Master of Gladiators If you would like, I will give you the following special ruling for the purposes of this dungeon; Study Opponent: If combat has not been previously engaged, you may take a round to study your opponent to learn it's capabilities in combat. If you fail the attempt, combat begins immediately with no further pre-combat interaction.
Option A: Individual Study; individual chosen rolls 1d6, 2 or better for successful study roll. If roll is failed, must face the opponent for one round in single combat.
Option B: Group Study; Leader rolls 1d6, 4 or better for successful study roll.(so option A means a 1, and that person has to fight alone, but option B means 1,2 or 3, and it's just light rushing head-long into the unknown for the party? ) Lazarus watches Fury's moves carefully. He knows that Master Perrian will do his best to keep Master Fury alive. What he does not know is who the creature underneath the bed will lash itself to, should it surpass, or pass Fury. He feels the boil in his blood, and the power surging through his finger-tips, his spell at the ready, and with a simple gesture he COULD fire it at the creature. Not knowing it's intentions, though, Lazarus awaits at the ready.

Having received his marching orders, Fury moves forward, silent as death itself. Trying to move closer to the creature beneath the bed, Fury hugs the shadows, blending in as best he can. Achieving his goal, Fury carefully studies the creature beneath the bed, before returning to report his findings to the team...

Fury's foray under the bed reveals the creature in all it's glory, plus an odd bit of history that I just couldn't help but throw in. mrgreen

Fluffy is the illegitimate love-child of Regina and Rufus, forever doomed to live beneath the bed that was used (repeatedly) to consummate their love. A rather disturbing combination of Regina and Rufus's genetic material, and years of continued psychological regression from being exposed to the continued love-fest has devolved this creature to the point of near animal intelligence and sheer aggression. Although it has long since learned to curb it's hostility towards it parents, all others are fair game, especially those seeking to plunder the family wealth from the chest it so zealously guards...

*Within her, Fire curls in on itself with a wimpering snarl; the implied 'love fest' is too much for even something that is only semi-sentient. Djanni turns slightly green as she steels herself for what most would consider to be a mercy killing.*

Startled, Lazarus stepped back, losing focus on his spell. He quickly looked around at the original members of this party. It didn't seam like the beast was going to launch itself upon them just yet, giving them fractions of a moment to figure out what to do. He looked to Perrian, and Fury, the former being the leader, and latter being the closest to the beast.
Lazarus looked to Vincent and Djanni, signaling them to get ready. He began to re-charge his spell, making sure his Force Field was also in working order.

Perrian nodded. "Well, I guess the thing that Rufus and Regina stole is guarded by that creature. So either we don't try to et the thing, which would be ignoring the whole reason of why we explored this room, or we could try to peaceful aproach the creature and try to take the item it's guarding, or engage combat. I'm guessing option three will be the option we'll probably end up doing."

"Well, I'm all for putting the creature out of its misery. However, that thing looks capable of some pretty mean hurt, if you know what I mean. And like you said Perrian, we came in here to get the item, why not go for it? Not like it could defeat all or any of us on its own......well, as long as we take this one step at a time." Vincent shudders invoulentarily, "Love-child...ew." he says with a gag, followed by another shudder.

Lazarus produced the small ball of fire that would lead to one of his eventual two spells. He looked to Perrian, followed by the rest of the party. "Shall I lead the assult, or would someone else be interested in launching the first attack?" His grin flashed his teeth, his incisors slightly elongated for some unknown reason.

Perrian thought. "Hmm...you have the lowest health so I'd suggest to let one of the others lead the assult and you be one of the second or third people to attack." Perrian said, knowing that if Lazarus died he'd have no way to stop his death or revive him.

Fury steps forward, preparing himself for the inevitable onslaught. "Alright you sick and twisted thing, prepare for your eternal release..." Knowing that his actions will force the battle, Fury leads the others in the assault upon the Monster-Under-the-Bed.

Fluffy responds to the party's approach with a flurry of outraged attacks, huffing loudly in it's excitement. (5 normal attacks, followed by special attack)

2-Luljeta (if used, otherwise Perrian)

4-Dancing Sword
5-Vincent
6-Demetry (if used, otherwise Vincent)
7-Djanni

Fluffy will use it's Normal attacks on Demetry (or Vincent again), Perrian, Luljeta (or Perrian again), Vincent, and Djanni, finishing with a Special attack on Djanni.

(( Okay, this will become important as we continue... With my "Heart of the Crypt" it is easy to recharge my force field. Shall we assume that it's at max, and I'll do everything to end both this, and the fountain that way, or do you want me to start at less than max?))
Lazarus sees that the beast does not feel he is a threat. He plans to at least get the creature's attention. He pours a stream of energy into the ball of magic held in his hand. As the energy builds, the power grows. His eyes flash as he launches the ball of flame at the creature under the bed. With a quick glance to his Force Field, he taps the button, a slight arua covering his body.

Action: Cast: Overblast - Creature
Cd: used for Defense (not that it matters, lol)

Perrian saw the incoming attacks and responded quickly. On his wrist, he pressed a button and a forcefield which surrounded his arose. Then, he summoned Luljeta who floated around the forcefield. "Lets get to work healing." Perrian said to Luljeta. Luljeta and Perrian shot off multiple healing blasts.
