Vincent speaks with a calm, even tone, but despite that the sword only lowers the tiniest fraction. "I've never seen you before...who are you? And why have you come here, of all places?"

"I am Varnis." He said as he removed his hand from his sword. "I do mercenary work, and I do not know where I am, as for I am lost." Varnis said as he walked up to Vincent, and gave a slight bow. "I am sorry for hiding in the bushes, I do not wish to fight you, unless it is needed."

"Well, in all honesty a healthy spar is usually not something I would frown upon! However, if you can wait here I'll get some food and a map to help you find your way around these parts...They can be rather tricky at times." With that Vincent heads into the house, though you could almost swear that the sword in his hand is staring malevantly at you.

"Well, I am not in too much of a hurry." Varnis said as he watched Vincent walk away into the house. "It has been a while since I had been in a fight." He said as he followed some, but stopped at the entrance. "What is that sword you have though? It is interesting."

"Normally," Vincent replies as he returns with a scroll case and a small knapsack of food, "I don't prefer to talk about it. However, if you really want to know this blade is known only as the demonic sword. While I was participating in the tournament, this blade found it's way to one of the floors. Like the noble idiot that I am I decided that I would take it with me for destruction later...but as soon as I laid my hand on it it visciously attached itself by embedding itself in my arm. The sword is remarkably powerful, but I've come to find that like all power it comes with a steep price..." Vincent sets the stuff at your feet before looking up at you appraisingly, "So, you haven't been in a fight in a while, huh? How would you like to brush up. I promise: I won't use the sword's abilities."

When he heard that it was a demonic sword, he looked up at Vincent. "So, you found it at a tournament, and it attached itself to you?" He asked already knowing the answer. "If only I could get a sword like that." He mumbled some as he looked at the sword, then back up at Vincent. "As long as you keep the promise to not use the abilities, then it is fine." He said as he extended his hand as he always did before sparring with anyone.

Vincent extended his hand with a smile and shook it firmly, but added in a much more serious tone, "You may think that now, but the burden this sword brings is not one that you want to bear..." Releasing your hand Vincent walks about fifteen feet in the opposite direction before rounding on you with his sword drawn, "Come at me with everything you've got, or you've got no chance in Heaven or in Hell!"

Varnis had put his hand towards his sword as he did that same as Vincent. "This'll be good" He said as he turned around, as he drew his sword, with thirty feet in between them. "Don't worry. I will use all my skill, you do seem skilled."

Vincent charges in forcing the demonic sword to obey his commands. He meets Varnis in a clash of metal as the Vincent works the blade through his defences. Any wounds Varnis has scored immeadiately begin to close themselves up as the demonic regeneration works itself in conjunction with his Ring of Regeneration.

((I agree. Also, I'll calculate the totals for the round and have l.a.v check so you don't have to worry about that. Just try to post in the same format as the one above to reduce the work load a bit.))

Varnis had charged in at the same time, as he put up his shield to defend himself against Vincent's attack, and followed up with a shield bash in hopes to get some damage in.

((...L.A.V. is Djanni. She's an acolyte DM and was the woman I was speaking with just before you came in. Also, defense and attack work seperate of each other. In other words, you automatically defend. Meaning that you could attack me (for six damage) and sheild bash me (for another six damage) and regeneration does not need to be included, since it will be factored in to the damage total at the end of the round. I will give you this one chance to fix your post, after this I'll just only remind you, but you can't fix it after this.))

Then in the middle of what seemed to be a crazy enough "interaction" a mysterious young woman dressed in what appears to be an assassins outfit materializes in front of all those who are present.
She stares blankly, almost as if he is witnessing a ghost from her past...or perhaps a lost loved one...
"Vincent...? Is it you? Have I finally found you? I have searched tretcherously for years since our separation, but i have finally found you!"
The girl then proceeds to hug Vincent lovingly as if they have not seen each other in decades..

((actually, Vincent, I would prefer that he post all abilities that will be active this round, including Regeneration. That way I don't have to look them up when I am doing my calculations.
I will calculate your damage to each other in a little bit; I have to make dinner and am so tired, my eyes are crossing.))

((Here are the totals as I see them:
Vincent=55/55-6 (attack)-6 (shield bash)-4 (dice)-1 (demonic pact)+5 (demonic regeneration)+1 (regeneration)=44/55
Varnis=30/30-10 (attack)-16 (smash)+2 (regeneration)=4/30))
Vincent and Varnis clash in a titanic struggle of power. Varnis strikes first with a powerful thrust that catches Vincent's arm, numbing it all the way to his fingers. Vincent gets his retribution though as his sword nimbly finds its way around Varnis' shield to strike a debilitating blow to the shoulder. However, it comes at a price as Varnis' shield slits open Vincent's scalp, causing Vincent's sword to even more painfully rip out of Varnis' wound, causing even more damage. The two combatants seperate, with Varnis notably more injured than his opponent. Of course, the mood is entirely ruined as the strange woman begins to slowly sufficate Vincent with a paralyzing hug. For moments Vincent stares at the woman with incomprehension before it dawns on him. You see something long forgotten stir within Vincent, something so powerful that even the demonic sword loses its grip on him and its eyes go cold.
He mutters a single word, "Sister..."
((Varnis, shall we continue? I think I see the outcome of this and I hope you do too. But I do like your character design...come back after you've gained a few more cp and try again. I would love to have a second go.))

Varnis staggers backwards after the blow he just took from Vincent, falling down to his knees, he digs his sword down into the ground, as he kneels there to give him support. "Damn your strong." He said as he looked up at Vincent, as he gets hugged by some one who seemed to appear out of no where. "You are by far better than I. You wi-" He said as he saw something weird happen to Vincent.
((Yea, I would like to go again, after my character does get stronger. I gotta make him stronger before I do any more pvp.))
