based this totally on Christian themes, with God being a King of Heart and the devil and everything...but I'm trying to secularize it a bit...so please don't get offended... lol >.> Any mention I make towards God will be vague if at all just because I know some people get kinda touchy... But I'm always glad to find fellow Christians so I shall give you a hug *hug* lol ))
The King looked at Kiante quizzically but shrugged. "All right, but let's hurry up, okay? I really want to get moving..."
Akiko put her hands on her hips and said in a joking manner (she didn't want to offend Mika's trust in her cards), "Mika, you know very well the moon isn't going to affect my piloting capabilities. I've watched my dad plenty of times."

Mika would have shaken her head and sighed, but settled instead for rising and dusting herself off. "Say what you will. Watching doesn't equal skill, however, perhaps some luck would be usefull right now?" Mika removed the Wheel of Fortune card and activated it. It was still a newer skill for her, so the wheel was small and could only effect their party for a small time. Without a thought she moved it over their party and cat the spell, letting the happy gold and cheerful green petals and sequins fall over their party. "Let us hope Luck doesn't let you crash."
((can I use FF magic instead of KH? Only Green magic things like Luck and Bio. And damn if I don't feel excluded now, I'm all pagan-y and stuff. And according to us, god is/can be a woman. It might fit in a bit better with the theme of things, Princess...queen? just a thought.))

((That's fine! We can be flexible with magic and anything else as well. Oh, and I guess a Queen would work better...well, I'm not really planning ot have any Superior figure in this RP, so we won't have to worry about it. And don't feel excluded! I love you too! *hug* lol sorry I'm really hyper, I had a great day today biggrin ))
Akiko knew that Mika had a point, but she still felt pretty confident in her abilities.
She looked at Kiante curiously, but figured she could use this delay to call the last remaining friend that wasn't with them. She knew their families were all gone...
Strange. She didn't feel upset that humanity had been wiped out of existence. But then, Akiko had always felt strangely unattached to things she wasn't directly experiencing. So she put on a worried expression to prevent others from thinking she was as insensitive as she felt.
She dialed the number...waited...but no one answered. She left a message:
"Hey, um, it's Akiko...if you haven't noticed, some pretty weird stuff's going on...I just wanna make sure you're okay...if you get this message, call me back immediately, please...you might want to use the area code...um...so yeah. See ya then hopefully."
She flipped her phone closed and bit her lip again.

Mickey looked at Kiante even more weirdly. But he didn't say anything other than, "Well, er...I dunno really...I mean, I don't really have a whole lot of stuff with us..."
((Oh, forgot to mention before, let's just say that we've got all our stuff with us...including the stuff Mickey packed for Akiko, and the stuff Akiko grabbed from her house on her little trip. *nod* lol))

((Just wanted to make sure since I didn't come right out and say it. Okay, now enough with all this OOC chatter that I keep starting. biggrin OH scratch that, just wanna say that soon I'll be fast-forwarding a bit, got it? Okay now we'll stop this OOC crap. *nod* ))
Akiko shrugged, unsmiling. "Zolx...you know, the last one missing from our...our lunch crew." She laughed a little bit at the phrase, then went back to her blankness.
She immediately perked up. "But anyways, I guess we should go now."
Mickey thought for a moment. Remembering an unfortunate incident with his and Minnie's anniversary, he knew firsthand how girls could be with forgotten holidays.
Silently, only coughing a little to get Kiante's attention, Mickey drew out a little Riku action figure from Akiko's pack and showed it to him before putting it back in.
He'd found it on the way, in a store, and thought it amusing. It was planned to be a kind of "I'm-sorry" gift for Akiko, for dragging her into this mess. But she seemed to be more excited about this whole thing than offended, so it could be put to better use.
He strode on ahead with one last look at the boy saying, Okay, you can give it to her, but let's do it while we're moving, shall we?

Akiko ran ahead and pointing to yet another building looming quite a bit ways away. "Right there! That's the airport. Then you guys can wait, while I go get the plane ready, and then we're off to..."
"Somewhere between Asia and Africa..." Mickey answered. "I'll check just to make sure on the way."
Akiko nodded and pretended to take the lead, though everyone knew Mickey was the true boss of everything they did. Nevertheless, Akiko had never been a bad leader, true to her family name (Shidoosha). So it was kinda hard to give the leading role over to someone else.

Kiante smiled at Mickey's revelation. As they walked side by side, he very discreetly took the action figure from the anthropomorphic mouse. He then covered up their exchange by asking "So we're going to the middle-east? Like, Iraq or Iran or something? Wow...not long ago, that was the center of the world it seemed, what with all the wars and stuff. Wierd..."
They walked on a bit, then Kiante took his chance, "Oh hey, Akiko, by the way, I got you a little something for your birthday. Nothing much, but here." He held out the Riku action figure, albeit, very carefully to make sure Mika wouldn't jump on it or something.

"Neither Iraq nor Iran is in the Middle East," Mika said, pulling her cloak-like coat tight about her. "They are a part of south-west Asia. However, Jerusalem is exactly between. Terrible weather, good candy." Mika sped up her step to reach the airport before Akiko could keep her from grabbing something sweet. If she remembered correctly, this particular airport had very good truffles.
