Namine had heard the plan. They were to rest up as not much light was left for the day. They were unable to reach the town because of the attack of the ogres. Those beast had come a plenty and hindered their progress, not to mention they managed to injure quite a few. They had already decided who would be taking watch for the first round. "I'll take the next watch if no one minds." Although Namine was tired she did not feel like sleeping. She still fought the fact that she was trapped in this world and in this form. She could sense the water nearby and it called to her. Her stubborn nature and pride would not allow her to move near it. She did not want to transform fully into what she was. Instead she busied herself with collecting wood for the fire. Some of the group was already laid out and the corners of her lips turned up slightly. "Ahh what a strange fate" she said aloud to no one in particular.

People had already begun claiming watches and started setting up camp by the time that Josh snapped out of his little day-dream. He walked up to Anne so he was next to her and asked in a low voice if he could have the first watch. Personally he wasn't going to tell her that he would probably end up staying up the whole night anyways, but wanted to get a specified scout time before hiding away for the night. Josh has a thing for getting extremely paranoid.
Back in the human world, if he were to go outside late at night to walk his dog or do something else, he would constantly shiver out of the feeling of somebody's eyes boring into the back of his head; he would constantly spin around to make sure nobody was there. He had always been a little afraid of the dark, not really the "essence" of dark - but rather the things that could be "happening" in the lack of light. He also wanted the first shift so that he could be positive that somebody else whom he knew to be responsible would be his partner and because chances are there would be awkward silences with somebody Josh didn't know (he has trouble opening up to those he doesn't feel too connected to - those that aren't his "friends" per se)
Unconsciously Josh turned towards where the sun was sinking ((how many suns are there? Only one??)) below the horizon and gazed blankly at the various colors streaking across the sky. The awe of nature just captivated him, just how the world(s) seemed to work sent amazement and wonder through his mind.

((Just one, yes - or we'd have some more light to enjoy! lol I'm thinking of two moons, though. ^_^))
"Sure! We'll both be in it, then." The girl was relieved someone else had volunteered for her shift. She looked at everyone, some were busy bringing in wood and food, others had already laid down to rest. Her lips thinned at the sight of these; having always been educated in a "no pain, no gain" way, she thought them to be inconsiderate. Anne managed, however, to control her new fiery temper. The stress and tiredness of the day weighed her down. Noticing Namine and a few others were gathering wood, she decided to go look for food. It wasn't hard; near the water, a few apple and orange trees grew. And there should be fish, as well; they wouldn't starve, that was for sure.
Making mental note of those who were on watch duty, Liam went off to gather some wood. Soon he had a decent amount that, together with that brought by the others, would keep a good fire throughout the night. Watching the sunset, the boy sighed. That world was amazingly...pure, raw, untamed. he'd give anything to capture its fresh colors and soft lights with his camera. The first hints of darkness arrived, and with them a weird force stirred Liam's blood. He was hungry, but neither the fruit nor the fish attracted him. As strange and disturbing as the thought sounded even to himself, he craved for blood. "I guess that clears out what I am, exactly..." With a resigned sigh, he entered the woods, looking for some small, incaut animal, always careful not to lose sight of the others.

Rhm was lying on his back, one leg drawn up and his hands behind his head, looking up at the just appearing stars. He noticed that some people were still working and felt a little bad for resting so early. He sighed as his conscious gave out and he hopped up onto his feet. He looked around thoughtfully, seeing where he would be most useful. He started toward the water to collect some of that, but remembered what happened last time with the mermaid's water. Do I need to drink? he thought, Can I drink? He didn't feel particularly thirsty, but then, he never drank much normally. He did feel kind of hungry, though, so he headed into the woods to find something to eat, and maybe some firewood to bring back. He walked through the orange grove and plucked a ripe looking one off a tree. He peeled the orange with his thumbnail and raised it to his lips. Just as he was about to take a bite, he hesitated. The orange looked rather juicy. Does juicy count? Would it 'short-circuit' him like before? His stomach gave a rumble. Well, he had to eat sometime. He licked it and felt a little shock in his mouth. Damn... He was about to throw it away when a light bulb lit up in his head. He concentrated as hard as he could. A little spark danced over the orange, but that was it. His stomach grumbled again, giving him all the encouragement he needed. He closed his eyes tight. A ball of electricity erupted from his hand, firing through the orange and up into the sky. He watched it fly until it was out of sight, then looked back down. His snack was black and crispy. He squeezed it and it fell to ash. He grabbed another orange and peeled it. Well, it's progress. Let's try that again. He concentrated again. The energy he had felt before rushed up and threatened to fly out again. In desperation he clapped a hand over the top of the orange. The electricity jumped back and forth between his fingers, just touching the outside of the orange. Steam began coming off the orange, seeping through his fingers and into the night sky. He clamped down on his powers and the energy cut off. He tossed the orange back and forth between his hands. It was slightly smaller now. He raised it to his lips and took a big bite. It tasted just like the dried fruit of his world! He quickly finished it off, already feeling better. As he walked back to camp, grabbing chunks of wood along the way, he thought wryly, That was a lot of trouble for a snack.

As Kiyoko was completely "zoning-out" and staring at the water, noises brought her back to reality. Her cat ears twitched; they were footsteps....Shoot! They were gathering stuff for the night, and she wasn't doing a thing! A bit guilty of herself, she got up and went into the trees to gather some wood.
As she was picking up the pieces, she could hear the sounds of night begin to form; rustle of trees, an owl in the distantance hooting, stuff like that. She quickly became a bit nervous as she held the wood in her hands; she didn't like darkness much; she'd sleep with a nightlight sometimes, even. She was chicken; end of story. Her siblings loved to scare her in the middle of the night when she was little; that didn't help much, now that she thought about it. The cat-girl began to hum to herself, to both get her mind off of things and to drown out night noises as she continued to gather good-sized sticks and wood.

No sooner, after Anne had responded Josh's mind went blank. He began staring into nothingness. The incredibly creative side of him taking over, words began randomly forming in his head. Once the multi-colored words formed across the starry background of his closed eyelids, his concentration broke, and the words escaped into nothingness.
Looking around he didn't see anybody near him at all. He heard the rustles of trees, sloshing of water and chatter of the folk he was traveling with, but was still standing at their new "campsite" stuck doing nothing. Josh didn't even have a foraging party! His eyes scanned over in the direction of the fading rays of sun. Judging by the placement of the sun, Josh guessed that he had been "daydreaming" in a sense for five or six minutes - in earth measures of course because he doesn't know length of sunlight, days, etc.
Little critters started crawling out of bushes, scurrying about, going about their own miniature preparations for the night. The gurgling of the river seemed to suddenly catch Josh's attention again.
If we're gonna have a fire, don't we need to contain it with a barrier such as river stones? Josh smirked at himself for his simple thinking, but at least he had a job now. Slowly striding towards the flowing water, he began sensing a strange sort of energy pulsating from the liquid. The young man stood peering into the ever-clear water just staring at the perfectly smooth pebbles on the bed.
He was hesitating. Why am I hesitating? It's only water! Slowly he inched his hands closer and closer to the surface. With every moment a feeling of an "Icy-Hot Patch" got stronger and stronger. Fingertips sent out a ripple effect, an electric-like shock struck out through Josh's whole nervous system. His body shot bolt up and his eyes fluttered for a small moment. A loud shiver broke the silence. "Woah! Now that is some refreshing water!"
This time when he reached down for sizable rocks, the water just felt cool and fresh, no shock - nothin'. There was a strange feeling though, as if his hands weren't really in the water...like they weren't even attached. It was really awkward. Liquid just seemed to flow through invisible porous holes that seemed to course throughout his hands.
Josh set to work until he had many rocks shaped in a circular shape, just big enough to contain a fire without burning any surrounding wildlife unnecessarily. The young elf plopped down in the grass in front of a small patch of dirt, with a nearby stick he started scribbling mindlessly - just waiting for somebody to return.
((Sorry, I wrote so much... I felt in a strangely weird writing mood tonight... but then again - I'm not even sure if most of that makes sense. If you have questions tell, me and I'll modify my post xd ))

(( I wasn't posting 'cause I just didn't have anything to go on. Surf-dude, looks like you're the one who got your name wrong this time xd ))
Tim walked into the clearing that they had chosen for their camp, his DIY dried fruit in one hand and a bundle of dry sticks cradled in the other. He gave a little salute to Josh with his fruited hand and dumped the sticks into the circle of rocks that he assumed Josh had made. Looking around, he was surprised no one else was back yet. He wondered if they were all OK. Ah well. If their not back in a little bit I'll go looking for them. Who know what things are around here at night. When he had set the sticks into a tepee shape, he fell back onto his bottom, his feet stuck straight out and leaning on his hands behind him. He pondered how to best light their pyre. He could try and light it himself with his powers, but they were sporadic at the best of times. Still, he would never get any better at them if he didn't try. He glanced over at Josh and asked, "Wanna see something cool and potential very dangerous?" Without waiting for a response, he cocked his finger like a gun and pointed it toward the sticks. Almost at once he felt the rushing sensation; it was coming easier now. He felt it run down his arm to the tip of his finger, where a blue ball was coalescing. Sparks danced around it as the ball grew to the size of a grape. Timmy slammed the cap back down on his powers and the filling stopped. The ball, released from it's pump, rocketed off his finger to the center of the fire, trailing an arch of lighting behind it. The dry wood instantly burst into flames. Tim raised his smoking finger to his lips and blew it out like a smoking gun. He felt immensely proud and very cool. The moment was ruined when he realized he had accidentally started small fires randomly around him. He quickly stomped them out and returned to where he sat, cross-legged now and rubbing the back of his head. He smiled at Josh. "See? Cool and dangerous."

Namine walked back to camp carryin a large pile of wood she had collected in the nearby woods. She noticed that some people were still wandering about and some had settled to wait for the others. She moved towards the pile of rocks the young elf had made. "Did you do this?" she asked, "It was a good idea." Not waiting for an answer she leaned down in order to drop the pile of wood in the center of he formation. Red orbs looked at the stoned and realized they were wet with moisture. Her slender hand reached out with curiosity to touch the slickened rocks. She had to admit the moisture felt nice. Looking up she sensed the water nearby and each nerve in her body called to it wanting to soak in the moist coolness. Her red silk dress shifted in with the wind and the ice blue protective armor coveing her arms and legs reflected the small amount of light that remained. Namine sat near the elf, "I hope you dont mind." She didn't feel like giving in to ther mermaid self just yet.

After spending some time admiring the woods and gathering enough sticks, she carried her load back to camp. It wasn't easy; wood plus a giant staff, equaled alot of heaviness that her already tired arms had to endure. She tried not to drop anything; the last thing she needed was to attract enemies again.
In the end, she managed fine; she returned to see that three other people were sitting at a lit fire. As she sat the sticks down next to the pile, she noticed the rocks keeping the fire surrounded. "Well....guess this is extra wood then, for later." she said, sitting her pile down roughly. "Oh, and nice idea whoever it was that came up with the rocks." she added, as she plopped down on the ground next to them. Although it was still dark and freakishly mysterious, the fire and company seemed to make it all disappear. Their faces lit up in the fire like a angel in times of darkness; it was a nice feeling. I wonder if it's like this in the games I used to play, she thought to herself, as she also stared into the fire.

The Timmy-kid had approached and dumped his load into Josh's chorale of rocks. With a salute and a nod he set to placing his wood in the middle of the rocks in a cone-like formation. After tons of rustling and bustling, the shape was complete and Tim plopped on down near Josh.
Without warning, the boy turned to the elf and asked, "Wanna see something cool and potentially very dangerous?" Josh thought that he caught a malicious grin pass across Tim's soft features. He nodded a silent 'yes' and the other boy pointed his finger at the pile of wood, almost like he were playing with a "fake gun."
Slowly a blue juice squirted in a controlled manner, very slowly, out from the outstretched finger. Little shock waves seemed to dance around the minuscule ball of...something.
What exactly is that? It's soo.... Cool! the boy thought - mesmerized. All of a sudden the little ball of goo shot off of its "gravitation pedestal" and flew straight for the pile of sticks. It seemed that before the thing even hit the dead trees, the scenery burst in flames.
Soft flames licked Josh's pupils. He was in shock. Although some of the fire was contained very little fires seemed to burst up from the ashes of the ignition. He wanted to help put out the flames, but couldn't even move - it was almost like he was stiff with fear for absolutely no reason at all! The dark was one thing to be frightened of, but fire too?!
His eyes had been fixed on one particular patch of plasma but lost the concentration when Timmy stomped it out. The boy sat back down again across from Josh. He quickly recomposed his features and put on a mimicking grin to Timmy's.
"See? Cool and dangerous."
The elf laughed to try and hide the inexcusable fear that had petrified him, "Oh yea. That was sick!"
Phew...doesn't seem like he noticed One thing that Josh hated was showing fear, or any weakness rather, to friend or foe; it just wasn't "ethical." ((I don't know sweatdrop ))
Namine then strolled up asking if Josh was the one who constructed the rock circle. He nodded shyly; he didn't really know this person yet and she was still talking to him!
Shortly after that Kiyoko arrived! They're just crawling out of the bushes! Jeez, are any more coming? Josh craned his neck to get a better view of the bundle of forest that the rest of the group had entered - save Anne. He didn't see anything so he wiggled his sensitively pointy ears - yet he still heard nothing.
"Did you see anybody on you're way back here?" the elf asked the group, "I'm getting worried about the rest of the posy..."

((SORRY!!!! I had a major project this weekend and I kind of...disappeared. I'm really, really sorry. sweatdrop ))
None of the fruit had tempted Anne's appetite; looking around, she wondered what could it be that her new body would need. Then, she saw it: a small bird leaping from a tree to another. The thought of the meat and body energy of the small creature lifted her senses and, without stopping to think, she shot a small jet of flame right to it. Feathers ablaze, the bird fell softly at her feet, and the girl sat and started eating. Self conscious and afraid others would think badly of her dinner, Anne decided not to go back before she was finished, which wasn't too long. Lifting up from her hidden spot, she was startled to see a clear blaze and the start of a fire at the camp. "Good thing I'm not the only one who can control fire..." With a smile, the elemental returned to where the others were. The only one missing was Liam, who she guessed would also be hunting. "You guys should get to sleep already, you know?" She sat by Josh, but closer to the fire than he was, with the impression they had been speaking but not knowing what about.
