"Yeah, I'm sure everything will be fine," Amuriel replied, nodding. "A few charred trees isn't too much damage..."
She wondered exactly how badly Maelthra had burnt the area, but shaking her head, she decided it wasn't worth worrying over. If he said everything would be fine for the most part, she trusted him enough to believe it completely. Resting her head between her forepaws, she watched him eat, hoping he was enjoying his meal. Carefully, she shifted and scooted forward slightly, trying not to let him notice.

Nodding as he nibbled away at the meat of the squirrels, Maelthra glanced up lightly to see Amuriel scooting towards him. The elder just smiled at her before focusing on his meal again, not minding being watched as he ate. As long as he was near her, he really didn't mind what she did really.
"The meat's a little stringy... but not bad..."
He hadn't eaten squirrel too many times before, so he had forgotten how they tasted for the most part.
And before too long, he just had another pile of bones before him that would need to be cleaned. However, they probably wouldn't be of any use since they were so small, though maybe a few can be fashioned into something of use. Maybe something like a toothpick if needed.

"That's good," Amuriel replied, smiling and scooting more. Close to him now, she stretched her neck out and nudged the bones with her muzzle. They were small things and looked as if they would have very little use. But her objective wasn't the bones. Feeling very playful and excited about their soon-to-be flight, she scooted closer still and placed her head between his forepaws. Rolling her eyes up to watch him expectantly, she smiled and flicked her tail from side to side, pushing her muzzle lightly against his chest.

Maelthra tilted his head slightly as Amuriel approached him more, in a very playful manner. Then, with a mischivious smile, he hopped back a bit before pushing his nose against hers and staring into her eyes, almost cross-eyed like. All the while, his tail wagged lightly as a puppy might have done so before sticking tilting his head again with a grin.
"Is there something you have in mind?" he asked while tilting his head the opposite direction that he did moments ago.

Grinning as he returned her playfulness, Amuriel twitched nervously when he pressed his nose against hers. Had she been in elven form, her face would have flushed a deep red. She stuck her tongue out and licked his snout before scooting back and resting her head between her forepaws again, flicking her tail from side to side excitedly.
"I don't know... maybe.. something you mentioned this morning?" she replied, grinning wider and wiggling her body from snout to tail tip with anticipation. She hadn't been this excited.. well.. ever. As the time approached closer for him to take her flying, she had gotten more and more excited, until the point where now she was acting much like a pup.

As she licked his snout lightly, he felt a shock run through his spine. It was an odd sensation, but it wasn't really bad at all. Grinning, Maelthra glanced up at the sky as the sun had begun to set. Now was a good time to get started as he did want Amuriel to be able to see the land in both daylight and at night.
"Well then... we can definitely take flight now. Just shift forms and climb onto my back.. just behind my neck and in front of my wings."
Nodding, he smiled and kept himself low to the ground so that she could climb onto him when she was ready.

Amuriel grinned and jumped up excitedly, shifting forms in a shower of ice crystals before shaking herself to rid the child and ice from her elven body. She was more than excited to get to fly; she was ecstatic.
"Alright!" she said, grinning and stepping over to him. Carefully, she climbed onto his shoulders, settling herself behind his neck but before his wings and resting her hands gently against his neck. "Like this? Do I need to move any?"
Suddenly, she felt nervous. Even though her excitement had not dropped or dimmed, she felt anxious as well. With Maelthra now below her, she flustered, glad that he could not see her at the moment. Glancing around to try to calm her nervousness, she realized exactly how big the elder's true form was, as well as the grandness of his wings. She wondered if she should try to hold on to him, or if he would catch her if she happened to fall.

Feeling her on his back side, he thought for a moment before shaking his head. His heart began to race as he was very excited to bring her up into the sky with him.
"Nope, but you might want to hang onto my mane to help you stay on," he said with a smile as he got up onto his feet, "Take off might be a little shaky but once we're in the air the ride should be pretty smooth.."
Stretching his wings out as he prepared for flight, he stared up at the sky once more before glancing over his shoulder at his passenger.
"When you're all set, we'll take flight."

Leaning down slightly, Amuriel gripped his mane and nodded, calling, "I'm ready!"
Grinning, she wrapped her fingers a little tighter in his mane and looked out of the cave excitedly. The sky! Soon she would be flying with him. The thought was exciting and daunting at the same time. To be able to see the world from a whole new height and perspective... it seemed to be an amazing thought. She laughed out loud, anxious and excited, and buried her face into his mane happily, waiting for him to take off.

Maelthra couldn't help but smile as he heard her laugh with excitement. He was looking forward to being in the sky as well, so without another thought or word, he stepped forward a few times while beating his wings down powerfully. With a leap, he began to ascend above the tree tops easily despite having a passenger with him.
Being careful to not ascend too sharply, he rose up into the sky slowly. And before long, they were well above the trees, gliding peacefully through the air. There was a cool breeze about, but he hoped that she would be able to bare it well enough in her elven form.
"How's the view?" he asked while lightly glancing behind him to check on Amuriel now that he was flying about.

Amuriel felt a light jerk and a quick weightlessness as Maelthra leapt into the air, and as they began to ascend, so did her heart, until she felt like it was resting in her throat. Such exhilaration!
Grinning, she raised herself up slightly, still keeping bent close to his neck, and glanced down at the world that was becoming smaller beneath them. Their home, the cave and the waterfall, seemed so distant now, and the tops of the great trees she called the boundaries of her home seemed so small in comparison to the widened expanse of Di'jai itself. Such grandeur!
The wind pushed back her hair, and she laughed, shivering slightly from the chill of the air but enjoying the flight nonetheless. So far, it was just the experience she had hoped it would be, and she was grateful for Maelthra taking her up with him.
"It's beautiful! Everything is so small..." she called to him, hoping her voice would be heard instead of being pushed back on the wind.

"I did say the world looks a lot different from above..."
Smiling widely, the winged elder happily soared through the air with his close companion on his backside. It already felt nice to him to be out flying, but to be able to share the experience with someone so close to him just seemed to make it even better.
"Just wait till the sun finishes setting!"
Roaring out with joy, he sped up lightly, wondering how Amuriel would like a faster, more exciting flight. He was even tempted to roll about in the air, but decided to take things more slowly so that he didn't overwhelm the other elder with all of this.

"It looks different at night?" Amuriel called, exhilarated. She could only imagine! Now, at dusk, it was already beautiful and thrilling. Was Maelthra saying that when the sun set, it would be even more so?
Holding tightly to his neck, she closed her eyes for a moment, trying to envision herself flying as he would, alone through the sky with only air as a companion.

"yes.. not only the land below, but the skies above!"
Grinning wildly, he banked gently through the air, making sure to not angle himself too much that Amuriel wouldn't be able to hold on any longer. But it should have been enough to make the ride a little more thrilling than it already was. His heart pounded heavily in his chest from his actions, as well as from the exhilerating feeling of flying with her.
"How do you like it up here so far?"

Amuriel squealed lightly as he banked, and she wove her fingers deeper into his mane, feeling exhilarated from the flight. Flying! She almost had a hard time believing she was up in the air... flying! And with someone she cared about greatly.
As her heart leapt again to her throat, this time not just from the flight, she replied, "I love it! It feels so amazing.."
