Preferred method of playing?
Almost any. From arco to jazz to punk rock, whatever I feel like.

Personal Influences?
Christian McBride blows my mind right now... Ray Brown always made my day, and Jaco inspired me to be more creative with my playing. Next to that, I listen to craploads of music. Right now I am stuck on bands like The Postal Service, and Saosin. I think I started with Chili Peppers, but I cant remember all that well.

Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist?
Ill say Christian McBride. It changes every so often once I hear new stuff.

How long have you been playing? Not that long. Since August.

What model bass do you have? It's called a Cat Bass, but it's an ancient piece of s**t. My uncle's from when he was in college, then it went to my brother, now it's mine (my brother has a nice new Fender). Pretty much the musician's heirloom in my family.

Preferred method of playing? Finger picking. Pretty much cliche way.

Personal Influences? Lots. Marc Cochrane (brother. gave me the bass), John Paul Jones, Edgar Meyer, Stephanie Bensalem, Stanley Clark, bassist from Pink Floyd (I feel so stupid forgetting his name right now), George Harrison, and many more

Favorit Bassist/Idol Bassist? Well, Stanley Clark and Edgar Meyer are amazing upright bass players, my brother has always been my idol, and John Paul Jones is the s**t.

Anythink you'd like to add (about the rules or anything at all?)? I sing, play the piano, the dijeridoo, and the trumpet as well. I'm in my high school's a cappella group (16 people making music, no instruments) which is amazing, we just covered Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in our concert last night. I've been playing music since I was in second grade, and singing like an obnoxious little kid since the day I was born :3

Words Of Wisdom From Bagel...

How long have you been playing?
About two years now

What model bass do you have?
A tradition, it looks like an Ibanez.
It's also blue and everyone thinks it's purple...
And I named it Anubis.
{That would be it's third name, I've had to change it for different reasons.}

Preferred method of playing?
Finger picking, not so much with the slap bass.
I do play with a pick from time to time.

Personal Influences?
This one kid in my band.
Though he plays upright bass.
It's still awesome.

Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist?
Mike Dirnt of Green Day, Paul McCartney of the Beatles, Mikey Way of My Chemical Romance, and many more.

Any thing you'd like to add (about the rules or anything at all?)?
Hm...
Not that I can think of.

Hello hello hello hello!

I pretty much forgot what I put when I requested to join so if it's completely different...well....I doubt anyone cares. ninja

How long have you been playing?
Since 2nd January 2007. About a month.

What model bass do you have?
She's a Peavey Milestone BXP called Brody. Got her in a starter pack, I'm hoping to expand my 'collection' soon.

Preferred method of playing?
Any method that sounds good at the time, I don't want to limit myself to one style too soon. I dislike using a pick but I'm trying to tolerate it.

Personal Influences?
If I tried to list all my influences we'd be here all day but bands that directly inspired me to pick up a bass would include Green Day, System Of A Down, Rage Against The Machine, and Incubus.

Favored Bassist/Idol Bassist?
Mike Dirnt is quite possibly God.

Any thing you'd like to add (about the rules or anything at all?)?
I'm not sure of the rules as yet but I'm sure they'll be fine. I hope I'm not too much of a n00b and that I don't make a nuisance of myself. Any tips and guidance I can get from you guys will be much appreciated - it's good to be here! biggrin

How long have you been playing?
About 4 1/2 years.... and loving every minute!

What model bass do you have?
-ESP F-104; Workhorse... shows, band practices, songwriting, etc.
-Hartke SB-15; My love... first bass, simple, small, great for goofin' around and jamming.

Preferred method of playing?
Freedom of the fingers... but I don't mind using a pick from time to time... if it compliments the song or need a bit of a different sound (like a touch of distortion)

Personal Influences?
Anything METAL! I also enjoy a bit of jazz and funk and some good ol' rock 'n' roll walking basslines!

Fav Bassist/Idol?
Absolutely HAS to be STEVE HARRIS! That man is a bass genius! I've learned so much by studying his style and playing mannerisms.

Anything you'd like to add?
No not really, just glad to be part of the guild...
