I only use it when I need to check something really quickly. It has some fairly good information on there, but I would never use it as a true reference. That's just asking for trouble.

Most teachers will tell you that it's a good place to start (find other sources and basic facts that you can research elsewhere).
Uncylopedia is a better way to waste time.

I belong to a guild were one of the vice captions is part of 4chan. I can't really stand him. He's just so obnoxious, but since I like the other people, I just ignore him as best I can. Which at times can be pretty rough since he's so overbearing about his stupidity.
