She shook the proffered appendage, trying not to wince at the claws.
"Nice to meet you! Do you work here?" Considering she had the last name of the doctor that was probably a stupid query, but hey.
It was a perfectly nice question, but Greer had always been a little protective of her research. "No thank you, I only have two more to do. Would you like to walk with me?"
She did her best to avoid asking about the woman's partial transformation, as it was probably a touchy subject.

Madison was relieved. Her odd appearance did not seem to bother Greer one bit and this meant that she had class. She herself was always taught to never gawk rudely at someone who was different from you and felt Greer had learned the same.
"I help the Dr. sometimes. I hope to offer counseling services in the future though for everyone on the island. Dr. Moreau is my cousin in case you were wondering" she replied.
Everyone that she had met on the island had been curious about her last name so she assumed that Greer was as well. Madison nodded to Greer's invitation to accompany her.
It would be fascinating to learn more about this enotmology that Greer was so into.

"His cousin, huh? Do you have a big family?"
What she really wanted to ask was what animal Ms. Moreau was turning into, but again thought better of it. Continuing on, she pull down another trap and stored it in her box.

"Yes I do, actually. I am an only child but I have a large extended family. It is so hard to remember them all" she giggled, looking into the box that Greer was carrying.
In each of the traps were some dead mosquitos. Some of them were so large that they made Madison shudder. Maybe Dr. Moreau really did give the Dude an immunization for Dengue fever. With so many of these mosquitos around it would be a good idea to ask the Dr. for a shot of that.
"Sooo, did you get a shot for Dengue fever yet from the Dr.?" Madison asked, twitching her ear.

Greer shook her head. "I got a shot for something, but it wasn't dengue fever. I was looking at mosquito larvae to confirm what I already suspected: the two species of mosquito that can transmit the disease don't live on this island."
She bit her lip, stopping herself just short of calling Dr. Moreau a liar. It was not something she expected her companion wanted to hear.

Madison stroked the light hair on her chin."Interesting..," she murmured.
'I wonder what's going on..what is Moreau really doing?" Madison thought to herself. The Doctor might of been watching or hearing them so Madison quickly changed the subject..
"Sooo...how about those big mosquitos. Have you ever been bitten by them..heh?" she flustered, darting her eyes all around. There wasn't any sign of a video camera or anything but she couldn't be too sure.

"Oh, everyone gets bitten by mosquitos. Just the females, of course, since the males don't drink blood. But I'm not allergic to their salavia, so I don't get itchy bumps."
Stowing the last trap in her box, Greer puzzled over the sudden change in subject. Was Madison worried by something? She would have thought over it longer, but her growling stomach distracted her.
"Have you eaten yet? I'm starving."

Madison perked up her ears and caught the sound of something rumbling. It was so strange how she could hear off and on. It was always an unfamiliar sound though. She would like to finally hear Ambrose's voice sometime..she wondered where he might be.
"I'm hungry too," she said smacking her lips, "I think we better get away from here anyways..I heard something peculiar just now"

Greer cocked her head, puzzled. "Oh? what sort of sound was it?"
Shifting her grip on the box again, she slowly lead the way towards the cafeteria. She hoped they had something interesting.

"Never mind! It was nothing," Madison remarked on her way with Greer to the cafeteria.
The aroma of salisbury steak tickled her nostrils and she began to salivate. It was rather embarrassing because there was some drool coming out of her mouth and she couldn''t stop it.
Madison looked away from Greer and wiped it with her hand, then smeared it away on her pantleg. That sure was disgusting to do but better then having spit dribbling from your chin. sweatdrop
"I smell steak! I hope we got here in time as to beat the lunchtime rush," she said and began to quicken her steps towards the cafeteria doors.

Greer couldn't smell anything, which was just as well, since she'd never been partial to the odor of seared flesh. At Madison's comment she chuckled.
"Lunch time rush? You mean all four people?"

Madison giggled. She was in such a rush to eat something that she hadn't noticed that barely anyone was in the cafeteria anyways.
"I might just be hungry that I'm getting a bit delusional" she remarked and got in line for some grub.
There was of course the salisbury steak and other good things as she stocked up her plate. Madison stuck her nose up when she passed by the salad bar and sat down at a nearby table.

Greer shook her head, smiling. Rice and a vegetable stir fry went on her plate, which joined a glass of lemonade on her tray. A small salad with miso dressing rounded out the meal, and she went to join Madison at the table.
"So, you're a counselor? Is that like a psychologist?"

Madison speared a piece of steak on her plate with a fork and stuffed it in her mouth. She didn't normally eat her food without cutting it into small pieces but today she was alot hungrier than usual.
Greer sat down across from her and Madison sneered at what she had on her plate but didn't want to criticize. Where was the beef? confused
"Yes I am. At my last job I worked as a psychiatrist and helped people. I hope to do the same here" she said with a mouthful of food. Madison wiped her mouth and grinned as to apologize for her lack of manners.
It was like her behavior was changing and she didn't know the answer as to why.

Greer watched her companion eat, slightly frightened. She'd eaten with non-vegetarians before. They'd never acted quite so... carnivorous.
"How? By making people feel better about what's happening?" She winced, regretting her words immediately. She didn't hold anything against Madison for being related to the doctor, and certainly didn't want to imply that they were in cahoots.
