When I have to rear march and just hope that the drum line doesn't take me out.

~when my own mother (who has been involved as a band parent in some sort of band for about 8 1/2 years, and some sort of marching band for 5 years) gets pissed at me because i "assume" she know swhat i'm talking about....when i say words like euphonium and sousaphone....wth?
~when stupid freshman think the colorguard isn't part of the band. maybe its like that at other schools...aka the middle school...but guess what: your in HIGH SCHOOL now. its NOT THE SAME
~actually, that last one applies to a lot of other things about freshmen...
~when people don't try, and mr martin (director) makes everyone feel bad at the end of practice (he doesn't really yell, he just makes us dedicated ones feel soooo guilty....too bad the ones that need to feel bad don't give a ****)
~(for this year only...a bit last year) when i come home mentally exhausted and i realize its because of the same reason mr martin and mrs carlson (guard coach) keep yelling at us. they want it more than the band does, and the band isn't "pushing" them....now i know how they feel....
~when my fellow guardies don't know wtf an instrument is...like really? a euphonium vs. a baritone i understand, but a sousaphone? *sigh*

My pet peeve is the artificial turf we have in our stadium. Little bits of "grass" and rubber "dirt" gets everywhere...on your uniform, in your shoes, in your case...it's annoying.

Still better than real grass though, I guess. :9

1.) When the new band director tells us we're playing the piece good when we're really not.(Ex, everybody being out of synch, clarinets missing notes, etc.)

2.) When people drop their instruments.

3.) Well thees more but I can't think of it right now... sweatdrop

My biggest pet peeve while during marching practice, is when someone in my section either talkes to somone else in a different section after we were called to set or when they sit down on the field once we take a break. No butts on da field!

I hate it when my flute players drop them! Especially one! She drops it almost everyday!

I also hate when the 2 8th graders try to tell ME what to do! Im co-captian! And I am the piccolo captian! They cant even march right! scream

Me and the other captian keep telling our flutes to watch the angles but they dont listen so they bring our points down at competition. stressed Im just glad the band director is thinking about kicking them out. twisted

~ When an important part in the music is screwed up because the idiot who plays it apparently is too lazy to learn their damn music.
~ When freshmen move after being called to set or are at attention or parade rest.
~ When upper-classmen move after being called to set or are at attention or parade rest.
~ When incompetent section leaders don't do a thing about their sections when they misbehaive.
~ When under-classmen talk back. I've been marching longer than you have, I have more experience, and I know what needs to be done to get better. Listen!
~ When people are unnecessarily loud on bus rides or take pictures of you when you're asleep.
~ When people think that they're better because they have heavier instruments or do more physical labor. So you're stronger. I can still whoop your butt at musicality and technique.
~ When people drop their instruments and pretend that nothing happened. At least check for any fractures or bent keys!
~ When our new low brass instructor is an a*****e.

- Seeing someone drop an instrument and not seem to even halfheartedly care about it
- Having to STAND and play the BASSOON... /choke
- When people mess up on purpose
- When you learn something one day, and completely forget it the next day
