Akki,with a dreamy, far-off look on her face, kicked her legs idly in the water as she watched Kalan swim back out to her.

((i apologise in advance... but this is just the drama i was looking for))
Kalan swam swiftly back towards the platform when, suddenly, a giant squid emerged from the depths, its tentacles writhing in the water. Kalan let out a shocked gasp as one of the tentacles grasped him around the ankle and tugged him towards the beast. Doing all he could to break free, he muttered something to himself and sent a thought to Akki. It was garbled but she should have been able to make out a brief message: Get my wand, love!

Akki let out a shocked gasp as a frantic thought pushed into her mind. Looking for her beloved, she swam quickly to shore, searching his bag before pulling out his wand. She swam quickly out again, her eyes searching desperately for Kalan as she went.

Struggling to the surface Kalan broke the water for just long enough to see Akki with his wand, yelling a desperate "Accio wand" he grasped it as it shot from his love's hand into his. Searching frantically for a hex or curse he could use, and coming up empty, Kalan fought just to keep the water out of his lungs.

"Kalaaaaann!" Akki cried out, swimming as close as she dared, her mind frantically searching for a way to help him.

Kalan, hearing Akki, closed his eyes and prayed nothing would happen to her. Summoning an air of calm about him he waved his wand and thought out a bubblehead charm in order to breathe. Glaring at the squid he blinked his eyes and took a deep breath before calling a Bat-Bogey Hex on the monster, then apparated himself closer to Akki. Looking at her he forced a smile, "You should get out of her," he said to her with a glance underwater, "It might come for you next." Kissing her briefly and wincing at the pain in his leg he gently shoved her towards shore.

Akki kissed him back desperately then swam obediently to shore, relieved at her beloved's escape. She turned to help him as he he reached the shore, her breath catching in her throat as she caught sight of his leg. "Oh Kalan...you're hurt!"

Kalan smiled and shook his head, "It's okay, I'll have Merryn heal me later.." Wincing and taking pressure off of his ankle he sighed and ran his hair through his hair. "Wanna help me get home? I think we've both had enough excitement for the day," he said, "I do wonder where that came from though."

Akki shuddered as her gaze scanned the surface of the water. Her thoughts on how close she had come to losing him, she wrapped an arm tightly around his waist, allowing him to lean on her as she helped him towards their belongings. She turned to him her arms hugging tight as she kissed him. "I was so scared....I thought....oh Kalan..."

Kalan kissed her back with tears in his eyes, then gathered his stuff. Slinging his pack onto his shoulder he kissed her passionately, ending the whole kiss with several soft kisses on her cheeks and jaw line. "I could never hurt you, love," he commented seriously, "and if getting eaten by a large squid mean hurting you..." Gulping and then realising how rediculous that had sounded Kalan smiled. "I could, just, I could never hurt you."

Akki slipped her dress over her suit and packed her things up. She took a small cloth from the basket and kneeled at Kalan's feet to wrap it gently around his injured leg. Tucking the ends in carefully before gazing up at him, her eyes still shimmered with unshed tears. "I love you so much, I couldnt bear it if anything happened."

Kalan wrapped his arm around Akki's waist and kissed her ear, "Love," he said, "Nothing will ever cause you to lose me in anyway."

Akki wrapped one arm around his waist, picking up the basket with her other hand. "Let's get you home sweetie, you need to have that leg taken care of."

Kalan let Akki lead the way away from the lake, with a longing glance over his shoulder. I wonder what made that thing attack me... Sighing, he turned his gaze back and followed Akkhina.

Kel wandered down the beach, pausing to remove her shoes and stockings. She smiled delightedly at the feel of warm sand between her toes.
